World War II In HD – BluRay review…

So last week, I bought the BluRay for “WWII in HD” a TV series documentary that was once shown on the History Channel. I picked it up ’cause as some of you can tell, I am sort of a politics and history kind of guy myself.

I watched this over the weekend. It has actor Gary Sinise hosting the narrative voice overs. It also has actual WWII veterans telling their stories from the past. It has actors like LL Cool J, Amy Smart, Rob Lowe, Steve Zahn, etc. voicing the veterans that are dead.

On with the documentary, it was very interesting stuff. Sad and horrifying at the same time. Before you watch this, be prepared to be grossed out. There’s a lot of gruesome material in this. All the WWII footage you see in the doc is real. You will see actual violence, real dead bodies, real people getting shot and murdered, people committing suicide, etc. They show all of it. It is no fictional movie that’s for sure. They didn’t show much of Hitler and Nazi footage though. It was mostly about the U.S. at war with Japan. It never showed the actual attacks of Pearl Harbor because it was never filmed so that’s why it would never be shown anywhere. The documentary showed battles on land, out in the ocean with battleships and in the air with fighter planes. It even showed the Nazis murdering people known as the Holocaust.

I hate most fictional war movies, why? ’cause I feel they ruin the actual war history by turning war films into pop corn action flicks. Hitler may be a bad man, yes, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t really what he looked to be in movies like “Inglourious Basterds” and “Valkyrie”. I have seen many WWII documentaries but none of them were as good as this one. Those silly fictional war films like “Platoon”, “Saving Private Ryan”, etc. are nothing like you see in war in real life. Don’t compare fiction to real life.

You could imagine what it would be like to fight in an actual war. Like we’re at war right now against Iraq and Afghanistan. It is very frightening and scary.

I really liked, “WWII in HD”. Picture on BluRay is amazing. Much better and more sharper than regular DVD. For all you history and war buffs out there, I suggest you see this. I’m glad I picked it up and it was worth the purchase.

Report: Patrick Stewart to star in “Mad Max: Fury Road”???

Huge rumour hit the nets that Sir Patrick Stewart might be starring in “Mad Max: Fury Road” that stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Somebody named, TrekGirl wrote to AICN telling them about it. It probably is true that Patrick maybe starring in a George Miller movie, but it might not be “Mad Max” either but it could be a different one.

Anyway, I’m happy to hear Patrick is finally making a comeback to Hollywood. With him possibly starring in “Mad Max 4” and him coming back as Prof. X for Bryan Singer’s “X-Men 4”, it’s looking good. Like  Patrick is missing being on the big screen and wants to make his Star Trek and X-Men fans happy.

Electric guitar and amp…

Well, I just picked my electric guitar and electric amp today. Very affordable and kind of cheap. I just didn’t want anything too fancy or too expensive. Just something simple to start off with. I won’t reveal what kind of guitar and amp I’ll be getting until I get ’em home delivered. I’ll have ’em ordered next week. I will also need to order more accesories like guitar case, strap, extra strings, etc. Maybe a few more pedal effects.

I already have a few pedals. I have a wah pedal and a Metal Master distortion stomp. I’ll probably get an overdrive pedal and a volume pedal.

I’m so over this acoustic guitar thing. It’s time to rock it up. I’ll be ordering these through my favorite online music store, American Musical Supply. I’ve been ordering my stuff from them for years. Good company.

Report: Parks & Recreation renewed for third season!!!

Well, at least NBC did one good thing and that is giving “Parks & Recreation” another chance. Weren’t they gonna cancel that show at one point too? I hate most shows on NBC but “Parks & Recreation” is one I find myself watching. It’s a good show. Much better than the overrated “30 Rock” which I don’t like. Plus, Amy Poehler is another celebrity chick that I might have a celebrity crush on, she’s very cute, indeed. I’ve been watching this show obsessively from the very beggining. I’m glad to hear this news.

Report: Warner Bros. studios responds back to Simon Monjack’s lawsuit threats…

Just a while back, Brittany Murphy’s husband blamed Warner Bros. studios for the death of Brittany Murphy. Accused the studios of making her upset for not being a part of “Happy Feet 2” animated film. Simon plans to sue Warner Bros. for wrongful death.

Well guess what, it didn’t take long for Warner Bros. to hear about Simon’s lawsuit threat and they responded back to him immediately.

WB’s said Simon’s claim is false and defamatory. WB’s also said she never entered to audition for “Happy Feet 2” and there was no contract to cancel.

Simon’s lawsuit will get himself no where fast. If I were him, he should back off immediately or he’ll lose everything he got. WB’s would probably counter-sue if he does file the suit. Don’t mess with Hollywood or you’ll get a good kick in the ass, hard.

Report: Ozzy admits to liking Lady Gaga in his autobiography…

In Ozzy’s book, “I Am Ozzy”, the Black Sabbath man actually admits to liking Lady Gaga’s music while discussing today’s music industry in a chapter. He knows that most of today’s music is fake and manufactured, but he actually finds a lot of talent in Lady Gaga.

I agree with the Ozzman. Today’s pop music maybe fake and manufactured, all of it, but once in a while someone with real talent will actually come around. I think Lady Gaga is pretty amazing and suddenly became a huge fan of hers. Her songs has a rock n’ roll vibe to them in so many ways.

If Lady Gaga ever came around Albany to play the Times Union Center, you can definitely count me there. I hope she’ll play for us Albany peeps at some point. I don’t think she has yet. She fucking rules. Ten times better than Madonna and Britney Spears, for sure.

Cool Video: Metallica fan riot in Chile, they know what Metallica is all about!

Chile knows what Metallica is all about. How come US fans don’t treat Metallica this way anymore as we did back in the 80’s and early 90’s? When I saw Metallica at the Times Union Center back in Nov. in Albany, Metallica fans were singing along and banging their heads, but the US fans don’t go crazy as we did in the past. Fans overseas know how to really treat Metallica. I know their Metallica mosh pits are probably worse than the USA. GEEZ! No wonder Metallica loves touring overseas more than the US! Metallica still plays great shows and they still have it, but US fans needs to be more aggressive.

Metallica fans tried to riot their way into Club Hipico in Chile earlier this week ’cause they didn’t have a ticket. Police tried to fight them back by spraying them with water. I know Metallica had worse fan riots than this in the 80’s, but now that riots are starting to happen again at Metallica shows, this is what Metallica is all about.

Another website claims Pete Townshend is a sex offender but doesn’t give proof…

Why are all these child abuse organizations saying that Pete Townshend is a registered sex offender but they don’t have proof? It’s because they have none.

Another website claiming Pete is registered, but these child abuse websites fail to show Pete’s actual sex offender registry to prove it?

If you’re going to accuse someone of being a registered sex offender, you must prove it. Where is Pete’s actual registry? That hasn’t been seen online yet.

Sorry, but the NFL is not going to take the Who off the Superbowl Halftime. Kudos to the NFL for not listening to these assholes. I for one, am looking forward to the Who’s performance as they have been my favorite band for many years and they still rock. I’m sure the Who will put on an incredible performance.

Thought: Brock slams the Gaurdian Brevard aka “Protect Our Children”…leave Pete Townshend alone, idiots!!!!!

Another children’s ogranization is trying their best to get Pete Townshend and the Who off the Superbowl gig. I’ve seen the sex offender registery that was posted online.

NEWS FLASH: The sex offender registry aimed at Pete Townshend is probably fake, that was definitely photoshopped by the “Protect Our Children” website!!!!

That’s NOT an actual sex offender registry.

If you seen what an actual sex offender registry would look like, law enforcement would NOT take any random picture of Pete smiling and photoshopped it on there. Plus, if you look at the registry itself, it’s not even correct of what the actual registry would really look like.

An actual registry would have a mugshot of the offender’s face on it. Does the background of Pete’s pic look like he’s at a police station? No. Look like he’s in a car. An actual registry would have more information on the offender than what is seen here. An actual registry would have the offender ID which this one doesn’t have and it would have the offender’s home address where he lives which this one doesn’t have. It would also explain the conviction, and when the arrest was made.

Pete Towshend is actually NOT registered as a sex offender at all. The “Protect Our Children” website is all over the guy.

They also claim Pete is an illegal immigrant, which I’m sure that is totally false and he is legal to fly over here. Pete Townshend is not a pedophile. He was a victim of it himself when he was a child to do research which he proved.

These so called children organizations need to leave the man alone ’cause it’s obvious they are jealous that the Who finally got the opportunity to play the Superbowl which they will never get. The Who playing the Superbowl should have happened a long time ago. I’d say they should still play the gig, no matter what attacks them.

If the POC organization checks out this post and if they threaten me to take it down because I used the company’s name, I won’t… because they’ve been called out ’cause all they are trying to do is make Pete Townshend look bad out of jealousy rage. I’m not afraid to tell the truth, no matter the consequences.
