Report: Sylvester Stallone reveals casting of characters for “The Expendables”, plus, writes open letter to the Stallonezone message board…

So you make a fansite for one of your heroes, Sylvester Stallone, and you’re living under the delusion that you think the man isn’t reading your site? WRONG!!! Stallone, the man himself, writes an open letter to fans for the “Stallone Zone” message board sayin’ that he does read the posts in the message boards when he has the time.

See it here:

http://craigzablo.proboards18.com/index.cgi?board=SlyTalk&action=display&thread=6490

As you can see, Sly admits that he’s a little dissapointed of the negative feedback for having 50 Cent replacing Forest Whitaker. He is asking everyone to be positive about it, because this wasn’t the first time when people were negative over a replacement actor of Sly’s earlier films.

Sly has always been the guy that loves giving unknown actors a chance. When you’re an actor that is not too well known, and if you were on a movie with Sylvester Stallone, you know you’re going to be big and famous. Sly has made all these actors big and famous: Hulk Hogan, Dolph Lundgren, Sandra Bullock, Wesley Snipes, Sharon Stone, etc. The list goes on.

Remember when Sly had actress Julie Benz on the new “Rambo” movie? Nobody knew who she was, and now everyone does. That’s how Sly loves making new actors a star.

Sly sends AICN a list of what character that each actor in the film will be playing, check it out here:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/40487

Sigh, I’m a little jealous that Sly is writing to all these websites, but he doesn’t write to me! I’m hoping one day he does!

Sly’s right though, 50 Cent might be a great choice after all, we can’t negatively judge the movie when Sly hasn’t even started filming it. We just have to wait to see the actual film first, and then make our opinions.

Film Review: The Last House on the Left

Starring: Garret Dillahunt, Monica Potter, Sara Paxton, Michael Bowen

Directed By: Dennis Illiadis

This film is a remake of a 1972 film written/directed by horror legend, Wes Craven. I didn’t think this would be any good, I just saw it ’cause there was nothing else playing, and since I enjoy horror flicks on a regular basis, I decided to check this film out to make time fly by. Review of film below…

Plot/synopsis: A family whose name is the Collingwoods, go on a vacation trip, to their 2nd vacation home, which their vacation home is right near a lake. While the Collingwood’s daughter who name is Mari goes out to spend some time with her best friend, Paige as soon as they arrive at their vacation house. Mari and Paige meets a new friend, a young boy name Justin who the two girls parties with at some motel room. Suddenly, 2 men and another woman show up at the motel room which happens to be theirs.

The three people that walked in the room: Krug, Francis and Sadie happens to be dangerous gang members, who they helped Krug bust out of prison. Krug, Francis, and Sadie all kidnap the two young girls: Mari and Paige. Paige gets murdered by one of them, and Mari gets raped by Krug, and later shot in the back while swimming in the lake trying to escape.

After the hell raising moments: Krug, Francis, Sadie, and Justin has decided to crash for the night at the Collingwoods vacation home by politely asking the married couple for hospitality. The gang members pretended nothing has happened and acting like normal people, not criminals. The Collingwoods parents don’t even know their daughter, Mari, is in danger. The Collingwoods allow the four people to sleep in their home for the night, claiming they had a car accident on the way.

More hell breaks loose when the gang finds out this is the house that Mari lives in and she is still alive.

I was very surprised of the film. I was actually entertained and enjoyed it pretty much through out the film. I wasn’t bored and was kind of hooked. I didn’t see the original 1972 film but after seeing this, makes me want to see Wes Craven’s original.

This film kept you at the edge of your seat all the way through. The plot may sound kind of silly, but it’s kind of realistic if you think about it. You go on vacation to some far away place, and you never know, you can run into some very dangerous people. Yes, it can happen in real life. I think that’s what this movie wanted to show, that going on vacation isn’t always safe.

That’s as far as I’ll go with the plot, ’cause I don’t want to spoil things. I was surprised to see that I was the only person in the theater seeing this film. Yes, I was alone in the movie theater for this one. Oh well, I’m not heartbroken about it, ’cause I like watching films in peace and quiet. So I have a feeling that this film won’t do well in box office. Just because a film bombs in the box office, doesn’t mean it’s crap. I’ve seen plenty of great movies that bombed in theaters.

I honestly thought this was a pretty good film. Nothing excellent or amazing, but I was entertained. The killings in this film were pretty nasty, much nastier than the new “Friday the 13th” remake. I find it more of an action film, than horror, ’cause there is a lot of fighting in this movie. “Last House on the Left” remake, wasn’t bad at all. I really enjoyed the flick. Thumbs up!

Score for “Last House on the Left” = *** (3 stars as in good)

Commenting in blog advice, read up…

I know blog readers get pretty annoyed when I delete comments and not post ’em publicily, but hey, that’s life. Just my 2cents when you’re all posting comments in blogs. When you read my blog or anyone else’s blog on the internet, and if you decide to write in a comment, the blog owner has all the free right for he/she to do whatever they please with your comment.

It works that way with all blogs. Yes, this is America, there is Freedom of Speech and the first amendment, but that still does not give you the right to say whatever you please when you’re commenting on blogs. I’m not just talking about my blog, I’m talking about every blog on the internet.

If you own a blog or a website, you have the right to do whatever you want with it. That’s your given right. The freedom of speech and 1st amendment rights also give the freedom for blog owners to do whatever they want.

For example, if I post in commnents in someone else’s blog that’s not my own responding to someone else’s blog entry, if the blog owner doesn’t post it publicily or edits the posting to a positive manner, hey, that’s their right. I can’t do anything about it. Yelling and complaining to the blog owner isn’t going to help anything. Blog owners do whatever they want with their blog.

It’s their given right. You don’t have the right to tell the blog owner how to blog.

Just play civil here. You can agree or disagree on any topic you want, just no bullying, personal attacks. Heated debates are fine, just no bashing the blog owner for it. I will not approve comments bashing me or other local NY people.

I know my blog isn’t everyone’s favorite blog, but hey, that’s life. I can’t please everybody. I just blog as a little hobby, something I like to do. I don’t take it seriously, it’s just for fun, that’s all it is. I actually find it amusing and enjoy it when my blog fires people up ’cause that’s why I still do it anyways. Think whatever you want about my blog: hate it, love it, whatever. I’m glad that people are reading it whether it’s being made fun of or not. I don’t care. I use this blog publicly for me to speak my mind of whatever I want.

If you disagree with something of what I write about or feel offended about something I say here, e-mail me privately or comment me in the blog and discuss it with me. Treat me how you like to be treated here and it would make discussions much easier here. 🙂 Easy? Yes!

On a lighter note, I did go to the mall today, and saw the horror film, “The Last House On the Left” this afternoon in theater, I will write a review of it in a few minutes. I also picked up, “Resident Evil 5” for my Ps3, and 3 movies on DVD: “Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Edition”, “Red Belt” (an action movie that stars Tim Allen/Randy Couture), and “Serenity” (A sci fi action adventure movie that I heard was pretty good). Review of “The Last House on the Left”, film coming shortly!

Report: Forest Whitaker pulls out of “The Expendables”, 50 Cent to take over role?

Actor Forest Whitaker, announced he has pulled out of Stallone’s next movie, “The Expendables”, due to scheduling conflicts. Stallone says he is in negotiations with rapper 50 Cent, to take over the role.

AICN reports:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/40487

Disappointing news, I was looking forward to seeing Sly and Forest team up. I don’t agree with 50 Cent being in the movie. My pick would be either Denzel Washington or Jamie Foxx.

RIP: Natasha Richardson 1963 – 2009

I’m so heartbroken over this news, this is so sad. Natasha Richardson, who is a film actress and she is the wife of legendary actor, Liam Neeson, died today. Natasha was skiing at a ski resort in Montreal, she had an accident and fell. She was hospitalized Monday, accompanied by her husband Liam, and she was moved to a hospital in New York City. She was 45 years old.

My condolences goes out to Liam, his family and friends. This is horrible. This just proves that skiing is not always safe. I know, I used to be a downhill mountain skiier when I was a kid. RIP Natasha.

Confirmed: “The Expendables” gets a April 23rd, 2010 release date…

Lionsgate just confirmed a release date for Stallone’s next movie, “The Expendables”. The film will be released April 23rd, 2010. Look like this will be a big Spring movie where all the college kids are on Spring break, just around that time.

Maybe the film won’t even be PG-13, it could get a PG rating too. Either way. It’s a fact this movie is aiming for the younger generation. While Sly has done mostly “R-rated” violent films for most of his career, Sly knows he has a lot of young fans. When Sly did a PG or a PG-13 movie it is either a drama or family type of film. I don’t think Sly has ever done a PG-13 action flick. He wants an action flick that kids can actually watch. He wants an action film for the whole family.

Since UFC and WWE has mostly young fans, you know both fighting companies will heavily promote this film since this film has WWE’s Stone Cold and UFC’s Randy Couture in the movie. I think this movie will be an automatic box office smash of the year. “The Expendables” could be the “Dark Knight” of 2009. I really do think this movie will be the most successful film of the year.

“The Expendables” will be a lot of fun. I hope Sly makes it a 2 hour film, not a short 90 minute flick. I also wonder who will score the music for the movie, too? I hope he gets a good composer for the film.

Thought: The WWE shouldn’t be the blame for wrestler deaths…

I am so tired of people and the media blaming the WWE for wrestler deaths. Most wrestlers that die of either steroids or drug overdoses, didn’t work for the WWE anyway. Most of them were “fired” from the WWE in real life because they failed their wellness policy. That is the reason Andrew Martin was released from the WWE ’cause he failed the wellness policy.

The WWE does NOT hand these wrestlers drugs so they can get buffed up and muscular for matches. The wrestlers brought all of this upon themselves. All of these wrestlers that die of drugs was their own fault. They had chosen to get addicted, that’s what they did.

All WWE’s job is to entertain wrestling fans all over the world and keep the business alive, that’s all they care about.

Nobody knows how Andrew Martin died, because his cause of death hasn’t been revealed to the public yet, but if it indeed turned out to be drugs, I have a feeling the media will be blaming the WWE, non stop. The media has been blaming the WWE everytime a wrestler died ever since the Chris Benoit double murder/suicide controversy.

The wrestlers are human beings, so they make decisions on their own, and they made the decision to get addicted to drugs. I think, that anybody that gets addicted to drugs whether it’s steroids, pain killers, alcohol, coke, heroin, acid, etc. is suicidal. Really think about it. Drugs is suicide.

The WWE will always be alive. The WWE will always go on forever even when Vince McMahon is not around. They are not going to get shut down because of all of these wrestler deaths. The wellness policy in the WWE is there for a reason, to help their superstars.

Really, you have to look at all sports that uses drugs. Look at all these baseball stars that are admitting to using them too. Profesional boxers and UFC fighters probably use ’em all the time also.

I hate how muscular guys are an easy target. They always get blamed for everything.

Report: Phish add more shows to their tour, and yes, they are coming to Saratoga Springs at SPAC!!!

Trey Anastasio and the original members of the jam band, Phish, has officially reunited. The band has already been playing a few concerts over the U.S. They added some more gigs to their tour. The band is making a stop to SPAC in Saratoga Springs on August 16th of this summer. I think I’m definitely getting inside tickets for this one.

I have seen Phish live once before and wouldn’t mind seeing them again. I also saw Trey Anastasio solo concert before as well, so that makes it two times I’ve seen Trey on stage. The jam band concerts are such a blast! I love going to them.

See if the band is playing around your area here:

Report: Michael Bay denies 2011 release for “Transformers 3”, it’s being released in 2012…

Michael Bay corrected the mistake on the release date that Paramount Pictures made. Paramount announced that “Transformers 3” is being released in 2011, but Michael said it’s being released, 2012. He says he wants to take a year off of directing Transformers films. I can’t blame him! Sounds like he’s getting tired of it already!

“Transformers 2:  Revenge of the Fallen” hits theaters June 24th, and looking forward to seeing that film as well.
