Netflix Pick (DVD): Foo Fighters “Back and Forth”

Over the weekend, I’ve been watching movies on Netflix, both streamable and DVD. Well just earlier tonight, I just watched the Foo Fighters rockumentary, “Back and Forth”. The Foo Fighters is a band who I admired for years. They maybe mainstream and iconic, but they are one of the only mainstream acts that can make great rock music. They are very talented rock songwriters. Of course, Dave’s songwriting was mostly influenced from Kurt Cobain. In the film, he explained how Kurt was the one that got him into songwriting.

The film started off with Nirvana history. After Kurt committed suicide, Dave explained he wanted nothing to do with music for a while. So he made a demo on a cassette tape with the name Foo Fighters on it. The first album was all Dave. He recorded the album himself and recorded all instruments himself. At first, he didn’t want a big career out of music, but something happened to him that made him want to start a career. So he wanted his second album to be with an actual band. The Foos got bigger and bigger each album, and now they are mainstream stars.

The film spans their entire career, giving behind the scenes insight on the recording of each album which is interesting. Did you know that Dave was almost a full time member of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers? It’s true. Dave came really close to joining the Heartbreakers, but then he had to tell Tom “No,”, Dave wanted to do his own project.

What I liked most about the film is the recording for their new album, “Wasted Light”, which was recorded in Dave’s garage at his home. He wanted the album to be old school. He wanted that album to sound like it was recorded at your home. They recorded it on tape, instead of using Pro Tools. The Foo’s “Wasted Light” album is the best album of 2011. It’s a really incredible album, I couldn’t stop listening to it all year.

The interviews were entertaining but I thought Taylor Hawkins and Dave gave the best interviews out of everyone though. This was a very inspiring film and I think it’s better than “Pearl Jam 20”. Whether you’re a longtime Foo’s fan or never heard of them before, you should watch this anyway. It’ll make you understand the band better. Over the years, the Foos been wrongly criticized by some music fans and critics, and I think this film was used to help defend themselves. They do a good job of it too. Check this film out.

Other movies I watched on Netflix over the weekend, which were John Carpenter’s new horror film, “The Ward”, “Limitless” with Bradley Cooper, and “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night” a horror/comedy with Brandon Routh, all 3 streamable. Those three films sucked, I hated all 3 of them, but I finally watched something I liked this weekend which was the Foo Fighters, “Back and Forth” movie, Netflix DVD.

I love Netflix. So many people talk a lot of shit about Netflix and their company lately, but I’ll always support them. They need some help and I’m willing to stick with them, I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Thought: About Herman Cain dropping the Election today…

While it wasn’t really a surprise that Herman Cain was going to drop out of the President Election today, you really shouldn’t believe those accusers. You know, the women who accused him of sexual harassment and having affairs. I’m looking at facebook, twitter, etc. Pretty much everyone believed those women and thinks Herman has problems with women.

Herman didn’t have to quit the election. This is the whole part of running for President. You have to deal with attacks and lots of bad publicity. If you can’t put up with the negativity & attacks, then you shouldn’t run at all. Mitt Romney hasn’t stepped down yet because people attacked his views on religion.

Back to Herman Cain, I believe that he is an innocent man. Like I said before, I believe those women are just lying bitches, trying to humiliate him publicly. Doing whatever it takes to get him off and stop him from running for President. I’m not a Herman Cain supporter. I don’t like his views on politics and I don’t like that he worked for Federal Reserve either, but that still doesn’t mean you can come out and slander a guy about a crime that he didn’t commit.

If that was me, I would have kept going in the election. I would have ignored all the negativity, and would have did my thing. I just couldn’t believe the internet today. Everyone thinks Herman is a terrible person, but I think he looks innocent and harmless. It’s just women trying to make him look bad.

You can’t always believe these women, folks. These women are probably getting paid to destroy this guy anyway. Herman will probably sue them all and he’ll prove his innocence the hard way. In the court room.

I may not be a big fan of his politics, but that doesn’t make him a bad person. If you’re going to come out and accuse someone of something, at least have proof of it. Words from the mouth of a human being is not proof. It’s all just talk, ya know?

This whole thing was nothing but a soap opera. That’s what the Elections to be like these days. If it turned out that he did harassed and had affairs with these women, then that’s his business. These women should be proud of themselves because they got what they wanted. Don’t always feel sorry for the women because they can be just as evil as the men can.

Thought: I think Herman Cain is completely innocent and those women need to back the hell off…

This President hopeful, Herman Cain, is in the news a lot lately because he’s being accused of sexual harassment and being accused of having affairs with more than one woman. He’s losing a lot of support in his campaign because of it, and he’s being talked about all over. Facebook has been all over it.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been staying away from politics discussion lately. Why? Because it’s getting boring to me now.

As far as Herman goes, I think he is a 100% innocent. All of these women are coming forward, because he’s black and they’re just doing whatever it takes to get him out of the Presidential race. All those women attacking him are just lying whores trying to make a name for themselves in the news.

I’m no fan of Herman Cain’s political views myself, but those women should really leave the guy alone and back the hell off. He shouldn’t step down. He should rise above the negativity and keep going.

Report: Jimmy Fallon set to release new comedy album…

Jimmy Fallon, the former Saturday Night Live cast member and current host of NBC “Late Night”, is set to release a new comedy album through Warner Bros. records. The album will include original songs, parodies, and other things. This would make Jimmy’s second album since, “The Bathroom Wall”, released in 2002.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

So is the album going to be backed up the by, The Roots? Probably. If the album doesn’t have his song of the parody of, “Whip My Hair”, with Bruce Springsteen, I’m not buying it. I’m pretty sure that song will be on the album ’cause that performance on his show was a hit.

I admire Jimmy Fallon’s talent. He’s a very talented man and funny as hell. I try to watch him every night, but I fall asleep a lot. Not because I’m bored, but it’s because I get sleepy around that time. Jimmy is quite a guy and he does a good job hosting a late night show.

Don’t be jealous of others who are in great shape…

There is this fitness trainer in facebook named Heather Frey from SmashFit, who posted this little fitness motivation tip, that I thought it was pretty inspiring, I thought I would pass it along here.

“Don’t be jealous of, or envy those super fit people. Don’t think for one minute they are any better than you. The only thing they have that you don’t, is ACTION. They took all the same *desire and want* you have but they didn’t sit on it, they ACTION-ized it. They stood up to their bad habits, they walked away from temptation and they pushed themselves when they didn’t feel like it. That is the only thin veil between them and you. THAT could be you. -Heather Frey”

Here’s her post here to give her credit.

I’m never jealous of other people if they are in better shape than me. I know some people who are in better shape than me, but I look at them for inspiration and motivation as an idea of how I would want to look like.

She’s so right, that just because people are in perfectly good shape successfully, doesn’t mean they are better or stronger than you. There are too many in good shape people who go around acting like they are better than others when they aren’t really.

I may have a decent start in fitness, and I may be in decent shape now, but I still have ways to go, and lots to learn. I also never acted like I’m better than others.

That was a pretty inspiring post. If you know people who are in way better shape than you, don’t let it bring you down. If that’s who you want to be is a super fit person, then take your time, keep it up and you’ll get there.

I want to become the best shape of my life someday but I’m not rushing it.

Cool Video: See how Sophia’s zombie makeup was done for the “Walking Dead” barn shootout…

Here’s another great behind the scenes clip of Madison Lintz getting her zombie makeup done for her controversial scene for “Walking Dead”, season 2 mid-season finale. The zombie barn shoot out.

While it’s sad that Madison is all done with the “Walking Dead”, this will for sure open up more acting opportunities for her up ahead. She’s an unknown actress, and she just became a superstar because of that one scene. She’s got a big career ahead of her. I can see other horror films going to want her now, lol. Could she star in a zombie film down the road? I can definitely see it happening.

I give her a whole lot of respect. It must of been really hard for the film makers to get her parents approval to playing a zombie. I’m sure Madison’s mother was difficult about it at first, ha!

Madison did a great job and I hope she wins some kind of award for that scene.

See the clip, here.

Cool Video: Arya shows off her new look for “Game of Thrones” Season 2 in this behind the scenes clip…

Maisie Williams, the actress who plays Arya Stark, in HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” shows off her new look for Season 2. She looks more like a boy now ’cause that’s how she was in the books. I love the new look and can’t wait for “Season 2”, to come back. Other than “Walking Dead” and “Dexter”, “Game of Thrones” is another favorite show of mine.

Check out the video, here.
