Report: Jeff Bridges set to release debut solo album with producer T-Bone Burnett…

There have been a lot of actors turned musicians over the years. They all start off with their careers in their movies, but their success in the movies have helped them get record deals. There are plenty of “actors turned musicians” such as Billy Bob Thornton, Steven Seagal, Kevin Costner, Bruce Willis, Kevin Bacon, Dan Aykroyd, Jack Black, Jared Leto, Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Steve Martin, Russell Crowe, etc. Jeff Bridges will join that bandwagon.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently just turned into a singer for her film, “Country Strong”, but will she release a solo album too after all the recognition she’s getting for her music? Wouldn’t surprise me if she has an album coming too.

Jeff will release several of his own original songs he wrote himself and he will sing some cover songs on his album.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

How much do you want to bet that Jeff is going to land a bunch of Grammy awards for this album since T-Bone is producing. Wouldn’t surprise me either.

Report: Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt signed to “Dark Knight: Rises”, also their roles revealed…

“Inception” stars, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard have been officially signed to the “Dark Knight: Rises” by Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. Cotillard will be playing Miranda Tate is who is a Wayne Enterprises board member and Gordon-Levitt plays a cop who is under the command of Commisioner Gordon.

Deadline, reports.

So this is why there is no new “Superman” news this week, because Warner Bros. and Chris Nolan were busy casting these two for the next Batman flick.

These two could possibly be playing good characters, not villain. Still though, Miranda Tate could possibly be a villain. She could actually be Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra Al Ghul (who Batman killed in “Batman: Begins”). Talia back to kill Batman for the revenge of her father. I bet Talia hires Bane (Tom Hardy) to do the job. While Anne Hathaway is confirmed to be Catwoman, I don’t think Catwoman will be a villain in this one. It’s possible Catwoman could help Batman out.

The plot for the “Dark Knight: Rises” haven’t been revealed yet, but what I explained above is just my guess. We’ll see how this plot plays out.

Report: Sarah Lane vs. “Black Swan” film makers feud isn’t over…

Just a while back Darren Aronofsky responded to Sarah Lane’s slanderous comments that she claims Natalie Portman did less dances than her, for the movie, “Black Swan”. He said he went through the editor to count every dance move with both women. Turns out Natalie had the most.

Sarah Lane herself, appears on “20/20” for an interview to talk about this controversy, and Sarah claims the film makers of “Black Swan” are lying.

Read more on the story, here.

If Sarah can somehow prove that she did the most dance moves, then maybe I’ll be on her side. At this time, I’m still siding with Natalie and the rest of the film makers. Sarah needs to prove that they are lying.

On a side note, looking at Sarah in this article, man, she looks almost exactly like Natalie Portman. Are they twin sisters? No wonder she was hired. Darren could be counting the wrong woman during the counts of the edit scenes because they both look exactly the same. Never know.

Report: Nick Cassavette’s pulls out of “Gotti: Three Generations”…

Pictured above: Travolta, Gotti Junior, and Lindsay Lohan.

Director, Nick Cassavettes pulled out of directing “Gotti: Three Generations”, the John Gotti “Dapper Don” biopic film, due to scheduling conflicts. Cassavettes committed himself to do a different independent film titled, “Yellow”. The producers of the Gotti film are looking for a replacement director.

More on it, here.

Looking at the pic above, it seems that Travolta gets along with Lindsay quite well. If she can keep herself out of jail, then maybe she’ll actually be in this movie.

Report: Matt Reeves will direct, “The Passage”, based on the vampire novel…

Sick of the new vampire trend in Hollywood films? Well, you’re going to be pulling your hair out in frustration some more because vampires in the movies isn’t going away anytime soon. Matt Reeves, “The Cloverfield”, and “Let Me In” director have been hired to direct “The Passage” which will be adapted by the book by Justin Cronin. It’s a vampire apocalypse story about a science experiment that goes wrong and vampires take over the world.

Deadline, reports.

I don’t think this one is aimed toward the young adult audience this time. Sounds like an adult movie. The plot sounds good. I might have to give this book a read sometime too.

Report: “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” finally gets a director…

Lionsgate has finally found a director for the horror film, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”, which will be adapted by the book, written by Seth Grahame-Smith. The story has been mixed with Jane Austen’s 1813 novel, “Pride & Prejudice”. Seth Grahame-Smith re-wrote her book into his version mixing zombies into the story. Craig Gillespie is the director of films such as “Mr. Woodcock” starring Billy Bob Thornton and “Lars and the Real Girl” starring Ryan Gosling.

Hopefully Gillespie will stay committed to this movie and not back out like the last two directors did. I still haven’t read, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”, yet, but I plan to pick it up soon.

Deadline, reports.

BREAKING NEWS: Stallone confirms he won’t be directing “The Expendables” sequel!!!

There were a lot of rumors and speculation that Sly Stallone will go back to directing “The Expendables” sequel. Well the man himself, confirms he won’t be helming the flick. However, he will still reprise his leading role as Barney Ross for the sequel.

The plan for the next film is that they want Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger to play leading roles for the next one.

It is not known whether or not some of the other cast members will return, but Dolph Lundgren and Jason Statham still want to return to the film. Plus, I’m sure the next movie, will add a bunch more action movie stars.

Deadline, reports.

I still say that Sly’s director replacement should be Dolph Lundgren. I still stand by it.

Cool Video: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows – part 2” trailer is finally here…

The next Harry Potter movie, “The Deathly Hollows – part 2” will possibly be a shorter movie then the others. Possibly, an hour and thirty minute film, not sure, ’cause the rest of the book is short. The next film looks very impressive and can’t wait to see it.

Take a look at the trailer, here.

Netflix Pick: Red Cliff (Theatrical Version)

So earlier this afternoon, I finally saw the John Woo directed, Chinese action-war film, “Red Cliff” (the theatrical version) on Netflix.

This film has been pretty controversial in Hollywood around the time this film came out in 2008. The film was originally a 2 part movie that was released in Asia only. Then the U.S. gets the 2 and a half hour theater version. I would like to see the original at some point, maybe the full two part movie will be out on DVD, I’ll have to look it up.

This film is taken place in AD 208, and it was about the Han Dynasty. The story tells about a man named Cao Cao, who is a power hungry General and Prime Minister who convinces the weak-willed emperor that two rebellious leaders, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan must be stopped… Cao Cao’s antagonists also include the brilliant strategist Zhuge Liang and the heroic warrior Zhou Yu, whose wife, Lin Chiling, is a legendary beauty. Cao Cao has huge power and also he has many warships, and his own army as well. The Eastern Wu forces go to war against Cao Cao, to protect their land and save their people.

Well, this was a pretty interesting movie. I thought I was going to be bored to death watching this film, but the film kept me entertained all the way through. The story was pretty interesting. I don’t know much about Chinese history but after seeing this film, kind of makes me want to get into it more. I think this is John Woo’s best film. I’ve seen a lot of John Woo’s films so I know his directing style.

If you like Chinese foreign movies, you would find this one a little different than the others. The writing is actually good. It was pretty interesting watching Chinese actors pull off an interesting story. It’s a very violent movie with a lot of epic action scenes. Some pretty creative action scenes. There are martial arts fighting in the film, of course, but there is way more than that. There are a lot of fire and explosions in the battle scenes toward the end. The major battle scene at the end will leave you wanting some more. This film was kind of breathtaking.

The ending is pretty surprising too. I won’t tell what happened at the end, you’ll have to see the film for yourself. It was a pretty brutal war movie. I really enjoyed this film, very much. It’s kind of like, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” but a little different. If you have Netflix, you should seriously check this one out.

Report: Faora will be the leading villain for “Superman”? Plus, planet Krypton revealed and other Superman news…

The Latino Review leaked a little bit of “Superman” plot points a little early. These are just “rumors” so don’t believe it as of this moment. Faora will be the main villain for Superman. Planet Krypton will NOT be a crystal planet like you see in the beginning of “Superman: The Movie”. Warner Bros., Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder are all interested in Daniel Day-Lewis for the role of Jor-El (Superman’s biological father). You will see both Jor-El and Lara (Superman’s kryptonian Mom) in the beginning of the film. The story of “The Man of Steel” will be an origin story much like, “Batman: Begins”. The story will cover everything about the life of Superman from his birth on Krypton all the way to how he became Superman in Metropolis.

So General Zod may not be the film’s leading villain then, Faora will be the leading villain? Zod will only get a small role? For those who don’t know much about the Faora character, read more about her, here.

If you read Faora’s wikipedia, you can see that she was a very important part of Superman’s history, that Donner’s “Superman: The Movie”, never used. So it does make a lot of sense to use her and I’m glad they’re using a different villain this time. She was never used in any of the films.Well Faora was used for the TV show, “Smallville”, but not the movies.

While it must be frustrating and annoying to fans that they are using another “origin” story for Superman. They have to. Like I said Warner Bros./DC are at war with the Seigel heirs. They need to do the origin story fast because they’ll lose it all in 2013. Please try to understand that. Plus, how else are you going to start a Superman story when they are going to reboot it? Might as well start all over again.

Yes, I’m sure Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan’s version of “Superman” will probably start on planet Krypton, then they will go to Smallville where Clark Kent grew up to become Superman, and all the Metropolis stuff at the end of the film. I just think Christohper Nolan’s version of the Superman origin story will be much better. I trust both him and Zack.

Warner Bros. will probably make another casting announcement this Sunday because they seem to be announcing a new cast member every Sunday. Who will it be this Sunday? Will they announce who will be playing, Faora? I bet Faora is next, if possible. Maybe Lex Luthor will be next to be casted. Then they need to cast someone for Lana Lang (if they use her), Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and Superman’s real mother, Lara.

I support them in this project, 100%. I believe it will be a great movie. Hopefully they keep the John Williams score, though. That’s important, I hope they don’t ignore that legendary opening theme song.
