Report: Not only a bunch of Hasbro board games are coming to the big screen, toys like Barbie, Hot Wheels, He-Man, etc., are also coming…

It seems that Hollywood can make a movie based on everything these days. A while back, Hasbro board  game company has collaborated with Hollywood studios to make their board games into films like “Monopoly”, “Candyland”, “Battleship”, “Ouija Board”, etc. Just recently legendary film director, Ridley Scott has been signed to helm the “Monopoly” movie. All of this was because of the successful “Transformers” film directed by Michael Bay and stars Shia Labeouf.

More famous toys have been greenlit to be made in live action motion pictures. Of course, everyone knows that there is a “Masters of the Universe” re-boot in the works which the script is being written by Justin Marks. The new “Masters of the Universe” film will be helmed by Joel Silver.

Warner Bros. has a “Hot Wheels” movie in the works which the script is written by Matt Nixx. There is also a “Barbie” live action movie in the works which will be based on the iconic doll that has been around since 1959, a Barbie doll toy that is aimed toward toddler girls.

There is also all kinds of iconic toys of all times being made into films.

I definitely am looking forward to the new “He-Man” flick, I hope they make the new “He-Man” movie better than the Dolph Lundgren version.

Hate the Barbie toys or love ’em, I think the Barbie movie will be good for the little daughters for those who have families out there if they make the film right for the kids to enjoy. It’s nothing I would see of course, but for you parents out there who have a little daughter, hope Hollywood makes the film enjoyable for the parents to see also.

I can see the Hot Wheels movie being a good action movie ride depending on what the story is to that one.

These toys and board games being made into films is interesting to me and I’m looking forward to seeing how they are going to pull these off. They already tried it with “Clue” that stars Tim Curry and that was a great film too.

Report: James Cameron’s “The Terminator” blasts it’s way to the Library of Congress in the film registry…

“The Terminator” that stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Michael Beihn is now added to the National Film Registry in the Library of Congress, amongst other classics. Just the first “Terminator” only that was directed by Jimmy Cameron, not the other three Terminator films.

Everybody loves “T2:  Judgement Day” to be the best Terminator film of the series, but honestly, I find that the first Terminator is the best of the series. I honestly love Arnold as the bad guy Terminator way more.

Report: Fox vs. Warner Bros. feud won’t end anytime soon, studios will still battle over “Watchmen”…

Fox wants to battle Warner Bros. for the “Watchmen” movie? Well Warner Bros. studios is not backing down for a settlement or an appeal. Warner Bros. said, “BRING IT ON FOX”, the fight is still going on!!!

The Jan. 20th trial is still on and I too am looking forward to that day to see how that feud is going to play out. That Jan. 20th trial will be pretty heated. I’m sure the trial will be full of back and forth shouting.

I’m still feeling that WB’s will win, they’ll figure a way to buy the distrubition rights with good attorney’s.

Celebrating the work of Ron Howard…

Ron Howard, who is most famous for directing such iconic movies with some big name stars and most famous for playing the role of Richard Cunningham in the hit TV series “Happy Days”, celebrates his 50 years of working on film. In the 50’s, he started off as an actor…acting in various TV shows and movies. As time went along, Howard moved on to directing and acting both at the same time. Later on, Howard gave up on acting for good and just concentrated on directing only.

My top 5 favorite Ron Howard films here in order, these are in my opinion his best directed films:

1. A Beautiful Mind

2. Willow

3. The Missing

4. Splash

5. Appollo 13

Feel free to name your favorites.

Brock’s Final Top 10 Movies of 2008!!!

Here is my final top 10 movies of 2008. I’ve already did the top 5 but considering that New  Year’s is just a few days away, I figure I would write down my final top 10. I will post without photos and with no explanation. These are my favorite movies of 2008.

I haven’t seen “Milk”, “Slumdog Millionaire”, “Frost/Nixon”, “Gran Torino”, and “Marley and Me” yet, so don’t complain to me that I didn’t list them. 🙂

My top favorite films of 2008 here:

1. The Dark Knight

2. Rambo

3. Indiana Jones/The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

4. Changeling

5. Valkyrie

6. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

7. Wall-E

8. Tropic Thunder

9. The Incredible Hulk

10. Get Smart

Sorry, “Iron Man” fans. “Iron Man” is entertaining but kind of overrated, I find “The Incredible Hulk” to be the better Marvel movie of this year. 😉

Report: Judge wants Warner Bros. to settle “Watchmen” with Fox or make an appeal…

Judge Feess says that Warner Bros. should settle with Fox or make an appeal, if they still want to release the March 6th picture of the comic book superhero movie “Watchmen”.

The “Watchmen” trial is still on for Jan. 20th however, WB’s must be prepared for a settlement. The Warner Bros. version of the movie could possibly still be released, but it’s now all up to FOX if they want it released.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117997778.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

If FOX allows Warner Bros. to release it, the film would have to be released and distributed under the FOX name with the Warner Bros. name not being used in the opening credits, that’s how I could see it being done.

It would be sad if FOX bans Warner Bros. version, just so FOX can make their own version. I really hope FOX will have a heart by releasing it under their name but I seriously doubt that will happen. FOX would want to make their own version of “Watchmen”, but we’ll wait and see what happens.

If FOX does let Warner Bros. release it, then I’ll have a change of heart with FOX as well. The Warner Bros. version seems like a lot of work and a high budget movie, it be a waste of money and waste of time for them if their version don’t get released at all. Lets cross our fingers if FOX will let them release it. If not, then boycott Twentieth Century Fox.

Report: “Marley and Me” still tops box office weekend with 37 million…

The Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston movie, “Marley and Me” still tops the box office this Christmas weekend. “Marley and Me” made a whopping 37 million in total. Adam Sandler’s Disney flick “Bedtime Stories” quickly moved up to no. 2 with 28.1 million as expected. “Benjamin Button” sinks down to no. 3 with 27 million. “Valkyrie” moves up to no. 4 with 21. 5 million. “The Spirit” is still not getting any higher as it made only 6.5 million, poor Frank Miller.

The Associated Press reports:

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jb68x_tOGx8QHjI0Cr6C-Vy79OGgD95BSIHG0

This is good news for “Valkyrie” though, with that film only making 21.5 million, it’s still not bad and still considered a successful movie. If “Valkyrie” wasn’t released on Christmas with all them other movies, I’m sure “Valkyrie” would have made a lot more. Bryan Singer should have waited to release it in the Spring and it would gaurunteed be a smash hit. “Valkyrie” had so many push backs on the release date that I guess they had no choice but to release it on Christmas Day.
