BREAKING NEWS: BILL MURRAY SAID HE’S GAME FOR “GHOSTBUSTERS 3”!!!!!!!!!

This is great news!

Bill Murray who attended Fantastic Fest to promote his latest movie the “City of Ember”, he did a Q&A session on stage to answer fan questions from the audience.

Of course, someone just had to ask him if he’s willing to star in “Ghostbusters 3” to reprise his role as Peter Venkmen. Murray says he already knew that “The Office” writers were on board to writing the script. Murray went on explaining that enough time has passed and all the wounds were healed from “Ghostbusters 2”, he went on explaining how the first Ghostbusters film was the best experience in his life.

As we all know, in the past Bill Murray used to be harsh on returning to Ghostbusters 3 saying that he wouldn’t come back in the live action unless it was animated or a video game. In this video, Bill admitted his excitement for a “Ghostbusters 3” live action film grew in him after doing voice overs in the video game, he finds himself singing the Ghostbusters theme song as he’s walking down the street. Then he revealed the big news that he would definitely love to star in “Ghostbusters 3”!!!!!!

See the report at Aint It Cool:

Well Bill Murray is down, three more to go. We now need to hear from Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis if they are still willing to star in it.

We already heard from Ramis, he was the one who revealed that the Office writers were writing the film, but that doesn’t mean Ramis is starring in it, he was pretty quiet on whether he’s starring in it or not.

I’m sure the rest of the cast would be in. Hopefully Sigourney and Rick would be in too.

Film Review: Burn After Reading…

Starring: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton

Directed by: Joel and Ethan Coen

Just saw the movie “Burn After Reading” this afternoon, the new Coen Bros. movie. I saw this movie ’cause I like the Coen Bros. work and I saw this because Clooney, Pitt and Malkovich are all starring in a movie together which is great casting.

The plot centers on a CIA analyst named Osbourne Cox (who is played by John Malkovich) quits his job after being accused of being an alcoholic when he wasn’t. Then he begins to work on a book based on his life in the CIA. Osbourne’s wife wants to divorce him, she then makes a copy of a computer disc full of his personal and financial files that were in his own privacy.

The disc ends up up at a business called Hardbodies which is a work out gym, Brad Pitt’s character, Chad, first gets a hold of it, he teams up with his fellow co-worker Linda to use the disk to blackmail Osbourne so she can get the money to pay for her cosmetic surgery.

Linda (played by Frances McDormand) is a single woman who dates men off dating services, where she meets George Clooney’s character, Harry. Linda is only using Harry because he is a Treasury (someone who works for the US Government).

Does Osbourne Cox get his personal disc back and does he save himself from getting blackmailed by Linda and Chad? You’ll have to watch the film yourself to find out.

As far as my thoughts on the film, while I do love the Coen Bros. While I do love George Clooney, PItt and Malkovich. I thought this was a bad film. Bad acting. Bad writing. Boring story. Slow pacing. It was a real snooze fest. This is probably the worst film of 2008. I didn’t like it. It’s a shame because the Coen Bros. are great film makers and I loved every film they did until now.

I prefer their earlier work. Their last film “No Country For Old Men” was absolutely amazing. What a dissapointment that they went from Oscar award winning film to a horrible film. Thumbs down to “Burn After Reading”. What was Pitt, Clooney and Malkovich smoking when they signed to this? They probably didn’t like the story either, they probably starred in it ’cause the Coen Bros. directed it.

Score for “Burn After Reading” = * (1 star as in poor)

Report: Warner Bros. greenlights “I Am Legend” prequel…with Will Smith returning…

Warner Bros. studios has greenlighted a prequel to the hit film “I Am Legend” that stars Will Smith. Since the film made a sky rocketing $584 million worldwide, Warner Bros. wanted to keep the franchise going but since it is difficult to make a sequel of the film, it’s leading character was killed at the end, they had no choice but to make it a prequel instead to keep Will Smith as the leading star.

Will Smith is set to return as Robert Neville and director Francis Lawrence is set to return to direct again.

The prequel will focus on the final days of humanity in New York City before a man-made virus caused a plague that made Neville the only survivor. The prequel will explain why the virus turned human beings into monsters. The film will probably show Neville’s normal life before the city was attacked.

Good idea for a prequel. I liked “I Am Legend” it was entertaining. There are lots of unexplained questions in the film that needs to be answered and there is a need of a prequel I think. I’d say bring it on! I’d go see it.

I like the National Treasure films. I’ve seen the first two in theater and will probably end up seeing the third one as well. The 2nd one was ok and pretty fun, but I hope the third one will be a great one this time.

Oprah Winfrey, America’s legendary TV talk show host will star and do voice overs in the upcoming new Disney animated flick “The Princess and the Frog”. Oprah will voice the character Eudora the mother of the main character Princess Tiana.

The film is set to release sometime in 2009 and will be worked on in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Randy Newman composed some of the music for the film as well.

Oprah has previously done animated work for Jerry Seinfeld’s “Bee Movie” and “Charlotte’s Web”.

Expect Oprah to plug this movie pretty heavily on her TV show. She’ll invite the entire cast and crew on her show like the last two movies she did.

I don’t really care for Oprah that much but her acting was fantastic in Spielberg’s “The Color Purple” though, that’s the only thing I give her respect for.

Look like Johnny Depp is going to be one busy man in Hollywood!

He is not only confirmed to star as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”, he is also set to return for “Pirates of the Carribean 4” to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow once more. He is also set to star in “The Lone Ranger” remake.

More blockbusters for Johnny. I thought Disney was done with the Pirates of the Carribean films? I thought wrong.

I loved the first Carribean movie, hated the second one, and didn’t even see the third one yet. I lost interest in the Carribean flicks. If the 4th one gets my attention enough, I might see it in theater depending on how good it looks. I’m not such a fan of those movies anymore.

How many more Depp/Burton films are we going to see? I like both of those guys, but come on, it seems that they can’t get enough of each other.

When will Tim Burton ever do an original film again?

Report: Billy Bob Thornton hints at retiring from Hollywood… and also shoots down playing Freddy Kreuger rumours…

Billy Bob Thornton who is 53 years old now has spoke out to MTV News that he maybe retiring from Hollywood movies. He’s done so much movies over the years that he’s getting tired of it that he is thinking about hanging it up. Not for good though. He explains he’ll still do a movie once in a while if they’ll call him first and if he needs the money. He also explains that he wants to get serious in his music career more than film. He also says he wants to direct a few more movies and write another screenplay before he’s done.

He also shot down the rumours of playing Freddy Krueger in the “Nightmare on Elm St.” remake.

MTV Movies Blog reports:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/09/24/is-billy-bob-thornton-retiring-from-acting-sort-of-he-says/#more-4846

Well, there you have it folks. No Billy Bob for Freddy. Oh well.

It kind of sucks that Billy Bob is retiring this soon because he’s one of my favorite actors. If Sly Stallone, Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas are still acting, you’re never too old to retire from hollywood.

Should Billy Bob do a sequel to “Sling Blade” by reprising his role as Karl Childers? I’d say bring it on. “Sling Blade” is a great movie and I would love a sequel if that’s one of Billy Bob’s plans before retiring.
