BREAKING NEWS: I ain’t afraid of no ghost…Columbia gearing up for new Ghostbusters film, writers found….

Columbia pictures is now getting serious on bringing the Ghostbusters back to the big screen. My guess is that they finally decided to start work on a new film after the video game of the franchise is being made.

Columbia has signed Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write the script for the new “Ghostbusters” film. They are the producers of “The Office” TV series. Columbia says Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson could return as their original characters but it is said that the film will pass the torch to new ghost chasers.

Columbia is keeping plot ideas underwraps and keeping quiet whether or not this is a third film of the “Ghostbusters” movie franchise to make it a full trilogy.

The studios tried to greenlight a 3rd Ghostbusters before but it was difficult to do financially, they said it was impossible for the studio to make money off a third installment, now they say it is not an issue. They allow no more than 25% of first dollar gross out the door. Meaning that this is now good news of a possibility of a third film being made.

So does this mean that Peter, Ray, Winston and Egon will be training and teaching new Ghostbusters for the next film? Sounds like it to me. As long as the original actors are still in the movie whether they get a big role or not, I’ll go see it. Look like they’ll be training younger Ghostbusters and that sounds like the plot that Columbia is going for.

I hope this is a Ghostbusters 3 and hope Columbia still have Bill, Dan, Harold and Ernie star in it. I bet the new video game helped keep the Ghostbusters movie going forward.

BREAKING NEWS: Robert Deniro pulls out of “Edge of Darkness” film that stars Mel Gibson in the leading role…

Robert Deniro who was recently casted as one of the leading stars for the “Edge of Darkness” film that stars Mel Gibson, pulled out of the film and quit. Shooting of the movie began Aug. 18th, Robert Deniro showed up on set the day he was scheduled to work, he just walked off before the film crew got a chance to film him.

One of Robert Deniro’s spokesman said “Sometimes things don’t work out, it’s called creative differences”. Meaning that an actor doesn’t like their work on a film.

Variety Reports:

This will probably hurt the box office. Look like our dreams of Deniro and Gibson teaming up in a film are over. Oh well. Life goes on.

Film Review: Tropic Thunder

Starring: Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey

Directed by: Ben Stiller

So I went to the mall today and finally got around to seeing the movie “Tropic Thunder” directed by Ben Stiller who also stars the leading role himself. The movie is basically about three men Tugg Speedman (Stiller), Kirk Lazarus (Downey Jr.) and Jeff Portnoy (Black) are making a high budget war movie, things in the film they were making were going so good until freak accidents happen during the making of the film. The three film makers are attacked and Speedman have been kidnapped by their enemies called The Flaming Dragon gang which is a gang that makes heroine drugs.

Jack Black’s character Jeff Portnoy is a heroine addict and all he thinks about is doing heroine, he was half scared and half excited going to the Dragons village where they make heroine ’cause he couldn’t wait to get his hands on some. Their film making ways get turned into real life and the actors are forced to portray their characters in real life instead of film in order to get out of the jungle to survive from the evil Dragon gang.

My thoughts on the film? It is one of the most funniest comedies in a long time, it was outrageous. I think it’s Ben Stiller’s best flick by far. He did a great job with this one. Most of Ben Stiller’s directed movies haven’t been all that great but “Tropic Thunder” is actually a really good one. Very good imagination and very good storytelling, pretty original I must say.

I know I said I hate Tom Cruise, but his character was actually really good in this. Tom Cruise plays a character name Lee Grossman which he is bald and fat, wears glasses, and has a beard and mustache in this one. Tom Cruise uses a lot of profanity and nasty talk in this character. Most people calls Tom Cruise’s role in this film a cameo, but it’s actually more than a cameo. Cruise is pretty much throughout the entire film, he’s pretty much a co-star, not a cameo.

Of course, Stiller is always having surprise cameos in his flicks, this one had Tobey Maguire, Jon Voight, Lance Bass, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tyra Banks and more.

This film is extremely entertaining. Great job Ben!!!

Score for “Tropic Thunder” = **** (4 stars as in excellent)

Report: Guillermo Del Toro is a busy man through 2017 and beyond…

“Hellboy” director Guillermo Del Toro will not only soon be working on the two “Hobbit” prequels, he has plenty of more films to direct ahead of him that will keep him busy through 2017 and beyond. Del Torro has three remakes planned with movies like “Frankenstein”, “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, and “Slaughterhouse-Five”. He also has a film titled “Drood” which will be adapted from a novel by Dan Simmons. He also has plenty of other films in the planning stages as the article explains. Also don’t be surprised if he already has a “Hellboy 3” in the planning stages right now as well.

Most big name directors are slow at choosing their next movie when completed the one they just did but not in Del Torro’s case. The man is always working.

Steven Spielberg and Guillermo Del Toro are the only two directors I can think of that are hard working than anyone else. That’s all those two guys do is make movies. Del Toro is a talented director though. I like the first “Hellboy” film and I want to see the 2nd one too.

Report: Aaron Eckhart hints Angelina Jolie maybe the next Catwoman for Batman 3…

In this interview at Superhero Hype website, Aaron Eckhart who played Harvey Dent/Two Face in “The Dark Knight” confirmed he won’t be returning to the character in Chris Nolan’s Batman 3. However, Aaron did hint that Angelina Jolie maybe the next Catwoman.

More on it here:

http://www.superherohype.com/news/featuresnews.php?id=7641

While it does kind of suck that Two Face won’t be returning, I hope it is true that Angelina Jolie would be the next Catwoman.

If Chris Nolan is going to have Catwoman for the next Batman movie, they need a really good actress who can pull that role off, really good acting for Catwoman. Well, Angelina Jolie has acting talent, she’ll pull that Catwoman role off perfectly and she’ll definitely play it way better than Halle Berry.

I hope Mr. Nolan gets Angie for Catwoman. Angie’s a great choice.

Like I said before, Hugh Jackman would be a perfect actor to play Roland Deschain the Gungslinger. I can’t see no other actor playing the character and I’m sticking by it. Hope they get him when they start working on the film.

Report: Mark Millar to direct the Superman reboot for Warner Bros.????

In this interview comic book creator Mark Millar hinted that Warner Bros. is in negotiations with him to direct the new Superman reboot. Miller had a plan for the new Superman for like 10 years and he finally wants to get it off the ground.

He says he wants the new Superman movies to be a 7 hour story split into 3 sequels as a trilogy. He wants it to be a Lord of the Rings like epic.

There’s nothing confirmed yet but Millar hopes to hear something from Warner Bros. in the next few weeks.

More on it here:

http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/688752/Mark_Millar_Working_On_Superman_Trilogy.html

Warner Bros. would probably go for him. Millar knows his stuff. I’m sure Millar can make a very good Superman film in a very dark way. If Warner Bros. does sign Mark Millar as the director expect this news to be huge all over media.

I’m kind of feeling sorry and bad for Bryan Singer, but what are you gonna do ya know? This is Hollywood and movie business. I’m sure we’ll be hearing Bryan Singer’s thoughts about Warner Bros. decision about the reboot soon ’cause I’m interested in hearing what he has to say about this. I’m sure he isn’t very happy at all.

Report: Poltergeist remake director found?

MGM studios may have already found a director for the upcoming “Poltergeist” remake, pictured above is a man named Vadim Perelman, he is in negotiations with MGM to helm the “Poltergeist” film.

He is an unknown director who’s made the 2003 film “The House of Sand and Fog” and “The Life Before Her Eyes”.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i70662f7dd9d6f3c45518eed16e66b17e

Just a thought, although we all know that Craig T. Nelson will never reprise his leading character of Steve Freeling in the film, will Craig have a cameo appearance as a different character in the film? It would be cool if he had a small role in the film. I think it would be appropriate. It’ll be a smart move if they want people to get interested in seeing the remake in theater.
