Thought: 5 films that are deserving of a sequel…

Here are 5 films that I think are worthy of another sequel in no particular order:

Evil Dead 4/Army of Darkness 2

(A film that everyone wants a sequel made to, all the Evil Dead and Bruce Campbell fans has been begging for one more Evil Dead movie for many years)

Rambo 5

(After the success of Rambo 4, fans want another one, the more Rambo, the better!)

Ghostbusters III

(Maybe a Ghostbusters III movie will happen after the video game is a success. Movie fans been begging for a third Ghostbusters movie for years and I agree, I think another one should be made)

Predator 3

(How sweet would it be if Arny reprised his role as Dutch for Predator 3! I loved the first Predator film, that film is such a classic as I own the DVD to the first film. I liked Predator 2 with Danny Glover, but I think a 3rd Predator film should get made to make it into a full trilogy without Alien being mixed into it)

Willow

(I talked about this in the blog before, a sequel to Willow should be made. I doubt George Lucas and Ron Howard would ever want a sequel to Willow but I think it would be way cool to see Warwick Davis reprise his role as Willow Ufgood and Val Kilmer back as Mad Martigan. The sequel could be a whole new fairy tale leaving off from the original. I really do hope Hollywood considers making a sequel to this great film)

Report: “Inglorious Bastards” to finally start filming in October…

After years of hard work of writing the script to the WWII epic “Inglorious Bastards”, Tarantino plans to finally start production of the film in October. Tarantino has made a deal with Harvey and Bob Weinstein with the Weinstein Co. to finance, distribute, and market the movie worldwide. So expect this to be a huge box office blockbuster!

Tarantino is still keeping casting underwraps, but I think he’s keeping quiet about the casting to surprise all of us.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Although Sly, Bruce and Arny aren’t confirmed for this movie yet, it wouldn’t surprise me if those three action stars are already signed for this film.

With Brad Pitt possibly in the cast, I think John Travolta would be a great addition too.

I think Tarantino’s goal with this film is to have an entire cast full of big name mega stars. I really do hope Sly gets a role in this film, all of Sly’s fans wants him in this film and we all know this is a perfect film for Sly. Sly Stallone better not turn this one down!

Report: Brad Pitt to star in “Inglorious Bastards”?

Quentin Tarantino is not wasting any time on “Inglorious Bastards” and he already started working on the casting. This article claims that it is confirmed that Tarantino is in talks with Brad Pitt to star the lead in the epic WWII flick “Inglorious Bastards”.

So does this mean that Brad will join Sly, Bruce and Arny in this flick?

More on it here:

This doesn’t mean that Brad Pitt is confirmed, they are just “talking” about it. But with Brad having twins with Angelina on the way, that kind of worries me that he will probably turn it down. Although it would be cool if Brad signed on to this movie.

Report: Bruce Campbell speaks on Evil Dead 4…

The star of the Evil Dead trilogy, Bruce Campbell, spoke with Entertainment Weekly magazine in this video interview. Bruce was on the show to help promote the new season of his new TV show “Burn Notice”. Of course, the interviewer couldn’t resist on asking him about Evil Dead 4.

I hope an Evil Dead 4 does get made. It really needs to happen. And I wish Bruce, Sam, and Rob would get together to make one more.

Bruce is the man. I always admired his acting. A man that is in it for the love of acting, he’s definitely not in it to be a big star for sure.

Report: Robert Deniro wants “The Good Sheperd” to be a trilogy…

While Robert Deniro is weighing in on the SAG strike, he confirmed the news that he wants to do two more sequels from “The Good Sheperd” film making it a trilogy. “The Good Shepherd” is a CIA Cold War film that starred Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Alec Baldwin. It looks as though Deniro wants to continue the Edward Wilson story and wants Matt Damon to play the character still. So expect this to be Matt Damon’s “third” trilogy series with “The Jason Bourne” trilogy and the “Oceans” trilogy being the others.

Quote from article:

Turning to more professional issues, De Niro said he would like to make two sequels to CIA Cold War drama “The Good Shepherd” — one bringing the action forward from 1961 to 1989, the other following its hero, Edward Wilson (Matt Damon), up to the present day.

Although he is not working on research for the concluding parts of the hoped-for trilogy, De Niro said being in central Europe offered a good opportunity to begin thinking about the material.

“I had not been planning to do research on that while here, but it is a good idea,” he said.

Glad he wants to make it into a trilogy ’cause the ending to “The Good Shepherd” did seem to leave open for more movies. I enjoyed “The Good Shepherd” ’cause I’ve seen it in theater when it first came out.

Report: Sigourney Weaver is game for another “Alien”…

Several months back “Alien” and “Ghostbusters” star Sigourney Weaver denied reports of her wanting to do an “Alien 5” because of the new “Alien vs. Predator” franchise. After thinking about it, she says she wants to do one last “Alien” movie reprising the role of Ripley. What made her change her mind? Simply because of the successful returns of Rocky, Rambo, and Indiana Jones that just made comebacks to the big screen. She said that Sylvester Stallone and Harrison Ford inspired her to do another “Alien”.

She’ll agree to do an “Alien 5” if Ridley Scott can direct it or find a director similar to Ridley Scott and if the story is right.

More on it here:

I’ve said it once and will say it again, they should really have Sigourney as Ripley in “Alien vs. Predator 3”, think about it.

Report: Never before seen footage discovered for “Metropolis”…

Missing footage from the 1927 silent film “Metropolis” that was directed by Fritz Lang and written by Thea Von Harbou has been found at a museum in Buenos Aires, Argentia. The musuem privately showed the lost “Metropolis” version to journalists last Thursday. The museum director says that is the only copy of the completed version of “Metropolis”. The musuem officials say that this is Fritz Lang original version that he intended to release before but it was too long, so Fritz released the shorter version to the public. “Metropolis” is a futuristic science ficiton film that has been very popular for years. Read this interesting story below on how they found the missing film.

The Associated Press reports:

I doubt they will release this version to DVD/BluRay, in my opinion, they shouldn’t. They should respect the film’s history and only show it to people in that musuem.

Report: “Rambo” wins award for “Most Original Poster” from the Golden Trailer Awards…

The new “Rambo” film just won an award for “Most Original Poster” awards from the 9th Annual Golden Trailer Awards. An awards show that give out awards for movie trailers and movie posters. Not the movie itself.

“Rambo” won the poster for it’s creative stencil art.

See the awards winners here:

The new “Rambo” poster is one of the most creative movie posters I’ve ever seen. Seriously. It’s just a simple drawing not some high tech photoshop work like most movie posters are these days.

BREAKING NEWS: Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver refuses to voice for “Ghostbusters” video game….

While there is a “Ghostbusters” video game in the works right now, the original cast is coming back except for two important ones. Rick Moranis refuses to reprise his role as Louis Tully for the voice overs of the video game and Sigourney Weaver refuses to come back as Dana Barrett. Why is Rick Moranis refusing? Simply because he retired from the film industry and entertainment business. Rick felt that he made too much money from the “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” sequels that he no longer needs to work.

Sigourney Weaver herself hasn’t yet spoken out on why she isn’t doing the highly anticipated video game. “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” will be released for all game systems: Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.

More on it here:

http://kotaku.com/5018686/why-rick-moranis-wont-be-in-the-ghostbusters-game

This really blows that Rick and Sigourney won’t be in it. Shame on them since Louis and Dana were the most important part of the films. Sounds like Louis and Dana will be voiced by different actors now ’cause the game still must go on. At least Bill, Dan, Harold and Ernie are still doing it though.

I definitely will buy the video game when it comes out. It’s one of the main reasons I bought a PS3 for is for this game here. I have a feeling that “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” will take over the spotlight on “Grand Theft Auto IV”.
