Report: Sigourney Weaver says “no” to Alien 5…

Sigourney Weaver spoke to MTV Movies blog and confirmed that Ridley Scott was interested in doing an “Alien 5” to direct the Alien series again, but Fox killed that opportunity because of a new “Alien Vs. Predator” series. So don’t ever expect another Alien movie coming with Weaver starring as Ripley again because I don’t see it ever happening. Weaver wants “Ripley to rest”.

MTV Movies Blog:

We may not see Ripley in “Alien 5” but could Ripley have a small role in “Alien Vs. Predator 3”? Sounds good to me. I doubt it will happen though.

Report: Star Trek XI gets a PG-13 rating…and other Star Trek news…

In this article reports lots of new information revealed for the upcoming “Star Trek XI” directed by J.J. Abrams (pictured above).

The movie has been given a PG-13  rating (my guess for violence and brief profanity). The reason Star Trek XI has been pushed back in the summer of 2009 instead of Christmas this year is because Paramount really wants this to be a summer blockbuster. They really don’t want this movie to bomb.

The budget to this film is way below 200 million. (My guess is to keep it low budget as possible to get the classic feel of the original Star Trek TV series)

Originally Steven Spielberg read the script to “Star Trek XI” and he was the one who talked J.J. Abrams into making this movie for Paramount during their work on the “Transformers” set.

The whole point of starting over again in Star Trek was to “re-invent” the franchise. Leonard Nimoy says that “Star Trek XI” will be the biggest film ever and it will be worth waiting for. What’s even more interesting that Nimoy says that he didn’t like Captain Kirk’s death scene in “Star Trek: Generations”. Nimoy also agrees that it wouldn’t make sense to bring Captain Kirk back in “Star Trek XI” saying that it would put damage to the story.

In this article, it also explains that the USS Enterprise will be built in the film as you saw on the trailer. So we probably won’t see the completed Enterprise toward the end of the film.

Interesting stuff. I just can’t wait to see this film. It’s going to be an amazing movie with a killer cast. This is gonna be the best Star Trek film ever made, mark my words!

Report: Amy Winehouse denies recording song for 007 “Quantum of Solace” movie…

After all this time we thought Amy Winehouse and producer Mark Ronson were confirmed to record a song for the opening title sequence for the new James Bond flick “Quantum of Solace”, Amy came out to the public and said it’s not true.

Amy did confirm that she is finally, yes “FINALLY”, in the studio again recording her third studio album with new songs, she is not recording anything else outside of her new album.

Yahoo reports:

http://uk.news.launch.yahoo.com/dyna/article.html?a=/16042008/364/winehouse-writing-bond-track-says-rep.html&e=l_news_dm

Way to go Amy! I’m happy she’s in the studio again after all the hell she’s been through lately. Great to see she’s getting happier, stronger and better!

I’m looking forward to her new album.

Report: Spielberg for “Ghost in the Shell” live action 3-D???

Dreamworks studios has just acquired the rights to make “Ghost in the Shell” anime into a live action 3D movie and iconic director Steven Spielberg immediately jumped in the interest on directing it. He loves “Ghost in the Shell” anime films so much that he badily wants to make the live action.

“Ghost in the Shell” is a Japanese animated futuristic police story that fights against technology related crime.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117984029.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

As long as Spielberg wants in, Dreamworks will definitely give this opportunity for him. They’ll just look at what Spielberg did to “Minority Report” and “Artificial Intelligence” and they’ll say, “Spielberg has what it takes to make futuristic films”.

Spielberg would make a good “Ghost in the Shell” movie, as long as Spielberg don’t get Tom Cruise for this one, I’ll go see it.

Report: Gene Wilder…actor turned author…

Ever wondered what the legendary comic actor Gene Wilder’s been up to after all these years? To refresh your memory on who he is…Gene Wilder starred in iconic roles such as “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, “Young Frankenstein”, “Blazing Saddles”, “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”, “Stir Crazy”, “The Woman In Red’, “Haunted Honeymoon”, etc.

Gene Wilder finally came out of hiding after all these years by making a special TV appearance on the TV show “Role Model” for TCM (Turner Classic Movies), on the show, he had a special interview with 30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin. Alec Baldwin revealed that he is Gene Wilder’s biggest fan and inspiration in acting. Alec Baldwin begged Gene Wilder to make a return to movies but sadily, Gene denied a return.

In this article, Gene explains why he never starred in a new comedy film. A man that we once loved back in the 80’s. Gene reveals that he got an offer to do a comedy film but he turned it down because simply put, he doesn’t like the way comedy films are going today. He doesn’t appreciate and is offended at the profanity over humor as I’m sure he doesn’t like the sex and drugs used constantly in comedy films as of late. Gene feels that today’s comedy films aren’t like what they used to be in the 80’s.

What is Gene Wilder doing as a career after all these years? He’s been writing novels. He has his own autobiography titled “Kiss Me Like  A Stranger” and he’s wrote a few fiction novels as well. He seems more happy writing novels than acting. So if you ever expect Gene Wilder to appear on the big screen again, not a chance. The last thing he did in acting was that he appeared in two episodes of the sitcom “Will and Grace” back in 2003.

Great to hear from Gene again!

“See No Evil, Hear No Evil” was one of my favorite movies of Gene’s other than Willy Wonka.

Good luck Gene and thanks for the entertainment!

NEW: Rambo (2008) 2 Disc Special Edition/BluRay – May 27th…

The new Rambo (2008) DVD/Blue Ray cover is released, and there it is above. How cool is that? Isn’t that a sweet cover! I think it’s badass! Rambo will be getting a DVD and BluRay release on exactly May 27th. So mark your calendars and pick up a copy that day!

The DVD extras will feature audio commentary with Sylvester Stallone, deleted scenes, six behind the scenes featurettes, and a digital copy for the film for your Itunes and Windows Media players.

The BluRay version will include the same extras, but it will also have a gallery of trailers from the 3 previous Rambo films, and a bonus view audio picture-in picture commentary with Sly Stallone.

For those who don’t want the 2 disc SE or the BluRay, there is also a single disc edition with no extras, just the movie itself.

More info here:

I’m definitely buying the BluRay baby!

I’m really curious to see what the picture is going to be like in the Blu Ray edition.

I hope Sly does an “Extended” version of Rambo on DVD down the road to make the movie longer. I know he shot a lot more than 90 minutes of the film.

NEW: More OO7 “Quantum of Solace” set photos…this looks to be action packed…

More set photos from the next James Bond flick “Quantum of Solace” has surfaced the web, in these photos you can see Daniel Craig doing some of his own stunt work in the action scenes. In these photos, you can see him on top of a bus while it’s driving…

http://www.ifitsmovies.com/2008/04/10/spy-pics-from-the-new-james-bond-set/

My guess is that this scene, Bond jumps off a high building and lands on top of a bus, that’s what it looks like here. In the completed filming, the film makers will edit out that cable on his back to make it look real.

Can’t wait to see this film. Daniel Craig is the best James Bond of them all, even Sean Connery agreed of that article I posted about him a while back.

Report: Clooney’s “Leatherheads” flops, Spacey’s “21” tops the box office this weekend…

George Clooney’s third directorial film “Leatherheads” dissapoints Hollywood movies by only making 13.5 million tying it up with Jodie Foster’s “Nim’s Island”. “21” a film about gambling in casinos starring Kevin Spacey tops with a 15.1 million.

More on it here:

http://apnews.excite.com/article/20080406/D8VSI2QO0.html

Not very good in my opinion. Such a shame. I’ve been wanting to see Clooney’s “Leatherheads”, looks like a good flick. I’ve always been a big Clooney fan, I love his acting and his movies.

But don’t worry folks, May is just around the corner when Indiana Jones starts hitting the big screen, Indy will make box office history indeed.

Report: “The Dark Knight” plot/synopsis revealed by Warner Bros…

Warner Bros. studios finally released the plot synopsis to the new Batman film “The Dark Knight” coming this summer.

The plot/spnopsis to “The Dark Knight” is…

With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good.

The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

From Dark Horizons:

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news08/080406d.php

I fuckin’ can’t wait for this film! I’m there on opening day. This movie will be a thrilling action movie ride that will take your breathe away trust me on this, “The Dark Knight” will be 10 times better than “Batman: Begins”.

With Heath being gone, I don’t think watching this film will make us sad at all. It’ll help his fans be strong and to celebrate his film career and life with a positive note. It’s what Heath would have wanted.
