Slash’s “Apocalyptic Love” is probably the best album of 2012 so far!!!

I was very impressed by this album. Probably the best work Slash has ever done. I listened to this album a couple of times and you hear something new with every listen. I’m probably gonna be addicted to this album. This album sounds like a Guns N’ Roses record. It’s got that old school GN’R sound. Wow. No wonder Axl hates Slash! Myles Kennedy is the lead singer of this album. He sang the lead through every song. This album doesn’t have different vocalists like the last record Slash did. Myles sings just like Axl, except Myles is a way better singer than Axl. This is Slash’s best guitar work too. This album makes you want to forget Guns N’ Roses.

I hate most mainstream rock music ’cause it’s mostly pop stuff to be honest, but it’s very rare that something really good will come out and this is one of them. You don’t have to be a longtime fan of Guns N’ Roses either, to enjoy this album. It’s very good. I’m probably going to listen to this a lot and you should get it as well.

Report: Megadeth heckled off the stage at Croatia Metalfest…

I thought this was pretty interesting so I had to post it here. Here is Megadeth performing at Croatia Metalfest, but they were forced off the stage ’cause they were getting heckled pretty badly by the crowd. The heckling got so out of hand, that the crowd were throwing rocks at Megadeth and other things. What were they mad about? Well, they blame it on Dave that the band, Wasp, refuses to play that night, because of an argument. It’s just a rumor that Megadeth wasn’t getting along with Wasp, and that’s what the crowd was pissed at Megadeth about.

While pretty much the whole crowd were hating on Megadeth… sticking up their middle fingers throughout their whole set, chanting, “We Want Wasp”, booing, and throwing things… Megadeth still had some supporters in the audience. How you can tell that Megadeth still had supporters in the audience? They were holding up devil horns with their fingers, chanting, “Megadeth”, and just dancing/singing along with their music.

In my opinion, this crowd are a bunch of assholes and being disrespectful to Megadeth. Sounded like Megadeth was putting on a rocking performance like they usually do, and the crowd was just being rude. So those pricks, deserve to get their show cut. I like Wasp too, don’t get me wrong, they were a good 80’s hair metal band. Hopefully this isn’t a new feud with Megadeth. Dave feuded with enough bands in the past. I’m sure Dave Mustaine himself, will speak out on this soon. I’m looking forward to hearing his thoughts. He always have interesting things to say.

Brock wishes Sheryl Crow well, a singer/songwriter who I always admired and respected…

The sad news broke out today, that singer/songwriter, Sheryl Crow, has been diagnosed with, benign brain tumor. I don’t know much about it, but it’s probably not life threatening, and could be treated. Sheryl had problems before, as she was treated with breast cancer in the past. The reason I respect her so much is that she has it all and she has done it in all in the entertainment business. She’s a singer/songwriter, producer, and actress. Plus, she has the full package. She’s a beautiful woman, she plays the guitar and sings for real. She did all of her music herself over the years. She’s the real deal. A true pop music diva! Her music career could be over because of this.

Here’s a few of my favorite songs of hers below.

Report: Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney Houston confirmed to write book about the late legendary pop star…

This should be an interesting read, and I definitely will read it when it comes out. One thing I love to read are memoirs of music stars. I find that stuff entertaining and addicting for some reason. I think the reason I like to read that stuff so much is that, I want to know what it’s like to be a rock star.

Cissy Houston’s book is set for a Feb. 2013 release date, by Harper Collins.

Report: Axl Rose banning Slash t-shirts at Guns N’ Roses concerts???

While I hate Axl Rose like most people, I find this a bunch of bull. Axl Rose is being accused of banning Slash t-shirts if fans are wearing them at his shows. I don’t think Axl would be responsible for this ’cause the way his attitude is lately, he wouldn’t give a fuck what people wear at his concerts. It could be the venue’s decision or this punk kid could be trying to make Axl look bad. I don’t think Axl would really care what shirts people are wearing in the audience ’cause it would be hard to see out there, wouldn’t you say? In the front row, I’m sure you can tell what shirts people are wearing but way in the back, no. I don’t think Axl has anything to do with this. Probably a silly rumor going around.

Think about it, all musicians are crazy as hell, and that goes for me as well…

Why is it that musicians have crazy and weird personalities? We all have crazy and mixed personalities. Everything from short tempers, bad attitudes, weird sense of humors, some of us can get upset easily over the smallest things, etc. No matter if musicians are good or bad, we are all weird. A lot of us can also be delusional people, and we are all living in our own worlds. Not just me, everybody.

Musicians aren’t perfect even though they want to appear “perfect”, when they put themselves out there. Nobody is perfect. The whole world of music can be pretty insane. Just admit it now.

The mysterious disappearance of David Bowie, why won’t he release a new album?

So why won’t singer, David Bowie, ever release a new album? Why did he leave people wondering if he’ll ever release a new one or not? This could explain it! Like I said before, he’s definitely not retired from music ’cause over the years, he kept releasing live albums and re-masters/re-issues of his classic albums. The reason he left so many people wondering if he’ll ever release something new is that back in 2001-2002, he was going to release an album called, “Toy”, but Virgin records rejected the album. It’s not that Virgin didn’t like the album, I’m sure they loved it, but the reasons they didn’t release it is because of contract disputes, rights issues,  lack of popularity, and due to David starting his own record label. The songs on “Toy”, were supposed to feature 4 new songs and the rest of the songs were re-works of his classic songs.

Last year in 2011, this album, “Toy” was leaked on the internet. The album was getting very positive reviews by the listeners. So far, I haven’t seen anything negative said about the album. So I listened to some of it myself, and I’m like, “Damn, this is really good stuff”. It is a really good album. For some reason, David never bothered to find a different label to release this album on. This album have never found it’s release. It’s a shame since it sounded like it could be one of David’s best albums.

Why is David holding out on this album? Does he still plan on releasing it in the future? Or will he scrap it (since so many people heard it already) and come out with a totally different album. Like I said he’s definitely not retired from music completely ’cause he’s still doing other side projects for other artists (most notably his collaboration with Scarlett Johansson). I’m looking at forums and youtube, and fans are still wondering to this day if David will ever come back. I’m hoping the same thing.

Well, David doesn’t need to work too much anymore ’cause he’s made so much money from his earlier career and his movie career. Plus, the man has health problems as he had a heart attack in the past and other things. He’s also a family guy, so I can’t blame the guy for wanting to slow down and take it easy.

I’m sure Bowie will be back. Maybe he’s just waiting for the right time?

Enjoy the album, “Toy”, below in it’s entirety.

Hear David Bowie’s “Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust” 40th Anniversary Re-master here…

As some of you know, I’m a huge fan of David Bowie. Love the guy’s work, and this is one of his best albums other than, “Hunky Dory”. I’m getting this ’cause I don’t have this album yet.

Enjoy it, here. I just listened to it today and it sounds great like always

I wish he would quit re-releasing his classic albums and wish he would put out a new album already! He’s not retired from music, he just doesn’t need to work much anymore since he made so much money from his earlier career.

Report: Bob Dylan is honored by the President with Medal of Freedom and it’s about time too!

While I’m no fan of President Barack Obama, I’ll give him respect for this one time. He did a good thing honoring Bob Dylan. Whether you’re a fan of Bob Dylan or not, he deserves this. Bob Dylan, did change American history with his music. Bob did so much over the years. Bob is still going in music to this day. He is still releasing records and touring. Still doing his thing at 71 years old.

When will Springsteen and Neil Young ever get honored by the President? I’m sure they’ll get their chance ’cause they contributed a lot in American history too and made a difference. Neil Young maybe a Canadian but he did so much in the US.

Congrats to Bob and well deserved. Bob looks emotional in the pic from this article. He does look sad and happy at the same time. I’m pretty sure Bob didn’t think he would ever get something like that, he just did his thing over the years, make music and write songs.

Brock doesn’t like how Spotify is taking over the music business…

Isn’t it kind of hypocritical that the music industry goes to war against Napster (thanks to Lars Ulrich of Metallica), that they are mad at people for pirating free music, and then here comes this new software, Spotify? Spotify is similar software to Napster, except the only difference is that the major record labels are on board with Spotify streaming free music (Seriously, this makes the industry a bunch of hypocrites, think about it). Spotify became pretty popular quickly in the music industry. I used it for a little bit, thought it was cool at first, but I don’t want it anymore.

I’m slowly starting to move away from Itunes ’cause I’m not liking Itunes too much anymore either. Take up too much memory, I guess? I’ve been going back to buying regular CD’s instead of buying music digitally.

*sigh*

I miss the old days of music when there was no internet around. Back in those days, you had to buy music on cassette tapes, vinyl or CD’s. Not anymore. People aren’t buying music the old school way anymore. Sad really. I hate how you have to pay for Spotify if you want to listen to music without the advertisements. If you want to listen to music without the advertisements, just buy the damn album, and support the artist.

Spotify is garbage too, thumbs down.
