I think George W. Bush’s head on a stake in “Game of Thrones” is hilarious, but it should have been Obama instead…

Oh my, how come I didn’t notice that? I’m sure nobody did. I didn’t even listen to the DVD commentary when he said it, and now it makes me want to. HBO, then, admitted they were wrong, and out of line, so they apologized.

See the article, here.

No need to apologize for this. I think it’s pretty funny and everyone else would too! That’s karma for being a bad president!

Brock reviews “Game of Thrones – Season 2” with no spoilers…

Well, “Game of Thrones – Season 2” is over with already. I guess HBO is only doing 10 episodes for each season. This season was pretty good. Not the best ever, just pretty good. I just wish the script was better and wish they stayed more true to the books. They left out a lot of important characters. They changed the stories around a little bit, and altering characters like I said before. I can understand why HBO feels the need to do it, since the series is only 10 episodes, and the books are so long that they can’t fit everything in.

The best two episodes this season were the final two, “Blackwater” and “Valar Morghulis”. I guess HBO wanted to save the best for the last. In the season finale last night, “Valar Morgulis”, everything was perfect and beautifully written. It was an amazing episode. It was very dramatic and intense with all the characters. Tyrion Lannister really showed his emotion as the character was upset, and Peter Dinklage did a phenomenal acting job. I think Peter is the best actor out of the cast.

The Daenerys storyline with the Dragons was pretty shocking. I love the Daenerys character, she’s an interesting character. During her segments, a certain someone made a surprise cameo apperaance, I won’t give any spoilers, but it is a character from Season 1.

The Arya and Jaqen story ended in a sad way too.

My only complaint is that I wish they did more with the Brienne Maid of Tarth, character. She didn’t get a lot of screen time. Brienne is supposed to be a brutal and mean character, and she got into way more gruesome sword fights in the books than the TV show. In the books, she’s a tough woman that you won’t even want to piss off, but the TV show made her look weaker.

Game of Thrones – Season 2 was okay this year. Hopefully next year will be better.

Edit to add: While “Game of Thrones” is no longer on, “Breaking Bad” Season 5 will be aired on AMC next month, so that’ll be good TV to keep us busy while “Thrones” and “Walking Dead” are on break.

Report: First Kristen Wiig, now Andy Samberg leaves SNL…

Wow, all these stars are leaving SNL like crazy. First Kristen Wiig left, and now Andy Samberg is leaving. It’s no surprise to me that Andy could be leaving soon ’cause he is getting too big to be on SNL anyway. We won’t be missing him though ’cause I’m sure Andy is planning to start a full time movie career. When SNL stars leave the show, pretty much all of them move on to movies or they star in their own shows.

Tina Fey left SNL to do “30 Rock”, and Amy Poehler left to do “Parks & Recreation”. Could Andy do his own sitcom and do movies too? Probably.

Who will leave SNL next? Bill Hader? Seth Myers? I’m still not much of a fan of today’s SNL. I only watch if there’s a good host or musical guest is on. I was mostly into the earlier SNL when Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Kevin Nealon, and all those guys were around. The earlier days of SNL were great!

Brock was completely blown away by “Hatfields & McCoys” on the History Channel, a brief non spoiler review…

Tonight, I just finished watching all of “Hatfields & McCoys” on the DVR. I DVR’d them, ’cause I almost forgot this series was on this week, so recorded the reruns. Plus, I think it’s better watching stuff on the DVR to fast forward the annoying commercials. This mini series marks the comeback of actor, Kevin Costner. As most of you know, Costner took a long break from acting. He took a few years off, to focus on his music career with his band, Modern West. It’s no secret Costner is a huge fan of Western, ’cause he had starred in many Western films himself with films such as “Dances with Wolves”, “Wyatt Earp”, “Open Range” etc. Bill Paxton also may have starred in a few Western films as he can be seen in the movie, “Tombstone”. So both actors obviously already, have experience playing in Westerns.

Finally, Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton team up for a Western for the History Channel, “Hatfields & McCoys”, based on real life and true events. I’m going to keep this review short and brief without any spoilers, ’cause I know a lot of people out there still haven’t watched it yet, I can still give a brief synopsis though. It tells the story of two men who used to be best friends, Anse Hatfield (Costner) and Randal McCoy (Paxton), they were best friends up until the Civil War was over with. After the war, they return home to go back to living their lives. The feud between the Hatfield and McCoy families began with increasing tensions, misunderstandings, and resentments.

As soon as I started watching, I was immediately hooked. The show was pretty addicting, and wish the movie could be a lot longer! It should have been a good 5 part mini series. Costner and Paxton still has it with the acting. Those guys were phenomenal, Costner was a badass in that role. I think this was Costner’s best Western role. The movie felt like a true Western. It was pretty serious. It was a pretty realistic Western too. It had a lot of action and it was pretty violent.

After watching this mini series makes me want to research the history of the Hatfield & McCoy feud. I’m sure there are plenty of books written about this famous feud, so I’ll have to find one to read. I’ll start looking through the Ibooks store for the Ipad.

Back to the show, it was pretty intense and powerful stuff! I can see why this was the highest rated TV show ever, it broke world records in the ratings. It also shows that people are still interested in Western and Cowboys. After the success of “Hatfields & McCoys”, they should keep the Western genre going. The Western genre doesn’t get much respect by the Entertainment Industry because they’re afraid that people don’t care about it anymore. Well, we still do care about the Western genre. It’s cool stuff.

I think the History channel should do a mini series on the Billy the Kid story next. A more true and more accurate story on, Billy The Kid. Not the fake stuff from the, “Young Guns” movies. “Hatfields & McCoys” was the best thing I’ve seen all year. I wouldn’t be surprised if this Mini Series would win a lot of awards ’cause it could.

Why took “Game of Thrones” this long to make one of the best episodes of the series…”Blackwater”…was incredible…

I missed “Game of Thrones” last Sunday, ’cause I was becoming less interested in this Season. This Season of “Game of Thrones”, hasn’t been that good. Why? Because this Season has been changing so much of the stories from the books. Altering the characters, and leaving important characters out from the books, lots of other things. They’re following the Tyrion vs. Joffery feud pretty well, but everything else they’re changing around. They even changed the Arya story a lot too.

Somebody told me that last Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones”, the “Blackwater” episode was one of the best episodes of this Season. After watching the re-run of that episode on DVR, I agree! The “Blackwater” battle was the best episode of this season.

Why is “Game of Thrones – Season 2” kind of boring this year? Well the pacing of the show is kinda slow this season. There’s not much violence and gory stuff. “Game of Thrones – Season 1” was very violent and gory. Season 2 didn’t have much of that, up until the “Blackwater” episode. The “Blackwater” battle was pretty epic, felt like a movie on the big screen.

Tyrion is going to be much uglier now, after what happened to him during the battle (Minor spoiler: Getting half of his face, chopped off). Don’t get me wrong, I still love the “Game of Thrones” franchise, it’s just that the books are way better, of course. I wish they would do more with the Brienne Maid of Tarth character, ’cause that’s a good character that doesn’t get too much screen time.

In other news, I also DVR’d “Hatfields & McCoys”, the western mini series on the History channel with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton, I DVR’D both parts, and I’ll start watching them today. I’ll review “Hatfields & McCoys” later this week. Looking forward to checking it out. I missed the first part ’cause I forgot it was on, so I DVR’d the re-runs on the History Channel.

I don’t understand the hate for Star Trek…

Last night on Netflix, I just finished watching “Season 1” of the original Star Trek series. I have watched the original series too many times as a kid, I just haven’t seen it in a long while, so it’s nice to start re-watching it. I’m a Trekkie. Proud of it and not ashamed to be a die-hard of this franchise. Over the years, people would bash Star Trek. A lot of people said that Star Trek is boring. I don’t think Star Trek is boring. I think the stories are pretty masterful and intelligent. I think people have a hard time getting into Trek ’cause they look at it like it’s more of a “drama” or “soap opera” mixed with “science fiction”. I also think people don’t like Star Trek ’cause the science is more detailed and they don’t understand it.

Don’t get me wrong, there are things I don’t like about Trek. For example, I wasn’t a fan of “Deep Space Nine”, “Enterprise” with Scott Bakula, and there were a few Star Trek movies I didn’t like. I loved most of the Star Trek movies except for, “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier”, “Star Trek: Insurrection”, and “Star Trek: Nemesis”.

I’m a fan of the original Trek series, I loved The Next Generation, and Voyager was good too. I plan to re-watch all those shows on Netflix. It’s great that Paramount gave Netflix the permission to stream all the series ’cause I was going to start collecting the series on DVD. Don’t have to now. The picture and sound is just as good on Netflix.

Star Trek is cool. Love that franchise more than Star Wars.

Report: First half of “Breaking Bad – Season 5” will air on July 15th!!!

Man, I hope I am able to catch up with “Breaking Bad – Season 4”, before “Season 5” starts airing on TV. Love this show too fucking much! Other than the “Walking Dead”, “Dexter”, “Game of Thrones, and now you can add “Breaking Bad” to one of my favorite current shows on TV. I don’t like shows and movies about drugs too much, since I’m not a drug addict and want nothing to do with them. It’s just that I find the writing and acting of “Breaking Bad” pretty intriguing. The show got pretty addicting to me. I think it’s Bryan Cranston’s excellent acting with the show, is what did it to me. I’m sure “Season 4” will be out on DVD sometime before “Season 5” starts airing so I’ll catch up with the show then.

Since, “Season 5” is the final and last season ever, I wonder how the show will end? I’m sure everyone is wondering the same thing. Will Walter finally get caught for making meth and selling? Will the show end with him going to prison? Or, will he end up dying of cancer before he gets caught? Either way, I think the show is not going end with a happy ending for sure.

This is a pretty powerful show and I’m glad I got into it. I had too many people trying to talk me into watching it, that’s how it got me interested.

Cool Photo: Your first look at Michonne for “The Walking Dead” Season 3!!!

Michonne will be played by actress, Danai Gurira, who is a sword expert from the “Walking Dead” books. She’s good at killing a large number of walkers that nobody else could do. In the books, she teams up with Rick and his friends to help protect them. In the books, she was raped and abused by the Governor, and not sure if they’ll use that storyline for the TV show next season. I also wonder if they’re going to introduce, Tyrese (not T-Dog, different character), ’cause there was a big love triangle between him, Carol and Michonne. Will they use all this stuff for Season3? The next season will be taken place in a prison, the book, “Safety Behind Bars”. I’m sure the TV show will change a lot around and make things different, but I hope they use some of the material from book 3.

Can’t wait for “Season 3”. I wonder who’ll they get to play the Governor and Tyrese if they use those characters? The Governor is not a nice guy, he was a villain from the books.

Report: Lindsay Lohan confirmed to play Elizabeth Taylor for Lifetime movie…

Lindsay Lohan, is set to play the late legendary actress, Elizabeth Taylor, for a biopic film on the Lifetime channel, titled, “Liz and Dick”. The film will focus on Taylor’s relationship with, Richard Burton.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

This movie is probably gonna suck, and it’s not just because Lindsay is in it. It’ll suck because Lifetime makes shit original movies. I tried to watch the Drew Peterson movie with Rob Lowe on “Lifetime”, but gave up on it after a half hour of watching it.

I think Elizabeth Taylor deserves a better biopic than this. “Cleopatra”, is one of my favorite movies of all time by the way, and I would like to get that film on Blu Ray sometime.

I’m real surprised how different the “Walking Dead” TV show is from the books…***spoilers***

I’ve finally started reading the “Walking Dead” books. Just read the first two, “Days Gone By” and “Miles Behind Us”. While the stories of the TV show and books can be similar, both are pretty different too! The TV show left a lot out from the books, changed some characters, left some characters out, and changed the story around too.

Here’s how different it is from the books:

– Shane dies even sooner. In the book, Carl kills Shane while Shane was still alive. Shane didn’t turn.

– Carol doesn’t have the buzz cut like she does in the show. In the books, she has long blonde hair. I always wondered why on the show, she has the buzz cut hair do? Cancer survivor maybe? Not sure.

– Dale and Andrea were lovers, but on the show they weren’t.

– T-Dog (Tyrese) steals the show in the books, while he gets lesser TV time in the show.

– Sophia doesn’t go missing in book 2. Instead she goes to Hershel’s home with the family and she ends up falling in love with Carl, this wasn’t in the show, they took it out.

– Hershel confronts Maggie and Glenn for having sex, but in the show, he doesn’t.

– Donna and Allen were characters not in the TV show.

– No Merle and Daryl Dixon.

– There was none of that CDC stuff at the end of book 1.

– They don’t keep the Walkers in the barn top secret. In book 2, Hershel tells Rick about it first.

That’s it. You pretty much get the idea. I can understand why the “Walking Dead” TV show gets mixed reviews ’cause it’s so different than the books. No wonder people complain about the show a lot! They left a lot of important stuff from the books that weren’t in the TV show at all.

Glad I started reading the books. I’ll start reading book 3, “Safety Behind Bars”, tomorrow.
