Not all celebrities are in it for the fame and glory. Gary Oldman makes that pretty clear in his Playboy interview. He clearly doesn’t care about the fame. He doesn’t even realize that he’s a big star. He doesn’t like watching himself in his own movies. He’s just in it for the work ’cause that’s how he makes a living. He claims he’s not all that rich either.
Here’s the full Gary Oldman Playboy interview… it’s worth a read. Entertaining as hell!!! I think next time I go to Barnes and Noble, I’ll pick up the magazine with this interview in it.
Most people like us believe that celebrities and movie stars are bigger than us but they’re really not. You’ll be surprised that many celebrities are normal. A lot of them live normal lives like us. They are definitely different people in real life than what you see of them on the big screen. A lot of these guys don’t even see themselves as “celebrities”. They’re just human beings who are in it for the work.
A lot of people get into Hollywood ’cause that’s the only way some of them can make a living. It’s hard for them to get other work so they choose acting.
Don’t make the mistake by thinking that actors and actresses enjoy watching themselves in the movies ’cause a lot of them don’t. A lot of them don’t have time to watch movies ’cause they’re always working all of the time… plus a lot of them don’t like watching themselves. They like watching other movies but not movies that they are in.
Movie stars are just like us. That’s all there is to it.
In an interview with Playboy magazine, Oscar award winning actor Gary Oldman goes on a rant on hypocrisy in America.
He rants about a lot of things like political correctness, Bill Maher and Jon Stewart having the power to say what they want and they get away with it, he talks about Mel Gibson and Alec Baldwin and other topics. He also exposes the evils and the secrets of Hollywood.
Read what Gary have to say here:
Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors of all time. I’ve admired his acting for years. I respect him even more now.
More examples of liberals getting a free pass… they think it’s offensive for people to hate on Barack Obama and compare him to Hitler and all… yet liberals think it’s okay to say all kinds of hateful things about Sarah Palin or George W. Bush. That’s hypocrisy.
When you want to show support for George Zimmerman or Paula Deen, you’ll get called a racist.
If you want to support people like Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” for his views on homosexuality when he has every right for an opinion even if you don’t like it, you’ll get labeled a hateful homophobe.
Welcome to America. Interesting how this country works, doesn’t it? You really do have to be careful of what you say these days when it really shouldn’t be that way and liberals have a free pass that they think can say whatever they want to and get away with it. Pisses me off.
Gary talks truth 100%.
MGM released the first trailer for the “Robocop” remake and I’m actually kind of impressed with it! I was skeptical of the remake but now that I’ve seen the trailer, I guess I’ll have a positive opinion for it. Joel Kinnaman is the new Robocop. The film also stars Sam L. Jackson and Gary Oldman. I like the new Robocop armor as well.
While the remake does look like a good one, it still won’t top the original with Peter Weller. The original is an essential classic. The original is one of my favorite films of all time.
David Bowie released the official video to his next single, “The Next Day”, which is also the title track for his new album. It was reported that Christians and other religious people were offended by the material in the video ’cause the song seems to have a negative message toward religion. If you knew David Bowie’s career as well as I do, you would realize that Bowie is no stranger to controversial songs and videos. Bowie has always been the type of guy that he will send a message through a song whether people liked it or not. He still has that attitude to this day. The video to this song maybe dark and controversial but whatever it takes for David to send a message. Seems like David is trying to tell a story to this song.
I’m sure David is being unfairly accused of being hateful against religion or being a supporter of Satan, but I’m sure that’s not his intention with this song. I’m not sure what message David is trying to send but whatever he’s doing here, he’s just being artistic like he usually is. The man is an artist; not just a musician, also kind of like a painter or a visualist. He is just trying to depict things of what goes on in his mind. The man is very creative.
I like the video and the song too, by the way. I don’t find it offensive at all. How about that Marion Cotillard, hey? Ain’t she lookin’ pretty hot in this video or what? I would say so. Even though Gary Oldman had a few lines to say in this video, his acting is gold like always.
In Bowie’s defense, you just never know what to expect from the man. He has always been unpredictable like this. You just never know what the man will come up with next.
I don’t like MTV News that much, but I had a laugh watching this interview with Gary Oldman. Gary seems like a cool guy and he’s a phenomenal actor, too.
Check it out, here.
Actor Gary Oldman has signed a deal to star alongside Denzel Washington in the Hughes Brothers new upcoming film “Book of Eli”. Gary Oldman’s latest role was in “The Dark Knight”, he played Commissioner Gordon.
This film sounds like a huge blockbuster to me. This is sweet, Gary and Denzel starring in a film together!
