Cool Video: “Expendables 2” trailer is finally here, and looks badass!!!

“The Expendables 2” teaser is finally here. There’s nothing much on it for now, it’s just a teaser. It just shows all the cast members. The trailer shows Chuck Norris, and Van Damme. Best of all, it also shows Arnold holding a gun!!!! How cool is it to finally see Arnold with a gun for the big screen? After a 7 year long fucking wait of Arnold’s governor shit, he’s finally back to where he belongs. Action films on the big screen!!!

I did like the first “Expendables” movie, but only for the action & fight scenes. The action scenes for the first film was fine, it was just the writing that had lots of problems. Hopefully the plot will be an improvement for the sequel. I’ll be seeing the new film in theater for sure.

Check out the trailer, here.

Report: “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” finally gets a director…

Lionsgate has finally found a director for the horror film, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”, which will be adapted by the book, written by Seth Grahame-Smith. The story has been mixed with Jane Austen’s 1813 novel, “Pride & Prejudice”. Seth Grahame-Smith re-wrote her book into his version mixing zombies into the story. Craig Gillespie is the director of films such as “Mr. Woodcock” starring Billy Bob Thornton and “Lars and the Real Girl” starring Ryan Gosling.

Hopefully Gillespie will stay committed to this movie and not back out like the last two directors did. I still haven’t read, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”, yet, but I plan to pick it up soon.

Deadline, reports.

Thought: More on why Dolph Lundgren could possibly be the next “Expendables” director…

So I wrote that Dolph could possibly be Sly’s replacement as director for, “The Expendables” sequel. If you want to know why Dolph would make a great choice for the director of the next film, I can think of more reasons why.

  • Dolph has more experience directing action movies than Sly – Dolph has more experience directing action movies. They all may have been direct to DVD flicks but that doesn’t mean they are bad films. Some of Dolph’s movies are actually pretty good as I actually thought “Command Performance” was a great film. Look at Dolph’s directorial filmography. They are mostly action movies.
  • Dolph can make the next Expendables flick more violent and action packed – If you’ve seen Dolph’s directed films, they are so violent, brutal and graphic. Dolph knows about fighting and violence than anybody else, so he can put on quite the great action movie here. He would put an old school feel to it too.
  • Dolph knows Sly’s directing style – Dolph have witnessed Sly direct with “Rocky IV” and the first “Expendables” movie. I’m sure Dolph has been taking lessons from Sly for his own directing. He would make the “Expendables” sequel similar to Sly’s style but would put his own original spin to it too.
  • Dolph being director would help give the film more publicity – If any other action film maker such as Robert Rodriguez or who ever else did this film instead, then the public wouldn’t care about this film as much. “The Expendables” goal is to have a movie full of action stars in one film, they will probably do the same with the director for the next film. Have a big name, direct it. If Dolph directed the next movie, it would help get more people interested.
  • Sly would want to return the favor to Dolph – Like I said before, Sly directed Dolph two times in films. Sly would want to pass the torch, return the help to a longtime friend. Sly would probably recommend Lionsgates to hire Dolph as director.

There you have it. I can’t see no other director making the next “Expendables” sequel. Dolph is the only one worth making the movie, in my opinion. Sure Dolph made straight to DVD stuff but that doesn’t mean he’s a terrible director. Have you even seen Dolph’s straight to DVD work? You should really check ’em out.

Dolph directing the next “Expendables” flick, would be a big screen opportunity for him and he would get recognized as a director more, too. I really hope Sly and Liosngates give him this opportunity. If they don’t, it would be a huge mistake.

Report: “The Expendables 2” slated for August 17th, 2012 release date…

Lionsgate Studios, have confirmed a release date, for “The Expendables 2” sequel. It will come out, August 17th in 2012. Stallone announced a while back that he wasn’t going to write and direct the next film but he still IS going to star the leading role as his character, Barney Ross. I’m sure Sly will still help out with the casting ’cause only he knows the right tough guys for a movie like this.

I hope they get a good director for the next movie.Who do I think the director is gonna be? I think the director is gonna be none other than Dolph Lundgren. Here is why… 1) Sly and Dolph have been best friends for years 2) Sly directed Dolph two times, Sly would want to give Dolph the opportunity to direct him. How much do you want to bet the director will be, Dolph? Dolph has so much directing experience and this would be a great opportunity for Dolph to direct a movie for the big screen, instead of direct-to-DVD. Dolph starred in the first “Expendables” movie, so he would know so much about it already. Plus, Dolph would make it great.

Looking forward to the sequel, hope it will be better than the first.

Report: Liam Neeson joins, “The Next Three Days” thriller…

Man, Liam Neeson has been keeping himself busy in Hollywood these days. He’s just going to keep getting even busier. Liam just joined, “The Next Three Days” thriller, which the film will be directed by Paul Haggis for Lionsgate studios. Liam will play a writer who’s broken out of jail several times and he helps a school teacher whose wife is arrested for a gruesome murder, they team to help break her out of jail. Liam Neeson will star alongside, Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks. Brian Dennehy and Daniel Stern will also star.

Liam Neeson finished filming “Clash of the Titans” and “After Life”. He is now currently filming, “The A-Team” remake.

Variety Reports:

“Next Three Days”, sounds like another box office hit. I’m sure there will be action scenes in the film that Liam will be involved in ’cause of his action thriller in, “Taken”.

Great to see Brian Dennehy still acting, maybe there’s a chance that he will return as Will Teasle for “Rambo V” if Sly writes him in? Sounds to me that Brian Dennehy will play the warden of the prison that they will break the teacher’s wife out of jail.

Report: Saw 7 is greenlighted…

Although, “Saw VI” is being released this coming October, the latest Saw film of the franchise, Lionsgate has decided to greenlight “Saw VII” early. The same producers and the same writers are back with the next installment.

David Hackl, who directed “Saw V” is in talks to direct “Saw VII”.

Variety Reports:

While I’m a huge fan of most horror franchises, I love Friday the 13th, I love Nightmare on Elm St., I love Halloween, I love Hellraiser…but I can’t stand the Saw series. I don’t like ’em for some reason.

It’s not that I find the gross out scenes offensive, I’m never offended at gross out scenes in movies.

I guess I just don’t like this whole idea of Jigsaw John, this villain, forcing these kids to find their way out of the house alive by solving all these games and puzzles. It’s all pretty fucking stupid in my opinion. Saw, overrated, boring and ridiculous. I don’t see how people can get into it.

Confirmed: “The Expendables” gets a April 23rd, 2010 release date…

Lionsgate just confirmed a release date for Stallone’s next movie, “The Expendables”. The film will be released April 23rd, 2010. Look like this will be a big Spring movie where all the college kids are on Spring break, just around that time.

Maybe the film won’t even be PG-13, it could get a PG rating too. Either way. It’s a fact this movie is aiming for the younger generation. While Sly has done mostly “R-rated” violent films for most of his career, Sly knows he has a lot of young fans. When Sly did a PG or a PG-13 movie it is either a drama or family type of film. I don’t think Sly has ever done a PG-13 action flick. He wants an action flick that kids can actually watch. He wants an action film for the whole family.

Since UFC and WWE has mostly young fans, you know both fighting companies will heavily promote this film since this film has WWE’s Stone Cold and UFC’s Randy Couture in the movie. I think this movie will be an automatic box office smash of the year. “The Expendables” could be the “Dark Knight” of 2009. I really do think this movie will be the most successful film of the year.

“The Expendables” will be a lot of fun. I hope Sly makes it a 2 hour film, not a short 90 minute flick. I also wonder who will score the music for the movie, too? I hope he gets a good composer for the film.

Report: Lionsgate confirmed “Rambo V” will be in the works, and will be written/directed by Stallone…

While this article at the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Alli Shearmur has left Paramount and she has landed a job to take Lionsgate in the lead as the companies president and boss…the article also says that Lionsgate has Rambo V confirmed with Sylvester Stallone on board to write, direct and star in again.

Quote from the article:

“On the development horizon are “Warrior,” which Gavin O’Connor co-wrote and will direct; “Conan,” a fast-tracked project with multiple scripts in the works; “Severance Package,” with Brett Simon writing and directing; “Rambo V,” to be written and directed by Sylvester Stallone; “Korean Wedding” from writer Jason Filardi; and “Kane & Lynch,” a video game adaptation that will star Bruce Willis.”

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Lionsgate has been confirming Rambo V for a long while now, but Sly Stallone himself has been pretty quiet about it lately. If Lionsgate keeps confirming it, then I guess it’s true.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Sly starts working on Rambo V next because he needs to before he gets too old. I’m glad he’s doing another Rambo.

Rambo IV did leave open for another movie as I would like some answers to the strange ending at the end of Rambo IV.

I hope Sly writes a good plot for Rambo V, he did an amazing job with Rambo IV, I’m sure he won’t dissapoint in V also. Maybe this is why Sly is taking another break from movies ’cause he’s writing a script for the next Rambo, who knows.

Report: Lionsgate to make Conan, and new writers too…

Lionsgate studios has got the go ahead to make the “Conan” movie. New writers have been hired to write the script. Screenwriters Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain have been hired to pen the film. The same writers also have another new fantasy epic adventure titled “Amazon” which Scarlett Johansson is attached to star the leading role in as a sword fighting female warrior. Both of these films will be made by Lionsgate studios. No directors have been hired yet for either film but they are looking.

Lionsgate is planning to get the “Conan” film into production as soon as possible. Just like the Batman series is starting over again with a clean slate, Lionsgate plan to do the same with the Conan franchise. The original Conan movies, “Conan The Barbarian” and “Conan The Destroyer” starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the hero but hollywood feels the films can go on without him.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i84d286596a535ecf5a3141fe4e1b2bee

Lets hope they pick a good actor for Conan. And lets hope they do it good.

Who should be the director of this film?

I’d say give it to Ridley Scott after seeing what he did to “Legend” and “Gladiator”, I think he would make a very good Conan movie.
