Report: Netflix will finally get Disney for a three year deal in 2016!!!

This is good for Netflix! In 2016, Netflix streaming services will finally get Disney films for a three year deal. That includes streaming everything Disney… from classic films to new films, live action and animated. It also includes all the Marvel superhero flicks and the Pixar films. Lucasfilm too, probably? I would think. It’ll be cool if Netflix will stream all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies.

Other movie studios and TV stations have avoided Netflix for years, and looks like Disney has their back. Nice to see! More kids will be watching Netflix, and they deserve this.

Netflix is the coolest thing on this planet. It’s better than cable TV!!! Whenever there’s nothing on TV, I’ll watch a TV show on Netflix or a movie. I know Netflix gets a lot of criticism ’cause of their price raise, but I’ll always stay loyal to Netflix. It’s a good service, even though I wish they would improve the sound quality.

More on the story, here.

Thought: “Breaking Bad” is my new favorite show!!!

After all the few TV shows that I love to watch like “Friday Night Lights”, “24”, “The Walking Dead”, “Game of Thrones”, “Dexter”… you can now add “Breaking Bad” to the list!!! “Breaking Bad” is such an incredibly addicting show. I couldn’t stop watching ever since I started.

I’m just amazed on how realistic the show is. These things that happen in the show can happen to people in real life. The show just wants to help bring awareness to cancer. Not only that, it also wants to give you an example of how being a drug dealer can mess up your life terribly, so you won’t do it.

The writing of the show is just excellent. The cast is very well acted. Especially, Bryan Cranston who plays Walt, wow, what a phenomenal actor he is. The show is pretty unpredictable too. It can go into some pretty interesting twist and turns. The show can get pretty intense and dramatic as well. Some of the storylines can be become pretty shocking and some can be very sad. I won’t spoil things for you but I can give you a hint that if you think the characters on the show will end in a happy ending for them, think again.

While it’s a shame that the show will only be getting 5 seasons, I can definitely see this show being made into a big screen movie too. I think Skyler (Walt’s wife), is a great character too.

People in facebook been trying to talk me into start watching it. Now I’m finally able to get around to it. I just watched the first two seasons, and I’m just starting season 3 on Netflix. Netflix don’t have Season 4 yet ’cause it’s not on DVD yet but will be soon. I want to catch up with all 4 seasons before Season 5 later this year.

After I finish watching “Breaking Bad” on Netflix, I plan to start watching, “Sons of Anarchy”. “Breaking Bad” is one of the best shows ever and it’s probably my no. 1. I can understand why the show is so popular. It feels good to finally start watching the show.

My Marilyn Monroe obsession is still going…

I can’t stop watching Marilyn Monroe movies for some reason. After watching the 5 movies through that Marilyn Monroe DVD boxset, I picked up a while back, I just kept watching her films in Netflix.

So far the films I’ve watched of hers are:

– Gentlemen Prefers Blondes

– Niagra

– The River of No Return

– Let’s Make Love

– The Seven Year Itch

– Monkey Business

– There’s No Business, Like Show Business

– How to Marry a Millionare

I still got more films to watch of hers. I’ve just been watching her films on the weekends. I like ’em all, but so far, my favorites are “Gentlemen Prefers Blondes”, “The Seven Year Itch”, and “Niagra”.

While she is sexy in almost every movie she’s in, I think she’s the sexiest in the “Seven Year Itch”, of course. I love Marilyn movies. Can’t get enough of her.

Watching Marilyn movies, makes me want to watch other classic movie actresses other than her. I like the old classic movies from the 50’s. Good stuff.

All done watching “24” on Netflix, finally!!!!

Last night, I finally finished watching “24” on Netflix. Yes, I finished watching the last of Season 8, the final season. It was quite a ride watching the show. It seemed like it took me forever to watch the show since it was so long, but I went through it. I just couldn’t stop watching and was pretty obsessed with the show. I did like all seasons, but I’m going to rank  the seasons in order of which ones I loved the best:

6, 1, 3, 2, 5, 4, 7, 8

Yes, I still think Season 6 was the best Season of them all, ’cause it was Kiefer’s best performance.

I really can’t wait for the big screen, “24” movie. I hope it will be a good plot. Hope it will have good action and hope it will be more violent and dark than the TV show. I can now understand why everyone wants a “24” movie ’cause Jack Bauer is still alive at the end of the show and people wanted more. I just hope the “24” movie won’t suck and that’s what I’m worried about.

Now that I’m done with “24” on Netflix, I’m planning to start “Breaking Bad” on there later tonight. I’ll catch up with the 4 seasons before Season 5 later this year. Season 4 of “Breaking Bad” is not on DVD yet but it will be coming soon. I’ll just watch the first 3 seasons on Netflix and will buy Season 4 on DVD when it comes out. After I catch up with “Breaking Bad”, I’m going to start watching, “Sons of Anarchy”. Those are the next two TV shows, I plan to watch next on Netflix.

I don’t know why people treat Netflix in a negative direction. I love the service, and I vow to keep it.

“Breaking Bad” it is, on Netflix…

As soon as I finish watching “24” on Netflix, I’ll immediately start watching “Breaking Bad” on Netflix. The reason is, “Breaking Bad – Season 5” will start airing at the end of this summer in 2012. So I have plenty of time to catch up with, “Breaking Bad” before Season 5. There were quite a few people who’ve been trying to talk me into start watching, “Breaking Bad”, and I think I’m gonna, definitely. Looks like a great show and I never saw it before.

Netflix Pick (DVD): Foo Fighters “Back and Forth”

Over the weekend, I’ve been watching movies on Netflix, both streamable and DVD. Well just earlier tonight, I just watched the Foo Fighters rockumentary, “Back and Forth”. The Foo Fighters is a band who I admired for years. They maybe mainstream and iconic, but they are one of the only mainstream acts that can make great rock music. They are very talented rock songwriters. Of course, Dave’s songwriting was mostly influenced from Kurt Cobain. In the film, he explained how Kurt was the one that got him into songwriting.

The film started off with Nirvana history. After Kurt committed suicide, Dave explained he wanted nothing to do with music for a while. So he made a demo on a cassette tape with the name Foo Fighters on it. The first album was all Dave. He recorded the album himself and recorded all instruments himself. At first, he didn’t want a big career out of music, but something happened to him that made him want to start a career. So he wanted his second album to be with an actual band. The Foos got bigger and bigger each album, and now they are mainstream stars.

The film spans their entire career, giving behind the scenes insight on the recording of each album which is interesting. Did you know that Dave was almost a full time member of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers? It’s true. Dave came really close to joining the Heartbreakers, but then he had to tell Tom “No,”, Dave wanted to do his own project.

What I liked most about the film is the recording for their new album, “Wasted Light”, which was recorded in Dave’s garage at his home. He wanted the album to be old school. He wanted that album to sound like it was recorded at your home. They recorded it on tape, instead of using Pro Tools. The Foo’s “Wasted Light” album is the best album of 2011. It’s a really incredible album, I couldn’t stop listening to it all year.

The interviews were entertaining but I thought Taylor Hawkins and Dave gave the best interviews out of everyone though. This was a very inspiring film and I think it’s better than “Pearl Jam 20”. Whether you’re a longtime Foo’s fan or never heard of them before, you should watch this anyway. It’ll make you understand the band better. Over the years, the Foos been wrongly criticized by some music fans and critics, and I think this film was used to help defend themselves. They do a good job of it too. Check this film out.

Other movies I watched on Netflix over the weekend, which were John Carpenter’s new horror film, “The Ward”, “Limitless” with Bradley Cooper, and “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night” a horror/comedy with Brandon Routh, all 3 streamable. Those three films sucked, I hated all 3 of them, but I finally watched something I liked this weekend which was the Foo Fighters, “Back and Forth” movie, Netflix DVD.

I love Netflix. So many people talk a lot of shit about Netflix and their company lately, but I’ll always support them. They need some help and I’m willing to stick with them, I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Pearl Jam 20 documentary movie, now streamable on Netflix…

Just to bring this to your attention to all you Netflix’ers (the ones that are still left out there, that is), the Pearl Jam 20 documentary is now streamable. Which is cool, and I know what I’m going to be watching tomorrow night, the “Pearl Jam 20” movie. I’ve been wanting to see this for a long while now and I’ll finally get to.

See? Netflix is fucking awesome. This is why I’ll never cancel Netflix.

I’m a long time Pearl Jam fan, been following their career for years. Never saw them live in concert yet though.

Thoughts on the show “24”…

I usually watch Netflix on TV on the days there’s nothing on cable, so I would watch a lot of “24” at night. I would have to say that the show is very “addicting”. I couldn’t stop watching it ever since I started the first episode of Season 1. I’ve just started Season 4 this week.

Jack Bauer is one of TV’s best characters, plus “24” has the best writing. The show is action packed and violent. I also love the show’s unpredictability, you just never know what will happen next. Besides Jack Bauer, some of my other favorite characters are David Palmer, Tony Almeida and of course, Kim Bauer.

So far, it’s an excellent show and I’m loving all of it. I still got ways to go to finish the series because it lasted a good 8 seasons, it’ll take me forever to get through. It’s a pretty thrilling show and I’m glad I’m finally getting into it.

So far, my favorite TV shows are: “Friday Night Lights”, “The Walking Dead”, “Game of Thrones”, “Dexter”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and now you can add “24” to that list.

Why didn’t I put “Lost” on there? Well I thought “Lost” was pretty good, but it wasn’t the best show ever. “Lost” had a lot of really whacky shit on there, I think to myself, JJ and Damon came up with that stuff? I do like some of the characters on “Lost” , but the writing can get really confusing at times.

After I complete “24”, I think I’m going to start watching “Breaking Bad”, because they just started streaming that show on Netflix now. I’ve heard good things about “Breaking Bad” and been wanting to check it out for a while.

Netflix changes their mind on “Qwikster” and separating streaming/DVD rentals…

The big news today is, that Netflix has announced that they are not doing the separate “Qwikster” company, that they had planned on doing. They are also not separating the Netflix streaming and DVD/Rentals, still keeping both of them in one site. Which is good ’cause I’ll admit it, I didn’t like the idea of separating them.

Even though they are not dropping the prices back to where it was, I’m glad they are not doing the Qwikster thing.

Hopefully they’ll still add a video game rental section like they promised. The price raise isn’t a big deal to me, I didn’t like the separation idea.

I love Netflix for a lot of reasons. 1) I like to catch up with all the TV shows I’ve never seen before in the past. For example, I watched all of “Lost” on Netflix, and I’m currently on “24” Season 3. There are other TV shows I want to watch on there too like “Mad Men”, “Heroes”, “Sons of Anarchy”, etc. 2) Netflix has a lot of indy films and documentaries where you can’t watch anywhere else 3) Netflix is like my home video store, I do their DVD rental thing so I can catch up with all the new releases.

Speaking of Netflix DVD rentals, I watched “Where the Wild Things Are”, the live action version of the children’s book. It was an okay movie, nothing all that special. I wanted to see the movie ’cause I loved the book as a child. The movie didn’t follow the book at all, so I didn’t care for it that much. I didn’t bother reviewing it.

Report: Reed Hastings speaks out on price raise of Netflix, also unveils Qwikster…

Reed Hastings, the head honcho of “Netflix” finally speaks out about the backlash of the price raise. He says the reason they did this because they are starting to realize that streaming and DVD are both becoming two different businesses. They needed to let both grow and market differently & separately. They feel the businesses need to evolve and improve.

He also unveils the Netflix DVD rental section will be re-named to, “Qwikster”. It will be the same site, you can still select all of your DVD’s and put ’em in your que’s, but different site name.

Reed also announced the surprising news, that Netflix will have a video game section in there. Soon you will be able to rent games from PS3, Xbox360, and Nintendo Wii which will be really cool.

Read, Reed Hastings, full explanation, here.

No matter what people think of Netflix’s decision, I’m still sticking with them. Yep, both streaming and DVD. The price raise is not that big of a deal. They are a business, they need to do what they need to do. Businesses change, shit happens. Have any of you out there ever owned a business? Yes, I’m sure you’ve had. All businesses want to change and evolve, the same with Netflix.

People need to relax over this.

I’m sticking with Netflix because there are a lot of TV shows on there I want to see that I have never seen before and that’s one of the reasons I joined Netflix to begin with. Plus, I like to watch movies on there too, of course. I joined their DVD rentals for the new releases.

I don’t really watch regular cable TV too much, but I’ll watch a lot of Netflix at night. The show I’m currently watching now is Kiefer Sutherland’s “24”. When I finish this show, I’m thinking of either checking out “Heroes” or “Sons of Anarchy”, not sure yet. Netflix is great, screw the haters.
