Report: Springsteen set to release new album in January…

Bruce Springsteen will release his new album sometime in January of 2009, just around the time when the newly elected president Barack Obama gets inaugurated into the White House. The new album will be a follow up to 2007’s “Magic”. The title for the new album hasn’t been revealed yet. I’ll imagine this new album will not have the E Street Band members, it will be another acoustic folk kind of record like “Devils & Dust” was.

I’ve always liked Springsteen’s acoustic work way more than his E Street Band stuff, I’ll be looking forward to hearing this.

BREAKING NEWS: Blake Fielder-Civil out of prison…

Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil is out of prison after a year of being sentenced for beating up a pub landlord and trying to cover it up in 2006.

Blake will wind himself back in sooner or later. I’m positive him being behind bars didn’t teach him anything.

RIP: Michael Crichton 1942 – 2008

Famous author and writer Michael Crichton has passed away in Los Angeles, he was 66. He has been battling cancer privately for quite some time now. He is the author of best selling novels such as “Jurassic Park”, “Timeline” and “The Andromeda Strain”.

Many of his novels were made into major movies which Steven Spielberg directed the first two Jurassic Park movies, they became the biggest movies of all time. Crichton’s novel “Congo” was also made into a film. Crichton’s work became a huge influence to many readers out there especially high school students. While Crichton’s books were mostly fiction, he still had a lot of reality and education in his storytelling.

Oh no, another great talent gone. 😦 Crichton was one of my favorite writers, I used to read his books all the time back in high school. RIP Michael.

I officially want to buy a Playstation 2!!!

Yep, I now really want to buy a Playstation 2 sometime down the road. I’m still saving up for my 32 ” Flat screen plasma TV with HD, but after I buy a new TV then I will buy a PS2.

The only reason I am soon to be buying an old Playstation 2 system is so that I can play the earlier Metal Gear Solid games, the earlier Devil May Cry games (before I buy the 4th one), the earlier God Of War series, the earlier Tomb Raider games and the earlier Grand Theft Auto series.

Last Monday, when I was at the mall, I was browsing the Playstaion 2 games at Babbages in the Wilton Mall,  and they have all those games I listed above for the PS2.

A PS2 system is very cheap these days. I can easily get a used PS2 system for about $80.00 at Babbages also. After I buy a new TV, then I will definitely buy a PS2 system.

The reason I’m doing this is because I have a 40 GB PS3 system and that thing don’t allow you to play PS2 games but it allows you to play PS1 games. I want to play the earlier games of those series I listed above so I can keep up with the storylines of those games to see what I missed. Now that you think about it. I think this is why game companies release the latest sequels for the Ps3 only so people can buy a Ps2 for the earlier games, it’s just their way of getting more money from their gamers.

BREAKING NEWS: Deftones bassist, Chi Cheng, in coma after car wreck…

Longtime bassist for the metal band Deftones is in a coma after a brutal car wreck Monday in Santa Clara, Calif. Singer Chino confirmed the news but declined to go into details.

This sucks. I’m praying for Chi and hope he survives this, my heart go out to his family, friends and of course the rest of the guys in the Deftones band.

The Deftones are a fantastic band, I am a fan myself. Although I don’t like a lot of new metal music, the Deftones are one of the best new metal bands around. They make good music. I like ’em.

Report: “Road To Perdition” trilogy in the works…

There will be two more sequels coming from the 2002 drama film “Road to Perdition” that starred Tom Hanks, the first film being directed by Sam Mendes. “Road to Perdition” is about a young boy who lives with his family during the 1930’s, and he finds out what his father Michael Sullivan Sr. (Hanks) does for a living, he works for organized crime known as the mob.

Max Allan Collins is confirmed to write and direct the next two sequels to make the “Perdition” film into a full trilogy. The next sequel will be titled “Road to Purgatory” which will leave off from the first film, Michael Sullivan Jr. returns home from World War II and seeks revenge for the murder of his father. The third film will be titled “Road to Paradise” but this article didn’t reveal plot ideas for the third one though.

“Road To Perdition” starring Tom Hanks is one of my favorite films, I love that film to death but is a trilogy really necessary? I don’t know. Depends on how good the story is and who the casting is going to be and then I’ll decide if a full trilogy is worth it.
