Report: Lars Ulrich interview…Metallica drummer speaks on cocaine use, Dave Mustaine, negative fan reviews on “St. Anger”, and more…

There is an interesting interview with Lars Ulrich at The Quietus website where Lars talks about a variety of topics. He speaks how Noel Gallagher from Oasis inspired Lars to get off cocaine.

He is still talking about Dave Mustaine of Megadeth to the media when Dave was fired from Metallica 24 years ago. Lars says that he and the rest of Metallica aren’t friends with Dave, Lars says he won’t telll Dave to back off and move on because he isn’t that kind of guy, Lars still has respect for Dave as a person and as a musician. Lars respects Dave’s work with Megadeth as Lars is a fan of Megadeth as well. Lars says that he is flattered that Dave Mustaine still loves Metallica to this day. Although they respect each other musically, they never got along personally.

More on it here:

I’ve always thought Megadeth was much better than Metallica anyways.

Will Dave and Metallica ever bury the hatchet and become friends in the future? It could be possible but I doubt it will ever happen. I’d love to one day see Metallica and Megadeth tour together but I don’t ever see Dave asking Metallica to play for Gigantour. They once shared the stage for Woodstock ’99 and that’s probably the only time you’ll see them share the stage.

I don’t think they should move on and stop thinking about the past. Mustaine is just trying to get answers on why Metallica kicked him out, and Metallica continues to refuse to admit the truth to the public. It’s no wonder Dave is still bothering Metallica because the band continues to act like assholes to him.

Report: Michael Phelps to host Saturday Night Live for 34th season premiere…

In the new upcoming season of Saturday Night Live, the golden boy Michael Phelps will host and will act in various comedy segments for the 34th Season Premiere of SNL on Sept 13th. Lil Wayne will be the musical guest that night.

It’s been said that the kid has never done any acting in his life before and it will be interesting to see how he does since this is live TV and all.

The Associated Press reports:

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5g7EC8Z00Mx2-fgOjyWQysNHNx06QD92QT8VG0

SNL probably won’t give Phelps many lines to say in his scripts since he never acted before, they’ll probably give him simple stuff so the audience can laugh at everything he says no matter what.

They’re gonna turn Phelps into a big TV star now. Don’t be surprised if they do the same to Shawn Johnson as well.

The Listening Room: Hear the new Ac/Dc song “Rock N’ Roll Train” NOW!!

After 8 years of hearing no new music by Ac/Dc, the wait is finally over!!! 🙂

Here is the new Ac/Dc song “Rock N’ Roll Train”, the official song by the band themselves.

My thoughts?

It’s a typical 3 three chord and three or four minute pop song but it’s still a great tune though, I’m digging it. It’s definitely 10 x’s much better than “You Shook Me All Night Long”. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.

Report: Even directors give their own movies bad reviews, director of “Babylon A.D.” trashes his own film…

The new film “Babylon A.D.” that stars Vin Diesel and was directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, it appears that he isn’t happy with his new film that the director just made. Mathieu has a lot of harsh and nasty things to say about his film. His original vision of the film was that he wanted the film to be R rated violent but of course the typical FOX wanted the film to be PG-13 and Matthieu couldn’t win the ratings battle over FOX. He also said he hated the script, the film had bad producers, bad partners and calls it a terrible experience. The director says he loves the book though which the film was adapted from.

The film hits theaters this Friday.

To read more on his thoughts on Babylon A.D., read the rest here:

Hmmmm, it is actually nice to finally see a director who is not always proud of his work, he is being honest about it and that’s good. Most directors think all of their films they make are so “great”, but just like a musician or a rock band have to be their own worst critic when they listen to their own music, it’s the same with film makers when they look back at their films too.

Report: Dimension films to move on without Rob Zombie for “Halloween” sequel?

This blog is claiming that a magazine called Rue Morgue is confirming that Dimension studios could move on to a “Halloween” sequel without Rob Zombie.

To be honest, I am not believing this news as I am calling it a big fat rumour, hey I’m not blaming this blogger for starting the rumour, keep in mind that, magazines can make mistakes too.

I am not believe this news until Rob Zombie himself says he is not doing a “Halloween 2”.

More on it here:

http://joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=13520

I really hope this ain’t true. I really enjoyed the Halloween remake by Rob Zombie. It’s an intense film and love it very much.

If Dimension is serious on ditching Rob Zombie for the sequel, then that would be disgraceful and a shame to the companies part. Rob Zombie made the “Halloween” remake one of the most successful horror film remakes ever made. Before the “Halloween” remake, there were hardily any horror movie remakes then. Now at the world of horror films today, most horror movie classics are all being remade now because Rob Zombie made that happen with “Halloween”. That’s how Rob changed the movie industry.

If it turns out true that Dimension is getting rid of Rob Zombie for the sequel, then I will have no interest in it at all whatsoever.

Thought: About Warner Bros. giving Superman the reboot and going for a darker tone…

So the president of Warner Bros. films gave “Superman” films a reboot a go. It is official, it’s a done deal, and signed. Superman starting over again in the series is definitely happening. Of course, this move was inspired nothing other than “The Dark Knight” getting a huge box office success.

I’m reading blogs and message boards about “Superman” getting a reboot, and many Superman fans are not happy with this idea at all. Remember, a “reboot” is NOT a “remake”. It’s a series starting over again just like Batman and James Bond are doing right now. Now Superman is heading toward that direction.

This move was also because of Bryan Singer’s “Superman Returns” not being much of a box office smash. It was still a hit and successful but not as successful as “The Dark Knight” was.

More on it here:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121936107614461929.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

My thoughts on this?

Man, I’d say go for it!!! Seriously!!! I’ve been looking for a much darker tone in Superman for many years. Maybe that is why “Superman IV: The Quest For Peace” sucked so hard and why “Superman: Returns” wasn’t that much of a hit in box office.

I loved “Superman: Returns”, don’t get me wrong, but it had too much romance and storytelling when it needs to have more action and darkness.

You don’t like Superman getting a darker tone, eh? Have you ever seen Superman III? Well, that was the darkest Superman movie of the entire series. Superman getting turned into a villain and it’s Clark Kent vs. Superman in like half of the movie, later in the film, Superman gets attacked by this woman who gets trapped into this computer machine, then she turns into a machine herself.

If you so called Superman fans stop and think, get your facts straight, many Superman comics really did have some really dark stories. I just think Warner Bros. want to adapt some Superman stories from the darker comics ’cause there are some.

Remember, Superman is not always about being good, happy and saving people all of the time. The character did have his dark moments. Sure, no one can see the Superman movies continuing without Christopher Reeve and people think the new Superman flicks will never live up to the first four, but come on people. It is not the 80’s anymore and Christopher Reeve died in real life.

Christopher Reeve himself would want Warner Bros. to continue the Superman movies without him. And back in the Chris Reeve days of Superman, they never had all that CGI and computer effects back then. It’s time for Superman films today to start using that stuff to make Superman more realistic. There was always something dark about Superman and I really am looking forward to see what WB’s can do with the reboot.

A darker Superman movie would be really good if they did it right. What I’m saying is, I’m all for it. Bring it on. While I’m sure the news of the reboot is pissing Bryan Singer off since he already started working on his sequel to “Superman: The Man of the Steel”, WB’s might ditch Singer’s project now and have a totally different and new Superman movie.

I want a Superman movie that is done right and done good. Good acting, good writing, good action. All of it. If they can pick a really good actor to play Superman/Kent and Lex Luthor, it could be just as big as “The Dark Knight”. And having a villain other than Lex Luthor would be great too. Imagine how much of a thrill ride and edge of your seat action would be if Brainiac or Doomsday were the villains in the next one?

I’m cool with the reboot. Anything based on Superman is ok in my book as I’ve been a die hard fan of the character for years. I like Superman more than Batman to be honest.

Back home from San Diego…

Well, I just got back home from my week long vacation in San Diego, California. The Governator Ah-nuld’s state. The flights to California and back home were both good.

I went with my mother to go visit my brother, his girlfriend and some other friends that lived in San Diego. We all did pretty much everything I said I was planning on doing for fun. We did go to Balboa Park to see the Air and Space musuem, and yes, the Star Trek Exhibition was there at the Air and Space Musuem as it described on the website. Yes, we did do shopping, go to the beaches, had a few drinks at a bar, ate at a few unique restaurants and of course, we did go to the San Diego Zoo.

The Star Trek Exhibition at the Air & Space Musuem in Balboa Park was wicked cool, I friggin’ loved it!!! Everything in the Star Trek musuem was nothing about Star Trek, all the TV shows and each film, it made you feel like you were part of the Star Trek experience and it was amazing to see all that in person in front of your face. You get to look at various Star Trek uniforms from each TV series and movies. You get to stand in the transporter room and visit the Enterprise bridge from the original TV series and man, lemme tell ya, the bridge looks almost exactly like the one you saw in the original TV series. When we arrived to the Next Generation stuff, we walked through the hallway almost exactly like it was in the Next Generation TV series, of course, they showed more uniforms and they had a statue head of Captain Picard as the Borg, it was the episodes where the Borg kidnapped Picard and turned him into the Borg himself. There were also model spaceships and model weapons and equipment used in the Star Trek franchise.

It’s funny, because every person who worked as an employee at the Star Trek Exhibition is a die hard fan, they know everything about Trek. I was talking to this one guy that worked there and we were talking about the upcoming Star Trek XI film, and he says he’s very excited about it. We got into interesting Star Trek conversations.

After the Star Trek musuem, we looked around the rest of the Air & Space musuem, which I loved also, it was interesting seeing the model airplanes and spaceships all over the place.

I did get a little drunk during vacation, we all went to my brother’s friends house party get together they were having, so we partied on the beach for a while and hung out at the house there, I had about 5 or 6 drinks, I didn’t drink a lot to get myself puking or passing out, I didn’t go that far. We were partying in an apartment building full of San Diego natives, mostly people who lived there their whole lives. Very nice peeps too. I was impressed that San Diego people didn’t care about the loud partying noise. Hey, it’s San Diego, whatever happens in San Diego, ahem, stays in San Diego

I did some swimming in the beaches and got sun burnt all over. Still am sun burnt. Did a lot of walking in the sun and spent a lot of time outdoors.

We went to this cool hiking trail by the beaches called Torrey Pines where you get to walk through high cliffs and see oceans and city views. That was interesting to see. It was a long hike, about a 3 or 4 hour hike or more. But fun and interesting though. I got Torrey Pines pics coming soon.

We also went to visit a beach where you get to see animals called seals. There wasn’t many out there but I took a few pics of one seal. I’ll have it up soon.

And about the San Diego Zoo, I would think that was the best thing I went to San Diego for. The San Diego Zoo was absolutely amazing. No wonder they call it the World’s Most Famous Zoo, they don’t call it that for nothing and you must see for yourself to know what I mean. We went to the San Diego Zoo yesterday, went with my mother, brother and sister, a family kind of thing. There were all kinds of animals all over the world, all kinds of birds, bears, giraffes, camels, gorillas, monkeys, tigers, reptiles, etc.

My favorite of the entire Zoo was seeing the “Polar Bear Plunge”, it’s where this huge Polar bear hangs out at, a real live one. You get to see the Polar bear swim in this giant pool and it was amazing to see, I got a bunch of pics to show you coming soon of the Polar bear.

As for resaurants we ate at, we ate lunch at this cool Mexican restaurant called the “Ortega Cocina’s”, it’s a strictly Mexican restaurant with Mexican people working there, great food and great service. We also ate at a nice sea food resaurant in downtown city San Diego called “The Fishmarket”. A restaurant that’s directly next to an oceanside. Right next to the “Fishmarket” restaurant place, there is a real aircraft carrier, yes a real aircraft carrier with planes and helicopters on the thing, it was friggin’ huge. It was unreal to see that thing. Pictures of that coming soon too.

The only thing we didn’t do in San Diego is go in the actual city part where the tall buildings are, but there’s always next time. San Diego is huge. So much things to do, you’re never bored there. It is always warm and hot there all year round nonstop with hardily any rain or nothing. It feels like summer all the time there. California was interesting. I never visited the other side of the states before and I loved it, makes me want to go there more often.

As far as Entertainment news for the blog goes, I will get back to posting that stuff up soon as I have browsed the internet for a little tiny bit to read the news that’s it, I never logged into my blog once during vacation, my brother’s house did have a computer there, just read the news while there to see what I was missing and I am seeing I am not missing much.

But there is one thing in the movie news that caught my eye that I will post next, Warner Bros. gave “Superman” the reboot a greenlight, and I’m like, huh? I will post my honest thoughts on that next blog post.

And yes, I did take a bunch of pics in San Diego, I’ll start posting up the San Diego pics tomorrow ’cause I don’t feel like messin’ around with it tonight. I just got back from an all night flight back home from across the states, I didn’t get no sleep over night. I’ll probably stay awake all day today but I will probably go to bed early tonight.

The vacation was a blast, I’m glad I went out and finally visited the other side of the states which is something I’ve always wanted to do my whole life. Pictures of the vacation coming soon, be on the lookout.
