I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.

Thought: Scarlett Johansson could be the first successful actor turned singer…

Lets see, the Bacon Brothers failed in music. Steven Segal failed in music. Billy Bob Thornton failed in music. The same goes for Russell Crowe and Bruce Willis who are also musicians. Has there ever been a successful hollywood actor turned musician in the music industry? I don’t think there ever was.

Scarlett’s upcoming album “Anywhere I Lay My Head” has been getting a lot of buzz lately. She sings Tom Waits songs on it. And you can betcha there’s going to be plenty of die hard Tom Waits fans out there that will be curious to hear her album. Her fans of her films will also buy it definitely and David Bowie fans also. So the album will definitely sell well.

I listened to that “Falling Down” track like over 10 times yesterday and couldn’t get over how great it was, the song sent chills down my spine. Scarlett does sing for real as she did a singing segment in her film “Lost in Translation” during the karoake scenes. I never really get all that excited for upcoming music albums, but I’m looking forward to picking this one up. I’m itching to hear more songs off that album now.

Report: William Regal crowned as King of the Ring…

After a long hiatus, the King of the Ring is back. And a new King has been crowned on last night’s RAW three hour special. William Regal, the current RAW general manager is now King of the WWE.

I assume that the WWE canned “King of the Ring” because of low buy rates of the ppvs.

Last night’s RAW was pretty good, William Regal wrestled well and he was actually entertaining in the ring. What does this mean now?

Does this mean no RAW GM for Regal? Will there be a replacement?

If there is going to be a RAW GM replacement since Regal maybe wrestling full time, I would say bring Eric Bischoff back. I miss that guy.

Report: Stone Temple Pilots plans to go back in studio after tour…

Stone Temple Pilots spoke with Billboard that they want to head back into the studio to record a new 6th Stone Temple Pilots album after their summer tour later this year. They also plan to release a DVD of that Houdini Estate show in Los Angeles where they had their reunion debut.

Billboard reports:

Sweet news. Hopefully the new STP record will be tight and heavy. Old school grungy STP.

Ac/Dc, STP, Metallica, and Guns N’ Roses coming out with albums this year.

We may get a rock revolution after all!

Report: Smashing Pumpkins “Zeit Geist” to be their final album?

Jimmy Chamberlin wrote on the Pumpkins official blog that the band will not record another album on CD. But he claims that the band will never break up and always will be making music, just not on CD’s you buy at the record stores. Sounds to me the band will release songs in mp3’s similar to what Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead has done.

From the Pumpkins blog:

Don’t worry, Billy and Jimmy will release another Pumpkins CD down the road again although they claim they won’t.

An actress from Star Trek’s “Deep Space Nine” TV series, Nina Visitor has been confirmed to play Jason Voorhees’s mother, Pamela Voorhees for the upcoming “Friday the 13th” remake. In “Deep Space Nine” you can see her as the character Col. Kira Nerys.

Screen Geeks Radio exclusively reports:

I used to worry that the “Friday” remake is going to suck so bad, but the cast is looking awesome so far, I am now interested in seeing the film!

Thought: Myspace clarification…

Btw, I have nothing against the “friends” personal profile part of myspace, I have nothing against that part to be honest because that’s what myspace was once was before a “friends” place to hang out. Now myspace has turned into a music site. What I am against in myspace is the music part of it. That is what’s bothering me about myspace, the music bands/artists section. I lost my respect in interacting with some of the other musicians in myspace. Some of them promised to get me on some shows of theirs, but of course they never happen and I explain more reasons, I’m just trying to keep a long story short.

It’s not an opinion and should be no surprise to you that the internet has officially taken over the music industry. People has been using the net for music, instead of buying CD’s at the stores these days. It’s getting very rare that you ever see people buying CD’s much anymore because of the online world. Itunes, myspace, etc. Buying albums from the record stores is pretty much dead. People with Ipods and mp3 players and shit like that. It’s why you constantly see crappy music high in the Billboard charts.

With my own music, I plan on doing something different. I want to find some type of html mp3 player to embed into this blog where I can play my songs while you are reading this blog. If I can find something like that, I’ll put up a jukebox player up here on the blog. I plan on turning my blog into my official website. Maybe have a new domain name that’s much cheaper. That is my plan. It is another reason why I got rid of my old official website because I plan on turning this wordpress blog into a new one. That way it can be a music website and a regular blog both at the same time. I’m gonna look into doing that. Soon if I can ever learn how to do that and I’m researching it.

Since my blog gets a lot of hits everyday (at least 1,000 hits a day), I figure uploading my songs here into a player would be a cool thing.

NEW: Hear the first single off Scarlett Johansson’s new album “Anywhere I Lay My Head” featuring David Bowie NOW!!!!

You can hear the first radio single “Falling Down” that David Bowie duets with Scarlett Johansson for her debut album “Anywhere I Lay My Head” exclusively at AOL…

Listen to “Falling Down” here:

http://us.video.aol.com/player/launcher?ar=us_en_audio_748x541_full&pmmsid=2110228

It’s a fantastic song. I absolutely love it and I’m looking forward to the album. It does have a Tom Waits vibe with Bjork mixed into it. I liked Scarlett’s vocals and the song is unique.

“Anywhere I Lay My Head” hits stores May 20th.

Enjoy. 🙂

Cool Video: Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, all to debate on RAW tonight…

Look like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton really will be there in person at tonight’s RAW ’cause they just announced they will be there in this video below. They won’t be alone though, John McCain will be there at RAW tonight too, you can see McCain doing a funny Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan impersonation which he does a good job at, lol.

Tonight’s RAW shall be interesting, and you just know that Mr. McMahon will be in the middle of this whole thing, lmaof! It ought to be entertaining!

Kev

Edit to add: Obama, Clinton and McCain will not be at RAW live in person but they will debate in a videotaped segment as you just saw here, but who knows, maybe the three will actually make a live appearance in the ring, we’ll just have to wait ’til 8:00 p.m. tonight because RAW is a special three hour show.

Report: An old school experience for Metallica at Record Store day…

After days of hard touring and hours of recording in the studio for the new Metallica album, the boys in Metallica decided to take a day off from all that to have some fun meeting fans at a six hour autograph session at Record Store day.

The autograph session took place at Rasputin Music in Mountain View, California. The store used to be Tower Records. Obsessive Metallica fans camped out in the parking lot for days hoping to be the first in line to get the wrist bands to enter the store.

Hundreds of obsessive Metallica fans traveled there from across the states and from different countries just to meet the band in person. The band will even chat with fans for a while so they won’t feel like they just go there just to get an autograph. The band was willing to sign everything the fans wanting them to sign, they even posed pictures with fans. Weird fans came in looking like old school metal like the way it used to be in the 80’s. Seems like James, Kirk, Lars, and Rob were having the time of their lives and having a blast at that record store.

Metallica are even loved by children who are fans as you see in the link below, they posed photos with kids that were there.

Read the whole story here along with photos of the day:

Pretty cool, if I had the money, I would have flown down there to meet the band myself. Sounds like a fun time.

A few videos of that day below.

Report: Guns N’ Roses tease “Chinese Democracy” release again…

Guns N’ Roses announced on the band’s official website they are in negotiations to release “Chinese Democracy” this year with tour to follow, they are closely working with their new management team.

From the band’s official website:

http://www.gunsnroses.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080420&content_id=a1&vkey=news&fext=.jsp

I’ll believe it when we actually see the damn thing on the shelves at the record stores.

Come on Axl, let America have our free Dr. Pepper!
