Cool Video: Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” trailer is online, and the film looks friggin’ SWEET!!!

Ridley Scott’s new sci fi horror film titled, “Prometheus”, which stars Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace, the teaser trailer, hits online today. The film looks awesome. While I’m a huge fan of Ridley Scott movies, I think he’s best at sci fi films, and so happy he’s finally back at that genre after all these years.

See the trailer at, AICN.

15 Films I Look Forward To In 2012…

Be careful here, this is NOT a “Best of” list, this is what films I’m looking forward to in 2012. Look like 2012 will be a killer year for movies ’cause there’s a lot I’m looking forward to seeing.

Here they are, I’ll name 15 of them in no order:

  • The Dark Knight: Rises – This is the film I’ve been waiting for a long time. I love Batman and Christopher Nolan movies.
  • The Expendables 2 – More Sly, more Bruce, more Arnold, plus JCVD and Chuck Norris!
  • GI Joe: Retaliation – This movie looks way better than the first, I’m a huge GI Joe fan.
  • The Grey –  Another Liam Neeson action movie which looks very good.
  • The Hunger Games – The film adapted from the Suzanne Collins novel, this adaptation actually looks pretty promising.
  • American Reunion – I’m definitely looking forward to reunion of the American Pie cast. I got to watch a good comedy once in a while.
  • Dark Shadows – The Tim Burton directed and Johnny Depp star in this adaptation from the classic vampire soap opera series.
  • Prometheus – This Ridley Scott directed sci fi/thriller which maybe some kind of Alien film is another film I’m really looking forward to next year.
  • The Hobbit – The Unexpected Journey – Couldn’t leave this one off the list. Looks like a wonderful film.
  • Django Unchained – The new Quentin Tarantino movie which is slated to release in Dec. of 2012.  Can’t wait for this. Love Tarantino flicks.
  • World War Z – Brad Pitt starring in a zombie film? Hell yeah. I love zombie flicks.
  • Gravity – This is a sci fi/thriller that will star George Clooney and Sandra Bullock slated to release next year. Even though I haven’t even seen a trailer, no one has, I’m already excited for this ’cause the plot sounds awesome.
  • Haywire – The Steven Soderbergh action movie starring MMA fighter, Gina Carano. Can’t wait to see this flick.
  • Bullet to the Head – The action flick starring Sylvester Stallone, adapted from the graphic novel.
  • The Avengers – The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man all team up together. Looks like a fun film.

That’s it, I’m sure there will be more movies I’m looking forward to next year, but those above I look forward to the most.

Enjoy.

Film Review: “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”

Starring: Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway

Directed by Brad Bird:

Well today, I decided to hit the mall to see “MI: Ghost Protocol”. Here is my review…

Plot/synopsis: In the 4th installment of the Mission Impossible series, Ethan Hunt and his team are racing against time to track down a dangerous terrorist named Hendricks, who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt by the team to stop him at the Kremlin ends in a disaster, with an explosion causing severe destruction to the Kremlin and the IMF being implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to invoke Ghost Protocol, under which the IMF is disavowed, and will be offered no help or backup in any form. Undaunted, Ethan and his team chase Hendricks to Dubai, and from there to Mumbai, but several spectacular action sequences later, they might still be too late to stop a disaster.

After seeing this new movie, makes me want to re-watch the first three films. I thought “Ghost Protocol”, was a whole lot of fun. It is definitely the best one of the series, and it’s very rare that the later sequels get better than the earlier movies.

I thought the plot was pretty interesting, the story maybe a little predictable, but it kept you watching ’til the very end. Most importantly of all, I was most impressed with the action scenes and the direction style of, Brad Bird. Brad Bird is one talented and unique director. He’s pretty stylish. Brad filmed most of this movie with real stunts, and they filmed on real film locations. Yes, they actually filmed at the Kremlin and that sky tower building in Dubai where Tom did that crazy high flying stunt.

I thought the cast did a decent job on the acting, and Tom was enjoyable, like usual. Josh Holloway who played Sawyer from the show “Lost”, had a real small role, it was pretty much a cameo, but he did real good though. Josh looked different with short hair and clean shaven. You’ll see Josh in the beginning of the film.

The movie was an action packed ride like I expected. Not bad for a PG-13 action movie. I thought Paula Patton who played the film’s female star, was a pretty hot woman. The action scenes were so fun, that it made you want to cheer for Tom, and the scenes did look pretty realistic with him doing his own stunts.

I thought the movie was awesome. Liked it a lot. It just gave me even more respect for Tom. I think there is going to be a 5th “MI”, movie ’cause the ending just left open for another one, of course. I’m all for another “MI”, movie. Definitely check this one out.

Score for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” = **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)

Thought: Why Tom Cruise doing his own stunts in action movies…

So why has Tom Cruise decided to do his own stunts for action movies like “MI IV: Ghost Protocol” (which I plan to see tomorrow afternoon)? Well the man’s obviously got something to prove. Maybe he’s trying to get the public’s respect back after all the negative backlashes he got in the media a few years back. I’m sure that’s not the only reason, there’s more to it then that.

Maybe he just wants it to be realistic, and he just wants to prove he can do everything for real. He doesn’t want to be looked at as a fake actor. All the risky stunts he did for this movie is pretty ballsy, especially for a dude his age. Maybe he’s fed up with all the stunt doubles and want it done for real, ya know?

Plus, he wants to show the world that he can be somebody, not just some Scientoligist idiot, jumping on Oprah’s couch. What ever it is, he’s definitely got something to prove.

I’ve never been this excited for a Mission Impossible movie ’cause I never cared for the first three. I’m actually excited as hell for “Ghost Protocol”. Looks like a great action packed ride. Looks fun.

Like him or not, Tom is a talented actor, he can do just about anything and he can play any role that throws at him. He’s done everything from bad guy to action hero. I like a lot of Tom Cruise flicks. “Risky Business”, “Top Gun”, “Rain Man”, “Legend”,”Collateral”, “Minority Report”, “Eyes Wide Shut”, and “Valkyrie” are some of my favorite movies of his. I hated his last movie, “Knight & Day”, though, that wasn’t a good one.

I’m looking forward to “Ghost Protocol” tomorrow, and of course, I’ll review the film when I get back.

Cool Video: “The Dark Knight: Rises” trailer is finally here!!!

Oh my! This movie is looking pretty fuckin’ amazing. I loved the trailer. Bane’s voice is scary as hell. Could that character easily top Heath Ledger’s, Joker? Yes, definitely! I love Batman and I’m definitely looking forward to this movie. Hopefully, Warner Bros. will release Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” trailer, after this. Enjoy.

Wow, I just realized that Sly Stallone has two movies coming out in 2012!!!

I remember, before “Rocky Balboa” (Rocky VI) came out, Sly’s career was in a big career slump at that time. Before, the new “Rocky” movie came out, he had a hard time being accepted again in Hollywood ’cause no one wouldn’t take him seriously anymore. They all thought Sly was old and washed up actor. People attacked Sly that he didn’t belong in Hollywood anymore ’cause he was making straight to video movies before the new “Rocky” movie was released.

It’s really great to see Sly become successful again. Thanks to Rocky, Rambo, and the Expendables. Sly is now a mainstream star again, which is nice.

Sly has been a work horse lately. He’s got two new movies coming out in 2012, “The Expendables 2” and “Bullet to the Head”, in which he is starring the leading roles in both of them. Both films are action films too.

While everyone thought that Sly bringing back Rocky & Rambo back to the big screen one more time was a silly idea, it was a smart career move. Think about it. If Sly never did bring back Rocky & Rambo, he would STILL be a struggling actor. He just did whatever it took to bring his career back on track.

I think he’s going to be done with acting soon ’cause he said he planned on retiring to concentrate on directing mostly. I remember him saying he will act in a few more films starring the leading roles, then he’ll be done.

The more Sly, the better. Can’t wait to see, “Expendables 2” and “Bullet to the Head”.

“Game of Thrones” and Peter Dinklage getting nominated is the only things that matter for the Golden Globes…

Well the Golden Globe nominations are here. The only nominations,  I’m pretty much excited about is “Game of Thrones” being nominated for Best Drama TV series and Peter Dinklage (aka Tyrion) getting nominated for “Best Actor in a Supporting Role”.

The rest of the nominees are pretty disappointing. Look like this is going to be a big year for George Clooney, because he has two films out that could be huge for the Golden Globes/Oscars, “The Descendants” and “The Ides of March”. I haven’t seen either films but looking forward to seeing them when they hit DVD.

I haven’t even seen, “The Help” yet, but I’ll probably rent the DVD through Netflix sometime. Only Best Picture movie I’ve seen, was “Moneyball”, which was a really good film though. I do want to see Spielberg’s new movie, “War Horse”, I’ll probably wait for DVD on that one too.

“Game of Thrones” and Peter Dinklage will probably win. Peter is a talented actor, I love the “Game of Thrones” series, and can’t wait for Season 2 later this year.

Cool Photo: Ridley Scott’s “Promestheus” poster released…

The teaser poster for Ridley Scott’s directed, “Prometheus”, sci-fi/horror film have been released yesterday. It looks pretty cool. Not sure if this is supposed to be a prequel to his Alien film or not, but we’ll have to see the film for ourselves, I guess. Looking forward to it. I’m a huge fan of Ridley Scott movies.

More on that mysterious face on “TDK: Rises” Bane poster…

Some guy in a Superman fan forum in facebook, did this photo, trying to prove that mysterious face on the, “TDK: Rises”, Bane poster is a reference to Superman.

There are still a lot of people that say that the mysterious face is nothing and not Superman at all, but I believe it is.

That’s the whole point of the mystery, I guess. Christopher Nolan is a creative genius, he knows how to get people talking about his movies.
