Cool Photo: Is this Superman’s new “S” shield logo from Zack Snyder’s and Christopher Nolan’s new Supes flick????

“The Licensing International Expo.” is happening in Las Vegas this week and there it teases films from “The Avengers”, “The Dark Knight Rises” and Zack Snyder’s “Superman”. Above you see Superman’s official new “S” shield logo for Zack Snyder’s “Superman”.

Which is way fucking cool. I love it!

I was a little worried that Snyder and Nolan were going to make the “S” logo differently, but it looks like they are keeping the Superman costume the same red, yellow and blue, and the “S” logo will be the same as Christopher Reeve’s.

Hopefully soon, Snyder, Nolan, and Warner Bros. will reveal what Henry Cavill looks like in the Superman suit.

The question is, will they do that at this year’s San Diego Comic Con? That’s what I’ve been wondering myself if Superman and Batman both will be at this year’s Comic Con. According to reports, Superman and Batman will NOT be at this year’s comic con.

More on the story here.

Remember, Superman and Batman franchises have been avoiding the Comic Con’s for years, but never say never. Maybe Warner Bros. will be there to reveal some stuff about Superman and Batman out of no where to surprise the fans. The Comic Con events are always full of surprises, you never know what will happen at those things.

Back to Zack Snyder’s “Superman”, I’m sure he will stay true to the franchise and you can already see it with the logo above. Zack knows what he’s doing, he’s a huge Superman fan like most of us, so I don’t think he’ll fail this movie at all.

Tomorrow is a big release day!!!

Two HUGE releases are set for tomorrow. Yes, the “Superman – The Motion Picture Anthology” comes out on Blu Ray (It’s for Blu Ray only, the new “Superman” set won’t be available for DVD, I don’t think) and “Duke Nukem Forever” video game both hits the shelves tomorrow.

Yes, I plan on getting both of these. I will get the “Duke Nukem” game first sometime this week.

I do plan on getting the “Superman” Blu Ray set but I’m going to wait for several weeks to save up cash for it, ’cause obviously the “Superman” Blu Ray set is very expensive. I really want it really fucking badly though ’cause you all know that I’m such a die hard Superman fan. The Superman set looks fantastic. The Superman set doesn’t only have the 5 Superman films which includes Bryan Singer’s “Superman: Returns”, it also has a bunch of Superman animated films and a few documentaries. Plus I heard the sound and the picture of the 5 films is way better than regular DVD. I’m so definitely getting the Superman set sometime, not right now though.

I’m excited for “Duke Nukem”. Glad the release date is staying for June 14th and not being pushed back anymore. The game is finally here! I fuckin’ love “Duke Nukem”, man. Used to be obsessed with the older games back when I was in high school. Used to play the older games on the PC for hours.

The new “Duke Nukem” game will probably sell pretty well. So will the new Superman Blu Ray set.I am noticing that Blu Ray discs are becoming way more popular than regular DVD’s. DVD sales are dropping while Blu Ray sales are going up. I would like to start a Blu Ray collection and buy more but they are pretty pricey. I want to get the Superman Blu Ray so maybe that’ll be the start of my Blu Ray collection. I do have a few Blu Rays. The only Blu Ray discs I have in my movie collection are “WWII in HD” and “Memento – 25th  Anniversary”. I could buy all my favorite movies on Blu Ray and sell the same film on DVD to get rid of it.

I’m just waiting for the prices on the Blu Ray discs to drop down. The prices will drop, the more popular Blu Ray gets, just give it time. It will happen. That’s what happened with DVD when DVD first came. DVD’s were very expensive when they were first invented but DVD prices dropped the more popular they get. Same will happen with Blu Ray.

Netflix Pick (DVD): The Hangover

Earlier this evening I finally saw the first movie, of “The Hangover”. I never saw it before. Wanted to, but never got around to it until now. Wanted to see the first one before I decide to see the sequel. It was a DVD rental from Netflix.

The story tells about 4 guys who are best friends, they go to Las Vegas to party & have fun because their friend, Doug was getting married, and this was their way of celebrating for him. When they arrive in Vegas to get a hotel room, they party on the roof of the hotel building, and the next morning, things goes wrong. They find a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in a closet. Plus, their friend Doug was missing. They don’t even remember what happened last night because they were so drunk they couldn’t remember everything. They needed to go find Doug so they can bring him home for his wedding but he was no where to be seen.

I was pretty surprised of this movie. It was very entertaining. There were some scenes where I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at some of it. I thought it was a perfect comedy all around. The writing was great and I like Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms (of “The Office) teaming together. Of course, Mike Tyson’s cameo was the best part of the movie.

“The Hangover” series is the most talked about comedy series on the internet and that’s what made me want to check it out. Hey, I’m a fan of comedies, I like to watch them once in a while. I need to smile and laugh every now and then. I’m looking forward to “The Hangover II” in theater which I will try to see before it stops playing.

I need to see “Super 8” in theater first though. I will go see “Super 8” in theater sometime this week ’cause I plan to pick up the new “Duke Nukem: Forever” game for the PS3.

Back to the first, “Hangover” movie, I really loved it. It was one of the best new comedies I’ve seen in a while.

Cool Photo: First poster of David Fincher’s “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” hits the internets….it’s uncensored and has naked boobies…

There’s the first poster that just hit online today. The poster for David Fincher’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”. It’s no fake. It’s real and official made by the movie studios themselves. Of course, I’m sure this poster won’t be posted in your local theaters for obvious reasons. That is a great poster.

If I can find a way to order that poster online somewhere, I would love to hang it up in here.

You asked, why is Lisbeth Salander so skinny, small boobs and the piercings? It’s because that’s how Steig Larrson described her in the book. Fincher is staying true with the character which is good.

Lisbeth Salander, is finally coming to the US! Can’t wait to see this flick. I’m sure Fincher’s version will be much better than the piece of shit Swedish version. I’ll be seeing this film on the day it comes out. Love the book.

Report: Leo Dicaprio in negotiations to star in Quentin Tarantino’s next flick, “Django Unchained” as a villain…

Quentin Tarantino has been wanting to work with Leo Dicaprio for years, and looks like now he’ll finally be able to. Leo is getting close to a deal to star as the main villain for the spaghetti Western film, “Django Unchained”. Dicaprio will be playing an owner of a club called, Candyland, in Mississippi where he would treat women as slaves. He also has males pitted in “mandingo” style death matches.

It looks like Will Smith is not agreeing to star in this movie so far, so it looks like Will Smith will be out. Idris Elba, Chris Tucker and Jamie Foxx are backups in case Will does officially say “No”!

Read more here @ Deadline.

I hope Will Smith does back out ’cause I thought he was a bad choice anyway. If anything, I would like Jamie Foxx to star in it more. Jamie is very popular and he would sell the movie more than Will Smith, in my opinion.

I’m glad Leo will finally get to work with Quentin.

People maybe getting tired of Leo Dicaprio, I am too, but you can’t deny that Leo has been in so many great movies. I think Leo and Quentin would make a great team up.

Will Quentin get another chance at the Oscars for this film, “Django Unchained”? Too early to tell but we’ll wait and see how the movie looks first.

Netflix Pick (DVD): The Green Hornet

So I finally saw the new “Green Hornet” movie that stars Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, and Christoph Waltz. I saw it last Sunday night. A Netflix DVD rental.

The movie is obviously adapted from the famous radio show, comics, and TV series. In the TV series, Bruce Lee the martial arts legend originally played Kato. Now, actor Jay Chou takes over the role for the new film. I didn’t see this film in theater, ’cause I was pretty skeptical of it. I don’t like Seth Rogen as an actor. Can’t stand him. He’s a terrible actor. When I heard he was going to star as the main hero, I’m like, “Oh please no, NOT Seth Rogen, anybody but him!” So I waited for DVD rental on this. Which is well worth the wait.

The movie turned out very good and extremely entertaining. I actually liked Seth in this movie. For once, Seth is in a good movie in which he doesn’t make his acting so boring. He actually did a decent job.

The plot actually followed the original story and stayed true to it pretty well. I was surprised. The plot is pretty much the same thing, Britt Reid becomes owner of a newspaper company after his father dies. Britt meets up with a martial arts expert, Kato, in which they end up helping each other stop a robbery. Knowing that their names are in the news and becoming heroes because of it, this is what inspired them to become, “The Green Hornet”. In which they would wear costumes and green masks. Kato would build a bunch of cars in which he turned them into weapons. Kato also invented several gadgets and new weapons for them to fight crime for.

Christoph Waltz plays a villain named Chudnofsky, who is a Russian gangster trying to form a super-mafia in Los Angeles. “The Green Hornet” tries to stop them to save the city.

Just like the original “Green Hornet” series, it adds a lot of comedy and humor throughout the film. Especially the epic fight scene between Britt and Kato at the house which is my favorite scene of the film. The film had some great action scenes and they were pretty fun to see. Cameron Diaz and Christoph Waltz were also good as well.

I thought this was a pretty good film. I’m a huge Green Hornet fan. Followed the Green Hornet series for years. Check it out when you get a chance.

My next Netflix DVD rental is going to be the first “Hangover” movie. I never saw the first, “Hangover” movie yet, and wanted to see the first one before I decide to see the second one. I should be getting “The Hangover” in the mail tomorrow.

Report: New “Star Trek” video game is on the way!!!

Last year, Cryptic Studios released a Star Trek game, called, “Star Trek Online”. Which is an online multi-player game for the PC only. Just announced earlier this week, Paramount announced that there will be a new “Star Trek” video game that will be available for the PS3, Xbox, and PC. The new “Star Trek” game will be adapted from JJ Abrams 2009’s “Star Trek” movie. The new game will continue the adventure from that film, and you’ll get to play either Spock or Kirk. The new “Star Trek” game will be released sometime next year in 2012.

More on it, here.

As a huge Star Trek fan, I’m very excited for this, so I’ll definitely be getting it. I wonder if they’re going to have Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine voice for Spock and Kirk?

I’m sure it’ll be a nice game.

Film Review: “X-Men: First Class”

Directed by: Matthew Vaughn

Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence

Yesterday afternoon, before I went to see, “Battle of the Bands” at SPAC, I went to the mall to check out “X-Men: First Class” and do a little fun shopping after. I bought a few more books of the Game of Thrones “Song of Ice and Fire” series: “Clash of Kings” and “Storm of Swords”. Looking forward to reading the next book, “Clash of Kings” because I’m almost done reading the first one, “Game of Thrones”. I also picked up a few music CD’s from Best Buy. I picked up, Eddie Vedder’s new album, “Ukulele Songs” and Black Label Society’s new album, “The Song Remains Not the Same”.

On with my review….
Plot/synopsis: This is a prequel to Bryan Singer’s first “X-Men” movie. The story is the beginning of Magneto and Professor X. It started with their childhood to being grown men. The story tells how Magneto and Professor X became best friends, discovering their powers and having fun with it. They learn that other mutants have similar powers but each mutant can do different things. Together, Magneto and Professor X get together with the other young mutants to train each other their powers on how to use them better. The film features a lot of mutants from the X-Men comics such as Mystique, the White Queen, Beast, and Riptide. Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) knew Magneto since his childhood and Sebastian was the first one to discover Magneto’s powers. Sebastian starts his own group called, the Hellfire Club, because he was obsessed with taking over the world. President Kennedy announces that a Russian freighter is moving nuclear missiles to Cuba, so Professor X’s mutant team tries to stop that from happening to save the world.

That’s all I’ll go with the plot. I know there has been too many superhero films these days. They’ve been coming out like crazy. Most new superhero movies aren’t that great. In “X-Men: First Class”, I thought the writing was intelligently done, it was smart writing. Who ever wrote the script, is obviously a huge X-Men fan and he knows his shit with the characters, and the story. The screenwriter took it very seriously and I can tell. The writing was insightful, detailed and smart.

The acting of the cast was very well done. Could there be a few Oscar nominations with the acting in this movie? Maybe Kevin Bacon will get nominated for Sebastian Shaw, because I was impressed with him the most. Kevin Bacon played a lot of villain characters in movies such as “The River Wild”, “Hollow Man”, “Sleepers”, etc. I thought this was Kevin’s best villain role. Kevin did an excellent job playing a villain you really want to hate. He was a real psycho in this movie. I was also very impressed with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, they teamed up well together. I also loved Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, she was perfect for the character.

The movie is very action packed. The action scenes were pretty epic, a thrill ride. I thought the special effects and sound were beautiful. The musical score was amazing as well. Yes, the film had the whole package. It was a perfect superhero film. I thought this was the best new superhero film since “The Dark Knight”. Seriously, I had a fucking blast watching, “X-Men: First Class”. I was never bored and didn’t fall asleep once. This film made you wonder what it would be like if Mutants actually existed for real in this world.

Yes, Hugh Jackman makes a cameo in this film. No cameo from Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen though which is the only disappointing thing about this film. I’m sure there’s going to be a sequel where Professor X and Magneto face off each other.

Do yourself a favor and check this movie out this weekend! I FUCKING LOVED IT! I would go see it again!

Score for “X-Men: First Class – **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)

Report: “Rocky – The Musical” finally moves forward…

“Rocky – The Musical” has been in the talks for years, and it’s finally happening with newly hired writers. Songwriters, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have been hired to write, “Rocky – The Musical” along with novelist, Thomas Meehan. Just last April, the creators and producers held a private reading of the musical with the Rocky creator himself, Sylvester Stallone. While Sly himself will not star in the musical, he will still be a part of it by being an artistic partner and producer. Sly still owns the rights to the Rocky franchise.

Rocky the Musical will hit  the theatre stage in Germany in 2012 and will arrive in Broadway in New York sometime in 2013.

More on the story, here.

I wish them the best of luck. It’s going to be hard to find an actor that can match Sly’s look and it’s going to be very challenging to imitate Sly’s speaking voice in the first, “Rocky”. Everyone tries to imitate Rocky’s speaking voice, but yeah, it’s very hard to do. In my opinion, Sly can’t be copied. I’m interested on who they’re going to hire to play Rocky Balboa for the musical. They’re obviously gonna go for a young actor.

I just wonder if they’re gonna have Frank Stallone cameo the musical. When they start singing, “Take You Back” (which is a song that Frank wrote for the movie), that’s when Frank would come out singing the song with the cast on stage. That would get the audience going.

Sly’s been talking about “Rocky – The Musical” for a long time and he’s actually making it happen.

Remember, the Rocky and Little Marie scene? This is going to be a hard scene to pull off for the play, again Sly’s speaking voice. I’ll be amazed if they can actually pull this musical off.
