Saw the “Green Book” movie and I freakin’ loved it… pretty amazing and well-done film!

Yesterday afternoon, I saw the “Green Book” movie. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this movie and it looked interesting to me so I went to see it for myself. I thought it was a very good movie. It was pretty amazing really and I was really impressed with it. It’s definitely one of the best movies of this year for sure.

This is a drama/comedy film about friendship and it’s also a road movie as you can see. There’s a lot of road movies out there but this one of the best road movies I’ve seen in a long time. This is a film about a nightclub bouncer who’s looking for work while the club he worked at closed down for a while due to renovations. This nightclub bouncer whose name is Tony Lip (played by Viggo Mortesen) just didn’t want to stay home and do nothing and he just wanted to keep working. Tony gets hired to be a driver for a black man who is a virtuoso pianist by the name of Dr. Don Shirley (played by Mahershala Ali). Don Shirley is about to go on tour for his piano playing and he wants Tony to be his driver. They go down South for the tour. At first they had a hard time getting along for the first half of the movie and the second half, they became really close friends. Since these two are on the road, they will of course experience quite an adventure and they will experience a lot of ups and downs while on tour. There will be a lot of funny moments and a lot of emotional moments. This movie is taking place during the early 60’s so it will be taken place during the times of the segregation, back in the times when blacks weren’t accepted in this country.

I thought this movie was well done overall. Great writing, great acting, great directing and great cinematography as well. Of course, I was impressed with the film’s leading stars, Viggo and Mahershala. I think those two are going to get Oscar nominated for sure. Will this film get “Best Picture” nomination as well? Hopefully and I think it will. There are plenty of buddy movies out there but if you want to watch a real buddy movie, see this one. This movie had a lot of heart and it really showed you what friendship between two men is all about. A lot of times, two men who are best friends with each other first met by not getting along at first. I think this film can relate to every man in this country for this reason. I certainly made friends with other guys by not getting along with them at first. Happens with everybody. That’s how friendships grow.

I thought it was a beautifully made movie. It was perfect. Hollywood certainly doesn’t make movies like this anymore. After all the popcorn movies and action flicks full of CGI, it was refreshing to finally watch a serious movie like this. I love serious drama films and we need more of them.

Go see “Green Book” before it stops playing. You won’t be disappointed at all.

Cool pic of Sly Stallone and Arnold having dinner together in Vegas… why have they been hanging out lately? Planning a movie or something?

Sly’s official clothing line on instagram posted a cool pic of Sly Stallone himself and Arnold having a Sushi dinner together at some restaurant in Las Vegas. Sly is just getting done filming Rambo and now he has some free time to do whatever he wants for himself so it looks like him and Arnold took a trip to Vegas this week. I notice Sly and Arnold has been hanging out again. Why? Are they planning a movie together or they just plain hanging out as buddies and that’s it?

Well Sly still has “Expendables 4” in development and maybe Sly’s been talking with Arnold in starring in the next Expendables movie. That could be what’s going on.

You see, Sly and Arnold may not have starred in many movies over the years together but they have been great friends for many years even though both of them are action movie icons. For many years they’ve avoided starring in films together until now. Now the two of them have starred in 4 films together: the first three Expendables and the first “Escape Plan” movie. Will they star in more movies together? “Expendables 4” yes, absolutely but as for other films, I don’t know.

I’m not a big fan of Arnold’s politics but I still respect him the Hollywood icon that he is, you can’t deny that. I love Arnold in the movies. Always had for a pretty long time. I grew up watching Arnold in the movies and I grew up watching Sly’s movies too. I grew up watching both of them.

I’m glad to see Sly and Arnold have become best friends. Maybe one day Sly will direct a movie with Arnold in the leading role and Sly won’t be in it. That’ll be cool too and I can see that happening one day. I hope they will do “Expendables 4” and they probably will.

Top 15 Movies I’m looking forward to in 2019…

It’s almost at the end of the year and I wanted to list all the movies I’m looking forward to seeing in the year 2019. There are some good ones coming out. This isn’t a best of list or anything, just movies I look most forward to seeing next year.

Here is the list in no particular order:

  • Star Wars Episode IX: The final film of the new Star Wars trilogy is of course on my list. I’ve seen all the new Star Wars films Disney has been putting out lately and I think they’re doing a good job with them. Yes, I did love “The Last Jedi”… I thought it was brilliant.
  • Avengers: Endgame: No new Batman and Superman movie that year but I’ll take a new Avengers film anytime. I love the first three Avengers films and looking forward to the fourth one. From what I’m seeing, this is the final Avengers film and it looks great.
  • Rambo: Last Blood: The fifth Rambo film is still slated for a 2019 release date so hopefully it sticks and the release doesn’t get any push backs. I’m definitely looking forward to the new Rambo and will be seeing it no matter what.
  • Terminator 6: Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamiliton reuniting for the next Terminator? Fuck yeah. Any Terminator fan would be crazy to skip this one.
  • Toy Story 4: I’m a huge Toy Story fan. Loved the first three movies and definitely looking forward to 4.
  • Captain Marvel: One superhero movie I’m actually looking forward to see. So far from what I’m seeing of this movie, I’m liking it.
  • Godzilla: King of the Monsters: Just saw the trailer for this flick and I’m a huge Godzilla fan so I’ll probably end up seeing this one.
  • It: Chapter Two: The sequel to Stephen King movie is coming out soon and I’ll probably go see this one too. In this film, the Losers Club will be full grown adults this time. Should be an interesting movie.
  • Once Upon A Time In  Hollywood: A new Quentin Tarantino movie based on the Charles Manson murders is coming out and I’m definitely going to see this one. I love Tarantino movies so I can’t miss this one.
  • Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark: I used to be a huge fan of these books when I was a kid so I’m looking forward to the movie adaptation. Looking forward to seeing what they’re going to do with it.
  • Joker: The Todd Phillips directed “Joker” movie which stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. Definitely not gonna miss this one ’cause it’s looking good so far from what I’ve seen.
  • Hellboy: I’m a pretty big Hellboy fan. Loved the original movie so I’m hoping the remake will be good and probably will be.
  • Ad Astra: An outer space science fiction movie that stars Brad Pitt. Haven’t seen any trailers for it yet or anything but from what I’m hearing about it looks pretty interesting. Science fiction is slowly making a comeback anyway.
  • Midsommar: The director of “Hereditary” horror film is coming out with another horror film next year and it’s going to be about the Pagan cult. Ari Aster did a great job with “Hereditary” so I’m sure this one is gonna be good too.
  • The Irishman: New Martin Scorsese film coming out that has an all-star cast… Robert Deniro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, etc. This film is based on a real life crime story. Yeah, Robert Deniro’s politics suck ass but he’s still a talented actor and I’m probably gonna go see this one anyways.

That’s it. Enjoy the list, y’all!

Does “Black Panther” deserve to be praised as the best movie ever made? No, it wasn’t all that great and I believe all the praise is all political, nothing more…

So “Black Panther” just got the Best Picture nomination at the Golden Globes this year so this means that “Black Panther” will probably get the Best Picture nomination at the Oscars too. I am predicting that “Black Panther” will probably win both awards for sure, no matter what happens.

Like the title of this topic says, does the film “Black Panther” deserve all of these high praises and over hyping it as the best movie ever made? No, it absolutely does not. I went and saw it myself at the theater and did not think it was all that great. The film had some good moments. It had some pretty good action scenes but that’s about it. Most of the film was a mess to me and it was pretty boring mostly. It had all kinds of writing problems and the acting wasn’t that great either. I just didn’t get it.

I just don’t understand why everyone is over hyping this film like if it’s the “Best movie ever”. No way this is the best movie ever made. They tried to do the same with “Mad Max: Fury Road” and I hated that film so much and still do.

Why does the movie industry have to choose what movie is “the best” and force their opinion down our throats? It’s been happening a lot lately. Why can’t we, us movie fans decide what film is “the best”? We used to be able to do that but nowadays it seems like the movie industry forces their opinion down our throats. Sadly, most people are agreeing that “Black Panther” and “Mad Max: Fury Road” are the best movies ’cause they are so naive and some just like to agree with everything the media says when they don’t need to.

“Black Panther” is being over hyped as the “best film” ever made ’cause in my opinion, it’s all politically motivated obviously. Remember the Oscars “too white” movement? It’s still going on apparently. That’s what it’s all about. The movie industry wants to give something to the black community. The award shows wants people to know that the black community can have talent in the movies and they don’t want you to forget that. The movie industry wants to make more movies aimed toward the black community audience so they can win more awards. They don’t want to be left out of the award scene. That’s why you’re seeing more blacks and more diversity at award shows nowadays. You see, it’s all political motivated… mostly about race and all that stuff.

I know someone is gonna come around and call me a racist and all that stuff like a typical liberal would do but hey, I enjoy movies that are mostly aimed toward a black audience. There are a lot of black actors and actresses that I love. There are a lot of black movies that I love such as: “Malcolm X”, “The Color Purple, “Boys in Da Hood”, “Straight Outta Compton”, “Get Out”, “Coming to America”, “Menace II Society”, “New Jack City”, “Barbershop”, “Harlem Nights”, “Shaft”, etc. The list goes on and on. It’s just that “Black Panther” wasn’t a great movie. Doesn’t deserve all this hype.

I still think “A Star Is Born” with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga was the best movie of the year. I didn’t like “Black Panther” and sticking with my opinion.

Is Sylvester Stallone getting ready to retire from acting pretty soon? Me thinks so, yes…

Well, Sly just wrapped up filming “Rambo: Last Blood” which means he’s all done filming for the movie. Next thing you know, Sly announced that he has retired the Rambo character for good too. So Sly retired Rocky and now Rambo.

What’s next? “Expendables 4” still needs to happen and that film is still in the works so I would think “EX4” could be Sly’s next film. “Expendables 4” could start filming anytime now, probably in 2019. Sly is still committed to doing “Expendables 4” and that’s probably gonna be the last time he’s gonna play Barney Ross too.

With all this going on, is Sly getting ready to retire from acting pretty soon? Yes, I believe he is. He did talk about retiring from acting in the past  before but he’s not going to retire from Hollywood for good, though. I remember Sly saying in the past that he wants to write and direct more films that he’s not starring in more.

After “Creed II”, he’s got more movies coming out that he’s working on: “Backtrace” “Rambo: Last Blood”, “Tough As They Come”, “The Expendables 4” and “Scarpa”. That’s pretty much it.

I really believe he’s about to hang it up on acting pretty soon… he’s just going to finish those movies listed above and that’s probably it. That’s understandable… Sylvester is 72 years old right now and I think he still has some action movies left in him before he gets too old. If he wants to retire from acting to focus more on directing then that’s great.

The man obviously has a huge passion for making movies, you can tell that he loves it. That’s why he keeps working. Sly probably wants to direct more ’cause it’s probably not as hectic of a job as acting. Sly has a family and he wants to spend more time with them.

Usually famous actors who spent most of their lives acting in movies just get so tired of it and they want to do something different. That’s why a lot of famous actors over the years has turned to directing like Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson and many others.

As far as Sly Stallone goes, I’ve always respected this man immensely. I remember in the past when Sly’s career was in a slump, he got hated on and criticized so much. Now you don’t see people hating on him anymore. Sly finally got the respect he deserves and he earned it. He definitely turned his career around for sure, love him or hate him.

Saw “Creed II” yesterday afternoon and I thought it was an incredible film… very well done film… I was impressed…

So yesterday afternoon after I did my Christmas shopping, I went and finally saw “Creed II”. I thought it was an incredible and very well done film. Like the blog title says, I was very impressed. It’s definitely one of the best Rocky films in the series. Still won’t top the 1st one but “Creed II” is definitely the second best Rocky film.

I thought the film was very well acted by the whole cast, very well written and very well directed too. It was an all around great movie so no complaints at all and it was definitely way better than the first “Creed” movie. They really stepped their game up with “Creed II”.

Michael B. Jordan’s acting skills has been heavily criticized for the past several years of his career and I can understand why ’cause I haven’t been too thrilled with his acting skills lately. I thought Michael was really good in “Creed II”, though. It seems he is getting better and better with his acting. I wasn’t too thrilled with his acting in the first Creed movie but he was actually impressive in the second one. Michael was actually watchable this time.

In the past, a lot of people thought it would be a silly idea to bring Ivan Drago back but I think it’s a great idea and it makes total sense to bring Drago back. As a matter of fact, I always knew that Drago would come back in a Rocky film in some way whether it would be for Rocky 7 or a prequel, reboot or a spinoff. It ended up being for a spinoff. I was really impressed witih Dolph Lundgren’s acting in this movie too. He still plays Ivan Drago really well after all these years and Ivan talks a lot more in this one too. Even though Dolph was originally from Sweden, he’s very good at getting the Russian accent down. Why is Dolph so good at playing a Russian character? It’s because he played a lot of Russian characters in his direct-to-video action movies that he played in over the years. Dolph played a very good villain in the movie. Dolph still played a very scary and evil villain that you really wanted to hate just like in “Rocky IV”.

The movie had plenty of flashbacks and memories from the earlier Rocky films which is what made it interesting. I won’t spoil anything but the film did had a few surprising cameos.

The Creed spinoffs makes it looks like that it’s about celebrating the history of Apollo Creed and Rocky Balboa but the way I see the Creed films, not really. The films are about avenging the death of Apollo. I see these as revenge movies ’cause that’s what they are technically. Adonis wanting to get revenge at Ivan Drago for killing his father.

“Creed II” was more powerful than the earlier Rocky films. The new film had more heart and it was a lot more sad and emotional. “Creed II” had too many mixed emotions while you watch it… it’ll also make you happy, laugh at the comedic scenes and make you have a blast watching the training scenes and boxing matches.

As far as Sly’s acting goes, he kills it like he always does really. Sly announced that “Creed II” will be the final time he’ll be playing Rocky. “Creed III” will probably end up happening but it’s going to be without Rocky sadly. That’s understandable ’cause Sly is getting old. He feels he can no longer play the Rocky Balboa character anymore due to his age.

With all this being said, “Creed II” was an amazing film and I was blown away by it. Will the film land some Oscar nominations? I don’t know, we’ll see. I can see it getting nominated for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and that’s about it.

If you’re a Rocky fan, you definitely gotta go see this one.

Sylvester Stallone announces that he’s done playing the Rocky Balboa character for good. “Creed II” will be the last time he’ll be playing him…

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bquk06OharC/

Sly Stallone, the man himself exclusively revealed the news on his instagram page that he’s done playing Rocky for good. He came close to retiring the character in 2006 with the film, “Rocky Balboa” (or Rocky 6) but then the Creed spin-offs happened and things changed. Sly decided to play the Rocky character again for two more films. Why did Sly continue to play Rocky after Rocky 6? Well Sly probably figured that the Creed spinoff films can’t be done without the Rocky character. It made total sense to bring him back. The films are about celebrating the history of Apollo Creed and that can’t be done without Sylvester Stallone playing Rocky. Easy to understand isn’t it?

Now that Sly announced he’s done with Rocky, I get this feeling what’s going to happen to Rocky in “Creed II”. I still haven’t seen “Creed II” yet but hoping to see it next week and I will.

Thank you, Sly. Rocky Balboa has been an inspiration in my life over the years. These movies aren’t just boxing movies, these are films about “life” really. I’ve been a huge fan of the Rocky character ever since I was a child. I remember being a young child watching the first Rocky film and I’ve been hooked to Rocky films ever since. I grew up watching all the films and seen all 5 Rocky movies so many times. Actually, I just re-watched the first 6 Rocky films last week and I’m about to watch the first “Creed” movie sometime this week.

It’s interesting that Sly wants to retire both Rocky and Rambo. There’s one more Rambo film coming and that’s probably gonna be the last one. Might as well get those films out of the way before Sly gets too old

Rocky has been a huge part of all of our lives whether you want to admit it or not. Sly’s acting skills has always gotten mixed reviews but I always thought he was a phenomenal actor. I always saw that the man’s got acting talent. People finally saw that he’s got talent when the first “Creed” movie came out which he got Oscar nominated for. While the first “Creed” movie was his best performance in his career, I’m sure his performance in “Creed II” will be even better. Can’t wait to see the new film! I’m definitely gonna try to see it before it stops playing.

Saw the “Bohemian Rhapsody” movie earlier today and I was really surprised by it, turned out really great!

“Bohemian Rhapsody” turned out to be a great film. I’ve seen Queen’s – Live Aid performance many times before but the film made me want to watch it again.

There are only very few music biopic films that I like. My favorite music biopic movies are: “La Bamba”, “The Buddy Holly Story”, “Walk the Line”, “Ray” (the movie about Ray Charles starring Jamie Foxx), “Straight Outta Compton” and now you can add “Bohemian Rhapsody” to the list.

Whether you’re a die-hard Queen fan or not much of a fan, either way you need to go see it. The movie seemed pretty accurate with the history of Queen which is what impressed me the most. “Bohemian Rhapsody” was really great, I liked it a lot. Check it out.

Before some of you watch this film, I know some of you are going to be like, “Am I going to be watching a lot of gay stuff due to Freddie’s bi-sexual lifestyle?” Yes, you’re definitely going to see homosexual stuff in the film but not too bad. They don’t go too overboard with the gay stuff so there’s nothing worry about. This is not “Brokeback Mountain”. They wanted to keep “Bohemian Rhapsody” as family friendly as possible as a film for all ages. Freddie lived a pretty wild and crazy lifestyle. They didn’t put a lot of that stuff in the film but they did put some of his crazy life in the film, though.

I thought the film was well done. It was well-directed, well-acted and well-written too. You should definitely go check it out. I’ll definitely get the BluRay.

Sly Stallone posts photo of Rambo’s bloody arm, giving us a hint that not only violence will be back, blood will be back too…

Today on Sly’s instagram he just posted another Rambo pic while on set of the new film. As you can see he just posted a pic of Rambo’s bloody arm… giving us a hint that the dark, violent and angry Rambo will indeed be back for the next one.

Will Rambo 5 be similar to Rambo II, III and IV? No, I’ve read somewhere that Sly wants Rambo “Last Blood” to be completely different than the previous 4. I read that Sly wanted “Last Blood” to be his own version of “No Country For Old Men”. Kind of like a violent Western movie is what Sly is going for so it looks like they’re definitely going for a more Western feeling. As you can see in the pic, I’m sure there will still be plenty of violence and action scenes.

I remember a time where Sly Stallone came pretty close to retiring the Rambo character for good. Rambo 5 have been in development for a pretty long time. It’s been in the works on and off since Rambo 4 in 2008. Why did Sly almost retire the character? Read this interesting article.

https://screenrant.com/rambo-5-stallone-retired/

I wonder what made Sly change his mind about retiring the Rambo character and coming back after all? The answer to that question is not yet known but maybe Sly just feels that the fans deserve one more Rambo film ’cause a lot of fans have been begging him for one more. Fans just believe Rambo shouldn’t end with Rambo 4. The Rambo series deserves a better closure then what we saw in Rambo 4.

Sly had other plot ideas for Rambo 5 but Lionsgate/Millennium Films wanted to do a Rambo film about human trafficking so they’re sticking with that plot. Why do they want to do a movie about human trafficking? Probably to help bring awareness to human trafficking. Human trafficking is real and it’s a problem in America. That’s the goal with the movie to bring more awareness to human trafficking. That’s what the studio wants and Sly is going for it.

I’m sure they’ll give us a great Rambo movie and I’m sure they won’t disappoint the fans at all. I wonder how it will all end? Will they make Rambo die in this one? I’m still thinking yes, they probably will kill him off somehow. In “Rambo: First Blood”, they actually tried to kill Rambo off but the studio wasn’t haven’t it so they forced Sly to re-write the ending so Rambo can live for upcoming sequels. I can see them killing Rambo off this time in order to end the Rambo series for good. Would make sense. It’s not a spoiler or anything, just a prediction.

Sly Stallone shows off new Rambo knife for “Rambo: Last Blood”… giving us a hint that violence will be back…

Rambo may have chopped his long hair off for “Rambo: Last Blood” but looks like we’re still going to get the same violent Rambo like we’ve always had. Rambo is gonna be no different. He’s still gonna have PTSD and all that stuff. Rambo still not over his past so I’m feeling that he’s gonna get more violent than ever. The new knife is a hint.

Fans are worried that this movie could be a PG-13 but I don’t think so. It’s gonna be a hard R rating, I’m sure. I’m already feeling this could be a more violent Rambo than the previous 4. Not too worry fans, Sly will NOT disappoint us. He’ll know what the fans would want out of a Rambo film.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the teaser trailer is gonna be like and I’m sure we’ll get that real soon. Maybe we’ll get the teaser trailer at the end of this year, who knows. Will “Rambo: Last Blood” be the best Rambo film of them all? I’m sure they’ll give us a great Rambo film but nothing will top the first one. The first one will always be a classic.
