Just watched “Irreplaceable You” on Netflix last night and I surprisingly liked it a lot! Very good movie!

Last night on Netflix, I watched the original Netflix movie titled, “Irreplaceable You”. It’s a drama about this interracial couple who started off as best friends since they were little and they became lovers as they got older. They’re a married couple and the girl gets diagnosed with cancer.

I’m not into these kind of movies that much… ya know drama movies and tear jerkers. Sometimes I need to watch this kind of stuff ’cause you need a break from watching violent movies all the time, ya know?

“Irreplaceable You” was a different film for sure and it sure did inspire me. It’s a film about love and death pretty much. The movie was very well acted by the cast and the script was well-written, I thought. Christopher Walken is the only big name star in this film, but the rest of the cast are complete unknowns.

I liked this movie a lot more than “The Fault In Our Stars”. “Irreplaceable You” was a very good film and I’ll probably watch it again sometime. Maybe this weekend.

If you’re looking for a movie to watch on Netflix then you should check this one out. I was surprised how good this movie turned out to be. It’s definitely one of Netflix’s best original films.

Your first look at James Hetfield and Zac Efron on set of the new Ted Bundy movie! This is cool!

First photo from the new Ted Bundy movie with James Hetfield and Zac Efron on set. Looks like the interrogation room scene at the police station.

Below is a pic of the real Bob Hayward. If you compare Hetfield’s and the real Hayward together, you can see that the look is pretty much dead-on. Now I can see why Berlinger wanted Hetfield for the role simply because Hetfield and Hayward look very similar.

BobHayward

What do you think? Do you think James Hetfield has the good acting chops? I think he will do a great job! Hopefully Berlinger will give us a video clip of James playing in the movie soon, I think he will.

What made James want to get into acting? Well, I’m sure Lars may have talked him into it somehow ’cause Lars Ulrich is a big movie buff. I’m sure James will do an interview with the press and I’m sure he’ll explain why he got into acting.

Will James get into acting full time or part time? I think it would be part time ’cause of Metallica commitments. We’ll wait to hear from the man himself.

James Hetfield of Metallica will make his film acting debut in Ted Bundy biopic film titled, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile”… interesting…

Well this is interesting. Looks like James Hetfield is gonna try something new in his life by trying to do some acting in Hollywood. I never heard about this until Metallica’s tweet came up announcing that James already filmed some scenes for the upcoming Ted Bundy biopic film titled, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” which will star Zac Efron as Ted. It looks like James will be getting more of a cameo in the film ’cause he just landed a huge role. James will be playing Ted Bundy’s arresting officer, Robert Hayward. That means Hetfield will be co-starring the movie along with Efron.

Metallica’s James Hetfield Boards Voltage’s ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile’

What does this mean for Metallica??? Is Metallica gonna quit after their tour? No. James is still committed to Metallica and always will be. James probably agreed to do this movie ’cause the director Joe Berlinger also directed the Metallica documentary, “Some Kind of Monster”. Maybe James just wants to do something different in his life, ya know?

I’m looking forward to this and Tarantino’s film on Charles Manson. I know it seems a little weird but I find serial killer stories interesting. I think a lot of people do as well which is why serial killer stories are becoming popular in the entertainment world.

Joaquin Phoenix will play the Joker in the Joker’s first standalone live-action film…

This is interesting. Joaquin Phoenix looks like he will be playing the Joker in the first ever Joker live-action movie which will be co-written and directed by Todd Phillips. Joaquin is not confirmed for the role yet but he is the top choice to play the Joker and he has agreed to the role. It will probably happen.

The idea for the movie that it will take place in the 80’s and it will be more of a gritty crime-drama than a typical superhero film.

http://variety.com/2018/film/news/joaquin-phoenix-the-joker-origin-movie-todd-phillips-1202692188/

I’m sure many are thinking Joaquin Phoenix is a terrible choice but honestly, I think he’s going to do a great job and knock it out of the park. Joaquin is a terrific actor… he’s one of my favorites actually. He has done so many phenomenal movies. Joaquin can play anything that throws at him.

I think Joaquin will play the Joker quite well… however, the question you all have to ask is… will Joaquin be able to do the Joker laugh? Joaquin will have to do that laugh for that movie and I think Joaquin will learn how and practice to get it right. I think Joaquin will do the Joker laugh quite well.

It would be cool if Mark Hamill would play a live-action Joker but it will never happen ’cause Hamill is 66 years old now. He’s too old to play the Joker in a live-action set. I may not like Hamill being anti-Trump but I still think he does a good job voicing the Joker, though, no doubt.

I’m glad Joker is finally getting his own movie too and hopefully Harley Quinn will be in it and she probably will be. Write Harley Quinn in the movie and I’m sure even more people would see it ’cause Harley Quinn is a very popular character.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Joaquin is going to look like in Joker make-up and in full costume. This is gonna be a Joker standalone film and origin story. I don’t think Batman will be in it at all, although, it’s possible that Batman will get mentioned in it.

Now that HBO Game of Thrones will be ending at Season 8, the series creators will be moving on to Star Wars next…

Well this is interesting. The creators of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” David Benioff and DB Weiss brought us the hit TV series, now we know what they’ll be up to next since they are ending the series at Season 8 next year. Looks like the two GOT creators will be moving on to write a new Star Wars series ’cause Lucasfilm hired them to do just that.

http://www.starwars.com/news/game-of-thrones-creators-david-benioff-and-d-b-weiss-to-write-and-produce-a-new-series-of-star-wars-films

Game of Thrones writers doing Star Wars… does that now mean the new series will be R rated? Also full of sex, incest scenes and killing off characters that people like? I wouldn’t be surprised…

… all joking aside, I think this is interesting, though. You can expect “Game of Thrones” stars to star in their Star Wars films. I would like to see Emilia Clarke in a Star Wars film ’cause that would be cool and Peter Dinklage would be cool too.

Now you can see why the GOT’s cast and crew wants to be done with GOT’s so they can move on to other projects and this is exactly it. These two guys Benioff and Weiss spent half of their lives working on GOT and looks like they’ll spent the next decade or so working on Star Wars.

So we got the original series still going on, SW: Rogue One, SOLO: A Star Wars movie coming this year, the new Rian Johnson SW’s trilogy been announced and now this. I know this may seem weird, but George Lucas gave Disney the permission to make as many Star Wars films as they wanted so that’s exactly what they’re doing. Some are already fed up with all this, but Star Wars is a huge universe so you can create as much stories as possible. If all the Star Wars books can do this then why can’t the movies?

I think Disney is a doing a good job with Star Wars ’cause I’m liking everything they’re doing. “Rogue One” was good and Ron Howard’s “Solo” movie looks awesome. I used to like Star Trek more than Star Wars but I’m not liking the new Star Trek movies at all. I guess, I like Star Wars a lot more than Star Trek now.

It should have been no surprise to you that Disney will be interested in the Game of Thrones creators ’cause why? Watch the “Game of Thrones” show yourself. GOT’s is like Star Wars almost. Think about it, right?

Love the new “Dundee” movie trailer… creative marketing genius too!!!

I’m not watching the Superbowl at all tonight but I did happen to catch the new “Dundee” movie trailer. It’s interesting ’cause after this Superbowl ad, people thought they were tricked into thinking this isn’t a real Dundee movie but an Australian tourism ad. When you go to the Dundee movie site, it takes you to an Australian tourism site instead.

https://www.australia.com/en-us/campaigns/superbowl-dundee-movie-why-visit-australia.html

So what’s going on here? Is this a real Dundee movie or not? Yes, it absolutely is. It’s funny that so many people got tricked into thinking this isn’t a real Dundee movie when IT IS! This is the 4th installment of the series and the funny part about all this, that these trailers have sparked people wanting the return of Crocodile Dundee when this is exactly it!

Paul Hogan reprises his role as Michael J. “Crocodile” Dundee or better known as Mick ’cause as you can see Mick Dundee makes a cameo appearance in this trailer. This trailer is Dundee 4. It’s just a movie about tourism.

That’s what the first two Dundee movies were about… tourism in Australia pretty much. In the first Dundee movie, Sue goes to Australia to find Mick so she can write this story on him and then she decides to bring him to NYC. I fuckin’ love the first Dundee movie. The first one will always be a classic. The 2nd one was pretty good but I didn’t like the third one, though.

Once again, THIS IS the new Dundee film with Paul Hogan coming back… this is just very smart marketing. Trying to get a buzz going about this film and attract more attention. How much will Paul Hogan be in this new film? Will he have just a cameo or will he be in through the whole film? We’ll have to wait and see.

Of course Paul Hogan is coming back to the new Dundee film. I could have sworn a long while back Paul was talking about bringing back another Dundee film and this is it. Paul is the executive producer of the new Dundee movie.

The new Dundee movie is looking good so far and I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Sylvester Stallone confirms he’s reprising his role as Barney Ross in “Expendables 4”, shooting down speculation of him not coming back…

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bd5-TtbjjOP/

Due to Sly’s fallen out with Nu/Image Millennium in the past, there was a lot of speculation and rumors of him not coming back. Now that him and the studios are on good terms, Sly himself confirmed the news that he is indeed coming back as Barney Ross. It’s good ’cause I can’t see The Expendables movies go on without him. Glad a 4th one is happening with Sly in it.

Now that EX4 has been officially greenlighted and Sly is going to be coming back, it’ll be interesting to see who they’ll add in the cast. Like I said before, I hope they get Kurt Russell this time. Clint Eastwood would be cool too if Sly’s lucky enough to get him.

So Rocky coming back in “Creed 2”. Barney Ross coming back in “EX4” and there’s possibly a “Rambo 5” coming too. Sly keeping himself busy. It’s a part of why I admire him. Sly loves making movies. It’s a passion of his and he shows it.

Looks like “Expendables 4” is happening after all and Sly is probably coming back for one more… the man himself confirms the news on Instagram…

Earlier in 2017, it was reported that Stallone has walked away from reprising his role as Barney Ross in “Expendables 4” due to creative differences and all that stuff. Well, it looks like Sly is definitely back on. It looks like Sly and Nu Image/Millennium are on good terms now.

The whole point of the Expendables movies are to get a bunch of big name action stars altogether in one movie. The films were meant to bring back old-school action style. Today’s action movies aren’t what they are anymore and Sly wants to bring back action movies how they used to be in the 80’s and early 90’s.

With each Expendables movie, the cast seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I’m sure Sly and Nu Image/Millennium will make the cast for “Expendables 4” even bigger. For EX4, I’m sure the main cast will return: Sly Stallone, Arnold, Dolph, Terry, Randy and Jet Li but I’m sure Sly will add a lot more people to the casting.

The last EX movie had Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, Wesley Snipes, Ronda Rousey and others but who are they gonna get for EX4?

Hopefully Sly can actually get Kurt Russell this time ’cause that would be cool. Sly has been trying to get Kurt Russell for every EX movie but Kurt kept turning them down. Now that Kurt is back into acting movies again, maybe it’s a possibility that Sly would get Kurt this time.

Also, I think Sly should add to the cast: Hulk Hogan, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa, Vin Diesel, The Rock, Chris Hemsworth, Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage, Liam Neeson, Jackie Chan, etc. Remember, that’s the whole point of these movies… adding a bunch of big name stars as much as possible in one film.

It’ll be interesting to see who Sly is planning to get for EX4. Can’t wait.

The Expendables series gets all kinds of mixed reviews, but I love these movies. I love all three of them but my favorite out of the three is the second one ’cause of JCVD playing the villain.

My question is will Bruce Willis return to this one? I read somewhere that Sly and Bruce had a little feud over these movies which is why Bruce didn’t do the 3rd one. I heard that Sly and Bruce are all cool now so it’s a definite possibility Bruce could be coming back. We’ll have to wait and find out!

The Brock’s Top 10 Films of 2017…

Admittedly I didn’t do Top Lists of Best Films for 2016 last year… guess I forgot and never cared. Well, I’ll do it this year but this time I’ll go back down to Top 10 instead of 15 ’cause 15 is a lot of work for me. I’ll do just 10 choices from now on.

Anyways, here are my top 10 choices for Best Films of 2017… enjoy…

10. Blade Runner 2049 – I was very excited for this movie when this film was first announced by Ridley Scott. The film is finally here. A very good film. It’s almost 3 hrs. long but it’s still a very good sci-fi movie. Very good acting. Very good story. This film definitely deserves to be in the Top 10. Ryan Gosling and Ford was a very entertaining team up. There’s probably gonna be a third Blade Runner too.

9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – Way better than the first and I still need to add this movie to my Blu-Ray collection. I thought Dave Bautista’s character stole the show, though. Also gotta love Sylvester Stallone’s appearance in this film even though it was short. I’m a huge Guardians fan. Best in the Marvel universe.

8. The Dark Tower – Hollywood has been trying to make the Dark Tower books into movies for many years and its finally here. Went and saw the film myself and loved it! It turned out that this film is not based on any of the books at all and ended up being a continuation of the books, but still a very good movie. Idris Elba and Matt McConaughey worked very well together. I’m a huge fan of the Dark Tower books.

7. War For the Planet of the Apes – Probably the best film of the new POTA series and the most powerful film of them all, in my opinion. Story can be very sad in this film, but it was a perfect film all around. I love all the POTA films. Huge fan of this franchise. I love the classic POTA films, loved the Tim Burton remake and I love the new trilogy. Woody Harrelson played a really good bad guy in this film and Andy Serkis kills it with his voice acting like always.

6. The Mummy – I was interested in the new Mummy film with Tom Cruise ever since I saw the trailer. I never saw this film in theater but I bought the BluRay when it came out. Turned out to be a very good movie and I liked it a lot. Definitely way better than the Brendan Fraser “Mummy” trilogy which I never liked or cared for. The reboot with Tom Cruise is way better. Writing was good and the film is just entertaining as hell, all the way through. Great film, check it out.

5. Get Out – I was very surprised of this movie when I first saw it. I thought this film was phenomenal. It’s a great psychological horror film and that’s what it is, in my opinion. It’s about this black man who has an interracial-relationship with a white woman and he goes with her to meet her family. Turns out her family are not what he thought they were. I loved this movie and want my own copy on BluRay. My only negative of this film was all the Barack Obama worship in it… that shit didn’t need to be in there but other than that, a great film. It was creepy and kind of scary. I can definitely see Daniel Kaluuya winning an Oscar for that role ’cause that was some good acting.

4. Stephen King’s IT – This one had to be pretty high on the list. Probably the best Stephen King adapted horror film I’ve ever seen. Such a perfect and beautiful film throughout. Writing was good and acting was good. Plus, the BluRay comes out this coming Tuesday and you can betcha I’m gonna go pick it up.

3. Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi – I don’t give a shit what the haters think. I thought this film was amazing. Probably the best of the new trilogy so far. I’m thinking of seeing it again next week.

2. Logan – Also one of the best Marvel superhero movies I’ve ever seen. I also need to add this one to my BluRay collection soon. Hugh Jackman’s best performance too. An R rated superhero film with lots of blood and gore, swearing, etc. Love it. This film was different and just a great film all around. This film had to be pretty high on the list.

  1. Dunkirk – I finally gotten around to seeing Christopher Nolan’s latest directed movie, “Dunkirk” and I was blown away by this film. I’m a huge fan of war films and this film is one of the best new war films I’ve seen in a long time. This film got mixed reviews and I can’t understand why. It’s powerful. It can also get pretty scary and sad in some parts. Fionn Whitehead the film’s leading star is a great actor and I think he may get some awards as well. Christopher Nolan always makes great films as I’ve seen every film he has done and this is his best one yet!

  • Creed 2 – I loved the first Creed movie so I’ll be seeing the second one. This sequel would be about Ivan Drago coming back and Dolph is gonna reprise that role it looks like. Should be an interesting film.
  • The Girl In The Spider’s Web – It’s the new Lisbeth Salander movie based on those Millennium novels. I’m already interested even if I haven’t seen a trailer yet.

There ya go. Enjoy the list!
