Report: Natalie Portman makes directorial debut in Venice film festival…

Actress Natalie Portman is eyeing a career on the director’s chair as she just directed her first film titled “Eve”, a short film she has shown at a Venice film festival.

Natalie Portman is the star of the three Star Wars prequels and the “V For Vendetta” movie. She always wanted to direct her own films her whole life and she will show her second short film at the Toronto film festival later in the week.

I’m sure she will direct a full blockbuster film soon, she’s just starting out in directing so she will probably make short films for a while.

I’m sure she learned a lot from George Lucas and he is probably the one that inspired her to get into directing.

Report: Fox vs. Warner Bros. feud heats up over “Watchmen” movie…Fox wants to bring battle to Federal court…

Here we go. Fox is not giving up and Fox still vows to prove that they own the rights to the “Watchmen” film that Warner Bros. already made before them. Fox is not giving up until “Watchmen” is canned from getting released.

Just last Friday, lawyers for Twentieth Century Fox submitted reports to move this battle to Federal court. Warner Bros. argued that Fox don’t have the right to stop the film from getting released. Paramount and Legendary Pictures who are Warner’s partners, spent more than $100 million to get the film made, a high budget indeed, and the film was directed by Zack Snyder, the same man who made the iconic Greek mythology film “300”.

Here is a big FUCK YOU to FOX studios. Keep your head up high Warners, don’t let FOX bring you guys down, FOX, those greedy bastards. Heh, no wonder Twentieth Century Fox films is acting like this because that company is owned by News Corp which means Rupert Murdoch owns Twentieth Century Fox as well.

Warner Bros. will win and get the film released! I’m sure of it!

Report: Dolph Lundgren’s “Command Performance” teaser trailer and website up now!!!!

Several months back, I reported that action hero Dolph Lundgren is about to make a huge return to hollywood mainstream with an action film titled “Command Performance”, the film is written and directed by Dolph Lundgren himself, and he also plays the leading role. Dolph plays a drummer in a rock n’ roll band in the film and when the band plays a concert in Moscow, the concert gets ruined by mercenary leader Oleg Kazov (the main villain of the film, Dolph is the hero) kidnapping people for ransom, Dolph’s character is trying to save a female popstar’s life from armed mercenaries.

No release date of the film have yet to be announced but it should be coming out in 2009. The film will be huge I think and will get a nationwide release, this is a long time coming for Dolph! The film is being made by Nu Image/Millenium. Somehow I get this feeling that Sylvester Stallone helped Dolph release this film through that company.

See the official website of the film here:

See the teaser trailer in better quality in the video below. Dolph is at the drumset by the way.

Report: Brett Ratner wants to make a film based on Guitar Hero video games…

The X-Men and Rush Hour director Brett Ratner spoke with MTV News announcing that he is dying to make a film adapted from the Guitar Hero video games. He says he is a huge fan of the Guitar Hero games and he loves playing the games himself.

He already has a plot idea for the film and he says the film will be about a kid who lives in a small town, he dreams of being a real life rock star, his dream comes true by winning a Guitar Hero game competition.

Brett Ratner not only wants to direct “Guitar Hero” film, he also maybe be on board to direct another popular video game into a movie which is the “God Of War” video game to be made into a film.

More on it here:

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/08/28/guitar-hero-movie/

Activision should not let Hollywood do a movie on Guitar Hero. The videogames market the Guitar Hero franchise on their own fine, they don’t need Hollywood movies.

And on top of that, a Guitar Hero movie would suck anyways, no matter who is directing it.

Report: Lionsgate confirmed “Rambo V” will be in the works, and will be written/directed by Stallone…

While this article at the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Alli Shearmur has left Paramount and she has landed a job to take Lionsgate in the lead as the companies president and boss…the article also says that Lionsgate has Rambo V confirmed with Sylvester Stallone on board to write, direct and star in again.

Quote from the article:

“On the development horizon are “Warrior,” which Gavin O’Connor co-wrote and will direct; “Conan,” a fast-tracked project with multiple scripts in the works; “Severance Package,” with Brett Simon writing and directing; “Rambo V,” to be written and directed by Sylvester Stallone; “Korean Wedding” from writer Jason Filardi; and “Kane & Lynch,” a video game adaptation that will star Bruce Willis.”

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Lionsgate has been confirming Rambo V for a long while now, but Sly Stallone himself has been pretty quiet about it lately. If Lionsgate keeps confirming it, then I guess it’s true.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Sly starts working on Rambo V next because he needs to before he gets too old. I’m glad he’s doing another Rambo.

Rambo IV did leave open for another movie as I would like some answers to the strange ending at the end of Rambo IV.

I hope Sly writes a good plot for Rambo V, he did an amazing job with Rambo IV, I’m sure he won’t dissapoint in V also. Maybe this is why Sly is taking another break from movies ’cause he’s writing a script for the next Rambo, who knows.

Report: John Woo takes a shot in making a sports movie based on Olympics diving…

Legendary film director John Woo wants to take a break on making action and martial arts flicks by making a strictly sports film based on the Beijing Olympics in the pool diving games. The director held a charity dinner at the Beijing Olympics and he announced that he wants to make a movie with gold medalist divers Liu Xiang and Guo Jingjing.

While John Woo is wanting to make a sports film it may not happen this soon because he is still working on three other films such as the sequel to “Red Cliff”, “1949”, and a new American film called “Caliber” that stars Johnny Depp.

It is not known if John Woo will be on board to direct the Olympic sports film. For now, the man is just producing it.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i80fd5f88550d7e2d95633e24e73810a2

He would make a great sports film, glad he’s doing something different.

Report: Who knew that David Duchovny is such a ladies man…X-files star checks himself into rehab for sex addiction!!!!

The X-Files leading star David Duchovny just checked himself into rehab, not for drugs but to kick his habit against sex. He is admitting to the public that he is addicted to women and sex, the actor is wanting to cut back.

David’s publicist released a statement by David himself saying he wants the public to respect his privacy during this difficult time but David refuses to give details of his private sex life. David is married to actress Tea Leoni and have been married together since 1997. David’s latest film is the X-Files sequel “I Want to Believe” which he reprises his iconic role of Fox Mulder, the film was released earlier this summer.

The Associated Press reports:

Hmmmmmmm…..

This makes me wonder if David banged Gillian Anderson in real life before he married Tea.

He probably did and wouldn’t surprise me if it’s true.

Report: Even directors give their own movies bad reviews, director of “Babylon A.D.” trashes his own film…

The new film “Babylon A.D.” that stars Vin Diesel and was directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, it appears that he isn’t happy with his new film that the director just made. Mathieu has a lot of harsh and nasty things to say about his film. His original vision of the film was that he wanted the film to be R rated violent but of course the typical FOX wanted the film to be PG-13 and Matthieu couldn’t win the ratings battle over FOX. He also said he hated the script, the film had bad producers, bad partners and calls it a terrible experience. The director says he loves the book though which the film was adapted from.

The film hits theaters this Friday.

To read more on his thoughts on Babylon A.D., read the rest here:

Hmmmm, it is actually nice to finally see a director who is not always proud of his work, he is being honest about it and that’s good. Most directors think all of their films they make are so “great”, but just like a musician or a rock band have to be their own worst critic when they listen to their own music, it’s the same with film makers when they look back at their films too.
