Marvin the Martian the popular Warner Bros. Looney Tunes character is making his way to the big screen. This is the only character from the Looney Tunes cartoons getting his own film although I have a feeling Bugs Bunny will appear to give excitement for the kids. The project will blend live action and CGI.
Marvin was created by cartoonist Chuck Jones and also made an appearrance in Michael Jordan’s film “Spacejam” that also starred Looney Tune characters which Jordan plays basketball against.
The story focuses on Marvin The Martian film will be a Christmas film, he comes to Earth to try and destroy Christmas but his plans foils after being trapped in a gift box (my guess Bugs Bunny put him in there). No casting, no director and no writers has been signed for this project yet.
While I’m glad Marvin is getting his own movie, couldn’t they come up with a better story? It’s seems like a remake of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.

It looks like Quentin Tarantino’s WWII project “Inglorious Bastards” will land at Universal Studios. The studio has inked a deal with the Weinstein Co. to finally bring Tarantino’s new flick to the big screen.
Tarantino is also getting close to signing Brad Pitt to the leading role as he just met up with Brad to ask him in person.
Filming is scheduled to begin this fall in Germany and France. Brad Pitt is the first cast member to be considered to this flick so far. Tarantino continues to shoot down rumours of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, and Willis being in the flick too.
It’s great that he’s finally getting this project off the ground, looking forward to it. Could this film possibly dominate box office as the Dark Knight did? It wouldn’t surprise me.
Do you think Sylvester Stallone’s latest flick “Rambo” was too short and you want the film to be even longer? Well you’re in for a surprise! The Digital Bits today confirmed that Sly and DVD producer Cliff Stephenson is in the works of a longer version of 2008’s “Rambo”.
Quote from article:
From our panel at Comic-Con, DVD producer Cliff Stephenson told the audience that he’ll be working on an extended cut of Sylvester Stallone’s “Rambo” for DVD and Blu-ray release sometime in 2009.
We’re not the only ones surprised of the huge success of “The Dark Knight”, even Christopher Nolan himself is surprised and didn’t even think the film would be this much of a hit.
Heath Ledger being gone is not the reason for “The Dark Knight’s” success, the reason for the Dark Knight’s success is because it’s the best Batman film ever made, a film with perfection.
While I’m sure everyone went to see it just to see Heath as the Joker, I’m sure people saw it because Batman is such a popular comic superhero character. There’s millions of Batman fans out there.
With the likes of “Die Hard 4”, “Terminator: Salvation”, and “Beverly Hills Cop 4” all being rated PG-13, the producer of the new Robocop film promises the film will be rated R. That means the film will still have it’s violent content and lots of profanity. While the first two Robocop films were rated R, the third one in the trilogy was PG-13.
Remember, this new Robocop film is not another sequel, it’s a “reboot” which means starting over again.
Very cool, so glad they are considering an R rating, to be an adult oriented Robocop film instead of a family friendly one. That’s the way Robocop should be.

MTV News was at Comic Con San Diego over the weekend and they interviewed Sam Raimi while he was there to promote “Drag Me To Hell”. Of course, MTV couldn’t resist about asking him if he’ll do another Evil Dead movie, Sam Raimi simply replied back that he loved to do another one!
As long as Sam Raimi keeps it old school Evil Dead and as long as he reunites with Rob Tapert and Bruce as Ash, I’ll definitely go see it. I’m sure Sam, Rob, and Bruce will be down for it.
“Evil Dead” deserves to close the series, “Army of Darkness” ended with Ash in S-mart so I imagine they will pick up from there in Evil Dead 4, it would make sense.

Oliver Stone’s film “W.” which is a biopic film on our soon to be former president George W. Bush has been leaked online. The film stars Josh Brolin as George W. and James Cromwell plays George Bush Sr.
My thoughts on the film? I think it actually looks pretty promising. It looks real good and I might actually go see it in theater after all. The video does not allow embedding so I will just post the link.
Enjoy while it’s on before Oliver forces youtube to take it down.
P.S. My mistake, Josh Brolin plays George W. Bush throughout the entire film, they just use makeup effects on Josh when he reaches the middle aged, James Cromwell plays George W’s father who also our President at one time. Edited for corrections.
