In other “24” news… the big screen movie may still be planned despite return for the show…

Kiefer Sutherland wants to clear the confusion that the new “24” show, “Live Another Day” will have nothing to do with their big screen movie that they have been planning for many years. Since the announcement of this show, fans have wondered if they’re still planning their big screen movie and I wondered that myself. Now we know! Kiefer says that they still have the script for the big screen movie and he also says the story is very different from “Live Another Day”. So don’t rule out the big screen movie just yet! It’s still a possibility. “Live Another Day” could open doors for a big screen film and a possible reboot.

Read this interesting article on where the guys give brief hints on the plot for “Live Another Day” as well.

Does Kiefer ever get tired of playing Jack Bauer? Apparently not. He seems to have no problem spending most of his life playing the same character ’cause he maybe a big fan of Jack Bauer just as the rest of us.

And like I’ve been saying, this “Live Another Day” show is just a test to see if it does well enough for them to do the big screen movie. If this show does well in the ratings then they’ll go ahead with the big screen film or reboot. I prefer the big screen film over the reboot, though.

In response to some stupid Marilyn Monroe meme…

1501693_10152172821724113_566469164_n

This facebook  meme attacking Marilyn Monroe is totally misinformed just like most facebook memes are bullshit and misinformed. It’s true that she was a drug addict/alcoholic and it’s true that she have had affairs with married men and stuff but all of her quotes that you see getting posted by women in facebook… all those Marilyn quotes aren’t really made up. Some of them maybe made up but most Marilyn quotes were taken from a lot of her interviews that she did in the past.

Love Marilyn or hate her, she still has adoring fans to this day. Not just women… men like her too. Marilyn may have had a difficult life but that doesn’t give you the right to judge and hate her. I don’t get all the Marilyn hate. People shouldn’t be judgmental of Marilyn when Elvis Presley was no different, ya know? Elvis was an addict on pills & alcohol too, and he too had affairs with married women numerous times. Still, people act like Elvis is king and they have no problem with his personal troubles.

Women still look after Marilyn ’cause her life inspires them in a way. Maybe Marilyn’s life reminds them of their own. They look after Marilyn ’cause she wants people to be happy and live a positive life. She inspires women to be strong. The same with Janis Joplin. Janis was nothing but a junkie and people respected her anyway.

I don’t get all the Marilyn hate. I’m a huge Marilyn fan and don’t feel ashamed for it either. Her life and career was inspiring to people especially her films which were more important.

She may have died years ago, yes but people just wanna help keep her legacy alive and that’s what this is all about. Anybody who treats Marilyn in  a negative direction, I’ll always defend her no matter what so don’t even try.

The Best/Worst Films of 2013…

Finally, here is the “Best/Worst Films of 2013”. These films added here are my opinions alone so if you’re mad that if your favorite didn’t make the Best of list or if your favorite made the Worst of, I don’t care.

Enjoy the list all!

The Best Films of 2013

15. This Is The End
(This film was surprisingly good so I feel that it’s worthy for this list. This movie is about a group of actors who play themselves: Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchal, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and others who all party together with a large group of other celebs and they learn that an apocalypse is coming so they try their best to survive. The writing was surprisingly well-written. You will get NON STOP laughs all the way through. The film was surprisingly enjoyable as I’m not a big fan of Seth Rogen too much but this film makes me respect him more. Definitely check this one out if you haven’t yet!)
ThisIsTheEnd

14. V/H/S 2
(This is an independent franchise that is not shown in too many theaters. I think this franchise is very good as I think these films deserve more recognition. The first one was pretty good but I thought the second film was even better. In “VHS 2” the stories are more intense, scarier and even more gruesome than the first. I can see why these films can’t be shown nationwide ’cause they are that graphic. This film is a MUST SEE for any horror fan. If you like movies with short horror story collections in them, you would like this one.)

13. The Purge
(The story of this movie was so original and creative that I feel that this film is worthy of the list. Critics and movie fans gave this movie mixed reviews. It’s another love or hate thing but I really loved it and didn’t see anything wrong with the film. The film was pretty intense and unpredictable. Ethan Hawke kills it with his acting as usual. This was a very good movie and I’m already looking forward to seeing where the sequel will take us.)

12. Oblivion
(Tom Cruise may not be everyone’s favorite actor but love him or hate him, the man really knows how to choose his films! “Oblivion” was surprisingly a very good sci-fi movie. The trailers tried to make it look like a popcorn action film but when you watch the actual movie, you’ll find that it’s something different. This movie is true science fiction that has an actual plot. Yes, the movie has tons of CGI and special effects but it’s a smart sci-fi film that’s very enjoyable and moving. This is one of Tom’s better performances too. Morgan Freeman rules in this movie too.)
Oblivion

11. Evil Dead
(As I repeatedly said before, I didn’t think they could pull off an Evil Dead remake without Bruce Campbell. This is one of the better horror remakes in a long while. Sam Raimi and the guys did a great job with this one. An Evil Dead movie can not be done well without the original team.)
EvilDead2013_RedBand1_1

10. Black Fish
(I feel that this important documentary is worthy of this list. If you wanna know the secrets behind Sea World, definitely see this. It’s on Netflix streaming. When you watch this film, you would see exactly why Sea World doesn’t want you to see this and you would never visit their theme parks ever again.)
Still from Blackfish, a documentary about killer whales in captivity

9. Grudge Match
(There were two Stallone movies that came out in 2013 so I ended up picking this one to be on this list over “Escape Plan”. “Grudge Match” was one of Stallone’s best new film in years. Sly really showed his acting chops in this one. Deniro kills it as usual. Very enjoyable movie, I had to include this one.)

8. The Ice Man
(One of Michael Shannon’s best performances. This film is about the real life mobster, Richard Kuklinski in which Shannon plays. The entire film overall is just great. You’ll watch this movie at the edge of your seat all the way through.)
The Iceman Movie starring Michael Shannon

7. The Place Beyond The Pines
(A movie taken place in Schenectady, N.Y and starring Ryan Gosling. This is one of his best roles, yet. This movie is pretty intense too. This is one of those films I could watch over and over. I’d like to get the BluRay soon.)

6. Hunger Games: Catching Fire
(I feel the latest Hunger Games movie deserves to be pretty high in the list. These film series are getting better each film. Screw the Twilight series. Hunger Games is way better. These films have better writing and more personality. I love Jennifer Lawrence even more now.)
CatchingFire

5. World War Z
(I never read the book but I will sometime. I know that zombies are getting big in film/TV but “World War Z” is a different zombie film. If you’re expecting “World War Z” to be like “The Walking Dead”, then you’re probably not gonna like this film. I thought “World War Z” with Brad Pitt was amazingly well-done and Brad Pitt was enjoyable.)

4. 42
(I’m not really into baseball too much and I don’t even watch baseball movies too much either. In fact, I never had a lot of interest in baseball and this movie makes me want to get into the sport more. The story of Jackie Robinson was interesting to me. This was a very inspiring and moving film. Loved it!)

3. Man of Steel
(I would think that you thought I was gonna put “Man of Steel” as my no. 1 choice but nope. I do love “Man of Steel” dearly and thought the film was amazing. Most people were skeptical of Zack Snyder doing a Superman movie but I always had faith in him and knew he would do a great job. He did exactly that. He made an amazing Superman film. I don’t understand all the mixed reviews. I thought the film was brilliant and already looking forward to “Batman/Superman”, that film is gonna kick ass as well! Great job Zack and Mr. Nolan!)

2. American Hustle
(Everything about this film is perfect. Zero complaints. Like I said before, you’ll be addicted to this film as soon as it starts. The cast did a great job with the acting. The writing was great. You all gotta see this flick before it stops playing.)

1. Gravity
(Are you surprised that I picked “Gravity” as my no 1. choice this year? I thought this film was beautiful. I was totally blown away with this film when I saw it in theater. I wanna see it again and again. You can betcha that this will be the film that will sweep the Oscars this year. George and Sandra both did amazing in it. A lot of people knock Sandra’s acting over the years. I agree she picked some bad roles over the years but I think she redeemed herself with this one. This movie made me love Sandra even more now. She’s gonna get herself another Oscar for this role for sure. Loved “Gravity” too much!!!)
GRAVITY

The Worst Films of 2013

Star Trek Into Darkness
(If you’re a long time Star Trek fan like me, you would hate everything about this movie. This movie was garbage. I wish Paramount would ditch Bad Robot from Star Trek and start over again. I think “Deep Space 9” cast deserve their own movie more than anything.)

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug
(I finally saw the new Hobbit film today and sorry guys, I hated it. The films had nothing to do with the books and the CGI obsession with this film gave me a real headache. I love LOTR and the Hobbit but man Peter Jackson needs to be more faithful to the books ’cause he isn’t.)

Elysium
(The trailers tried to make “Elysium” look interesting but when you see the actual film itself, you would see that this film turns out to be garbage. This is the film that stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. Hated it!)

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
(I am a huge fan of Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi but this movie was just really bad. It’s a shame ’cause I love Steve Carell movies. Even the Jim Carey appearance couldn’t save it. Avoid this film at all costs please!)

A Good Day To Die Hard
(They really need to stop making the new Die Hard flicks. The first two Die Hard movies were great but after the 2nd one, everything just went downhill. The trailers tried their best to make the fifth Die Hard movie look good but it failed. Die Hard 5 was awful and I expect Die Hard 6 to be the same.)

Well, enjoy the list, guys! Apologies for the long delay!

Film Review: American Hustle…

Starring: Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence

Directed by: David O’ Russell

Today, I finally got around to seeing “American Hustle” in theater and here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: This film tells the story of a brilliant con-man named Irving Rosenfeld (Bale) and his girlfriend Sydney Prosser (Adams) is forced to work with a crazy FBI agent named, Richie Dimaso (Cooper). Dimaso pushes them into a world of dangerous powerbrokers and mafia. Carmine Polito (Renner) the passionate, volatile, political operator is caught between the con-artists and the Feds. Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world down.

Is this film a team up between “The Fighter” and “Silver Linings Playbook”? Seems like it is and that’s alright with me. I was very impressed with this film. As a matter of fact, I was actually blown away by it. For once, we don’t have a violent popcorn action flick and we have a serious drama. We have a movie here that is smart, well-written and well-acted by the cast.

Christian Bale kills it with his acting like usual and I thought this was one of his best roles other than his role in, “The Fighter”. Christian looked very strange being an overweight guy in this film but he was very believable and like-able. The rest of the cast did an amazing job too. I was never a fan of Jeremy Renner too much… couldn’t stand his acting in certain films but I thought he was real good in this one. Bradley Cooper killed it too as well as the ladies Amy and Jennifer. Speaking of Amy and Jennifer, they were pretty smoking hot in this movie. Both of them were. You will see hot cleavage from both of those ladies throughout the film as you see in the photo above and there is even a lesbian kiss with them too! There is also a surprising cameo appearance by Robert Deniro in the film.

The film was also well-written. You’ll be hooked to the story as soon as the movie starts and you won’t get bored one bit. It was entertaining as hell all the way through. While this movie is a strictly drama, it can be comical too ’cause there are some hilarious scenes and funny lines that will get you crackin’ up. The film was well-directed and there are some interesting hair styles and costumes throughout the movie as I believe this film is taking place during the 70’s. The soundtrack was awesome as well as I liked the song choices that were played for the film.

I thought the film was just perfect, and have no complaints about it at all whatsoever. Those who accuse the director of exploiting women by showing a lot of cleavage and side boob need to get over themselves. If there were no sexy women in this film, then the film wouldn’t have worked. Although, I wish there would be some nudity in it and the film would have been even better. The closest you’ll get to nudity in the film is that Jennifer wears a see-through, you can see her breasts and nipples just barely but STILL a cool scene, though.

The film was very enjoyable and I loved it. Definitely gonna get the BluRay when it comes out. It’s also definitely gonna score some Oscar nominations.

Two thumbs up for “American Hustle”.

I love this comment about the writers of AICN

“Ah, AICN, home of pimping every comic movie ever, then posting best of list full of films people who saw The Wolverine never heard of.”

I was just reading the comments of the AICN talkbackers and came across this one above. That comment was in response to the writers AICN best of 2013 lists they are posting. I agree with that comment posted in bold too. Just another one of those many reasons why “Ain’t It Cool News” is a garbage site.

What that comment means is that AICN goes crazy over every superhero film released whether it’s Marvel/DC. After the film comes out, the critics at AICN rave on about how great the film is, yet none of those films make their best of lists.

Isn’t that kind of crazy? The only reason AICN hype up superhero movies to death ’cause it helps promotes their site. It helps get the site more traffic. You can tell that AICN doesn’t give a shit about superhero films even though it appears that they love ’em. Who ever wrote that comment in bold above is right on the money. Bravo! Fuck AICN. Seriously.

It really is looking like the Paul Walker death was no accident…

A coroner report on the death of Paul Walker was just released and on it says that the car that the two men, Paul Walker and Roger Rodas were going over 100 mph. They also found no drugs or alcohol in the systems of both men. It was also discovered that there were no mechanical problems with the Porsche they were driving in and there was no problems with the roadway either.

If it was an accident then there would have been mechanical problems in the vehicle and there was none. Next they need to figure out how the Porsche exploded which I’m sure law enforcement are investigating as well.

More on the story, here.

There’s no doubt in my mind that they were murdered. Somebody made it look like an accident and covered it up.

20 films to look forward to in 2014…

Since 2014 is just around the corner I thought I would write a list of films that I look forward to in 2014… here are the films I look forward to in that year:

  • I, Frankenstein: A film based upon the graphic novel that stars Aaron Eckhart.
  • The Monuments Men:  The George Clooney directed World War II movie that everyone’s talking about. Film should be a good one.

Film Review: Grudge Match

Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Robert Deniro, Kevin Hart, Jon Bernthal, Alan Arkin, Kim Basinger

Directed by: Peter Segal

Today, the day after Christmas, I’ve decided to go to the movies to go check out the latest Sly movie, “Grudge Match” and here is my review.

Plot/synopsis: Two aging former professional boxers Razor (Stallone) and The Kid (Deniro) go on living their lives 30 years after their final match together. The two of them still hate each other and they still feud together after all these years so the Kid finally challenges Razor a re-match. Razor kept refusing to fight because he is done and wants to move on; however, The Kid kept pressuring him to fight one final match with him. Since the Kid still hates Razor he was pretty desperate in settling things in the ring. Of course, Razor finally accepts The Kid’s challenge and comes out of retirement just to help himself get out of his financial troubles. Razor was broke and couldn’t afford to pay his rents for his home. As their fight approaches, their boxing promoter (Kevin Hart) tries to promote their fight — Razor and the Kid continues to not get along. The question is who will win this legendary fight?

Well, I was pretty surprised of this film! Finally, Rocky and Raging Bull team up together in a boxing movie which this was supposed to happen years ago! Even though this film has NOTHING to do with Rocky Balboa at all… you can betcha there will be a lot of similarities and there are tons of Rocky references all over the movie!

This film is not just a boxing drama. It’s actually a comedy. Stallone and Deniro were pretty funny on screen. I definitely did have a lot of laughs. Deniro’s character, The Kid, kept trash talking Razor and Razor never wanted anything to do with the guy which is hilarious stuff. Some of the lines that Deniro says just had me crackin’ up… he was entertaining as hell like always. Look like Stallone is trying to do comedy films more. “The Expendables” movies are action comedies and so was “Escape Plan” a little bit. I guess it’s a new thing for Sly these days that he wants to do comedy more and I think he does a good job at it. While Sly Stallone is mostly known as an action guy… I guess he wants to show that he can be funny and he WAS funny in this movie. What I love the most about this movie is that Stallone continues to show his love for boxing and the same with Deniro.

The writing and the script was also good. Casting was good. Even though Kim Basinger is aging, she’s still looking hot. Jon Bernthal (Shane from “The Walking Dead”) did a great job in his first major acting role. Iron Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield make surprising cameos — not saying what they do ’cause I don’t wanna reveal any spoilers. I don’t know much about Kevin Hart and even he was entertaining as well!

This was a well-made film. I liked it a lot. The film didn’t bore me at all.

Two thumbs up!

Joaquin Phoenix as Lex Luthor for “Batman/Superman” movie??? Yes, please…

Warner Bros. is interested in hiring Joaquin Phoenix for an unknown role for the upcoming “Batman/Superman” film and speculation is already going around that he could be playing Lex Luthor. Is Joaquin going to have to shave his head bald for this role?

More on the story, here:

I agree with this pick. Joaquin plays menacing and evil characters quite well, and he can be pretty scary!! Joaquin maybe a weird guy in real life but the man sure can act!

Maybe Lex won’t even be bald in the next film. Keep in mind, that Zack changes all the characters for his Superman movies so he might have a different vision for Lex as well. Maybe everybody is wrong and he could end up being the Flash or Green Lantern instead? Maybe even Jimmy Olsen?

Yesterday, three Hollywood legends passed away…

Yesterday, three Hollywood legends passed away and they are… Peter O’ Toole (Lawrence of Arabia), Tom Laughlin (Billy Jack), and Joan Fontaine (“Suspicion”, “Rebecca”). I would have put up obits for all three of them and will get around to it soon but it will be a lot of work so I’ll give all three a quick shout-out here. RIP to all of ’em. Very strange how three movie legends passed away in one day. That’s what life is all about, I guess. We’re all gonna go at some point.
