Wow! Can you call this guy a hero or what? He sure is! Rapper, T.I. saves a man’s life from suicide. The rapper was on his way to shoot a music video to Atlanta, then he heard on the news on the radio in his vehicle, that a man was about ready to jump off a building. T.I., the man himself, showed up out of no where, to talk the man out of suicide and it was a success!
I’m no fan of T.I.’s music. but man, he did a really really good thing here. Shows he really cares about people. If T.I. never showed up, the man probably would have jumped. Good for T.I.!
…how come Billy Idol have never been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet? He’s eligible for a nomination but he’s never got one yet. He’s a punk rock pioneer and changed the 80’s mainstream music, so he definitely deserves to get inducted. I think his time will come someday. Don’t worry, Billy!
Billy Idol, the legendary controversial punk rocker, has made a deal with Touchstone (a division of Simon & Schuster) publishing company to write his first time ever autobiography. The name of the novel will be titled, “Dancing With Myself”, named after one of his hit radio singles. Billy Idol is a punk rock pioneer who sang for earlier punk rock bands such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Generation X, and of course, he had a very successful solo career run with his longtime guitarist, Steve Stevens. This blond spiked hair British guy had a huge music career in the 80’s, but his music career started to tank when he did that 1993 techno album, “Cyberpunk”. After that album, Billy Idol took a long hiatus to do some acting in movies. In 1995 Billy Idol reunited with guitarist Steve Stevens to release, “Devil’s Playground”. Oh yeah, I’m a big Billy Idol fan, so I’m definitely buying this when it hits the bookshelves for sure! His latest album, “Devil’s Playground” never got the popularity it deserved but I think that album was the best album of his career. Hope Billy will do another new album with Steve pretty soon.
People seem to be forgetting that it’s also John Entwistle of the Who’s birthday today. John would have been 66 if he was still around. John was a very important member of the Who. Try to remember that. The Who has always been one of my favorite classic rock bands of all time, I still love them to this day. RIP John.
Today is the day we celebrate the great music of John Lennon, who touched and inspired everyone’s lives, including mine. If he was still alive, he would have been 70 today. If he was still alive, I’m sure he’ll still be doing what he has always done, make music. If he was still alive, I can still see him releasing albums, touring, still being in a healthy relationship with Yoko and the rest of the Lennon family, etc. Just imagine how Yoko and their sons will be celebrating John’s birthday today. I’m sure they’ll be celebrating in a special way.
Max Weinberg finally explains why he won’t be doing Conan’s new show on TBS. It has something to do with his health problems, as he just had a massive 12 hour open heart surgery. He already had the surgery right after the “Tonight Show”, Coco’s final appearance. Weinberg plans to live in New Jersey full time and he also plans to drum for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band more. He’s currently on a tour with Springsteen right now.
Weezer maybe a real popular band still but they still have haters out there too, this one hater, however, is taking the Weezer hate a bit too far. Don’t you think? A man named, James Burns has started a donation campaign to raise $10 million dollars to pay Weezer for them to break up. See the donation, here. Yes, James Burns is serious about this. Mr. Burns did an interview over at the Stranger blog to talk about it.
Sounds like this guy is completely jealous of Weezer’s fame and popularity. I’m not much a Weezer fan anymore, but it’s all up to the band to decide whether they want to break up or not. I don’t think Weezer will ever break up, no matter the cost. So this delusional loser, can keep trying. I don’t think he’ll be a success at this. Sounds like Mr. Burns wants to keep the $10 million for himself, so don’t buy into this scam, people.

At the end of the Thriller video, I always thought that MJ’s yellow eyes was some kind of special effect. After seeing this photo, the yellow eyes were actually eye contacts. In that picture, that’s the young MJ when he was really cool, the red jacket and all. RIP, Michael Jackson.
I think Neil Young’s “Le Noise” is his best new record in years. In fact, it’s ranked high up in the top 5 list of his best albums. Neil Young is seriously at the top of his game now. On this new record, Neil doesn’t play with a band. It’s just him and his electric guitar. The songs on the album are absolutely haunting and creepy in a way. The album maybe hard for new Neil Young fans to get into, but once you get into it, the album will grab you. I think it’s very interesting Neil, playing his electric guitar without a band, using overdrive or distortion pedals. He wants to prove electric guitar music doesn’t need a band. This is the best that Neil Young has been in years. It’s definitely the best album all year long. This album is different than the stuff he did in the past. The sound in Daniel Lanois’s home is out of this world. The songwriting on this album is great.

As expected, the Beastie Boys are getting so much negativity and hate on the internet, because of their nomination for the, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Mainly because people think they are a rap and hip hop band, they aren’t rock n’ roll. This is just enough proof that people know nothing about music when they think they do. Beastie Boys aren’t rock? Of course they are. They always have been rock. They may have added some rap/hip hop influence to their songs, but they are indeed rock n’ roll if you carefully listen to their music. Songs like “Fight For Your Right to Party”, “Sabatoge”, “Root Down”, “Sure Shot”, “So Whatcha Want”, etc. All those songs are rock songs. The Beastie Boys are pioneers for bringing rap and rock together.
Many people say that the Beastie Boys don’t deserve the Hall of Fame induction, but I think they do. They accomplished a lot in the music industry. People who think the Beastie Boys aren’t rock, are really delusional. I respect the Beastie Boys ’cause they are white men who aren’t afraid to show their love for rap and rock n’ roll. I can sit here and write all day on how the Beastie Boys are rock n’ roll, but to keep it short and simple, any rock n’ roll band could cover their songs easily and make ’em sound like rock songs.
The Beastie Boys are incredible. They have a pretty good chance in getting inducted too. The haters slamming the Beastie Boys are probably jealous. Listen to their songs in the videos below and tell me if they aren’t rock songs. If you say they aren’t, you must be deaf.
