Report: Phish add more shows to their tour, and yes, they are coming to Saratoga Springs at SPAC!!!

Trey Anastasio and the original members of the jam band, Phish, has officially reunited. The band has already been playing a few concerts over the U.S. They added some more gigs to their tour. The band is making a stop to SPAC in Saratoga Springs on August 16th of this summer. I think I’m definitely getting inside tickets for this one.

I have seen Phish live once before and wouldn’t mind seeing them again. I also saw Trey Anastasio solo concert before as well, so that makes it two times I’ve seen Trey on stage. The jam band concerts are such a blast! I love going to them.

Thought: Come on, Clint Black, concentrate on your music, don’t worry about becoming a TV star…

As a huge fan of Clint Black’s music in the country genre, I just don’t understand why Clint is trying to turn himself into a TV star. I’ve been watching Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” every Sunday night just for laughs, it’s actually pretty entertaining, seeing Tom Green, Dennis Rodman, Andrew Dice Clay, and Clint Black teaming up together.

Clint Black appeared on “Secret Talents of the Stars” as a stand up comedian, which that show only lasted one episode and it got cancelled pretty quickly. Now Clint is a contestant on Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” this year.

Clint Black is a talented singer/songwriter that I admire, that I don’t think he needs the mainstream fame that he’s going after. Yeah, I know, Clint Black is not that well known of a country music artist, maybe that’s why he’s using TV as a ploy to promote his music.

He’s doing fine as a music artist. He doesn’t really need the TV fame. The dude is stepping in Ozzy Osbournes shoes, first as a music artist, then turning himself into a TV star.

Next week’s episode of “Celebrity Apprentice” will feature a very heated Dennis Rodman vs. Clint Black feud. Videos of the segment has already leaked youtube.

Confirmed: Rihanna and Chris Brown already did duet together…

Turns out that the rumours are true that Rihanna and Chris Brown both collaborated on a song together. They went into the studio to record a song just weeks after Chris has been arrested for allegedly beating the pop star.

No further details of the song has been given. No plans on whether or not to release the song on either of their upcoming albums.

NME.com reports:

http://www.nme.com/news/rihanna/43420

Here’s an idea for men wanting to collaborate on a song with a woman, beat her up, and it’s gaurunteed to be a huge hit! I know, bad joke. If you think about it, if they do release the song, it probably would become the most overplayed mainstream hit. Controversy creates popularity.

Report: Crosby, Stills and Nash added to “Glastonbury 2009” lineup…Neil Young to reunite with them too?

Crosby, Stills and Nash has been booked for “Glastonbury 2009” this year. Does this mean we will get a CSNY reunion? That’ll probably happen too, although the article says it is unlikely. All we can do is cross our fingers.

Report: James Hetfield writes open letter to fans on Metallica.com…

James Hetfield, Metallica’s main man, is back home in the states. He wrote an open letter to his fans on Metallica.com apologizing that Metallica had to cancel the show in Stockholm due to illness.

James, even makes fun of himself about it by jokingly saying, “even an oyster could have taken me” and “Swedish oyster cult” would be thrown off the tour…more cowbell…more barf bags! LOL!

Report: Billy Corgan fighting to get paid by radiostations that play Smashing Pumpkins music…

Smashing Pumpkins, frontman, Billy Corgan is in court, testifying on Capitol Hill on the House Judiciary Committee. Lobbying for rights that artists should get paid when their songs are being played on the radio. You can see a picture of Billy in court in this article, he doesn’t look too happy either.

Variety Reports:

I agree that music artists should get paid when their stuff is being used whether it be for TV or radio, whatever. It’s their work. They work hard for it. They deserve to be respected back.

It’s not about being obsessed with money, it’s about respecting the hard work they do in their music.

I hope the musicians win this battle. They deserve to get paid when their music is played on radio.

Report: Krist Novoselic announces, no more unreleased Nirvana music…

Krist Novoselic, the former Nirvana bassist, announced the shocking news, that he and Dave Grohl will no longer release unreleased Nirvana songs. The song “You Know You’re Right”, will be the final unreleased track. Of course, we’re all sure the band wrote tons of songs that they didn’t release for their albums, they will only be kept for themselves, not for the public.

Courtney Love have been feuding with Krist and Dave for years over the rights of releasing Nirvana songs. Krist reveals that the surviving members of Nirvana has buried the hatchet with Courtney Love and now in good terms with her.

Krist discussed more of Nirvana’s history with the Legacy Project.

More on it here:

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/03/10/no-more-unreleased-nirvana-songs-krist-novoselic-says/

That’s a good thing the band is doing. Keeping the band’s legacy to themselves and keeping Cobain’s wishes is a pretty smart thing to do. I actually don’t like it when the music industry releases unreleased tracks of dead musicians. Like Jimi Hendrix or Bob Marley for example, they shouldn’t release their unreleased material. Keep them hidden and kept secret. Don’t ruin their legacy.
