Brock praises the “Walking Dead” episode 3, it was better than the first two!!!

Wow!!!! I’m so blown away by the “Walking Dead” TV series so far as I have now caught up with the show last night. Saw the second and third episode on AMC last night. The episode “Guts” the second one was pretty good, but the third one, “Tell Them To the Frogs” was the best one yet! Over the years, most TV shows are crap and once in a while, a good TV show comes around. The “Walking Dead” is the best show on television. George A. Romero should take note on how to do the zombie thing ’cause Frank Darabont does it better.

The third episode had a good storyline and good acting with all cast members, especially to Michael Rooker, who plays the bad guy, and I was impressed with his acting the most. You would recognize Michael Rooker from the Stallone movie, “Cliffhanger”, which he is well known for. Michael Rooker plays Merie, who is an expert gunman and he hangs on the roof of a building shooting zombies with a sniper gun. When Rick Grimes and his friends reach the top of the building to hide from the chasing zombies, Michael Rooker’s character, Merie started harassing him and his friends, then he gets handcuffed by Rick and the gang just left him there, to go back to the camp site where Rick reunites with his wife and son there. While there, a bit of a love triangle soap opera starts between, Shane, Lori, and Rick. Shane and Lori had an affair together while Rick was out hunting zombies in the city trying to survive (Lori was Rick’s wife). Rick haven’t confronted Shane about Lori yet, but he will soon, I’m sure.

The “Walking Dead” is my new obsession and I’ll be watching every Sunday for sure. As you all know, I love horror and zombie fiction is my favorite. Out of all the horror TV shows from the past: “Tales from the Crypt”, “Tales From the Darkside”, etc. I would say, “Walking Dead” is the best horror TV show by far. It’s really shocking that AMC would air a show that is really bloody, and gory. The show won’t air nudity of course, but at least they don’t cut out the swearing and blood & guts.

You gotta wonder what Stephen King thinks about this show. I’m sure he is watching too. Stephen King will probably speak about the show soon when he writes to Entertainment Weekly again. Can’t wait to hear his thoughts!

Brock reviews the “Walking Dead” TV show…

“The Walking Dead” a new TV horror fiction show, have been so popular on the web lately. Other people have talked me into watching the show myself. So I saw the first episode on the AMC website, and was pretty impressed. As you all know, “The Walking Dead” TV show was adapted from the black and white comic books that were around back in 2003. Yes, the storyline of some guy waking up and finding the world being taken over by zombies have been told so many times in various styles. I think AMC does their version perfectly. There have been so many horror TV shows in the past but most of them have been garbage. The first episode was really creepy and scary. It was also bloody and gory. Something that would been shown on the big screen, not the small screen. So it’s really weird that AMC is able to show these things. “The Walking Dead” was really good, I was very impressed by it all around.  I think Andrew Lincoln is a great actor. Frank Darabont, the legendary director is the one who created this show. Consider me a new fan of “The Walking Dead”. I’ll be watching every Sunday night. I’m going to try to watch episode 2 of “Walking Dead” to catch up before Sunday, the new episode. So I now watch two different new prime time drama shows on TV, “The Event” on NBC, and now, “The Walking Dead” on AMC. If you seriously like, George A Romero and zombie fiction, of course, you would love this. This is an awesome show, definitely check it out. I can see why it’s so popular!

Report: Hugh Jackman turns down the Oscars again to work on “Wolverine 2″…

Hugh Jackman, turned down to host the Oscars last year, he turns it down again this year. The reason is simple. He’s getting ready to work on “Wolverine 2” with Darren Aronofsky. I’m glad Hugh hosting the Oscars is just a one off for him. It’s a good move he no longer wants to do it anymore. He belongs in the movies, not hosting award shows.

Read the full story here at, Deadline.

Hugh is the man for that!

As for who I think should host the next Oscars this year, I think Conan O’ Brien would put on a great show. I would also like it if the Academy gave Sacha Baron Cohen, a chance. Lets hope they don’t get Steve Martin again.

Thought: About Keith Olbermann getting suspended from MSNBC…

The news is creating controversy on the web that talk show host, Keith Olbermann, has been suspended without pay by MSNBC, only because he donated money to three democratic campaigns.

More on it, here.

I am with everyone else, that I find this suspension ridiculous. Keith was doing something really good by helping out, and this is what he gets in return? Heh, his bosses might be Republican, lol. I’m on Keith’s side all the way. I think he had every right to do what he did. I thought this was America???

Report: NBC’s “The Event” gets a full season deal!!!

Not surprisingly, NBC’s “The Event”, has been greenlighted for a full season! I don’t care about the other shows getting the greenlight, but “The Event” is one show that I actually like. I’ve been watching, “The Event” every week, and have been pretty hooked to the story line.

See the article here at, Deadline.

The show is getting a lot of nasty critics by viewers, but in my opinion, I think the show is really really really good. Why do I like the show so much? I’ll explain in another post some other time in full detail. I’ll defend the series to get viewers to understand of what they don’t understand about it. It’s the best Prime Time show in a while. Not better than “Friday Night Lights”, but “The Event” is science fiction. We haven’t had a science fiction TV series in a long while. I record this show on my DVR since WWE RAW is on during this time.

Report: Minka Kelly is Esquire magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive”, and I totally agree with the pick!

Friday Night Light’s, Minka Kelly who plays Lyla Garrity, has been selected by Esquire magazine as “Sexiest Woman Alive” this year. I absolutely agree with the pick! She’s been my favorite actress and celebrity for a long while. Not only she’s hot, stunning, and beautiful, she’s also a talented actress. Kudos to Esquire magazine!

See the pics and the article, here.

**drool** dayam, she’s pretty smokin’!

Now that she’s no longer doing FNL, hopefully she’ll get some big movie roles here.

Report: Max Weinberg explains why he won’t be doing Conan’s new show!!!

Max Weinberg finally explains why he won’t be doing Conan’s new show on TBS. It has something to do with his health problems, as he just had a massive 12 hour open heart surgery. He already had the surgery right after the “Tonight Show”, Coco’s final appearance. Weinberg plans to live in New Jersey full time and he also plans to drum for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band more. He’s currently on a tour with Springsteen right now.

Report: Wonder Woman coming to the small screen by Warner Bros., will be written and produced by David E. Kelley

Look like Warner Bros. is moving forward to a new Wonder Woman TV series. The original starred Lynda Carter from the 70’s. The new series will be written and produced by David E. Kelley, who also brought us, Ally McBeal. See the article here at, Deadline.

Lynda Carter, would obviously be too old to reprise her role for the new series, so they would have to use a young actress.

Hope they do a good job with the new TV series. I remember when NBC redid, “Bionic Woman”, it only lasted for one season due to a, writer’s strike.

I’m pretty sure Lynda Carter would probably appear in the new “Wonder Woman” series but as a different role.

Brock praises NBC’s “The Event”!!!

For the past two weeks, I’ve been recording “The Event” on my DVR since WWE RAW is on Monday nights. I’ve seen the first two episodes of the new primtime drama show, “The Event” and so far, I’ve been very impressed with the show. It is way better than JJ Abrams, “Undercovers”. It’s about a young man named, Sean Walker, whose girlfriend gets kidnapped and goes missing. Sean is doing whatever it takes to find her. She was taken from a Carribean cruise when he was getting ready to propose to her. As he tries his best to find her, he gets trapped into an assassination plot and he’s about to expose the biggest cover up in U.S. history.

This show “The Event” is just as good as “Friday Night Lights”. I didn’t think any of the new upcoming NBC primtime drama shows were gonna be any good, but I actually liked, “The Event” quite a lot. The writing is very intelligent and insightful. It mixes drama, romance, science fiction, suspense, and mystery, all in one. I think Jason Ritter who plays Sean is a good actor. So far, not a bad show at all. Hopefully it stays good throughout the first season in order for me to keep watching. I’ll continue to watch this show weekly, ’cause I’m already curious on how this “Event” is going to end.

I can’t stand primetime NBC, but sometimes a good show will come around, and “The Event” is a good one. No complaints so far.
