Oscar nominees will be revealed next week on Jan. 15th and they will be announced by…

… JJ Abrams and Chris Pine. Cheryl Boone Isaacs and director Alfonso Cuaron will also help announce the nominees.

This year’s Oscars should be interesting. What will be the Best Picture nominees?

“American Sniper” maybe. I also think the “Theory of Everything” is gonna get a nod ’cause of Stephen Hawking. “Birdman” could also get a nod for “Best Picture.

What about “Gone Girl” and “Interstellar”??? I’m hoping but I doubt it, though.

I haven’t seen “American Sniper” yet but I’m gonna see it next week, hopefully. “American Sniper” comes out in theaters everywhere next Friday on Jan. 16th so I’ll see it then.

While I would like “American Sniper” to get the Best Picture win, I don’t think it’s gonna happen. I wouldn’t be surprised that the Best Picture win will probably end up going to that Stephen Hawking movie. I know the Oscars love those sad and powerful emotional drama type of movies. That’s what they mostly go for instead of the sci-fi and action films.

While Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” was the best Marvel film and I think it’s one of the best superhero films of all time… it’s not gonna get a best picture nod ’cause the Oscars aren’t into those kind of movies. Once again, they mostly go for the sad and powerful drama type of movies.

It’s gonna be interesting to see the nominees next week.

I hate most award shows but I continue to watch the Oscars every year since I’m a huge movie buff and all.

My Oscar predictions for 2014…

Well, the Oscar nominations for this year are out and as expected, “Gravity”, and “American Hustle”, scored the most nominations. I have seen both movies in the theater and while both movies are fantastic, I think, “Gravity” will win big this year.

Of course, there are a lot of snubs and it’s interesting that George Clooney got the snub for “Gravity” as I thought he was the best part of the film. The Oscars snubbing Clooney? Wow. They hardly ever do that. That’s okay though. Clooney isn’t worried about it as he already is an Oscar winner for his film, “Syriana” and I’m sure he will get nominated for acting roles again in the future. He might have a chance to get nominated for “The Monuments Men”.

I’ve noticed that “Lone Survivor” did end up making a few nominations at this years Oscars after all but only the smaller categories… it only got nominated for best Sound mixing/editing. It got the snub for everything else.

I don’t agree with Ellen Degeneres hosting the Oscars again ’cause I can’t stand that annoying woman.

Anyhow, here are my predictions for this years Oscars:

BEST PICTURE: Gravity

BEST ACTOR: Chiwetel Ejiofor “12 Years A Slave” (I’ve never seen the film yet but looks real good)

BEST ACTRESS: Sandra Bullock, “Gravity”

ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE: Barkhad Abdi “Captain Phillips” (Haven’t seen “Captain Phillips” either but want to)

ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE: Jennifer Lawrence, “American Hustle”

ANIMATED FEATURED FILM: “Frozen” (Another film I haven’t seen but want to)

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Gravity

COSTUME DESIGN: American Hustle

DIRECTING: Alfonso Cuaron “Gravity”

FILM EDITING: Gravity

MUSIC ORIGINAL SCORE: Gravity

MUSIC ORIGINAL SONG: “Ordinary Love” by U2 (if they won at the Golden Globes, they’ll win at the Oscars too)

PRODUCTION DESIGN: Gravity

SOUND EDITING: Gravity

SOUND MIXING:  Gravity

VISUAL EFFECTS: Gravity

WRITING ADAPTED SCREEN PLAY: 12 Years A Slave

WRITING ORIGINAL SCREEN PLAY: Her

I hate award shows but I like the Oscars. I watch it every year.

Report: Jimmy Fallon turns down Oscars host gig, says “2013” wasn’t his year…

Last week, the Academy wanted Jimmy Fallon to host the Oscars in 2013, but ABC was kind of skeptical about it at first because they were a station who aired “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and they were competing against, Fallon’s “Late Night Show”. Even though it looks that negotiations between ABC and NBC may be on good terms now, turns out that Jimmy Fallon doesn’t want to host the Oscars anyway, even if he was offered. Jimmy confirmed the news on the Today Show. He said 2013 wasn’t the right time for him.

More on the story, here.

While it’s a bummer he turned it down ’cause he would make an entertaining host, I give him kudos for his honesty. I hope the Oscars will find a good host, next year. Anybody but Billy Crystal or Steve Martin. They hosted the Oscars enough times.

I know the Oscars are trying very hard to get a good host but seems everyone turns them down: Hugh Jackman, Russell Brand, Eddie Murphy, etc.

I’d like to see Ricky Gervais get it in 2013 ’cause he seems to be doing a good job with the Golden Globes, plus the guy is funny as hell.

Big snubs for the Oscars 2012, I can think of a few…

We’re talking about “snubs”. Who’ve been left off the nomination lists, of who you think should have made it?

I can think of a few snubs, big time:

– Mel Gibson for Best Actor “The Beaver”

– Nick Nolte for Best Supporting Actor “Warrior”

That’s it. I’m sure Mel was considered for a nomination, but due to his troubled past, it might create some controversy if they gave him something, but his personal life should be kept away from his film career. Mel should have made it.

Report: Rooney Mara gets Oscar nomination for Best Actress!!!!

Wow! What a shocker! I didn’t think the Oscars would give “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” any Oscar nods, but they did end up giving Rooney Mara, a nomination for “Best Actress” for which she played, Lisbeth Salander in the film. The film also got a nod for best cinematography, editing, and sound mixing which is pretty cool! I’ve always thought Rooney’s performance in “Girl”, was Oscar worthy ’cause it was such a great performance and so intense. However, though, I don’t think Rooney is going to get the win for this category. The win for “Best Actress” will probably end up going to Michelle Williams, but it would be cool if Rooney got it ’cause she deserves it more than Michelle, in my opinion. I think the only reason Michelle is getting all the credit and recognition is because of Heath Ledger.

As for the other categories, I’m happy with the “Best Picture” selections this year. Noticing that Brad Pitt got two “Best Picture” nominations with “Moneyball”, and “The Tree of Life”. The only movies, I’ve seen out of the “Best Picture” nominations are: “The Help”, “Moneyball”, and “War Horse”, I haven’t seen the other ones. I’m hoping “The Help” will get the Best Picture win but it will probably go to “The Descendants”.

I’m predicting George Clooney will win for Best Actor for “The Descendants” as well. I haven’t seen, “The Descendants” yet, but when the film arrives on DVD, I’ll see it then.

“Actor In a Supporting Role”, I hope Jonah Hill gets the win for that one for “Moneyball” ’cause his performance was really good in that film. “Actress in a Supporting Role”, Octavia Spencer will probably get that win for “The Help”.

“Best Animated Feature”, I haven’t seen any of those films, but my guess that “Rango” would probably get the win. For “Best Director” either Martin Scorsese for “Hugo” and Alexander Payne for “The Descendants” will get the win for that one.

“Best Original Musical Score”, I’m hoping John Williams for “War Horse” will get that one. “Music Original Song”, The Muppets most definitely.

See the full nomination list, here.

Not a Cool Video: Susan Boyle wasn’t lip synching? Really? Of course, she was!!!

The internet is buzzing about this today, Susan Boyle choking during “O Holy Night” on the View. People immediately think it wasn’t a lip synched performance ’cause she stopped the singing in the middle of the song.

For proof that she was lip synching, at about 0:54, she makes this weird face while she was singing, as she made that face, her voice kept going. It definitely wasn’t live ’cause ABC didn’t air the whole performance, which I’m willing to bet they edited out the part where she really messed up.

I don’t think you need more proof than that, do ya?

Report: Tim Allen to return to primetime television in fall of 2011???

Former “Home Improvement” star, Tim Allen, maybe making a huge comeback to primetime TV in the fall of 2011. In the early 90’s the actor was made famous for the hit sitcom, “Home Improvement”, back in the days when DVR’s weren’t around. After “Home Improvement” was cancelled, Tim Allen went on to become a huge movie star. His first film when leaving “Home Improvement” was the “Santa Clause”, then comes “Toy Story”. He became well known playing Santa and Buzz Lightyear in the movie business. He also starred in a slew of other comedies such as “For Richer or Poorer”, “Galaxy Quest”, “Big Trouble”, “Joe Somebody”, “Christmas with the Kranks”,  and of course, “Wild Hogs”.

Tim is currently working with Greg Daniels, who is one of the writers/producers of “The Office” and “Parks & Recreation”.

More on it here.

Is this a hint that Tim Allen is on his way to NBC? Will he actually have a role in “The Office” or “Parks & Recreation”? Maybe Tim will take over as boss in “the Office”,  when Michael Scott leaves? I’m all for Tim returning to the small screen. He’s a talented guy and funny as hell!

Oscar nominations thoughts…very happy with this year’s selections!!!

Well the nominations are finally here folks:

http://oscar.go.com/nominations/nominees

I remember last year’s Oscar nominations was very dissapointing, simply because “The Dark Knight” got ignored for Best Picture

I’m very happy with this year’s selections though. Only thing I’m dissapointed in is that “Star Trek” didn’t get nominated for Best Picture, but I’m happy it got Best Sound and Best Makeup.

I’m glad to see my favorite movie of 2009, “District 9” nominated, I would think that is a shocker ’cause I didn’t think the Academy would go for that film. This year’s Best Picture selection is really great this year.

I’ve seen most of the movies nominated this year except for “The Blind Side”, “A Serious Man”, “An Education”, “Up” and “Precious”, I haven’t seen those yet but the rest I have seen. It is weird how Meryl Streep only got one nomination this year.

Everybody knows that James Cameron will get everything once again this year, but I really don’t want that to happen. My first choice for “Best Picture” winner would be the “Hurt Locker”. My second choice would be “Inglourious Basterds”, and then “District 9”, any of those three would make me happy. The Best Picture winner will probably be “Avatar” and I still don’t think that film deserves it.

Looking forward to seeing this year’s Oscars.

Oh yeah, and one more thing about the Adam Lambert controversy…

I’m sure David Bowie is laughing his ass off at that performance as well. I’m sure it reminded David of his past when he was younger when he wore all that makeup and women’s lingerie on stage back in the 70’s. David did some silly things in his performances in the 70’s, but at least he can sing incredibly and performed well in his earlier years.

Thought: About the Adam Lambert AMA performance…

Perez Hilton said:

“Wonder how much backlash MTV received when Britney Spears and Madonna had their infamous kiss?

Oh wait, people were loving it!”

http://perezhilton.com/2009-11-23-abc-receives-1500-complaints-about-glambert

He is correct. Most people loved the Britney and Madonna kiss. Why is that?

It’s because people love lesbians. Especially most straight men love lesbian women kissing each other or even better having hardcore sex. I love lesbian women, it’s my favorite kind of porn.

The reason so many people are offended at the man on man kiss with Lambert and the dancer is because there are not a lot of straight people out there that enjoy seeing two men kiss. Most people do find two men kissing disgusting. It shouldn’t be on network TV, on a regular TV channel, that is not cable. It is something called, the “ick factor”.

It was more accepting for MTV with Madonna and Britney because it’s on MTV and it was a PG-14 thing. Remember, before the MTV Awards air on TV, there is a “mature viewing matters” warning before they start the show on TV. Letting people know beforehand that there will be plenty of adult material on MTV Awards.

The American Music Awards which is on ABC, a network non-cable station, didn’t do that. This is the reason for the backlash against ABC. ABC are stupid idiots that allowed this. ABC needs to suffer some harsh consequences for this. ABC is a family friendly station and they screwed this up.

It was an embarrassing performance, and I’m sure Lady Gaga would have handled the homosexual themed performance much better as she usually does.

What ABC did was ridiculous and all they are doing is trying to follow the footsteps of MTV. Do a shock factor for ratings and controversy.

I have no problem with gay people as I respect them, but Adam Lambert is a joke and a prick who deserve no career in the music industry. His album will fail and won’t even reach high in the Billboard charts. End of story.
