Cool Video: Zack Snyder’s “Sucker Punch” trailer, is this what his take on Superman will look like?

Well Zack Snyder’s new movie, “Sucker Punch” teaser trailer has finally hit the web. In my opinion, it looks okay, nothing I would see in theater though. Looks like a wait for DVD type of thing. The action and story looks interesting, but the thing that doesn’t do it for me is the two leading women in this filim trying to look sexy and tough. Is Zack Snyder a player when it comes to women? You know, Zack seems to have a good eye and seems to be an expert with eye candy when it comes to women in film.

You wonder if Lois Lane and Lana Lang will look all sexy and tough for his version in “Superman”. If you watch the “Sucker Punch” trailer, this might be an example of what his Superman film might be like. Full of CGI and lots of green screen effects and of course, *ahem*, slo mo.

After seeing this trailer, it’s making me a little worried for Chris Nolan and Snyder’s verison of “Superman”. “Superman” will probably ending up being like “300” and “Watchmen”.

Report: The long awaited “Superman: Earth One” graphic novel hits bookshelves this week!!!

The long awaited and most talked about graphic novel for DC Comics, “Superman: Earth One” finally hits bookshelves later this week, I believe the release date is Oct. 27th. The story is the beginning of Superman, how it all started. The reason this graphic novel is the most talked about is because, this story hasn’t been told before. It goes back to the beginning of how Clark Kent transformed into Superman. Talks about how he got the suit and things like that.

See the link at amazing for more images from the graphic novel, here.

See the wikipedia here for more.

Looks to be an interesting read! If I can find a bookstore in Orlando, I’ll pick it up down there if I can.

Thought: Why do people want Brandon Routh back so bad?

I look through entertainment movie blogs and message board forums talking about the actor choices for the upcoming new, Superman movie. The most popular picks are Brandon Routh and Jon Hamm. Brandon Routh is the most popular choice, of course. Ya know, I thought, “Superman: Returns” was a pretty good movie, but the only thing is, I never cared for Routh as Superman that much.

The reason people want Routh back is because he’s so similar to Christopher Reeve. Plus everyone wants to see Routh in another Superman movie. Honestly, I would prefer Jon Hamm more than Routh. I said before, I don’t want Routh back. I like Jon Hamm, he’s the better choice, I think.

I know I said this quite a bit, but don’t be surprised that it could be neither Brandon Routh or Jon Hamm as Superman. They could go with Leo Dicaprio due to the success of “Inception” like I said before.

So who would I want to play Superman? Honestly, and here is my 2cents. The Superman role should go to an actor who is not a big name star. In other words, the role should really go to an unknown. Christopher Reeve was an unknown when he came in, so was Brandon Routh. All that stuff with Brandon Routh possibly being considered to come back, all that news is from a UK newspaper, “News of the World”, which are tabloids. So I’m not believing that. The role should go to an unknown. I’m sure Chris and Zack would get a guy for Superman, that we’ve never even heard before. So don’t get all excited that they could get a big name superstar for Superman.

Thought: I wouldn’t really call Superman a crimefighter, MTV!!!

I just wanted to respond to this article, here.

MTV News said:

“Instead, the DC Comics icon will return to his early days as a crimefighter in a wholly original story.”

Can MTV get anything right? I’ve been a Superman fanatic for many years, ever since I was a child. So I know for a fact, that Superman was never really a crimefighter. The crimefighter is none other than, Batman. Not Superman.

Superman has always been known to save people’s lives. If a plane is about to crash, or if a school bus is about to fall off a bridge, Superman would come to the rescue. If someone falls off a building or if an Earthquake is about to happen, Superman would come to the rescue. Sure, Superman fights some crime, like he would catch burglars and terrorists, but he never went as far as capturing murderers, kidnappers or bank robbers, that’s all Batman.

Why would MTV call Superman, a crimefighter? So stupid, if you ask me. Any Superman fan would know he’s not a crimefighter.

Report: Zack Snyder reveals that the new Superman movie will be original and will focus on earlier days of Superman…

Zack Snyder recently did a French interview on a French film website to promote, “Legends of the Guardians”, over seas, and of course, he was asked about the Superman movie he is directing soon. While Zack still refuses to discuss the plot, he did reveal a little. He says the next Superman movie won’t be a remake of the earlier films and it won’t be adapted from the comics. The next Superman movie will stay focused on Superman’s earlier days.

More on it, here.

What does he mean, by the earlier days of Superman? Will the whole movie be taken place in Sueprman’s home planet, Krypton? If so, that would be really cool. “Superman: The Movie” had scenes on planet Krypton but very little, only in the beginning of the film. If we had a Superman flick that was taken place on planet Krypton a lot more, that would be sweet. That would mean Jor-El would get more screen time.

Either that, or are we going to get the other plot where most of the movie will be taken place at the Daily Planet in Metropolis.

Zack is keeping quiet on the plot ’cause I’m sure that is what he is paid to do. Christopher Nolan and WB’s don’t want the plot revealed until the time is right. Hopefully they’ll reveal the plot soon ’cause I’m dying to know what the story will be about too.

Report: General Zod is not the villain for next Superman flick, Zack Snyder says…

Zack Snyder, the new director of “Superman” did this little interview at this blog site, and he says that General Zod, being villain for the next movie, is just a rumour.

Kind of a good thing actually. I would honestly not see General Zod or Luthor be used again. What Superman villains haven’t been used yet for live action film?

Look at this list, and see for yourself.

I would like either: Brainiac, Doomsday or Darkseid.

Toyman would be cool too.

Thought: About Zack Snyder’s slow motion technique, as long as people hate it, proves he’s a good film maker…

If there is one thing that bothers me about Zack Snyder directing Superman, here it is. I don’t like how movie fans are bashing Zack Snyder’s “slow motion” technique, which is what he’s known for in all of his films. People say he does it way too much during an action sequence, when something moves so fast, he slows it right down to try and make it look cool. You know what? Zack’s slow motion technique doesn’t bother me at all. In fact, I actually find it pretty cool on how he does it.

Why the hell are people picking on Zack Snyder for his slow motion technique, when this same technique has been done so many times in so many films from the past. For example, the slow mo technique has been used in almost all of the Terminator films, Star Wars or any action film from the past has used slow motion for action scenes. Sylvester Stallone used it for one scene in the new “Rambo” movie. It’s been used in the “Expendables” as well. What about the “Dark Knight” movie itself? All the movies you all love have done slow mo.

People hate Zack Snyder’s slo mo technique, because they know he’s the best at it. Zack is an expert at the slow motion technique ’cause you can do so many different creative things with it by using computer effects. He’s done slow motion like no other film maker has done before. Zack’s slow motion is part of the art. The slow motion is needed in certain parts so it can create some magical special effects along with it. People don’t complain about the high number of slow motion effects in many other superhero films, so why do people bash Zack for it? The reason for the slow mo, it’s a cover up that they can’t do the stunt for real because it’s too dangerous.

There will probably be a lot of Slo Mo in the next Superman movie, but hell, even the old Superman flicks with Christopher Reeve had plenty of slow motion too, so shut the hell up about the slo mo, people! Hypocrites, my god!

Thought: Who should score the music for “Superman: The Man of Steel”?

After Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan decides the casting for the new “Superman” movie that will be directed by Zack Snyder, soon they will have to find a composer to make the music for the film. Some may think that WB’s and Chris will have Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard to score “Superman” just like they did to the two Batman movies, but I hope they won’t go for them two guys again.

If they want to stay true to Superman, they need John Williams back for this gig. John Williams is Superman when it comes to music. Another composer would turn Superman fans away from seeing the movie. So I think they would get John Williams. John is still composing movies to this day, he’s been scoring for all those Harry Potter flicks. As long as he’s available, they’ll probably get him.

I really hope they get John. It would be a mistake if Chris forgets him. However, Warner Bros.’s does own the copyright to the Superman theme, the original Superman heirs the Siegels do not own it.

The opening Superman theme for the new movie won’t be exactly the same as the classic, John will probably write up a new version to get the current feel. I hope Zack and Chris will open the new Supes flick in space where the text is flying at ya on the screen. I’m sure they will stay true to that. Check the videos below as examples of what I’m talking about. Bryan Singer’s “Superman: Returns” opened the movie the same way. See how the opening theme intro is a little different? Chris and Zack will do it right, I’m sure they aren’t that stupid.

Thought: Leo Dicaprio could get the Superman role, don’t be surprised folks!

Well, I’ve heard that Brandon Routh and Tom Welling of “Smallville” TV show is out of the new Superman, they are definitely not doing it. Jon Hamm is rumored to be a possibility now. Don’t be surprised that Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan has their eye on Leo Dicaprio for Superman. For many years, comic book superhero films has tried to get Leo to play a super hero, but a deal never fell through for Leo to star in a superhero film. Could Leo actually be Clark Kent/Superman? “Inception” was such a huge hit, and keep in mind, “Inception” was a Warner Bros. movie too. I know I had a post before about Leo could possibly get a role for the new “Superman” movie, but I’m going to rewrite it again to remind you all. If Leo is not Superman, maybe he could get a different role, Leo could be Luthor or maybe Jor-El. Leo will definitely get a role for either the new “Superman” film or the next “Batman” film either way. Would everybody go see Superman, if Leo was Supes?

I’ve been reading articles online that the film makers are already casting for Superman. We’ll know who it is real soon.

Thought: In defense of Zack Snyder being picked as the next “Superman” director…

As expected, Zack Snyder is getting so much flak and getting a bit of a backlash for being chosen to direct, the next Superman, currently titled, “The Man of Steel”. I know I said before, I didn’t want Snyder to direct the film in a blog post, but I changed my mind, took it back and decided to go for a more positive direction. If you think about it, Zack is a perfect fit for the next Superman.

Why did Christopher Nolan and WB’s choose him? Well, like I said before, Zack has a strong knowledge with comics and superheroes. Mr. Nolan probably admired him for that. Plus, Zack probably knows the Superman character better than anybody. I think Zack Snyder is a wonderful film maker, he is not terrible that the haters out there are making him out to be. I thought “Watchmen” was an amazing film. I didn’t like it the first time I saw it in theater, but after watching it more than once, “Watchmen” is one incredible story. If any of you have seen the movie, “Watchmen”, it really did feel like a Superman movie. Maybe that’s why WB’s picked him. What are other reasons WB’s picked Zack? Probably because he’s good with action and storytelling. People accuse “Watchmen” of being a live action video game with all the slow motion special effects Zack is known to doing all the time. Maybe that’s why WB’s picked Zack, ’cause he’s good with slow motion and that’s what Superman would need in certain flying scenes.

People are so quick at judging that Zack is going to ruin the Superman franchise and destroy it, not gonna happen. Zack knows all about the Superman stories, he will stay true to the comics. Just give Zack a chance. I think he will make a beautiful Superman movie, and I honestly hope this one will get Oscar nominated if he’s lucky enough. Zack is not going to make the next Superman flick similar to “Watchmen” or “300” at all, so people need to relax.

I don’t think the next Superman flick will be a sequel, to “Superman: Returns”. Since General Zod will be the villain for the next one, sounds like the next one will be taken place either before or after “Superman II”. Zod was killed at the end of “Superman II”, and before the film, he was in the Phantom Zone on planet Krypton. Whatever Nolan and David Goyer has planned for that story, is gonna be very interesting.

There’s a lot of people out there that want Brandon Routh back as well. It wouldn’t surprise me at all, if WB’s and Chris Nolan decided to bring back, Brandon Routh. I personally don’t want Routh back as I would like someone else to get the opportunity to play Superman, but it don’t bother me at all if Routh does happen to come back. Zack won’t dissapoint. I believe in him and Christopher Nolan. Of course, the new Supes flick will definitely have plenty of CGI and action, but it will focus on the story mostly. People accuse Zack of making the next Superman movie full of 3 hours non stop action, but I don’t think he’s going to do that. Like Zack said himself in the Deadline article, he’s a huge fan of the character. He knows Superman stories are told with heart and feeling, Zack will tell the next film in that way just like he did with the “Watchmen” movie. “Watchmen” wasn’t all action, it was mostly story.

I’m looking forward to seeing Zack’s take on Superman. Zack is keeping quiet on the storyline ’cause Chris Nolan and Warner Brothers probably don’t want him talking about the storyline until the time is right. I’m very excited that they are quickly moving forward to the next Supes flick, and you bet your ass, I’ll go see this film in theater. Believe in Zack, trust him, he’ll make a great Superman movie.
