WWE.com reported this weekend, that they will make a major announcement for the company this coming Monday at noon. They will hold a live press conference, featuring Vince McMahon, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, The Rock and John Cena.
It is being speculated that the location for Wrestlemania 30 will be in New Orleans will be announced, or the WWE Network (the 24 hr. wrestling channel for cable TV) will be confirmed, or the announcement could be both.
While it would be cool if the announcement will be that they will finally drop the PG rating and return to TV-14, that’s probably not gonna be it. Like they always say, anything is possible in the WWE, so ya never know.
Maybe the announcement could even be another Hall of Fame induction too? If Scott Hall is going to make the Hall of Fame finally, that would be worthy of a press conference announcement, instead of announcing it on RAW.
So the Rock hasn’t been in an actual wrestling match since 2003. What was his previous wrestling match before his match against Cena at last night’s “Wrestlemania”? Rock’s previous match was against Bill Goldberg at “Backlash” ppv in 2003. That was when the Rock was a heel back then. Goldberg was the babyface. Shortly after the “Backlash” ppv, the Rock had a few more feuds with other wrestlers, then retired from WWE to focus on a full time movie acting career. Yes, it’s been a long time since the Rock wrestled in an actual match.
You know what? The Rock still has it, after all these years he’s been gone. As expected, the Rock vs. Cena was the best match of the night. I knew they were going to put on a helluva match as I’m sure everyone else knew it too. The Rock still can do the People’s Elbow and the Rock Bottom signature moves well, and it was good to finally see those moves again. Even if I don’t like John Cena, I’ll respect him just this one time, even he did a good job as well.
Who won the match? The Rock did it, of course. Miami is the Rock’s hometown, so of course, they were going to give them the win for that one reason. The Rock still has the talent after all these years. When most iconic wrestlers retire from the industry, a lot of people expect them to make comebacks. Well, the Rock never really retired. He knows that WWE is his home and where he belongs, so he came back to make the fans happy. He’s a pretty busy as hell guy going back and forth to his wrestling career to his movie career, so much respect for him.
Other thoughts on last night’s Wrestlemania? It was a pretty good ppv. Nothing that amazing, nothing all that special. It was just pretty good and entertaining. The three best matches of the night as I predicted were, “Undertaker vs. HHH – Hell in a Cell”, “CM Punk vs. Jericho”, and “Cena vs. Rock”. Those three matches had some really good wrestling.
I even liked the Divas tag team match with Kelly Kelly/Maria vs. Beth Phoenix/Eve. Those women actually wrestled, and it was entertaining. The matches that opened Wrestlemania weren’t that great, they were pretty quick and short matches so they can give the main event matches more time. Although, Randy Orton vs Kane was okay, and I’m glad they gave Kane the win. WWE has been making Kane looking ridiculous for years, and I’m happy Kane, actually won a Wrestlemania, finally.
No Brock Lesnar appearance, but who knows, I have a feeling Lesnar will return this year anyway. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s true. It could be Lesnar vs. the Rock, for next year’s ‘Mania.
It was a decent Wrestlemania, just wish, they gave Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan more wrestling time ’cause that match only lasted for a couple of seconds. It was the shortest match ever.
Hopefully next year’s ‘Mania, they do a better job. I’m glad last night’s ‘Mania, didn’t end with Cena winning again. Something different for a change.
In this video you can see HBK Shawn Michaels nervously waiting backstage, dressed in a tuxedo. Out comes Vince McMahon giving Shawn his Hall of Fame ring. As you can see they have a pretty long emotional hug.
This is a pretty powerful moment. This video really shows that Vince McMahon really loves what he does in the wrestling business. It really shows Vince McMahon really cares for his superstars that he works with. Yes, Vince and Shawn Michaels may have been long time enemies on the TV screen, but that’s just an act and a storyline. In reality, Vince and Shawn treat each other with the utmost respect. They are like brothers, a family.
Vince McMahon is a wrestling fan himself and he is a fan of all these superstars that he pays them for, he’s a fan just like all of us. While WWE is not for everyone, you still should treat Vince McMahon with respect, because this man works extremely hard to bring the WWE to where it is today.
Well tonight is the big night for wrestling fans all over the world. It really does feel like the Superbowl and the Oscars for the wrestling industry. While the card to this year’s Wrestlemania isn’t all that great, I wish it could have been better. It still feels like a regular RAW show, there are only two matches that feels like “Wrestlemania” – “Triple H vs. Undertaker” and “Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole”.
What am I going to be eating for a snack tonight? It’s not going to be healthy snacks tonight, I can tell you that right now. I’m going to be eating “Ben & Jerry’s – Mint Chocolate Chip” ice cream. I’ve been eating healthy for a full week straight, it don’t hurt to have fun once in a while.
For those who didn’t catch my predictions for Wrestlemania tonight, they are here in this video. I hope Wrestlemania don’t suck tonight. Cena better not be Champion again, although he probably will be, *sigh*.
Will Snooki’s appearance at Wrestlemania tomorrow night, will be her one time only appearance in WWE? Probably not. While Snooki is committed to Jersey Shore, she admits that the show won’t last forever, and she hopes to become a full time, WWE Diva, after.
If Snooki’s “Wrestlemania” appearance is a huge success and if she pulls in a lot of ppv buys, then yes, the WWE would probably want more Snooki appearances.
This isn’t the first time a TV star became a full time WWE Star, because “The Miz” used to be a TV star for the “Real World” on MTV.
Here is Tammy Sytch aka “Sunny” attending some Wrestlemania event. She talks about her WWE Hall of Fame induction. I haven’t seen any new pictures of her to see what she currently looks like, but she’s still looking pretty fucking hot! Will she be involved in any Wrestlemania matches this Sunday? Hopefully. I’d love to see her in action for one last time.
If you look closely in the background, you can see Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart, chatting with fans, holding his megaphone as usual.
Lay-Cool may seem like enemies against Trish Stratus and Jersey Shore’s “Snooki”, but in this photo, shows that they are actually good friends. Here they are, hanging at some bar. I can’t believe that dude in the background, had his back turned on them. If I was at that bar, you can betcha I would have asked for a photo with them or an autograph.
WWE is in a huge backlash just recently because they booked “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki, Nicole Polizzi, for a match at this year’s “Wrestlemania”. She’ll be in a triple threat tag team match with John Morrison and Trish Stratus vs. Lay-Cool tag team and Dolph Ziggler.
“Jersey Shore” is not everyone’s favorite show and neither am I, but in Snooki’s defense, I can understand why WWE would want her.
If you are a fan of Jersey Shore, you would know that Snooki is good at being a drama queen, she can be real bitchy and tough. WWE loves stuff like that. Plus, Snooki is a fighter. You may not believe it, but it’s true. If you watched the show Jersey Shore, Snooki has gotten into fights with other women, many times. She had many brutal catfights with Angelina and other women of Jersey Shore. She even punched, “The Situation” in the face once on the show.
The reason Snooki was booked for the match, is that, WWE wanted a woman that could be able to take out Lay-Cool. Lay-Cool which has Layla and Michelle McCool who have been dominate over the women at the Smackdown roster. WWE figures that Snooki would be a good woman to take out Lay-Cool easily, knowing how brutal Snooki fights on “Jersey Shore”. They needed a woman who is capable enough of taking out another woman in catfights and Snooki can.
It is no secret that celebrities have always been huge in “Wrestlemania” over the years. Lets look at the list of some celebrities that’s been a part of “Wrestlemania”: Donald Trump, Mickey Rourke, Pete Rose, Lawrence Taylor, Bart Gunn, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mike Tyson, Mr. T., William Shatner, Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, etc. All those celebrities I listed performed at “Wrestlemania” over the years.
This year is Snooki’s year. Snooki have been on a promotional tour for her book and to help promote, “Jersey Shore”. She’s been all over the place, on late night TV interviews, radio, etc. This is also a good opportunity to promote, “Jersey Shore”.
I have no problem with Snooki being a part of “Wrestlemania”, ’cause she deserves it, honestly. The “Jersey Shore” show is kind of like WWE and she looks like a WWE Diva, so why not? I think that match with her might be pretty entertaining.
So please try to respect WWE’s reason for having Snooki. I think it’s actually a good idea to have her on.
Last night’s RAW was such an amazing show, all the way through. It was better than the “Elimination Chamber” PPV. We’ve been getting a lot of superstar returns this year, really weird. The Rock came back. Booker T came back. Christian finally returned at the Chamber PPV. Kelly Kelly, the popular diva also returned. And most importantly…the Undertaker and Triple H were both revealed from the “2/21/11” videos. The Undertaker was seen in the “2/21/11” video but there was another figure wandering around in that video. Those two figures in the video were revealed on last night’s RAW. They were Triple H and the Undertaker, making their match together for Wrestlemania 27 official.
To be honest, I’m not really excited for Wrestlemania 27 this year, it seems like a regular RAW card. Triple H vs. the Undertaker is the only match worth looking forward to, that match is going to be amazing. Triple H and ‘Taker wrestled in matches many times before, they had a long history together. The first Wrestlemania match they had together was way back at Wrestlemania X-7.
I’m also looking forward to Jerry The King Lawler vs. Michael Cole. Of course, I’m predicting Michael Cole will win that match, with a little help of other heel wrestlers.
See the return of Triple H and Undertaker in this video. Listen to the crowd response. It’s crazy. They got a much powerful crowd reaction than the Rock. This is why I love WWE, folks! Gotta give the stars respect.
Now that the 2/21/11 video and the Wrestlemania guest host have been revealed, when will the Anonymous RAW GM ever get revealed?
Chris Jericho did an interview with Fanhouse, and he admitted he wants to return to WWE, as soon as possible. Jericho took another break from WWE, to concentrate on his tour with his metal band, Fozzy. Ever since he left, fans have suffered while he was gone and they’ve been begging him to return to WWE. Even WWE wants him back, badly. He says, Jericho and WWE are currently negotiating a deal.
Will Jericho make it in time for Wrestlemania? I don’t know. It might be too late to start up a storyline for him and I’m sure WWE already booked the Wrestlemania card behind the scenes. They could add a match for Jericho though.
I remember last year, Jericho had that feud with Mickey Rourke, the actor. I think making Jericho the RAW anonymous GM would be a perfect return storyline for him, but who knows. I miss Jericho too as he is one of my favorite performers also.
Yeah, I know, I talk a lot of wrestling in this site lately. Why? Because Wrestlemania is around the corner, so deal with it!
