How to become a great lead guitarist and improvisation…

Yeah, I know I talk a lot about improvisation as a guitarist. That’s the kind of guitarist I prefer to be. That’s the kind of guitar playing I like. If you notice, I give the most respect to musicians who are good at improvisation on a professional level. That’s why you see me supporting the greats such as Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Satriani, and Neil Young. There are a lot of other guitarists that I like but those few that I listed are my heroes and absolute favorite! You see, I’m not into shred guitar much such as Yngwie or Steve Vai. Those guys are great guitarists, don’t get me wrong — I’m more interested in guitar solos that are played with feeling and with heart. I don’t care about fast notes being played all over the place. Joe Satriani maybe a virtuoso shredder, true but at least he plays with feeling and heart. Joe Satriani is great at making his shred guitar sound musical and lyrical — that’s why I respect the Satch so much.

I’m not the best lead guitarist. In fact, I believe I’m okay at it but still have a lot of work to do. I am learning though but that’s the kind of lead guitarist I want to be. I can’t stand guitar solos that are written. I prefer guitar solos to be winged out. I like the jamming part of music and that’s the way it should be, in my opinion. Also you don’t need to play a great solo by playing a bunch of fast notes… you can still play a great solo with just a few notes like maybe 2 or 3 listen to certain Pink Floyd songs as perfect examples.

To become a better lead guitarist… all you need to learn the basic scales. Learn the minor/major pentatonic scales, the blues pentatonic scales, and learn the 7 modes. If you can get all that, then you’re set — that’s all you basically need. You don’t need to be a technically skilled lead guitarist just a few scales.

To be good with improvisation… the only way to be successful at that is knowing the name of the notes and memorizing the sounds in your head of each note. Determine the song the key is  in and memorize the sound that the key the song is in then you’re good to go. To make your lead guitar solos sound musical and tasteful… practice makes perfect. Jam with as many recordings as you can. Jam to your favorite songs, backing tracks or even better practice jamming with other musicians. Practicing to your own recorded playing helps too. You also need to listen to as many guitar solos as possible which is what I do.

I’ve listened to so much Led Zeppelin live albums and Jimmy Page plays each solo differently. For example, the solo to “Stairway” @ every live Led Zeppelin show is different. That’s the way improvisation works.

I’m really working on my improvisation skills. It’s getting better and improving, I think. It seems pretty easy and not that hard.

Improvisation and ear training is the most overlooked technique in music. There are so many lead guitarists in bands out there who don’t know anything about improv — they just write out the solos for their songs or when playing in a cover band they just play the same solo note for note.

That’s the kind of music I love to listen to mostly. I love music with improvised jams. Songs that can go on for as long as 10 min. – 30 min. on stage. Musicians claim that long guitar solos are boring and it bores the audience but I totally disagree. That’s what jamming is all about. Guys get together and play some tunes and they’ll play the same song until they drop. They don’t care. They just play whatever comes out of their minds and play with feeling.

That’s why when you go see a Neil Young & Crazy Horse concert his songs can go on for like 10 – 30 minutes on stage ’cause those guys like to jam. Why do these bands play for so long? It’s because they can’t help it. The songs will stop whenever they feel like stopping. They can never tell whenever the song is gonna end when performing on stage.

I’ve always played my acoustic shows like that. Listen to the “Time Bomb/Mr. Tough Guy” stuff — perfect example. Sometimes in gigs when I’m scheduled to play a 45 minute set… I go a little overtime ’cause of my improv. I know it’s kind of unprofessional but it can’t be helped. It’s part of jamming. That’s what I do. That’s the kind of band I want to have when ever I decide to get a band going. I want us to be a jamming kind of rock n’ roll band.

Improv music is great. Nobody really cares for it anymore but thankfully Neil Young tries to keep improv jamming alive when he released that album “Psychedelic Pill” with Crazy Horse.

If you know you can improvise well and have a good ear that’s when you’ll know that you’ll be able to call yourself an actual musician. That’s my goal.

Ambassador Stevens was “allegedly” rescued by Libyans… it’s just a big rumor…

There was a reader who tried commenting on my previous post and claimed that the photo I posted was a fake. He made claims that the man carrying Chris Stevens over his shoulder was just the Libyans finding him in the consulate building rushing him to the hospital.

After doing a little more research and doing a little googling, it was the Associated Press that first reported the story of Libyans rescuing Ambassador Stevens. The man that filmed that video had an interview with the Associated Press and told them everything.

Honestly, I think the so-called Chris Stevens rescue was just more of Hillary’s and Barack’s cover-ups just so they can make themselves look good. Don’t you think Obama sent out those people to pull out Stevens out of that building and Obama sent a camera man to video tape that whole thing? Also, I believe Obama paid the cameraman to lie to the Associated Press to report the story.

The guy carrying Chris Stevens over his shoulder — I really believe that photo was taken before the so-called rescue. That photo was just part of the Muslims parading Stevens all over town, and they wanted to humiliate Stevens by walking all over the place with his ass hanging out. In that rescue video I just saw, I didn’t see any guy sling Stevens over his shoulder — they just pulled him out of a room.

If you actually believe that rescue stuff was real… then you’re the one who is delusional and need to look up reputable sources. All the rescue stuff is just the Obama administration trying to protect themselves.

If there was a real rescue… they would bring out an actual ambulance out there right away or at least have military go out to the consulate. Honestly, I find the Stevens rescue a bunch of fake bullshit. Again, the Obama Administration staged the rescue to make themselves look good.

Nice try bone75 but you’re still not gonna get me, bro.

This is pretty much proof that the Obama Administration lied about the death of Ambassador Stevens…

The Obama Administration made claims that Ambassador Stevens was killed due to smoke inhalation at the Benghazi consulate on the day of Sept. 12, 2012. If this photo that you’re about to see isn’t good enough proof that Obama lied about Chris Stevens, then I don’t know what else it is. The photo in this link, here…  which looks to be Chris Stevens getting stripped naked by a group of men. He didn’t die of smoke inhalation at all. He was raped, sodomized and was probably beaten a lot until they murdered him later on.

If this pic gets out to Congress and if they confirm that is indeed Chris Stevens in the photo then that would be good enough to say goodbye to the entire Obama administration. Impeachment, and arrest. All of them. Not just Obama: Biden, Holder, Susan Rice, Hillary, etc.

I am 100% sure that Benghazi would be good enough to get the impeachment hearings rolling and possible imprisonment.

That photo was one of the many photos of that incident of Chris Stevens being attacked by a group of men. They’ve been going around the internet for a while now I believe. The man in the photo has got to be Chris. The hair is kind of similar and the face looks kind of familiar too even though you can’t see it that well.

Lets hope those photos make their way to Congress during the Benghazi hearings. If that man in the photo is confirmed to be Chris… then the Obama administration will be in deep shit. I know this photo was leaked sometime last year but this was the first time I’ve seen it. It just came up in my facebook newsfeed from one of the other political sites.

Happy 67th birthday Sly!!!

I’m a day late on this but yesterday was Sylvester Stallone’s birthday. Here I am posing for a photo with Sly’s star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. YES, I really went to Hollywood, C.A. a few years ago. Went to the Hollywood Blvd., went to see the Griffith Park Observatory, saw the Hollywood sign, and all kinds of fun stuff.

I didn’t get to meet Sly in person but seeing his star on the Walk of Fame is probably the closest I’ll ever get to him.

He really is a hero and inspiration to me.

While the man had his struggles and problems in his life… you can’t deny that he is a legend no matter what you think of him. He brought us the Rocky and Rambo movies — now the Expendables. He’s done other great movies such as “Cliffhanger”, “Cop Land”, “Cobra”, “Get Carter”, “Over the Top”, “Paradise Alley”, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, though, he has done some pretty bad films. I’m not a fan of all of them… I would probably hate half of them too such as garbage like “Driven”, “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot”, “Rhinestone”, “Daylight”, “The Specialist”, “Judge Dredd”, etc.

I’ll have to admit that the man is horrible at choosing films and the man himself even admits it. I think he’s being more careful choosing his upcoming films as you can tell. He’s been making his choices pretty wisely this time around so he doesn’t get himself into another career slump. It’s great to see Sly being a successful actor again.

I not only respect Sly for his movies… I respect him for his fitness, he’s a businessman (he owns parts of Planet Hollywood chains), an artist/painter, etc. He’s a pretty talented guy in everything he does.

I never got to meet Sly in person yet but I do have an autographed framed photo of Rocky IV that he signed and sent to me in the mail.

Also, I think Sly is heading toward retirement in film. As you can see, he’s slowing down on the acting. Writing scripts for other films and not doing as much films as he used to. His next movie is “Escape Plan” with Arnold.

Happy Birthday Sly, and thanks for the inspiration and entertainment you gave us over the years!

About that Islamic youtube video that everyone is talking about…

I did a little research today on that Muslim video that everyone was talking about — the video that may have sparked the Benghazi attacks. The film is called, “The Innocence of Muslims” which is made by a film maker named, Nakoula. The video is NOT pulled off of youtube; however, the film is still up  and I actually got around to watching it today. The film is still available to watch in America but banned in various countries overseas. The film is about 14 minutes long. It’s filmed like a B-movie with bad acting and bad directing styles. The reason it got the Muslim people upset ’cause it depicted that Prophet Muhammed may have been a womanizer, homosexual, a blood thirsty thug and other things.

I could see why a video like that would upset the Obama administration.

Seriously, watch the video yourself in youtube. I refuse to link it here. Just go to youtube and search, “The Innocence of Muslims” and it’ll come up.

I think it wanted to tell people that Islam isn’t a peaceful religion.

More on the possibility of Obama and Morsi teaming up to attack Benghazi embassy…

While it’s looking like that the Egyptian president Morsi maybe a huge possible suspect for Benghazi… this still doesn’t make Obama innocent in this case. How? Simply put Obama seems to be protecting him. I think the original goal with the Benghazi consulate attack is that President Morsi was originally going to kidnap Ambassador Stevens in exchange for “The Blind Sheik” but their whole mission went bad. After seeing that Obama has been aiding Egypt with F-16’s, money, and other things… you can start to see how they were working closely together for the Benghazi attacks as well. I’m starting to see it too.

Obama is just protecting the man the best he can. That’s why he sent Hillary and Susan Rice to lie at the hearings to protect Morsi. Why would Obama protect Morsi? To save his presidency, I would imagine.

This doesn’t make Obama innocent in this at all. If they’re gonna name Morsi a suspect… they should name Obama a suspect too. Where was Obama during the 7 hours the consulate building was getting destroyed? Obama was probably hanging with Morsi somewhere. Obama was definitely not in the Situation Room at the White House. Obama and Morsi obviously planned this attack together along with Hillary Clinton. Why do you think Hillary decided not to go for another term of Secretary of State?

If it’s proven to be true that Morsi was behind the Benghazi attacks… then President Obama is finished. It’ll be good enough for impeachment and possible imprisonment. Obama may have not been behind the attack sure but he still knew everything about it and tried to help cover it all up — that’s exactly how it’s gonna get Obama in deep trouble, no matter what you think of it.

Hopefully, we get to the bottom of Benghazi this summer. I’m not gonna move on from Benghazi until we get to the bottom of it.

Egyptian people trying to tell Obama to stop supporting terrorism in facebook…

Woah! This is very interesting! Even though, President Morsi of Egypt have been overthrown by military… the Egyptian people are not giving up their protests over President Obama. Check it out on his official facebook page… here…

His facebook page is being flooded by Egyptian people trying to get him to leave them alone and quit supporting terrorism.

What do you guys think of the Egyptian people? Are you going to call them a bunch of phonies and starting drama bullshit too? Are you going to tell them what they do is wrong? Even the Egyptians know how he is and it looks like they’re trying to end Obama’s presidency too.

I can’t blame Egypt for what they do. They love their country — they’re just as scared, and they want to be safe.

If Obama claims he cares for people in America and around the world, he should do what they ask and leave them alone but he won’t. Obama is all about power and greed. That’s all he cares about and that’s why he does stuff like this.

Why it’s important for bands & artists to be more personal than just your music…

There are a lot of bands & artists who mistakenly believe they need to leave their personal lives out of things. Well… not exactly. Being more personal with your life can actually be a good thing. You want to let the people know who you are. Your fans want to get to know you more than just your music. You don’t necessarily have to get too deep and too personal about your life… just simple things like express what you like to do outside of music. Your hobbies and interests.  There are plenty of famous artists out there who do the same thing. They like to talk about other things they like to do other than music.

Here are some perfect examples… Neil Young likes to collect old cars. Zakk Wylde likes to go hunting. Jimmy Page enjoys art & black magic kind of stuff. David Bowie enjoys art and he likes to spend time with family. Lars Ulrich is also a fan of art and he likes to watch movies. Kirk Hammett is a big collector of horror memorabilia. Ted Nugent is a gun collector and he likes to go hunting himself.

You get the idea right?

As a band and artist you also need to be more personal and direct with your fans. Like I previously stated before, you need to reply with everyone who writes to you. When you’re promoting your projects online — you need to sound more personal and direct. Instead of sounding like an automatic spam message… you need to write something that will get fans to respond.

That’s the key here. If you want to get the fans to like you — gotta be more personal and direct. Don’t just promote your music all the time. Interact with your fans & supporters.

Why do you think I post on a blog? Why do you think I’m honest on everything? It’s just my way of getting people to know me other than music and keeping people entertained. If you have a twitter account — don’t just use it to promote your musical projects. Say interesting stuff. Talk about the movies, politics and whatever the hell you freakin’ want! When I post online, I try to be careful not to get too deep into my personal life. I’ll just mostly talk about the things that I like to do other than music.

For example, most of you know that I love to watch movies. Being a huge movie buff is what I am other than a musician. I’m also a bodybuilder and weightlifter. Another favorite hobby of mine other than music is reading books and writing. Photography I like too.

I want to interact with people and get them to know who I am. I don’t want to be looked at as a spam bot when promoting my music, ya know? What I can’t stand are those bands that look like spam bots when promoting their shit.

There’s nothing wrong with getting personal about yourself. People eat this stuff up.

When promoting a gig you don’t want to be a spam bot by posting something like, “Venue here – price – time”, like a lot seem to do… you want to be more personal and direct about your show to get people interested… something like, “Hey guys, I have a show coming up at this (venue) here. Would you come out? Gonna be a great time!”. You get the idea, right?

Being a little personal about yourself is a great thing to do. I won’t talk about my sex life, my financial income, problems in life, and family stuff but the things I like to do are okay. Being more personal with people will help draw more people to your music.

Just something to keep in mind.

How some people mistakenly believe President Obama is an innocent man… just a few observations…

While there are a lot of people that know how Obama is and quite a bit of people hate him… there are also some who mistakenly believe he’s innocent. I’m not just talking democrats/liberals. There are people who registered in other parties and who aren’t even in any party who still believe Obama is innocent. No matter if Obama kills people with drones, attacks a US embassy in Libya, constantly lies, disrespects the Constitution, etc. — there will be those that will defend him on almost everything and will claim he has done nothing impeachable.

I can think of a few observations on why this is:

  • There are no facts or proof that come out of his crimes: Why do some people think he’s innocent over crimes such as Benghazi, Operation F&F, wiretapping/spying, etc? It’s because there are simply no hard evidence or proof that he was behind these things. Some of these guys look for facts. Some people believe that you are innocent until proven guilty and that’s why some believe that Obama is innocent.
  • They believe Obama’s lies: When these controversies hit the news… Obama is usually quick on responding to the American people to explain himself. He’s usually good at lying and covering himself — that’s another way how people mistakenly believe he’s innocent. He tries his best to make himself look innocent publicly. He controls people to believe in him still.
  • They’re helping to protect Obama: Some don’t want him to get impeached and get into all kinds of trouble — so they’re doing whatever it takes to help defend him. Some stay loyal to Obama and even some claim who don’t like him — they still seem to be protecting him too. That’s why I call these people sycophants ’cause that’s what they really are. Hope, I’m using that word right.
  • They’re just simply blind & ignorant: Even if he does turn out to be guilty of Benghazi and he was behind it all along — people are still going to think he didn’t deserve that. Even if he continues to arm Muslim terrorists — people are gonna still believe he had every right to do those things. No matter the bad things Obama has done in his presidency some are going to blindly think he did it for the “country” or will think he had nothing to do with it. Even if he decides to send more drones to kill US citizens overseas or signs more controversial laws that not many people will like. If he was proven to be an illegal gun-runner and hitman… people will still think he’s innocent.
  • They don’t really understand politics: I can’t tell you how many times I tried telling people about Obama’s actions and I’ve been told by many they don’t “argue politics”… they just concentrate on human rights bullshit such as gay marriage, immigration, abortion, the economy, etc. Most American people would rather focus on that stuff while violence and war crimes in other countries are mostly being ignored by the American people. A lot of liberals/democrats don’t really care about violence going on in Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, etc. This is partly why Benghazi gets ignored by the media and the people. We should be concerned more of violence overseas ’cause you never know when other countries could come over and drop nukes on us like North Korea has threatened us many times. This is why people still respect Obama ’cause they respect him for the human rights stuff while they ignore the violence and crimes overseas. If more people would get themselves educated about politics & government, we could live in a safer nation.

I’m sure there’s more but that’s basically it.

I really wish more Americans would wake up on President Obama. I really do. That includes Democrats/liberals… they need to wake up as well. I believe they will. Give it time.  Once Obama is finally exposed on Benghazi, Operation F&F, his birthplace, and all of this stuff… I think that’ll be good enough.

I know I write about Obama online a bit too much but I’m not gonna stop. Not gonna stop until my fingers fall off. Whenever Obama’s impeached and thrown in prison… that’s when I’ll stop and move on with my life. I know how people mistakenly believe Obama getting in trouble will not happen but it will happen. In fact, he’s already into a lot of trouble now.

I wish Obama will give himself up on Benghazi. Would be a smart thing to do. He knows what he did and where he’s been. He knows everything. Make no mistake about it.

Why I’m no longer accepting replies to my anti-Obama posts…

This is not a permanent thing. This is only for the time being. Why am I doing this?

Well for starters, I’m not gonna sit here and watch people defend Islamic terrorists which you guys have been clearly doing. Secondly, I’m not going to sit here and have people tell me to move on from serious tragic events such as the Benghazi attacks. I found those two things to be offensive to me and that’s what drove me to do this. Plus, defending Obama on everything is just simply annoyin’ as hell and it was giving me a headache.

The thing is, I don’t care what anyone says. You can sit there and point me out all kinds of ridiculous links that you call “facts” or “evidence”. I’m never gonna change my thoughts on President Obama.

You keep accusing me of starting negative bullshit over Obama? Well yeah. Of course I am. You expect me to be positive over someone who murders people, has an obsession with lying, starting war crimes and disrespects the Constitution? Seriously, screw you. I don’t care what you think. You’re the one who is being the big drama queen and being offensive.

You see, I’m not doing anything wrong. I have every right to be doing what I’m doing. You telling me what I’m doing is wrong is just you’re opinion. That’s one thing that pisses me off about political debating. People seem to hate you when your opinion is different than others. In my facebook page, I have a lot of people who have no problem with what I’m doing and I’ve been told that I’m doing a good job — staying at the top of things with my Obama postings. Yes, there are Obama defenders in my facebook as well. In my facebook, I too had a few others who told me what I was doing is wrong and is offensive by hating on Obama all the time — I even had several people delete/block me ’cause of it for the past week or so. Do you know what? I don’t give a fuck if people hate what I do.  It seems that people online only believe in you if you have similar political views. If people have different views, they’ll look at you like if you’re the bad guy or something.

My online Obama protests gets mixed reactions. It’s a love or hate kind of thing. The people who do enjoy what I’m doing are most likely Republicans. There are still too many Obama defenders to this day and it’s just sad, in my opinion. The things that I talk about Obama in this blog are pretty much the same material republicans talk about in facebook pages and other political blogs. All I’m doing is just helping to spread the word on here.

Trust me, there are a lot of people who hate Obama just as much as I do… but I don’t hate him ’cause others do… all of this is my decision and my own thoughts. I get unfairly accused of hating on Obama ’cause I read stuff on the internet but that’s not true either. I spent years and years of heavy research on the guy. I follow the news, watch all the elections, I’ve read books about Obama, and all this stuff.

The reason people still believe in Obama ’cause like I said before… people obsess with this human rights stuff… even Obama himself is not good with that stuff either. Obamacare is crap. So are his thoughts on energy, electricity and he wants to destroy the coal business. He’s friggin’ awful people. Wake the hell up. Stop defending the man ’cause that’s making you look like a complete asshole. I’ve never seen Obama defenders act so selfish ’cause they really are.

All the anti-Obama people wanna do is that we just want you to wake up and pay attention. Give it time. One day you’re gonna realize that we were right all along that Obama is nothing but a piece of garbage. He really needs impeachment and to be tried for treason, imprisonment. We can’t have a madman going around killing people and don’t be surprised if he decides to go after Edward Snowden next.

I’m not gonna quit what I’m doing guys. That’s the end of it. When will I bring back open discussion on President Obama? Whenever something is done about him. If they get the impeachment hearings rolling that’s when I’ll let the replies come back. An impeachment is coming for him and he will get exposed with Benghazi. As far as the topic of Muslims goes and whether or not Obama is one, I’ll have a topic on that tomorrow. I’ve been doing a lot of research on Islam as you can tell. It’s not really a great religion as you think.

As for why I still talk trash about Obama on 4th of July? Doesn’t matter what day it is or if it’s a Holiday. I’m still gonna let people know that we can’t have this man as President. I’m just like most. Scared of what he is about to do with our country and you should be too.
