Rant about celebrities that die of drugs…

So it turns out that Corey Monteith the star of the show, “Glee” (a show I don’t watch), turns out dead due to heroin and alcohol. Surprise, surprise. Sure enough, the entire internet will mourn him. My question is, why is it that male celebrities who die of drugs always get the support from the public while the women celebrities who die of drugs always get shitted on? It’s all hypocritical and bullshit. Pretty sexist too.

People mourn the deaths of male stars who die of drugs such as Heath Ledger and others. While women such as Amy Winehouse, Mindy McCready, and Whitney Houston always getting so much hate and disrespect.

I don’t mean to be an ass and don’t mean to do this so soon but I call things like it is.

I think both male and female celebrities should get respect when they die of drugs/alcohol. If you need more proof that the world and the media is messed up, here you go.

What happened to the tour bus, Mr. Dave Matthews???

Dave Matthews was on his way to a DMB concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania on a bicycle (yes, on a bicycle) but his bike broke down. Dave was in a hurry to get to the show so he had no choice but to try and get a ride with someone else. A young woman who is a die-hard fan picked him up and they brought him to the show. In return, Dave took the couple out to dinner, gave them front-row seats and backstage passes.

My question is and I’m sure everyone is wondering the same thing, why wasn’t Dave on the tour bus with the rest of his bandmates? I guess during the hot and summer weather, he wanted the exercise and fresh air by taking a long bicycle trip. He doesn’t keep things fancy and expensive like most rock stars. Looks like he just wants to keep things simple and normal.

I’m not much of a DMB fan anymore like I used to… thought I would share this funny story. Dave is a pretty rich guy. I’m sure he can get to all his shows either by tour bus or limo. I think he just wanted to go for a nice bike ride in the country area and enjoy the moment. I’m sure his band wouldn’t leave him. He just loves bike riding… kind of like me.

Even though Dave seems cool… he does have a strange and weird behavior.

Cool Video: The Ultimate Warrior returns to the WWE… sort of…

Is the Ultimate Warrior on his way back to WWE television? For the first time in history, Warrior, the wrestling legend is being featured in a WWE game. Vince McMahon and Warrior must have finally buried the hatchet. They used to never get along as they were having public feuds for a lot of years. WWE has been ignoring the Warrior for a long time and it’s about time, they finally give him the respect he deserves.

Even though I stopped watching WWE for a long while… I always respected the Warrior. He was a good wrestling character. His character really means something to a lot of people. I think he’s more serious than Hogan and Randy Savage, in my opinion. Warrior is a positive inspiration to everybody. Plus, he’s a good wrestler and mic worker.

Even though, Warrior is a retired wrestler… he still makes occasional appearances at various Indy wrestling events across the states. So I’m assuming all that is teasing his upcoming possible WWE return. He maybe back in a video game but will Warrior make a surprise appearance on RAW? All we can do is hope and pray! Cross your fingers! Warrior deserves one final match. The next Wrestlemania would be perfect to have his final match at. Who should Warrior have his final match against? I would say either Vince McMahon or CM Punk. Probably Vince McMahon would make a lot more sense so they can do an on TV feud and finish it in the ring.

Yeah, I stopped watching RAW. Lost my appreciation for it. Don’t like the direction it’s heading but if Warrior returns… that’s what makes me want to start watching again. I wouldn’t rule out a Warrior return just yet, though. This commercial in the video just might be a possibility that he maybe on his way back to WWE television.

I’m thinking about buying this video game myself. Warrior being made a playable character will be worth it alone.

To hell with the Trayvon Martin story… what about Malala Yousefzai?

I think the Malala Yousefzai story is more serious than the Trayvon Martin stuff. Don’t get me wrong, maybe Trayvon didn’t deserve it… maybe he really was an innocent kid who didn’t deserved to be killed but Malala didn’t deserve to be shot either. Malala didn’t have skittles or an Arizona iced tea. Want to know what she was shot for? She was shot for speaking out about education and women’s rights on an internet blog. She was shot in the head while riding on a school bus… on her way back home from school. Kind of similar to the Trayvon Martin story but Malala is more serious and more important, in my opinion. At least, Malala miraculously survived. I don’t see the media being all over the Malala story. Maybe in political and world news sites but not much everywhere else. Her story has been overshadowed by the Trayvon stuff. I have a whole lot of respect for Malala. She’s younger than Trayvon too. The Malala story deserves to be talked about more than anything else. People need to know what she has done and what she believed in. A lot of American women hail her as a hero and so do a lot of men.

In my opinion, people really need to move on from the Trayvon stuff. Just like bone said about Benghazi, tragedies happen all the time. You don’t see much of that stuff being reported in the news much. Kids shoot other kids. Adults kill other kids. People kill babies. It happens… people in all races too! I don’t mean to bring “race” into this again but trying to make a point so you’ll understand. Maybe the Trayvon/Zimmerman stuff shouldn’t have happened at all but that’s life. It ain’t the end of the world. Concentrate on the things that concern your own business and never mind about everyone else’s.

Wedding parties…

I went to my cousin’s wedding over the weekend. That’s why I didn’t post much last Saturday. I was at the wedding all day.

I enjoy wedding parties ’cause it’s fun to dance and fun to watch everyone else having a good time. A great cover band called, Total Soul, played the wedding. I’m not into cover bands too much. I’m mostly into bands who play original music only, but Total Soul was awesome. The thing with this band is that they are so energetic and tight on stage. The three singers sing really great and have impressive pipes. All of the musicians in this band are very talented. When they play cover songs, they don’t play them note for note. They improvise a lot which is part of why they earned my respect. Plus, this band loves people, they show it and they love to see people having a great time. We need more cover bands like this.

Yes, I love to dance. It’s one of my favorite things to do. I’m an okay dancer but would love to learn how to dance better. I want to like really learn how to dance like a pro. Maybe learn some breakdancing, lol. Learn how to do the MJ moonwalk or something.

Anyway, I was dancing with a couple of pretty looking ladies that I didn’t even know. It looks like they have boyfriends, of course but one thing though that weddings and dance parties aren’t about stealing other guys women. They almost always let you dance with their wife or girlfriend if you want to… they’re usually cool with it and there is no jealousy involved. One of the girls I was dancing with gave me a kiss so I gave her a kiss back so that was kind of cool, just a big kiss on the cheek — nothing major. It seems like every time I go out dancing at a live show, chances are, women are going to want to dance with me. I guess I know how to get the women going out on the dance floor, ha! This is making me becoming a lot more confident around the ladies and realizing they won’t bite at all.

Getting a lover/partner in your life is not just about the attractive looks, that stuff is secondary. As long as you’re a nice guy and treat the women like humans, they’ll be all over you before you know it, doesn’t matter the looks. On top of that, it’s making me realize that women don’t find me all that bad looking after all. I think I got it with the women. I just need to understand them and learn how to talk to them. I’m learning as you can tell.

I love dancing to live bands more than DJ’s. DJ’s are okay but live music is way more fun.

I’m thinking about starting or joining a cover band myself. If I’m having a tough time trying to find work elsewhere doing the cover band thing sounds like a nice idea. I know cover bands get paid pretty decent. If I’m having a tough time trying to find a real job — I’m beginning to realize that I was made to be a paying musician.

Am I really being too dark and controversial over my President Obama/Trayvon Martin stuff???

It seems that all my rants and thoughts about President Obama’s presidency and Trayvon Martin case are really offending people… and getting out there. This is why I didn’t really want to speak out on the Trayvon Martin stuff ’cause I knew people weren’t gonna like it. I really should have kept my thoughts to myself.

Sorry for being a bit too overboard on stuff but I’m just not afraid to be truthful, ya know? I’m not afraid to have a differences of opinions. A lot of people seem to be agreeing with each other over popular opinion, that’s just me though (aka “bandwagon jumpers”).

Sure enough… people are also gonna start calling you racist if you don’t agree with Obama’s presidency or if you don’t side with Trayvon. You see, I’m not racist. I respect and love black people. I once supported Lil Wayne and wished him well when he got hospitalized. I also mourned the deaths of Michael Clarke Duncan and the Springsteen sax player. There are so many talented musicians and movie actors who I respect who are black. I’ve hung out with people who were black over the years of my life. I’m not a racist.

Don’t forget what the black community did with their thoughts on the OJ Simpson trial back in the day.

The media and the people responding to news stories is full of hypocrisy, it’s unreal.

While my thoughts on Trayvon Martin and President Obama will remain the same… I’ll try to write things to make things better in the future. However, though, when it comes to being racist the black community can be just as racist toward the whites. Do you think it’s okay for them to call us, “cracka” or “whitey”? No. We don’t find it okay. They’re really starting to show their hatred toward the whites anyway over this Trayvon Martin case. It’s no different, ya know? Again… back and forth hypocrisy.

We all have a right to our own opinions. I have the right for mine. It seems that people lose respect for you and won’t like you anymore if they don’t agree with your thoughts in current events and politics. It’s just silly in my opinion but that’s the way the internet works, I guess. It’s the internet. People are crazy. There’s nothing wrong with having different views.

The reason I have differences of opinions a lot ’cause I have a very strong conservative view of things. I never see things the liberal kind of way. I don’t like the liberal part of politics but that’s just me. When controversial stuff happens in the news, I just put my opinion out there just like everyone else is doing. I should have the right for it. I never saw my posts being controversial. I view them as insightful information and would let people post their honest feedback, that’s it. It’s interesting how people react to this stuff.

I really am thinking about giving up political discussion and true crime stuff. That stuff is not giving me the respect I once had. I’m thinking about going back to movie reviews and music reviews full time. Feel free to post your thoughts, I’ll approve your comment.

Phish and drugs…

This news story, here,  has been making the rounds of facebook so I thought I would respond my thoughts to it. Phish had a three day concert at a venue called SPAC in Saratoga Springs. Phish is a well-known psychedelic jam band who kind of sounds similar to the Grateful Dead but a little different w/ Trey Anastasio being the band’s frontman and guitarist. Look like the police had a bit of fun that weekend and kept themselves busy. One concert goer was found dead and about 80 other people were arrested. Not just for pot but various of other hard drugs all over the place.

Yet, people in this generation are trying to understand why? Why do people do drugs at Phish shows? I’ve been to a couple of Phish shows myself and I know what it’s like. When you go to Phish shows there are drug addicts everywhere. They would do them outside of the venue and they would do them in the venue too.

This is nothing new with people doing drugs at rock concerts. This goes way back in the 60’s rock n’ roll era. Especially Woodstock ’69. Woodstock ’69 was all about the hard drugs and the hippie lifestyle. People were doing drugs at all rock band shows back in those days. People did drugs at Hendrix shows, Led Zeppelin shows, The Who, The Doors, Beatles, Cream, etc. Of course, when the Grateful Dead came around that’s when the drug culture in rock music became big and mainstream.

I wouldn’t really blame Phish on the drugs at concerts. That’s the way the hippie lifestyle is.

Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love the psychedelic era of rock n’ roll and I LOVE jam band music but I hate the hippie lifestyle. They may seem like nice people but honestly they’re a bunch of losers who don’t have much going on in their life, anways. All those people do is party hard.

I’m not a hard partier. I don’t do illegal drugs and don’t do alcohol but I have been to plenty of jam band shows so I know all about the hippie lifestyle. I do agree; however, that drugs at concerts are getting out of hand. The Dave Matthews Band have drug addicts at their gigs too. Why do fans of these jam bands wanna get stoned or tripped up on drugs at these concerts? Well, I think the obvious reason is that they think that’s part of the gigs, and they think that’s how they have fun so they can dance, and party with the other hippies. It’s all part of a social gathering.

Doing drugs at concerts is nothing new… and it’s not just the jam band genre. People do drugs at metal shows and even country concerts. The reason cops show up at jam band shows is because that’s where there will be a lot more action for them and a bigger payday for them.

Remember… don’t blame Phish… that’s just how the hippie lifestyle is. Yes, hippies still exist to this day and those people really bother me.

I can still go to a concert by not getting stoned or drunk or whatever, and still have a lot of fun!!! I can still dance like crazy by not doing any drugs. I’ll admit it though — I was drunk as hell at one Phish show but I don’t drink anymore.

About why past Presidents haven’t been arrested for past crimes…

When discussing President Obama’s actions in the office… a lot of people mistakenly believe nothing will happen to him simply because nothing happened to past presidents. Yes. Past presidents definitely have done some pretty evil stuff while in the oval office… that includes George Dubya. None of ’em have been arrested for killing people and starting war crimes without Congress’s authority. Why is this you ask? Simply because the Constitution protects the president from being arrested. The only way to get the president in trouble is that they must get impeached, tried for treason, and then they can get an arrest after. So a President can get arrested — they need to get removed from office first.

This is exactly how so many Presidents over the years think they can get away with doing so much bad stuff ’cause the Constitution protects them from getting arrested.  The reason George Dubya didn’t get impeached even though they tried a few times is ’cause much like Obama… Dubya is a liar and he covered up most of his crimes.

Richard Nixon came this close to getting the impeachment but he resigned right before the charges were brought up in the House. Why did he do that? Simply to avoid an arrest… that’s why. I think Barack would do the same when too much information gets out there out of Benghazi.

The thing you have to ask yourself is… if George Dubya was found guilty of any of his past crimes during his president reign… can he get arrested and thrown in prison now? Absolutely!

No matter what you think of Obama… we’re gonna get him for Benghazi. Obama tried his best to cover up the Benghazi attacks but so far he isn’t doing a good job. Some information is already starting to come out. They just need to get proven in Congress. Benghazi is a pretty serious tragedy and those 4 Americans deserve their justices.

The whole Obama administration needs to go. Like I said before… Hillary, Biden, Holder, Rice, etc. Get rid of all of those murdering scum bags. They all deserve harsh punishment. Hope all that is coming for them soon.

Happy Birthday Tom Hanks! His top 10 best films listed here!

Tom Hanks is another actor who I wish a happy birthday every year. Why? Because he’s my favorite and I respected his talent for years. I grew up watching his movies. Been watching his stuff ever since I was kid. While he is very talented, and amazing actor… his career has been going downhill a little, in my opinion. Throughout his entire career he has been choosing the best films but currently he has been choosing some pretty bad films. I never liked “The Da Vinci Code”, “Angels & Demons”, “Larry Crowne”, “The Ladykillers”, “Charlie Wilson’s War”, and I have no desire to see, “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”. I haven’t seen “Cloud Atlas” yet but I’m planning on renting it from Netflix soon. Tom Hanks started off doing comedy films in his earlier years (he actually got his acting start in the “Bosom Buddies” sitcom) and then when the 90’s came — he started doing serious dramas like, “Philadelphia”, “Forrest Gump”, “Saving Private Ryan”, etc.  He’s also a two time Oscar winner.

Here is a list of my favorite Tom Hanks films in no particular order:

  • Forrest Gump – Probably the best film he’s ever done. I can watch this one over and over and never get tired of it. Classic and a masterpiece!
  • The Green Mile – Who knew that he would star in a Stephen King adaptation? Another masterpiece of a film and the film where Michael Clarke Duncan first got recognized as an actor (RIP to him, btw).
  • Road To Perdition – It’s a mobster movie and Tom has never been into violent & gritty movies that much so it was kind of a surprise that he would do a film like this. This is one of my favorite films, though. I remember seeing this one in theater when it first came out too.
  • Toy Story 3 – Probably his best voice over work and it’s the best Toy Story film of the trilogy.
  • The Terminal – His collaboration with Steven Spielberg! An entertaining as hell movie and also one of his best roles.
  • Apollo 13 – An excellent space movie with an excellent cast! Another film you can watch repeatedly and never get tired of. Gotta love Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton in this film too!
  • Sleepless In Seattle – I’m not into romantic comedies that much but this is a very good one. Way better than the overrated, “You’ve Got Mail”.
  • Joe Versus The Volcano – Probably one of his best comedies in his earlier career. It’s a freakin’ great film! Love it!
  • BIG – Another comedy classic. You’re not a true Tom Hanks fan if you haven’t even seen this one! Everyone should have seen this film!
  • Splash – A Ron Howard classic about a man who falls in love with a mermaid. Also starring the late great John Candy (RIP) and a young Eugene Levy.

Well, there are my favorite films!

Lets hope Tom will get back to picking great movie roles again ’cause I believe the man has totally lost it. What happened to him?

Kev

Edit to add: Dammit, how can I leave out, “Cast Away”??? That is my favorite film too. Oh well.
