I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.

The reason for my flip flop on Scooby’s Workshop…

So you’ve seen me supporting Scooby’s Workshop, this guy name Scooby who has his own bodybuilding website and is popular in youtube with his workout lessons. I’ve started watching his videos, thought he was pretty insightful and pretty entertaining, but reading the website and his forum, it got me thinking that one of my blog readers is right that this guy is a fake and he’s the last guy you’d want to take advice from.

This guy claims he doesn’t workout at the gym. He also claims he doesn’ t use all these expensive machines and memberships to get  a ripped body, when you know that is somewhat a lie. Of course, I’m willing to bet he got that body by mostly working out at the gym. Not by that home stuff he’s doing on his websites and youtube page.

Yes, it is possible to get a ripped body at home by not going to the gym at all but you can get a better look and bigger built by going to the gym and being trained by a certified trainer.

Scoob’s not a certified trainer so how can you trust the guy? He also gets defensive on the negative comments he gets in youtube in his forums. Talking about having an ego problem. He puts himself out on the internet for this stuff ’cause I believe he just wants attention with other bodybuilders so he can be respected on his look, he doesn’t just want to help people.

His built is ok but needs a lot of work and it’s no where near to successful bodybuilders that you see in the magazines. He’s got a medium built, not a heavy weight built.

If you want to be into bodybuilding you have to deal with nasty critics. You will be made fun of if you put yourself out there in the bodybuilding world. Of course, people will accuse you of using steroids and of course, people will call you homosexual. It’s a regular thing that goes on with all bodybuilders in the fitness world.

Scooby’s Workshop were pretty good for a while, but then realizing how it’s not good and if you follow his advice, you’re not going to get a good look and get a huge built by learning from this guy.

Edit to add: Here’s his website to show you what I’m talking about…

BTW, everything I say here in this blog entry is my opinion, they aren’t really facts, it’ s how I see them, thank you.

People in bodybuilding forums are idiots…

I’ve read through a few bodybuilding forums online for a little bit. Like I said before every bodybuilder has their own way of teaching people things and giving people advice. When you read through bodybuilding forums online pretty much everyone of them think they are so smart and think they are so right on everything they say.

I don’t know why begginer bodybuilders go online and ask for other people bodybuilding tips from people they don’t even know and trust? Getting advice from amatuer bodybuilders that aren’t profesional trainers? You won’t get the look you want from these kind of people.

You would want to get advice and tips from bodybuilding resource that are true. I would suggest those bodybuilding magazines you get from your newstands store.

I think “Muscle and Fitness” magazine is the best bodybuilding resource you can get anywhere, that is where I learn most of my stuff from. Not Scooby’s Workshop  (I’m beggining to feel this guy is a joke) and I wouldn’t reccomend bodybuilding sites online.

A lot of bodybuilding resource online are mostly fake and don’t really work anyways. Your best bet to get into shape is to learn from magazines (like Flex magazine or M&F, whatever) or from other people with a lot of experience (the people you know well, that is).

I just like to learn the work outs, set up my own weekly program and do things my own way. I feel I am doing a good job. Feeling a little fit and feeling great already. Just don’t get bodybuilding advice from people in message forums. Get advice and tips from the real sources. That is all.

Report: Live Nation says Marilyn Manson doesn’t have Swine Flu…

Marilyn Manson announced on his official Facebook page saying that he has Swine flu. Turns out that Live Nation says he’s full of shit and doesn’t actually have the spreading pig disease.

More on it here:

I knew Manson was full of shit too. The guy’s an attention whore. Anybody that took this seriously and think he really had it is probably just as crazy as him.

Report: Jackson Browne vs. John McCain feud is settled, Replubican party admits they were wrong and offered apology to singer…

The Jackson Browne vs. John McCain feud is over with. Last year during the President election, the McCain campaign used “Running On Empty” without Browne’s permission. Browne filed lawsuit against McCain and the Republican party. They admitted they were wrong,  they apologized to Jackson Browne, and promised they will never use any of his songs in the future.

More on it here:

Respecting copyright is very important in the music industry. Music fans may not fully understand copyright yet, but even greedy politicians don’t even understand it.

If you own your music and if someone uses it without permission, you have the right to control it how you wish.

Report: Hugh Hefner reveals Diablo Cody is writing his biopic film, to be produced by Brian Grazer…

The Hef exclusively announced on his Twitter page that Diablo Cody could be the one writing the script for his upcoming biopic film that will be produced by Brian Grazer.

See The Hef’s twitter announcement here:

Diablo’s a great choice.

Since Brian Grazer is producing does this mean that Ron Howard will be directing?

Report: Genesis getting ready for Hall of Fame nomination voting, also, will Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins reunite?

Although Phil Collins isn’t able to drum anymore, there might be a possibility that Phil Collins and original frontman of Genesis, Peter Gabriel, might reunite at the Rock Hall of Fame, if the band gets inducted.

The band is already preparing for the nomination voting by releasing box sets of live material. Phil announced he has back problems and claims he isn’t able to drum anymore, so he was forced to give it up, but who knows, maybe he will drum at the Hall of Fame if he still has it?

The band is excited and they hope it happens.

From Billboard:

I’m sure they’ll make it in and get inducted, they deserve it. Genesis has always been great.

Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer” is their best album since “Ten”…

I also listened to Pearl Jam’s new record, “Backspacer” on my Ipod at the gym today as well. I also loved this album. Most of it’s fast and upbeat rock n’ roll all the way through, except there’s a few slow and mellow acoustic songs, and I even liked their slow songs on the disc.

Some are comparing this album to be more toward the “Ten” direction, but I disagree, I hear a lot of “Vs.” and “Vitalogy” in it.

Eddie is always a great singer, but what impressed me the most is the band playing their instruments. Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament all played extremely tight on the record. The sound is big, fat, and unique.

“Ten” will always be the best record they’ve ever done, but “Backspacer” is close behind it. Now I see why this album lands high in the Billboard even if this record doesn’t have a label. It was self released by the band themselves, they paid with their own money to get this album released.

It was a very good album. I enjoyed it, and you should check it out too.

Lunic’s “Love Thief” is the best local album I’ve ever heard in years!!!

I’ve heard a lot of local albums over the years. I’ve been a part of local music for a long long long time. Ever since the early 90’s, I’ve started checking out local bands, going to shows and buying albums off of bands, all that stuff. I’ve been doing that since then.

I’ve heard so many good local music albums over the years but honestly, Lunic’s “Love Thief” wipes them all away.

I bought and downloaded the album for my Ipod, and listened to it while I was working out at the gym today. The songwriting on the disc is probably the most powerful and the most emotional music I ever heard. It really is amazing stuff. Katie Paige is a great singer and listening to that violin in these songs is what did it. The rest of the band plays well.

I’ve supported a lot of local acts but really haven’t been much of a die hard fan of any local bands from the past until Lunic came around. I’m now a die hard fan of them.

I want to go out and see a show of Lunic’s so I can hear them live and meet the band. After hearing this album, they won’t be local for long I’m sure, they’ll move on quick to get signed to a record label ’cause they deserve a record deal more than any other band in this area.

Lunic is so different than any band around here, which is what I love about them. This is the best local band I’ve seen around in a long time. They take their music seriously and they are profesional.

Why aren’t other bands like them? Most bands around here are a bunch of three chorders rock bands that do nothing but get drunk and wasted at bar room gigs.

I don’t want Lunic to stay around here in the Capital District for long, I would love to see them move to an area where they can get a record contract. They certainly won’t get signed here so hope they move to L.A. or New York soon. Lunic is an amazing band. Love them.

Megan Fox and U2 on SNL last night…

I never really watch SNL anymore, but I had to watch the SNL 35th premiere last night ’cause my favorite celebrity woman, Megan Fox, was on last night. I kept thinking to myself that the new episode would be a stinker and a borefest, but it wasn’t. It was surprisingly entertaining and actually funny all the way through.

Meg did a good job hosting.

I’m glad she is appearing on TV more often. As for U2 they were pretty good as usual, but I thought it was kind of silly that Bono was singing through a glow in the dark microphone toward the end of it, and Bono was swinging back and forth on the mic like a kid at the playground.

Usually SNL ends with their “ending” theme with the SNL band, but they ended the show with U2 playing a third song while the credits were rolling. Maybe this is a new way of SNL ending their shows from now on, their musical guests will end the show, not the SNL band.

Today’s SNL is kind of getting better and improving. I like Seth Myers, Will Forte, and Andy Samberg the newer guys. I used to like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler but they’re no longer on the show although they still make occasional appearances.

I only watch SNL if there is a good host on, I don’t watch it every week.
