Will have a post coming up soon to defend Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” franchise…

This franchise, Rob Zombie’s take on “Halloween” is getting so much negative hate. You think when a director gets so much hate on how bad he makes movies, well, that’s just proving nothing of how really good he is. If he’s creating controversy, and getting people talking about his films, good or bad, he’s doing something right.

I will have a rant later today to defend Rob Zombie’s “Halloween”. I will make movie fans look like they don’t even know anything when it comes to Hollywood films.

Brock’s 5 Films A Week #5 – Memorial Day weekend edition…

Well it’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m sure you’re wondering what movies to check out for Memorial Day that are out on DVD/Blu Ray.

Here are 5 perfect ones…

1. Valkyrie

(In celebration of Memorial Day this is a WWII flick that was directed by Bryan Singer and starred Tom Cruise. This is about real events in WWII about plotting to kill Adolf Hitler which didn’t go so well…Col. Stauffenberg was actually a real person that tried to kill Hilter. Perfect Memorial Day movie right here…)

2. Paul Blart – Mall Cop

(I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I want to. I plan to pick up this DVD soon ’cause I think it looks like a great comedy. I like Kevin James as well. I used to watch King and Queens all the time. Doesn’t have anything to do with war but since this movie came out on DVD this week, I think it’s appropriate to post it here.)

3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

(Another flick I haven’t seen yet, but want to. I plan to buy the DVD of this movie soon also.)

4. Band of Brothers DVD set

(If you want something that has something to do with war on Memorial Day, the Band of Brothers DVD set is perfect for this. This is my favorite mini series. I love this boxset. Great TV series here.)

5. Schindler’s List

(Probably one of my top ten favorite movies ever made, it’s Spielberg’s best film ever made too. Such an amazing movie all the way through. I’m thinking about watching this movie tomorrow.)

Brock will soon change dieting habits in the near future…

I’ve been plotting out a dieting plan for the workout. I’ve been eating more spinach, vegetables, fish and healthy foods that bodybuilders would eat, but once I find the perfect diet for me, I will stop eating junky and fattening foods. What most bodybuilders usually do is that they eat nothing but healthy stuff all week, and then they just eat all the junk food they want on the weekends.

I know that’s what Sly does. I know all bodybuilders don’t want to eat healthy food their entire life, once in a while, they want to be like a kid and eat junk food like everyone else. I know this helps keep the muscles grow better and it keeps their abs too. Drinking nothing but water, and staying away from soda and other beverages for drinks. Stop eating your calories, and eat more high proteins/low carb stuff is what I’ve been looking after, doing more often.

How badily do I want this fit body? Yeah, really badily. I’m doing the best I can and working my ass off. I know some will think I’m delusional and living in a fantasy world here, but I’m about to prove people wrong. Doing this makes me feel proud and much happier. I am beggining to love this more than being a musician and songwriter.

I don’t have much workout equipment at home. Maybe a few dumbells, a workout ball, and that’s about it. I mostly do exercises that don’t require equipment. I plan on buying a bench press this summer and looking into it. Of course, will go to that Fitness Gym in Greenwich, hopefully tomorrow morning if it’s open on Memorial Day.

I’ve been doing fitness for a long time actually, I just haven’t been public about it until now. Yes, I will videotape myself  a videoblog working out at my local gym when I start going there, that way I can prove that this is really happening.

Report: Kevin Bacon mugged in a NYC Subway station…

Actor and musician, Kevin Bacon, was in a NY city subway station, while waiting for his train to show up, he was fooling around with his Blackberry. A thief walked by and snatched the Blackberry out of his hand, and ran off. Bacon tried to chase after him to get his Blackberry back, turns out the thief is a faster runner than Bacon is.

TMZ reports:

http://www.tmz.com/2009/05/24/bacon-stripped-actor-robbed-on-ny-subway/

In Hollywood movies, Bacon is able to hunt down criminals, but he isn’t able to do that in real life.

The comments in TMZ are wondering, why he used a Subway train to get where he needed to go in NYC when he has tons of money to go around in a limo or a taxi?

My guess is that Kevin doesn’t see himself as a celebrity. He sees himself as a guy doing work for film which he makes a living off of, but he doesn’t see himself as a famous person.

He’s not that type of guy where he has bodygaurds, hides in limos with dark windows, etc. He wants to be part of the normal, every day world type, if you know what I mean. That’s probably why he is easy to notice out in public in NYC.

In other words, he wants to be a real person. He’s not that ego celebrity type where they can’t be seen by the public.

Report: “Terminator Salvation” didn’t do well in the box office and it’s no surprise!!!

“Terminator Salvation” only made $43.0 million this Memorial Day weekend, while Ben Stiller’s sequel to “Night at the Museum” makes even more.

More on it here:

http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.reuters.com/quotmuseumquot-comedy-beats-quotterminatorquot-box-office-reuters

It’s no surprise to me. I guess the only reason that Terminator didn’t do well in the box office is that simply….no Arnold Schwarzenegger in the leading role.

If Arnold starred the leading role in this film throughout, then it would be a gaurunteed box office record breaking smash, no matter how bad the storyline is.

This is just proof that Terminator can not be successful without Arny. When Arny gets done being governor, lets hope he does the smart thing, get back into shape with his fat body, agree to star in “Terminator 5” so he can save the franchise.

I am agreeing with everyone else, that I can’t see a Terminator movie without Arny. I’ll still see “Terminator Salvation” this week sure, hopefully either tonight or tomorrow.

That is not me posting comments in the Times Union blogs…

There are people posting under my name in the Times Union blogs, pretty much all of them, really. If you can figure it out, I’m sure some of you may already know they are not me, but for those that can’t figure it out, the person’s writing style is not even close to mine although it tries.

I made it pretty clear that the only Times Union blog I read is the CRUMBS local music blog. I don’t go to the other ones.

So to you Times Union bloggers just to make sure you be aware if you see a Kev Brock commenting in  your blog comments, it is not me. The real Kev, that is me, wouldn’t have time to go through all the Times Union blogs commenting on every single blog post, since I’ve became an active person and getting busy in life.

Who ever is doing this is probably a reader of my blog here, a pathetic loser with a strange and uncomfortable obsession over me. I’m not upset over the impersonator ’cause I actually find it kind of funny and he’s doing a good job spreading the word on my blog. Sometimes bad promotion is great. Thanks for promoting my blog at the Times Union site and keep up the great work! I won’t bother trying to do anything to stop it ’cause I’ll just sit back and laugh.

“UFC Undisputed 2009” thoughts…

I played a few hours of the new “UFC Undisputed 2009” video game on the PS3 last night. I think it’s really cool and really fun. Probably one of the better fighting video games in a while. It has a lot of moves you need to learn which makes ’em challenging. It also has all the current UFC fighters including Brock Lesnar, Chuck Liddell, Shogun Rua, etc.

I’ve just been learning the moves through the tutorial and doing the practice modes, playing around the exhibition matches and stuff. I need to get good at the game first before I start the career mode. The video game is very similar of what you see on TV. It almost looks real.

I didn’t watch UFC 98 ppv last night, I thought about it, but then I decided not to since I get WWE ppv’s every month. Since I am now a big fan of UFC, I’m thinking about giving up on WWE for good, and support UFC instead. WWE is getting real bad again.

I’m starting to like UFC a lot more ’cause it’s real fighting and a real sport. UFC rules.

Report: Adam Lambert to be Paul Rodgers’s replacement for Queen?

Although, Paul Rodgers parted ways with Queen, it is no surprise to me that the band is going to keep going and look for a replacement singer. It seems that they have already found someone. Adam Lambert, the American Idol loser. Adam performed “We Are the Champions” with Queen along with Kris Allen on the Idol finale. Brian May seems to be impressed with Adam as well and already asked him to join the band. It seems that Adam is definitely game in joining up.

More on it here:

http://www.reuters.com/article/peopleNews/idUSTRE54L6LZ20090523

I never watched this season’s Idol, but after seeing Adam perform for the first time in my eyes, Adam is actually not that bad. Almost sounding close to Freddie Mercury, so I can see why Brian would want him.

I’m no Idol fan anymore, but this is a phenonemal performance. I love it!

Would I want an Idol star fronting one of the biggest rock bands in the world? I’m sure the die hard Queen fans are hating on this idea, but I’d say go for it. Give a young star an opportunity instead of all these old has beens!!!

Thought: Will WWE make “Denver Nuggets vs. Vince McMahon” into a RAW storyline????

Vince McMahon is in a real life feud against the Denver Nuggets, NBA baketball team owner, Stan Kroenke. It has something to do with their team landing a basketball game on the same day RAW is scheduled to have a show at the same arena. The Nuggets won the battle, and Vince agreed to take the RAW show else where. Of course, Vince is not happy about it and they continue to feud about it.

I think, they won’t battle it out in court, they’ll make it into a WWE storyline. I’m sure the WWE writers are all over this and I’m sure they are dying to make this feud into a storyline, it won’t surprise me if they will.

Vince and Stan probably won’t wrestle a match, but they’ll probably pick a wrestler to be on their side just like the Vince vs. The Donald feud a few years back. Vinnie Mac is scheduled to appear on RAW this Monday, I heard, and don’t be surprised if he goes on there saying a bunch of nasty stuff about Stan Kroenke and the Denver Nuggets.

Top Ten famous bands/artists that the Brock doesn’t like part II…

Here are more famous bands/artists in the music industry that I don’t really care for, yes, I have lots of ’em:

Prince – Sorry, Prince fans. I’m just not into him. Talented musician, sure, but the songs he writes, I can’t get into.

Bon Jovi – Overrated, overrated, overrated. His music makes me want to yawn.

Dragonforce – I think they are only popular ’cause they shred.

Toby Keith – I like country music and all, but I really hate this guy. His songs aren’t good at all.

Tim McGraw – Another overrated country artist, I don’t really like.

John Mayer – He’s a very talented guitar player, he’s a fantastic axe man…but, he’s a horrible singer and songwriter. Sorry.

Slipknot – The metal band that wears these scary looking masks. These guys are posers. And their music is downright crap.

Lenny Kravitz – “Are You Gonna Go My Way” was the only great album he did, but everything else after that? Blech….

Lilly Allen – I think her hit, “Smile” is actually a great tune, but when I picked up her album, it was the most boring music I ever heard. One hit wonder artist.

50 Cent – I’ve heard his music before. I’m not really into rap music all that much although I’m into very little. 50 Cent is a popular rap artist loved by all, but not with me.
