Guess I’ll do this now to get this all over with. Enjoy the last ten of my list. While I know some of you may complain like, why is this and that film not on the list, you may find it weird that I leave out some classics, but these films are “my” opinions. My lists will not be the same as every other top horror film lists you see in other film sites online, these are my opinions alone.
The rest of my top twenty here:
11. Rob Zombie’s “Halloween”
I’ve had worries that this film was going to suck. I’m like, oh no, Rob Zombie is going to ruin a great classic. But when I actually went out and saw it in theater, I FUCKING LOVED IT!!!! Zombie didn’t dissapoint at all, I loved the film all the way through. I’m now starting to watch this version on Halloween night a lot.

12. Stephen King’s “Carrie”
There’s a lot of Stephen King adapted films out there, but out of all the ones out there, I find “Carrie” to be an incredible film. Sissy Spacek’s role in this is very haunting and sends chills. Brian Depalma is a fine film maker too.

13. Freddy vs. Jason
I don’t think this is much of a horror film, it’s actually a mix between comedy and horror. There’s a lot of laughs in this. A fun flick. I really enjoyed this film and I hope a sequel is on the way.

14. Dead Silence
Forget the “Saw” series. The James Wan directed “Dead Silence” is even better, in my opinion. A film about a man who is solving a murder mystery who ever killed his wife, it ends up being linked to the ghost of a murdered ventriloquist. Sssshhhh…the ventriloquist dummies found in an old house seems to be alive and moving.

15. The Omen
The original version of “The Omen” starring Gregory Peck has always been one of my favorite horror films. The films a classic.

16. The Others
Another horror film with no blood and no murder, that is actually creepy. A film that stars Nicole Kidman. The film is shot low budget, the pacing is kind of slow but the film is real short, a little over an hour long, give it a rent and check it out. The film has a surprise ending that’ll get your head spinning.

17. The Hills Have Eyes remake
This film blew my mind. It’s pretty much a mix of action, horror and a gore fest all at once. It tells a story about a family going on vacation, they get lost, and now they are being stalked by strange evil people. This film is great.

18. A Nightmare on Elm St. – all of the series
I’m a big fan of Freddy. I not only love the first one, I love the rest of the Nightmare on Elm St. series as well. Freddy rules.

19. The Mothman Prophecies
A film that stars Richard Gere which is in my opinion one of the best films he’s ever starred in. It’s more of a thriller and horror type of film but still scary and kind of creepy. A great film to watch on Halloween night. I would reccomend this one.

20. Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers
I’m a fan of the Sleepaway Camp series. I always found the 2nd one to be the best one. Since the horror film industry is trying to reboot all the iconic horror films lately, I think the Sleepaway Camp series deserves a reboot too. I think it would be successful if they brought Angela Baker back played by a different actress of today. Hollywood should go for it.

It is now October already and Halloween night is just around the corner! They can be horror films from the past and even today’s horror films. These are the ones that I think that are the absolute best, a horror movie with perfection, with a small explanation under the title in italics, I’ll start off with the first ten.
On Halloween night, if you’re looking for some flicks to rent at your local video stores, check out these. I’m sure you’ve already seen some of them many times before though.
My Top Ten in order here:
1. Halloween (Carpenter version)
Simply a classic film. Best horror film ever made in my opinion nothing tops this. This is one of those films that you never get tired of watching and it is kind of scary everytime you see it too. I watch this every year on Halloween night.

2. The Exorcist
This film is amazing. I watch this one on Halloween night a lot too.

3. Night of the Living Dead (original Romero version)
Obviously the best zombie flick of the Romero Living Dead series. Definitely a perfect film to watch with all the lights off.

4. Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn
This is my favorite of the entire Evil Dead series. It has humor, gore and scary parts mixed into one. A perfect Halloween flick.

5. The Ring
A newer film, but this film is fantastic. I hated the Ring II, but the first one was very well made. The first one was actually creepy and scary as hell. There’s no gore and no murder in this film, that’s what a true horror movie is supposed to be.

6. Frailty
Bill Paxton wrote, directed and starred the leading role in. This film is dark and evil, about a couple kids living their life not realizing what their dad really was, a serial killer. I’d reccomend you see this one.

7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake
I love the remake more than the Tobe Hooper original, sorry. I find the remake to be much more scarier and more entertaining. This film is great!

8. Hellraiser
This is such a great movie, Hellbound rules. A character created by it’s own Clive Barker.

9. Hellbound: Hellraiser II
The sequel to Hellraiser is really great too. The first couple of Hellraiser movies were real good, but everything past IV are crap. The Hellraiser movies are screwed. No wonder they are planning a reboot now.

10. Wolf Creek
Simply one of the best new teen slasher flicks in a long long long time. I was really surprised by this film. I thought it would be no different than other teen slashers, but I was wrong, this one was different. Some of the scenes are actually disturbing and shocking. Another serial killer flick that is reccomended to see.

I’ll finish the other ten in the next week or so.

Harrison Ford says that George Lucas is in “thinking mode” for Indy 5. Lucas is serious about doing Indy 5 and continues to move forward. Ford speaks out on the status for Indy 5 with LA Times, giving hints that it’s definitely gonna happen and Ford seems to be game to continue to play Indy, but Ford refuses to do voice overs for an animated Indy film.
After Lucas doing “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated film, he now has an “Indiana Jones” animated film in the planning stages.
“Indy and the Crystal Skull” will be hitting DVD/Blu Ray Oct. 14th, so be on the lookout for that.

The more Indy, the better! I fucking love Indiana Jones. “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was amazing, I loved the film to death.
The film did leave open for another movie, bring it on George!

Famous soap opera star Yvonne Perry who currently stars in “One Life To Live” is visiting the Capital District this weekend to participate in the “Race for the Cure”, a thing about breast cancer. She is here to help young breast cancer survivors.

It is very rare that famous national celebrities come around here. That’s because this area isn’t New York City or Los Angeles.
It’s a good thing she’s doing though, she’s making a difference.
If anyone in the Capital District met her in public, got her autograph or a picture taken with her, feel free to tell your experience about meeting her here.

As much as we all hate OJ, you’ll have to admit that how his life turned out is sad. He went from being a football legend, to one of TV’s loved stars to starring in some movies like the Naked Gun and such, to being a criminal.
Now that OJ is finally in prison, I’m sure Hollywood is planning an OJ Simpson biopic film for the big screen to cover his life from his childhood to now. So I don’t see OJ promotion in the news going away just yet. You all know that Hollywood films will be all over this.
If there was an OJ biopic in the works, who should play him? I’m thinking Denzel Washington. He would be a perfect choice. And maybe Peter Berg could direct.
An OJ film could actually be a good one with the right script and cast. This will happen down the road believe me. An OJ film could be a good way for Fred and Kim Goldman to get paid the money that OJ himself owes them from the civil trial.

Oh my! This is absolutely shocking! While I’m sure some people out there had mixed opinions on whether SImpson was going to walk out on this case or be found guilty. I earlier predicted he was going to walk out, but my prediction was wrong. But I don’t care. I’m actually happy about it. This is fantastic news for America. I’m sure Fred and Kim Goldman are celebrating like kids, jumping up and down, drinking champagne.
The verdict of the OJ Simpson Vegas Robbery Trial has been read already. Guilty on all charges. HAHAHAHAHA! WOOT! Simpson is about 60 years old now, he gets life in prison.
Simpson’s co defendant Clarence Stewart has also been found guilty of all charges. Simpson’s attorney Yale Galanter continues to maintain Simpson’s innocence, he claims the jury was only interested in Mr. Simpson and should be honest and truthful.
Well, Mr. Galanter is delusional to think that because from the looks of things the jury was honest and truthful. All them audio tapes are good enough evidence to prove Simpson’s guilt.
Have a nice life in prison, Juice, and hope you rot a long slow painful death while there. America do not have to put up with Mr. Simpson anymore. WOO HOO! Simpson finally didn’t get away with something this time!

Does anybody feel a little weird about Springsteen doing the Superbowl this year? While I’m a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen’s music, I really don’t agree with Springsteen doing Superbowl half time. He’s too much of a legend and too huge of a star. Springsteen just had to jump at this opportunity before anyone else got it. He had plenty of huge shows in the past. I’m sure the Superbowl officials had plenty of acts on the list to perform in case Springsteen dropped out, but he’s in of course.
Give a different artist or band a chance at that opportunity.
I actually would rather see Metallica or Ac/Dc doing the Superbowl this year instead of Springsteen.
We’ve heard all of Springsteen’s music, he’s performed on TV too much too.
What about John Mellencamp, Phish, Pearl Jam, the Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, or Neil Young?
I like Springsteen, I feel he is a little too overrated, I’ve always said I ain’t much of a fan of the E Street Band, I’m more of a fan of Springsteen’s solo acoustic work more.
Give other artists a chance at this opportunity instead of having has beens that already had opportunities like this. Of course, the Superbowl always have legendary artists every year as a ratings ploy for TV.
