Thought: Top 5 actors that I think should play Roland Deschain of Gilead for “Dark Tower” film…

Ron Howard reportedly said he was going have a big name star to play Roland Deschain of Gilead for the live action, “Dark Tower” movie coming soon to the big screen. I’ve thought of 5 actors that could be perfect for the role.

Here they are!

  • Hugh Jackman – I mean, think about it. The reason I think Jackman would be perfect is because his Wolverine character was so much like Roland Deschain. Roland needs to be a bad ass tough guy like he was in the books, that’s what Wolverine was. Plus, Hugh Jackman has Roland’s look in the “Dark Tower” graphic novels.
  • Thomas Jane – Thomas Jane already played in two different Stephen King movies, Tom was in “Dreamcatcher” and, “The Mist”. Tom wouldn’t be a bad choice for Roland, ’cause he has this tough guy bad ass attitude as well!
  • Christian Bale – Many would disagree with this choice, I’m sure, but Bale wouldn’t make a bad Roland at all. Bale had this tough guy attitude when he played in Batman and “Terminator: Salvation”, which is what Roland needs, so Christian would be pretty decent!
  • Keifer Sutherland – Keifer’s hit show “24” is over and done with, I’m sure he’ll go back to movies full time again soon. I can see Keifer making one badass Roland. He might be able to pull it off.
  • Jackie Earle Haley – The “Watchmen” and “Nightmare on Elm St.” star could fit the Roland role as well. Jackie would be great.

Lets just hope Ron doesn’t get Tom Hanks or Russell Crowe for Roland. Ron and Tom Hanks worked together for so long over the years, I don’t think Hanks is needed for this one. I’m pretty sure Tom Hanks will get a role for “The Dark Tower” series, but not as Roland.

Cool Video: Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”…she’s my new obsession!

Have you ever had one of those moments, when you are introduced to an artist you never heard of before and you think to yourself, “Eh, she’s probably some pop artist?” Well I felt the same way when I first heard about Katy Perry. The more I listen to Katy’s music, the more her music grows on me and I begin to like it more. Now I’m a big Katy Perry fan.

The haters can say whatever they want about her, her music is really great. I really like this tune a lot. It’s got a great melody, good chorus. It’s actually pretty tight too. I can say a lot of things about this great song but maybe I’ll do that in another post another time. This is a beautiful song, like it or not.

I’m not into pop and commercial music too much, but Katy is one artist I can listen to. I don’t care if people think I’m weird for listening to her. I like whatever music I wanna like! I could probably cover this song myself on the guitar, I don’t think I will because listening to the lyrics, the song is definitely telling a story from a woman’s perspective, so no, I won’t cover it. I’ll just have fun listening to it. I wouldn’t call Katy Perry a guilty pleasure either ’cause I’m not ashamed of being a fan at all.

Cool Video: This is the best guitar instructional video on string bending ever!!!

I was looking through youtube, through guitar instructional stuff. Things to improve my bending technique’s on the electric guitar. I know how to bend strings on the guitar, it’s always been hard to do to get it right. Most every guitar instructors I’ve come across never really teach the string bending thing well. Most guitar instructors know how to string bend well, but they don’t teach it well. This guy, however, does teach it well. He makes string bending looks very easy and explains it easily. You can understand him when he teaches things. I can now bend strings on the guitar better than I have before because of this guy.

I want to concentrate on playing electric guitar a lot more. Focus on my chops and get better.

For you guitar players out there, enjoy this video. These techniques he’s showing you are pretty easy and I pretty much mastered most of them pretty quickly. I’m serious on learning how to play guitar solos and improvise better, I’m doing all I can to become a better and more professional guitarist.

Thought: Stephen King might have to act in the “Dark Tower” series, please read…

Now that the Dark Tower series is finally happening, Stephen King might have to have an acting role in the series. Why is this? It’s because in the last two Dark Tower novels, “Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah” and “Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower”, Stephen King wrote himself as a character in the last two books. Stephen King as a fictional character in the last two books was pretty much one of the leading characters. So yeah, Stephen might have to act as one of the leading roles toward the end of the Dark Tower movies or TV series when it comes to a close.

Yes, Stephen King does have acting experience, a lot of it really, so he is an actor too. As you know, Stephen had many cameos in his own films that were adapted from his books. He had quite a lengthy role in, “The Stand” TV Mini series movie when he played the character Teddy Weizak for a few episodes. He was also the minister in “Pet Sematary”, and he was Jordy Verill in the movie, “Creepshow”.

I’m sure Stephen would be up to playing himself for the last Dark Tower movies. They’re gonna need him for this. You would think why would Stephen write himself in the Dark Tower novels? Is it ego? Maybe…but there’s a better reason to make sense with the story on how Dark Tower was created. You’d have to read the books yourself ’cause I don’t want to spoil anything.

I also wonder who’s going to be playing Jake the little boy (hopefully not Justin Bieber), Eddie Dean, and Susannah, who are the other three main characters of the series. The casting choices will be interesting.

BREAKING NEWS: Mike Portnoy leaves Dream Theater!!!

Want some shocking news for the day? Well here it is. Long time Dream Theater drummer, Mike Portnoy, announced he left the band today. The reason? To focus on other band projects and move on to other opportunities. Mike originally wanted, Dream Theater, to take a break (not quit), so Mike can focus on his other projects for a while, but the other guys in Dream Theater weren’t up for it. The other guys in DT wanted to go on without him. So Mike accepted their decisions and decided to quit the band. Mike himself revealed the sad news today on facebook, twitter, and myspace.

It’s kind of strange how Mike wants to quit, Dream Theater, since he was the one that formed the band and named the band himself. I’m a big Dream Theater fan myself. I’m also pretty sad of this news. I understand why he wants to move on to other projects but man, Dream Theater is going to be different without him.

He’s making a big mistake, in my opinion. Dream Theater could lose more fans ’cause some of them don’t want to see a Dream Theater show without, Mike behind the drum kit. Mike Portnoy is, Dream Theater. The other guys in the band could easily be replaceable, but with Mike, no. Mike is the most recognizable member and pretty much the leader of the band. Not sure how Dream Theater would sound like with a different drummer. I’m sure am not going to see a Dream Theater concert, without Mike, that’s for sure. Dream Theater is a great band.

Mike is one of the best drummers in music and he constantly does other projects, so maybe he is getting too good for, Dream Theater. I bet when Dream Theater starts doing shows without Mike, they’ll be getting fans chanting, Mike Portnoy’s name, begging him to come back to the band.

Report: Lou Reed won’t let Susan Boyle cover “A Perfect Day”, because he’s no fan of her…

TMZ is the first to report that Susan Boyle was to perform on “America’s Got Talent” earlier this week, but she walked off the show in tears due to the fact that Lou Reed confronted her about not wanting her to perform a song he wrote called, “A Perfect Day”. It is a well known song he wrote with his legendary band, The Velvet Underground. She didn’t ask his permission to perform the song and he wouldn’t give permission for her to sing it because he simply is no fan of, Susan Boyle.

TMZ reports.

In reality, I don’t think Lou Reed would be this mean. He don’t seem like that type of guy. I think Lou himself will speak out on this story soon to clear everything up. Maybe he’ll say this story is bullshit and made up, but maybe he’ll say there is some truth to this, don’t know. He seems like a very friendly and gracious guy. He supported all musical acts as he has performed, “A Perfect Day”, with many other famous artists in the past.

I vote BULLSHIT on this story, that it’s not true at all. Lou Reed is a professional musician. He’s been playing music for way over 30 years, his whole life revolved around music. He does allow other artists to cover his songs as well. This news is tabloids, I’m pretty sure it is.

Btw, Lou Reed is a favorite artist of mine, always has been, loved him and the Velvet Underground. Wonderful songwriter.

BREAKING NEWS: Universal Studios will bring Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” to the big screen, NBC will bring it to the small screen on TV as well…

Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series has finally found it’s home studios to make the books into live action films, since JJ Abrams studio company, Bad Robot dropped out and returned the rights to, Stephen King. What big name studio have bought the rights to the “Dark Tower” series? Why, that’s none other than Universal Studios. The same studios where Ron Howard has been making movies through for years. Universal plans to make the “Dark Tower” series into a trilogy for the big screen, while NBC will make them into TV series as well.

Ron Howard, will be behind both the movies and the TV series of the “Dark Tower” as he is committed to direct the first “Dark Tower” movie for the big screen based on the first novel, “The Gunslinger”. How will they do both the movie and the TV series? The plan is, they will make the first Dark Tower movie for the big screen first, then they will make the second feature into a TV series. I guess that’s how they are going to do it, do the TV series in between the big screen sequels? Nice idea!

And of course, Howard and the crew plans on finding a big name star to play, Roland Deschain of Gilead.

Read the full article, here at Deadline.

Dayam, a full trilogy and then a TV series? That sounds like a lot of work! Now that the “Dark Tower” series is finally on it’s way, I’m sure everybody online will be naming their choices on who to play, Roland Deschain. I’ve been saying that Hugh Jackman should get the role and I still stand by it. Gerard Butler wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

Although, I have a bad feeling that Ron would probably get Russell Crowe, again. I’m sure we will find out who will play Roland soon.

I hope Ron makes these really good ’cause I absolutely love the “Dark Tower” books. I’ve read every single one of them. I’m pretty sure Ron will be working with, Stephen King, himself closely on this so Ron can stay true to the novels. It’s about time “Dark Tower” is being made. Hope they don’t mess it up. This is great news!

BREAKING NEWS: Snooki gets 2 days of community service and fined for $500 for being annoying on the beach…

“Jersey Shore” star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was in court today. She was arrested in Season Heights, New Jersey near the beach where she was partying hard. That day she was drinking from a beer bong that was filled with Coca-Cola soft drink, then she was taking body shots at a nearby bar. She was arrested for disorderly conduct. The judge in court today called her a Lindsay Lohan wannabe.

Read more on the story here.

Really? Is the judge serious? I don’t see how Snooki is a Lindsay Lohan wannabe. So what, Snooki had a few drinks on the beach and got wasted. At least, she wasn’t driving, you gotta give her the kudos for that. Snooki wasn’t doing illegal drugs that day. I don’t think she’s a coke addict like Lindsay Lohan. Just because Snooki is young and beautiful like Lindsay, doesn’t mean she’s a trainwreck like Lindsay.

Being the wealthy person Snooki is, she would think $500 is cheap and she would put the 2 days of community service behind her fast. I don’t see how this incident could be compared to Lindsay or Britney Spears. Snooki is not them.

Snooki didn’t really do anything criminal, she’s just had a few drinks and got crazy like any drunk would, so the judge comparing Snooki to Lindsay is wrong.

Cool Video: Wrestler Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys, visits Hulk Hogan in the hospital…

While stuck in the hospital Hulk Hogan got a surprise visit by somebody. Is it a blonde nurse with a big ass? Well, sort of. That blonde nurse with the big ass is actually Hulk’s fellow wrestling legend, Brian Knobbs, who was one of the members of the Nasty Boys tag team.

See the video, here.

Ouch, more evidence that this is suspiciously starting to look like a storyline for TNA wrestling.

RIP: Glenn Shadix 1952 – 2010

Former, “Beetlejuice” star, known for his famous role of Otho, the big guy with the black suit and red tie, Glenn Shadix, has died. He died at his Birmingham, Alabama home when he fell off his wheelchair and hit his head in the kitchen. He died of blunt force trauma to the head. He was made famous because of the hit scene in “Beetlejuice”, where he sings and dances to Harry Belafonte’s song “Day-O” with the Deetz family. He was also openly gay.

He not only starred in “Beetlejuice”, he had a handful of other movie roles. He also had a role in Stallone’s “Demolition Man”, he was in Stephen King’s “Sleepwalkers”, he was in Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” and had a role in Tim Burton’s “Planet of the Apes” remake. So yes, Glenn worked with Tim Burton more than once. I believe he was forced to retire from acting because of his health problems on a wheelchair.

RIP, Glenn, much respects to a talented and underrated actor.
