Netflix Pick (DVD): Justin Bieber “Never Say Never”…

So I just got done watching the Justin Bieber rockumentary “Never Say Never” on Netflix DVD rental. Yes, I actually watched it. Just out of curiosity. Did I like it? Yes I did. It was very interesting to me and the kid just got a little more respect, just by watching this.

The movie is about Justin Bieber’s life. It’s about how he got into music and it shows his life before his fame. Before he became a superstar, he was just a regular kid like all of us. It gave us insight of what he was like before his fame. The movie is basically a countdown, leading up to his legendary Madison Square Garden concert. Justin has been accused by many of being a fake, and this movie proves that he isn’t. He really does know how to sing and play instruments.

When I watched this movie, this movie wasn’t really aimed for a teen audience. This movie wants people of all ages to understand Justin Bieber better. They wanted to show what he did was real in the music business. I was really impressed with the movie, seriously.

Before hating on the kid, maybe you should watch it too, if you want to understand him better. I would never see him in concert or buy his records, I just wanted to see this film to get more insight on the kid. If you watch this movie, you would understand why he is so popular. It isn’t because of the hair or the looks, the movie shows that he knows how to draw people’s attention with his music.

It makes you wonder what this kid is going to be like when he’s a full grown adult. When he reaches my age, do you think he’ll still be doing pop music? I don’t think so, definitely not. I think he’ll grow out of it. Maybe he’ll become a rock singer, who knows.

I just wish people out there would quit hating on the kid just because he has a fanbase of teen girls. I mean, isn’t that how the fucking Beatles started out when they got their fame? They had tween girls after them too back in their time. I have no problem with Justin Bieber. He’s not annoying to me. He’s better than most kids who try to get fame in music. This was a pretty inspiring movie and the live performances were pretty exciting too. Give this film a chance and you would see why he’s such a big deal. It makes me wish I can get fame over youtube like this kid did. He got very lucky.

Report: Team Bigelow on the hunt to acquire rights for killing Osama Bin Laden movie…

Sony Pictures announced today that they are on the hunt to acquire U.S. and Canadian distribution rights for Kathryn Bigelow’s movie on killing, Osama Bin Laden.

I really liked, “The Hurt Locker”, but will this be a better movie? I hope so. Kathryn Bigelow is great at making war films, so hopefully this film will have a good script and a good cast. I hope they don’t get Jeremy Renner to star.

The question is, who will play Bin Laden in this movie? I’ll imagine they’ll get some unknown Arabic actor to play him. They won’t get a big name for Bin Laden for sure.

Cool Video: “The Muppets” teaser trailer hits the internets today…

“The Muppets” teaser trailer by Disney drops today. The movie actually looks pretty good. I actually liked the trailer. The “Green With Envy” thing is not the actual title of the movie. The movie is about this Hollywood couple going to L.A. to film a movie which is titled, “Green With Envy”. That’s the movie they film in the “Muppets” movie. When I first saw the trailer, I scratched my head at first but I gave it a few more viewings and it grew on me. The movie looks fun.

I’m probably gonna check this movie out, but to be honest, no Muppet movie will top “The Great Muppet Caper”. “The Great Muppet Caper” will always be the best Muppets movie. Period.

Cool Photo: Thoughts on Tom Hardy as Bane for “Dark Knight: Rises”…

First “Dark Knight: Rises” photo of Tom Hardy as Bane hits the internets yesterday. I must say that Tom Hardy looks badass. It’s awesome and creepy as hell too, the way Bane should be, scary. That’s just half of Bane’s image for the movie. I’m sure Warner Bros. will release the full picture of Tom Hardy as Bane soon.

Now we can expect a photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman very soon, hopefully, they’ll release it next week! I’m dying to see the new Catwoman suit!

Netflix Pick (DVD): Matchete

Last night, I watched the movie, “Matchete” directed by Robert Rodriguez, starring Danny Trejo, Robert Deniro, Jessica Alba and Steven Seagal. Yes, I finally saw it on Netflix DVD rental. I thought it was a great action movie. When you watch this film, it’ll make you feel like you’re watching a 70’s – 80’s low budget B movie flicks. It seemed like the film was shot with really old cameras. This movie is a revenge story about an illegal immigrant named, Machete Cortez, who is out to find a kidnapped girl. Machete is also a former Mexico federale. A drug lord which Steven Seagal plays, kills his own wife and child, now Matchete is stuck in a debate about illegal immigration.

While the plot and the content of this movie may seem silly to some, it does it’s best to try and stay old school. Rodriguez does a great job with the 70’s style. This is a very violent movie and there’s some nasty gore scenes as well. I can’t stand Jessica Alba, but I actually liked her in this movie. I liked Lindsay Lohan in this flick too.

This movie isn’t for everyone, some may find it pretty stupid, but try watching this film. Danny Trejo makes an awesome action star. I think you may even like it if you give it a chance. This is better than Rodriguez’s “Grindhouse” movies.

Film Review: Priest

Starring: Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Maggie Q

Directed by:  Scott Charles Stewart

Last Thursday afternoon, I went to see the new vampire movie, “Priest 3D”. I meant to post this review that Thursday evening, but I was not at home most of that evening. I went to a family member’s college graduation in Glens Falls and we ate dinner at a Japanese Restaurant after that. I also picked up, the new videogame, “L.A. Noire” for the PS3. I won’t start, “L.A. Noire” right away, I’ve just started the new “Mortal Kombat” game and want to play that for a while.

On with the review of “Priest 3D”…

Plot/synopsis: A post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, is set in an alternate world — one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

Yes, I know everyone is getting sick & tired of vampire movies. Hollywood have been giving us shit vampires movies lately. Was this one a crap vampire movie, you may ask? No. This was actually a really good one. I thought the writing was terrific, it told a wonderful vampire story. It was smart and intelligent. It was a mix of horror, sci-fi and action. The casting was also great.

Paul Bettany did a really good job, but I was more impressed with actress, Maggie Q. Maggie Q made the movie for what it is, in my opinion, she stole the whole show. She had this major action scene toward the end of the movie that was very exciting. The action scenes were a blast to watch, yes it is an action packed ride. My only disappointment of this film is that the film was too short. It was only a 90 minute film, and it could have been a good 2 hour film. Also, this film didn’t really need to be 3D.

I’m a huge fan of vampire fiction. I love to read vampire novels and watch vampire movies. Finally, Hollywood gives us a great vampire film. You should definitely check this one out.I’m already looking forward to the sequel.

Score for “Priest 3D” = **** ( 4 stars as in “excellent”)

Report: Stephen King wants Lilo to play the new Carrie…

The new “Carrie” remake has found it’s writer. MGM has hired play writer, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to pen the script for the new “Carrie” re-boot. Stephen King himself speaks to Entertainment Weekly about his opinion on the remake.

Stephen says he loves the original “Carrie” movie that was directed by Brian Depalma. He says if they could get Lindsay Lohan to star as the new Carrie White and get either David Lynch or David Cronenberg to direct it, he might like the remake.

Read his statement about the “Carrie” remake, here.

If you think Stephen loves all of his movies that were based on his books, then you are wrong. King is a very honest man. He isn’t afraid to say if one of his movies is really bad and he always hated Kubrick’s version of “The Shining” starring Jack Nicholson.

Another thing, the new “Carrie” remake needs to have a cameo appearance by Sissy Spacek herself. A “Carrie” remake could be good if made right. It needs a good script, good casting, and good directing.

Thought: About Arnold putting his film career on hold…

As soon as Arnold finished his governor run, he announced that he was returning to Hollywood full time. Starring in leading roles again. He announced, “The Governator” cartoon series & comic, he announced the horse movie, “Cry Macho”, and he announced that he will star as the Terminator again. Well, look like all that won’t be happening for a while.

It should be no surprise to everyone that Arnold getting his staffer pregnant could affect his upcoming movie comeback. I kind of saw it coming.

I’ve waited for over 7 years for Arnold to make his comeback to the movies, now we’ll have to wait even longer. Hopefully not too long.

I’m dying to see Arnold on the big screen again where he belongs. He’s my 2nd favorite action star behind Sly. Not only that he needs to get his personal life straightened out, he needs to wait a while until all this gossip settles down, then he’ll make his return to movies.

It really sucks though.

I usually don’t do celebrity gossip too much in this blog, I pay attention to Arnold’s story because of his movie career. This blog is about what’s going on in current news. I don’t care about gossip stories like divorce stories, pregnancies, marriages, etc. Leave that shit for TMZ and Perez Hilton, not on here.

Thought: Why the Governator kept a secret from the public for this long…

Arnold’s affair with the staffer happened 10 years ago or maybe a little over than that. It happened before his governor run. Why did he kept a secret for this long? Well the answer is very simple. If he revealed it earlier, it would have hurt his political career. He would have been impeached from his governor run a long time ago, if he was found out about it earlier. I’m sure Maria Shriver already knew about this affair after all this time, I’m willing to bet Arnold paid her to keep her quiet. Now that Arnie’s no longer the gov, this was a good time to make a public confession about it.

Will this hurt Arnie’s upcoming comeback to the movies? Maybe so, but I don’t think it will. People will still go see Arnie in the movies.

I still support Arnie ’cause I’ve always been a huge fan. Yes, cheating is bad and people make mistakes. That doesn’t make Arnie the badguy though. He’s a womanizer, always has been.

I don’t really do celebrity gossip and divorces in this site, I had to do this one because this divorce might affect his career. He could push back that “Cry Macho” movie because of this.

Netflix Pick (DVD): Blue Valentine

So I just finished watching, “Blue Valentine”, the romantic drama that stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. I’m not into romantic movies that much, but this one is worth checking out. It’s a pretty powerful and moving drama. It’s also a very realistic love story. It’s about a troubled couple on their way to a divorce. The couple spends some time alone in a hotel room to spend some romantic times together, but like always, they can’t stop fighting. During those scenes, the movie would show flashbacks on how they first fell in love for the first time. Ryan Gosling’s character, Dean, has a temper tantrum. Michelle William’s character, Cindy, was pretty good, but I was more impressed with Ryan’s acting. I believe Ryan Gosling was robbed of “Best Actor” from last year’s Oscars ’cause he was really brilliant in this role.

Be warned though, the fights between Michelle and Ryan in this movie can be pretty harsh. Lots of screaming and swearing. Of course, there are some enjoyable and lovable scenes to keep the audience watching. This is a movie that can relate to all couples out there.

I’ve never been married myself but would like to someday, though, when the right woman comes around. For some reason, I learned a lot about marriage & divorce just by watching this movie. This movie wasn’t meant to be for your entertainment at all. The film wants you to learn things. Teach what marriage is like. Watching a movie like this is making me a little scared of getting married someday in the future ’cause you never know how long it will last.

Maybe someday a wife & kids will happen for the Brock, I’m just in no rush for it now. It’ll happen when it wants to happen. Waiting for the right time. I’m just happy playing my guitar and making music. I’ll get a girlfriend one of these days, I just need to find the right one. Find the right match and looking for true love.

This was a very good flick. I don’t think I’ll watch this over & over, so I won’t bother buying it.
