Report: Jason Bourne 4 director found…film will be directed by Tony Gilroy…

Universal Pictures, has officially found their director for Jason Bourne 4. The new director is Tony Gilroy. Gilroy also did, “Duplicity”, and, “Michael Clayton”. Don’t count on Matt Damon coming back for Bourne 4 ’cause it looks like it won’t happen. Damon won’t do it without Paul Greengrass. So look like we’re gonna get a different actor for, Jason Bourne. It also sounds like they are re-booting the entire franchise as this article said they are going back to the beggining, not continuing from the last Bourne movie.

See the article here at, Deadline.

Could the franchise be successful without Matt Damon? To be honest with you, yes it could be successful easily. Hope they find a good actor for the next, Jason Bourne. I’m a big fan of the Jason Bourne stories. Huge fan. If James Bond and Jack Ryan can go through so many different actors, the same will happen with the Jason Bourne movies.

Who should be the next Jason Bourne? I hope it won’t be Jeremy Renner or Channing Tatum.

I would like Jason Ritter from NBC’s “The Event”, to be the new Bourne. That show, “The Event” is almost Bourne like, Jason Ritter might be a good pick.

Cool photo: John Landis directs Michael Jackson for the “Thriller” music video…

(photo credit: Quint of Aint It Cool News)

This photo is so freakin’ badass, that I just had to post it for myself. I gave credit to AICN for copyright respect. At the end of the Thriller video, I always thought that MJ’s yellow eyes was some kind of special effect. After seeing this photo, the yellow eyes were actually eye contacts. In that picture, that’s the young MJ when he was really cool, the red jacket and all. RIP, Michael Jackson.

Thought: Speaking of Wonder Woman, why does everyone want her on the big screen so bad?

Everyone wants Wonder Woman to get a new movie for the big screen. The internet has been talking about it for a long time. Wonder Woman has done TV shows and cartoons, but this character never had a movie on the big screen before. That is one of the reasons everyone wants her on the big screen, but there are more reasons. More reasons why? I am guessing the reasons why: 1) People are getting tired of male superheroes hogging the big screen, they all want a woman superhero for once 2) With more women getting into action movies these days, they want to see Wonder Woman do a lot of dangerous action scenes 3) A lot of men want to see something sexy. I think that could cover it.

If WB’s are still planning a Wonder Woman theaterical release film, they gotta be careful with this, so it won’t be popular with a lot of lesbian women ’cause it could happen, if they aren’t careful with the new Wonder Woman costume. The Wonder Woman movie should be enjoyable for all men and woman, no matter the orientation. Everyone wants this film to happen, but there are questions that need to be answered first. Will the writing of this movie suck? Will they have a good actress for the character? Will it be a hit movie?

I don’t think the first Wonder Woman movie will be as big as Batman and Superman of course, but Wonder Woman could possibly be a failure too. Who would want to see Rihanna or Beyonce as Wonder Woman or any other pop star? I like the Wonder Woman character, don’t get me wrong. I read her comics, saw the Lynda Carter TV series when I was a kid, yes. I don’t know how good the movie is going to be. It could be a boring CGI popcorn movie with bad writing. Don’t get your hopes up that this could be a good movie.

I care more about another Batman and Superman movie than Wonder Woman to be honest with you. If a Wonder Woman film happens, great, I’ll go check it out, but I won’t expecting it to be great unless I see a trailer first. There’s really nothing special about Wonder Woman possibly on her way to the big screen. Oh yeah, and Angelina Jolie wouldn’t be a good Wonder Woman. She’s too old for the role. I think the role was meant for an actress in her 20’s-30’s. Wonder Woman will probably do ok in the box office, but she won’t be able to top Superman and Batman. Sorry.

Thought: How to make Superman right…

I know I talk a lot about Superman, but that’s because he’s my favorite superhero. Always has been, ever since I was a child. I’ll never outgrow this character ’cause I’m always fascinated by this story. Some people worry that Christopher Nolan and who ever the new director is, will make the next Superman flick, a shit movie. Don’t worry folks. It’s not gonna happen. That’s why Warner Bros. hired Christopher Nolan as a mentor for Superman, because WB’s wants to make the next Superman movie, right, since Bryan Singer’s “Superman Returns” didn’t do that well. I am seeing that Chris Nolan wants to stay true to the Superman franchise, he wants to give what the Superman fans want.

What Superman fans want to see for the next movie is less Superman/Lois Lane romance. Fans want to see Superman save a lot of people in Metropolis. Fans wants to see the next movie action packed and exciting. They want to see a Superman movie with good acting and writing. Most importantly, everyone wants a different story and not being remake of “Superman: The Movie”.

Yes, I’m sure Nolan’s version of the film will open on the planet Krypton where Superman is from, and there will be scenes with Jor-El, and all that. Then we’ll get scenes in Smallville where Clark Kent grew up on but with Nolan’s version, we will for sure, get a different feel of those scenes. Nobody wants to see Lex Luthor as the main villain again, but I’m sorry folks, like I said many times, Luthor is needed. Luthor is an important part of the whole Superman story, so Nolan and David Goyer will probably write Luthor in the script. If they’re going to use Luthor again, they’ll need an actor with talent. Somebody that could possibly top Heath Ledger’s, Joker. That way Lex Luthor can be watchable for the next Supes flick.

I’ll tell you right now, folks, that Christopher Nolan will not fail this. I promise you, they’ll make the next Supes flick a really good movie that everyone will be happy about. You can see that Chris Nolan is being very careful with his choice of directors, that’s why he’s listing all these directors, to audition each one of them to see which director would be right. Could Robert Zemeckis be the right pick like everyone’s saying? Maybe, maybe not, but Zemeckis could also screw it up as well. I really want Chris Nolan to get Richard Donner back so hopefully Chris would get lucky to get him if he can.

Superman deserves to have a good movie again, that’s why they’re trying. What will the new Superman costume look like? I’m sure it will have the same red, blue and yellow, with the S symbol on the chest, of course, but I’m sure the suit will be different than Singer’s and Christopher Reeve’s version. Also, the next Supes movie will have to be a big special effects movie. There will be plenty of CGI like it or not. They need the special effects with Superman’s powers like flying, fast running, x-ray vision, heat vision, super breath, and all that stuff. It seems that Christopher Nolan knows about Superman more than anybody, so he will stay true to the character and from the comics. Nolan likes to stay true with things, just like he did with his Dark Knight flicks.

I don’t think the next movie will be taken place in our current time either. It’ll probably be taken place in the 30’s – 50’s, ’cause that’s how the original Superman was in the original comics. So I would think the new Supes flick would be around that time, not in 2010. So they might go the old fashion way with the new Superman costume. I’m not sure what the story is going to be for the next Supes flick, but we’ll know something very soon once a new director is hired. I sure can’t wait to see who the next director will be as it will be interesting. There is a reason that Chris Nolan is not directing the next film himself, ’cause even knows he wouldn’t be right for it. He’s just shipping in ideas and giving advice to WB’s like he’s hired to do. I am thinking that the next Supes flick will be the best Superman movie ever made. I think they will do a great job.

Report: Robert Zemeckis to return to directing live action movies, also rumoured to be on the list of “Superman” directors…

Robert Zemeckis, will finally direct a live action movie after all these years. The last movie Zemeckis did that was live action was obviously, “Cast Away” back in the year 2000. After that, all he’s been doing lately are animated films. His next live action film will be a film titled, “Timeless”, yes, another movie based on time travel. It is not Back to the Future part IV of course, but, “Timeless” is original and something different. The plot has not been revealed for “Timeless” yet, but we will hear something soon. The question you have to ask, is this another role for Tom Hanks in the lead? Don’t be surprised. It could be another role for Tom.

Zemeckis is also rumoured to be on the list of directors for Christopher Nolan’s, “Superman”. Zemeckis won’t be a bad choice for “Superman”. Look at what Zemeckis did to “Back to the Future” and “Roger Rabbit”. I think Zemeckis would make a good Superman movie.

See the article here at, Deadline.

Nice to finally see Zemeckis back at directing live action. I’m a big fan of Zemeckis’s work, he’s made many great flicks.

Thought: Will the Star Trek movies get re-released into 3-D????

It is no surprise to me that all 6 Star Wars movies will be getting re-released to theaters for 3-D. I’m sure it’s no surprise to everyone else either. My question is, will Paramount Pictures, do the same for the first 10 Star Trek films? The original Star Trek and the Next Generation movies? I think that will happen down the road. There’s a few Star Trek films that I think would be really cool in 3-D like, “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” for starters, that’s a big special effects movie. “The Wrath of Khan” and “The Voyage Home” would look great in 3-D as well. As for the Next Generation movies, I can see, “Generations”, “First Contact” and “Nemesis” looking cool in 3-D. I’m sure Paramount has this planned out. Star Trek in 3-D won’t happen right away but definitely sometime down the road.

Report: Darren Aronofsky added to the list of directors for Chris Nolan’s “Superman”…

“The Wrestler” and “Black Swan” director, Darren Aronofsky, has been added to the list of candidates to direct the next “Superman” movie. Collider, reports. I like this pick too. Why did Chris Nolan pick Aronofsky along with the other directors listed? While Aronofsky never did a superhero comic book movie before, I think Chris got interested in him because of his dramatic feel with, “The Wrestler”. That movie “The Wrestler”, did have a classic Christopher Reeve “Superman” feel, if you know what I mean. Darren mostly wrote and directed his own movies. He must be on board for this opportunity if he accepted to be on the list of candidates, so Darren must be a Superman fan. I remember Darren had plans to do a Robocop remake but those plans has been canceled.

I’m sure Chris will add a few more candidates of directors to the list. Who would I like to see get added?

Richard Donner, Robert Zemeckis, Jon Favreau, Gavin Hood (X: Men Origins “Wolverine” director), and Sam Raimi.

Film Review: “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole”…

Starring: Joel Edgerton, Hugo Weaving, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush

Directed by: Zack Snyder

Today, I went and saw the movie, “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” the latest film by Zack Snyder. Here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: Soren is a young barn owl who enjoys hearing stories from his father, Noctus. Soren is an adventurous owl who loves to travel. Suddenly, Soren and his brother Kludd, is kidnapped by an evil owl named, Metalbeak. The villains Metalbeak and Nyra has an army named, “The Pure Ones”, and they believe that the owls who are Tytos which, the Tytos are Soren and Kludd are good enough to be trained to join, “The Pure Ones” army. The Tytos owls must try their best not to join, “The Pure Ones”, so they form an army for themselves to fight them off.

Well, this is the first time I have seen a new movie, in theater that is 3D. Seriously. I haven’t seen a new movie in 3D yet. See a new film in 3D was interesting. It is a little different than seeing a regular movie on the big screen. The picture is more fancier and prettier looking. I’ve been interested in seeing this film for a long time because the story seemed interesting to me. Some of you may think that this film is for kids, but really, this movie wasn’t made for kids. The movie was too dark and violent for kids to see. Yes, there was violence and action throughout most of the movie.

The special effects were way cool, it seemed realistic and not as cartoonish. What I loved the most about the film was the story. It was a pretty intelligent story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. It kept you entertained throughout the film. In the film, you would see owls try to kill each other and rip each other apart, that’s how violent it is. When I was in the theater watching this, there wasn’t any kids at all in the audience. It wasn’t very packed in the theater I was in, but there maybe about several adults in there watching the film. I thought the characters were great, especially the main villain, Metalbeak, which he is a real badass. The cast did a good job with the voice overs and the scoring of the music was done right as well.

I’m not into animated flicks much. I don’t watch too many Disney movies or Pixar movies, but I was too impressed with, “Legends of the Guardians”. This is the same guy who did “300” and “Watchmen”. “Legends of the Guardians” was great because it really didn’t feel like a film for the whole family to watch. All these happy and fun Disney/Pixar flicks get boring and old after a while. “Legends of the Guardians” is a different animated movie than the rest of them. I’m glad they finally made an animated movie that kids won’t be able to see. I loved the whole movie all around, and so far, this is one of my favorite films I’ve seen all year. I was totally blown away by this film. Hopefully this film will land a nomination for “Best animated feature” for the next Oscars, ’cause I do see Oscar potential for this film here.

You should definitely check this movie out! Oh yeah, and before the movie opens, you will see a new Wiley E. Coyote and Road Runner “Looney Tunes” short in 3-D as well.

Score for “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” = **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)
