Film Review: Watchmen

Starring: Billy Crudup, Carla Cugino, Malin Akerman

Directed by: Zack Snyder:

Plot/synopsis: A former “Watchmen” superhero is murdered, the murder gets investigated by a new group of superheroes named the “Watchmen”. The film is set in 1985 in which they have something called the “Doomsday Clock” which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union 5 minutes before midnight. The adventure leads to a romance triangle between two superheros over a superhero woman named Silk Spectre (played by Carla Cugino), Silk is in a romance storyline with a man that glows bright blue, named, Dr. Manhatten (played and voiced by Billy Crudup). The “Watchmen” wants to save the world but this romance over Silk kind of gets in the middle of all of it.

Hmmmmmmm, after seeing this piece of crap, I am now wishing that Twentieth Century Fox destroyed this movie during that fued. I was pretty bored throughout the entire thing. Yes, the CGI graphics were pretty impressive but that still couldn’t save the movie. I was expecting a superhero action flick, we got a little bit of that, but it turned out to be a lame love story and soap opera.

This movie was fucking cheesy and goofy as hell. I didn’t like it. Bad writing, bad acting, the costumes of the superheroes looked pretty hilarious.

I thought this was one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. Please, wait for DVD on this one. I wanted an action packed superhero film which what I was expecting to see, but instead we get “Days of Our Lives” mixed in with superhero comics. The first half of the movie was all action packed, the second half, was a cheesy soap opera.

I now feel like a damn idiot pulling for Warner Bros. to win this feud. Although Fox won the feud, I wish they went ahead and destroyed this film because this film was a piece of garbage.

Ah well, it happens, you go to a movie and you end up not liking it at all. There are better movies coming out later this year, so I’m not worried about it. There is still, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, J.J. Abrams “Star Trek”, “Terminator: Salvation”, etc. All kinds of great movies coming out this year. Just don’t waste your money on “Watchmen”. Whatever you do.

Score for “Watchmen” = * poor (as in bad)

BREAKING NEWS: Bruce Willis fighting back lawsuit at “Stories about Joan” producers, action star sues for 8.7 million…

Actor Bruce Willis, was set to make his directorial debut and star the leading role for the film, “Three Stories About Joan”, but the actor never showed on set when filming was about to begin. Bruce Willis has been sued by the films producers claiming the actor ditched the project without notice.

This is no laughing matter for Bruce, he is fighting back with a countersuit. Slamming them with a $8.7 million lawsuit, claiming that they falsely had full financing to produce the project. Is this the reason Bruce left the project to begin with? Bruce claims the producers never set the financing to pay to get the film made, that they spent more than five weeks of hard work on pre-production of the film.

Get ’em, Bruce! This is what you get when you fuck with John McClane! Bring ’em down!

Sad news. Get well soon, Robin!

A great wonderful guy with a lot of heart! He’s one of the very few famous people that is a really good man. Never egostitical, always seem very nice and down to earth.

I hope Robin survives the surgery. It would be very tragic if he’s the next one to go. Speedy recovery Robin, all respects go out to Mork!

BREAKING NEWS: Leonardo Dicaprio to star the lead in “Inception”, a film by Christopher Nolan…

Leonardo Dicaprio is in final negotiations to star in “Inception”, a sci-fi action film written and will be directed by Christopher Nolan (director of “Batman: Begins”/”The Dark Knight”). The film, “Inception”, will be released through Warner Bros. pictures. The plot is kept under wraps and will not reveal what character Leo Dicaprio is playing at this time.

Variety Reports:

What a nice ploy for another box office hit. Will this film be another all star cast like most Christopher Nolan films are?

Who else do you think Nolan will get to star alongside Dicaprio?

My money is on Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, and maybe Maggie Gyllenhaal as the female lead?

The cast to this film maybe interesting.

Report: The Next Generation cast not in J.J. Abrams, “Star Trek”…

For those wondering if any of the “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, cast will appear in cameos in J.J. Abrams upcoming new “Star Trek” film, don’t get your hopes up. It’s not going to happen. You will not see Picard, Riker, Data, Geordi, Dr. Crusher, Worf, or Deanna Troi in the new film at all. The closest you’ll ever see them participate in the new “Star Trek” film, is read the prequel countdown comics, they are in there.

The only Trek cast member from the past that WILL have a role in the new “Star Trek” film is of course, no one other than Leonard Nimoy as the adult Spock. The old Spock is not just a cameo in the new film, J.J. said he’s in pretty much throughout the entire film.

Will “The Next Generation” cast ever have a new Star Trek film in the future? It’s very unlikely ’cause the actors in the cast has moved on to new careers. I don’t see them going back to Star Trek anytime soon. I’m sure “The Next Generation” cast will probably be at J.J. Abrams “Star Trek” premiere to see the film there.

Cool Video: New “Terminator: Salvation” trailer with a lot more footage…

Very cool, “Terminator: Salvation” trailer here. Looks amazing, I’m dying to see this flick now. You see, just because McG did the first two “Charlie’s Angels” movies, does not mean he will ruin Terminator. 🙂 I think McG is a fine film maker. I actually enjoy the two “Charlie’s Angels” flicks too.

Enjoy the new T-4 trailer here:

Definitely looking forward to this one.

Thanks to America for not supporting the Jonas Brothers movie…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Finally! The tweens gets bombed in America with the Jonas Brothers concert movie only making 12.7  million while “Madea Goes to Jail” did surprisingly well in the box office.

The Jonas Brothers suck. A fake tweeny band manufactured and put together by Disney.  I’m sick of these fictional and fake acts like Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, etc. getting the fame. The music industry is so fake as shit these days. It’s sad. The music industry is dead. To me, it doesn’t exist anymore. I stopped obsessing with the music industry ever since Kurt Cobain killed himself.

Report: Drew Barrymore to direct “Twilight Saga’s: Eclipse”?

Drew Barrymore is reportedly in talks with Summit Entertainment to direct the third Twilight movie, “Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. I would think she would even have a small role in the film too, if she did get signed to helm the film.

See the news here:

http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/02/twilight-news-d.html

Drew would be a perfect choice. She knows the teen and young generation genre more than anybody ’cause she’s starred in movies like those for most of her career. Drew has starred in horror films in the past before, so I think she would have no problem directing a “Twilight” movie. I’d say bring her on.
