Will the Oscars this year be a repeat of “#OscarsSoWhite” backlash??? I’d say yes!!!

You know very well that Idris Elba is gonna get snubbed for “Beasts of No Nation” and Michael B. Jordan will probably get snubbed for “Creed”. That way Al Sharpton, Obama and the media can call the Oscars racist. You can very well believe it’ll be the same thing this year. Since Chris Rock is hosting, he’s gonna make all kinds of jokes about it for sure.

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/la-et-mn-oscars-so-white-again-20160103-story.html

It’ll be the same old shit. Continuing to keep the country divided is what’s going on.

Critics are still hailing “Mad Max: Fury Road” as the best film of 2015… really???

I just re-watched “Mad Max: Fury Road” on BluRay for the second time to see if I can have a change of heart with the movie but unfortunately, my opinion still stands. “Mad Max: Fury Road” is not that great of a movie like everyone says it is. Some of the action scenes were fun but that’s all it is to me… an action movie. I think the main reason why I didn’t like it too much is ’cause of that lame storyline with the pregnant women in the movie. I also never cared for the villain, Immortan Joe which is a pretty dumb villain, in my opinion. Plus the film had a bit too much CGI and I still don’t like Tom Hardy as Mad Max. If Mel Gibson was still in it then the film would have definitely been more watchable. The script for “Fury Road” was horrible as well.

I wouldn’t say “Mad Max: Fury Road” is one of best films in 2015 ’cause it isn’t. I also wouldn’t be surprised that the film would win for Best Picture for the Oscars and it’s probably gonna end up winning Best Picture as well.

As for my choice for Best Film of the year in 2015??? Well, you’re gonna have to wait for my “Top 15 Best Movies” video for that which is coming soon!

The “Amy” documentary film is definitely worth watching for any music fan!

Last night, I finally got around to watching the “Amy” documentary. Ya know, the film that is based upon the jazz & pop singer, Amy Winehouse. I thought the film was very very good. It was very well made. Probably one of the best music documentaries I’ve seen in a long while. It was well filmed and well put together.

Of course, the film blames Blake Fielder-Civil on Amy’s death which I kind of disagree with. The film also accused him of getting Amy into drugs which I’m pretty sure is a false claim as well. The way I look at it is, I think Amy had a drug and alcohol problem long before she met Blake. Even though Blake is a junkie too, I don’t think he had anything to do with the passing of Amy. I think Amy did that to herself and her family just wants to place the blame on someone else which is typical when someone famous dies of drugs & alcohol.

Other than that, it was a great documentary. The film focuses on her life and career. I kind of wished the film concentrated on her music career instead of focusing on her problems, though.

The film was pretty dark, sad and enjoyable all at the same time. So if you decide to watch this someday better have a box of kleenex nearby ’cause the ending of this film will do it to you.

Check this film out. I’ve always been a fan of Amy Winehouse ’cause I love the “Back to Black” album. It’s a shame she left us too soon ’cause she was talented and a beautiful girl too.

There are actually several more movies I need to see of 2015…

There’s actually one more big screen movie I need to see before the year ends and that movie is “Joy” with Jennifer Lawrence. I’m planning on seeing that one next week sometime. That one looks interesting to me which is no surprise ’cause it’s a David O’ Russell movie and he always makes great movies: “The Fighter”, “Silver Linings Playbook”, “American Hustle”, etc.

There are also 4 movie rentals that I need to see of this year that are on my Netflix DVD Que… I still need to see: “Ant-Man”, the new “Vacation” movie, “Ricki and the Flash” and “The Man From Uncle”.

Once I see those 5 flicks then I’ll get to work on the Best of Movie List.

Radiohead releases their version of “Spectre” theme and it’s amazing… woah!!!

It looks  like Radiohead is about ready to make their return to the industry in 2016. Not only that the band dropped a new song today which is their version of the “Spectre” theme song that got rejected from the movie, they also started teasing a new album for 2016. So their next album will be their follow-up from their 2011 album, “The King of Limbs”. So it’s been about 5 years since Radiohead hasn’t release new music.

Well, here is Radiohead’s version of the “Spectre” theme song which is pretty amazing stuff. I wished they used this theme song for “Spectre” instead of Sam Smith’s “Writing on the Wall”. I hated Sam Smith’s song. Of course, they had to pick the Sam Smith one instead so they can fit into the pop culture, ya know? That’s the only reason they did it. Radiohead doesn’t fit into the pop culture which is why they were rejected. Radiohead isn’t much of a mainstream band which is good. Radiohead used to be a big mainstream band but not anymore, though.

Check out Radiohead’s version of “Spectre”. Thom’s voice sends chills like usual. I’ve always been a big Radiohead fan and looking forward to their next album.

In response to Nicolas Cage’s spending habits…

There’s no doubt that Nic Cage is a huge spender. He always has been for years but can you blame him?

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/12/22/nicolas-cage-compulsive-spender.html

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3371810/What-Dickens-Nicolas-Cage-sports-hat-cane-quirky-period-look-treating-son-Kale-El-shopping-trip-Glastonbury.html

There’s also no doubt that Nic Cage is one of the richest actors on the planet. That’s probably because he has made too many blockbuster movies over the years.

Look at all the hit movies he has made over the years:

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?id=nicolascage.htm

The biggest movies he has ever made in his career were: National Treasure franchise, The Rock, ConAir, The Croods, Gone In 60 Seconds, City of Angels and Face/Off were some of his biggest films. I’m sure he continues to make millions of dollars every minute. What is he going to do with all that money when he keeps having money coming in all the time, ya know? Let him have his fun.

Nic Cage is a great actor and talented. He’s also one of the most hardest working actors I’ve ever seen too ’cause the man is always working. I’ve always respected this guy and he’s a classy guy for returning that stolen dinosaur head too.

Lets see if Disney can make a good George Lucas-less “Indiana Jones” movie…

Since Disney was successful at making a good George Lucas-less “Star Wars” movie (George Lucas-less, meaning that Lucas had zero involvement), lets see if they can handle making a George Lucas-less “Indiana Jones” movie. Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg both expressed interest in returning and Spielberg wants to direct again. However though, now that Disney obviously owns Lucasfilm this means that Lucas will no longer be involved in the Indiana Jones franchise either. It’s a well-known fact that while George didn’t have anything to do with the direction, production and screenwriting of the Indiana Jones trilogy – Lucas still was involved in creating the story. Lucas was still in charge. Now that he’s no longer in charge of the Indy franchise, that means more creative freedom for the writers and more creative freedom for Spielberg/Ford. So I’m so glad that Lucas is no longer involved in the Indy franchise.

Could Disney do a good job with the Indy franchise? Could they make a good Indiana Jones movie again since “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” got so many negative reviews?

Yes, I definitely think it’s possible that the Indy franchise can step their game up again. I don’t think they’ll make another mistake like “Crystal Skull” again ’cause I’m sure they’ve learned their lessons.

They need to focus on less CGI and hopefully they don’t bring the sci-fi back either. They need to make the next Indy movie similar to Raiders, the first one which was a classic movie. They need to focus on archeology and history like they were intended to be. I’m not saying get rid of the action scenes ’cause action scenes is what the Indy movies were all about to begin with but they need to make the next Indy film more serious. Not make it a popcorn flick like “Crystal Skull” was, ya know? That’s the kind of Indy movie we all wanna see.

I’m a really big Indiana Jones fan but “Raiders” will always be the best film. I don’t think anything can top that movie no matter how many Indy films they try to make. “Temple of Doom” was a really great film too, though. Lets hope and pray that Spielberg doesn’t mess up the next Indy film at all.

I may have been wrong that Luke could have possibly been Kylo Ren but it was a good guess though and it was close enough. Even though Luke didn’t turn to the dark side yet, there is still a possible chance that could happen in Episode 8 & 9. Remember, Mark Hamill said in the past he wanted to turn Luke to the Dark Side. He pitched that idea to George once but of course, George wouldn’t go for it. George wanted Luke to be the hero but could the new Star Wars movies turn Luke into a bad guy in the future, though?

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Mark-Hamill-Actually-Pitched-An-Evil-Luke-Skywalker-Idea-J-J-Abrams-89617.html

I’m thinking the main plot idea for Episode 8 which will be directed by Rian Johnson, the story will be that Master Luke will train Rey (Daisy Ridley) to become a future Jedi knight. For now, they are looking at Master Luke to be the new Obi-Wan until something happens to Luke that made him turn to the Dark Side. I think something will happen to Luke in the new trilogy that will make him turn evil. Which will be an interesting idea if you think about it ’cause Mark Hamill is a phenomenal actor and he can always play a good badguy.

At the end of “The Force Awakens” when Rey walked up the steps and handed Luke the lightsaber, you immediately know what’s gonna happen in Episode 8. That’s my immediate thought that Luke is gonna train Rey to become a Jedi in the next one. I think that’s pretty obvious, I would say. That’s the idea of the new trilogy, the old cast passing the torch to a whole new cast.

Even though Han Solo maybe gone now, still though, not too worry fans. I still wouldn’t rule out a Han Solo appearance by Harrison Ford for the next two films. Could Han turn into a force ghost possibly? Some would mistakenly think that only Jedi’s are able to turn into a force ghost after their death but not really. If you do a little digging, there have been other Star Wars characters that have died who weren’t Jedi’s but later turned into a force ghost. That could happen to Han.

I was right about the Han Solo death ’cause that one didn’t surprise me at all ’cause I was predicting it for a long time now. The Han Solo death scene was a good scene, though.

Film Review: “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

Starring: Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac

Directed by JJ Abrams

So I finally saw, “The Force Awakens” and here is my review!

Plot/synopsis: Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a rag-tag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance.

A lot of people are calling this movie a remake or a homage to “Star Wars IV: A New Hope” (aka the first Star Wars movie) but I didn’t think it was. Sure both movies were kind of similar but most of “The Force Awakens” was pretty original from what I saw.

I always had faith in JJ that he’s gonna make a great Star Wars movie and he did just that. Everything about it was perfect. It felt like a Star Wars movie all the way. It’s something that George Lucas would have wanted for sure. JJ really knew what he was doing ’cause he himself is a Star Wars geek like the rest of us. Finally we have a great Star Wars movie and it was the best one of the whole series so far. All the action scenes were a blast to watch as expected. I was pretty much happy with everything in the movie. The writing was great. The musical score was great. Plus the acting of the cast was great too.

I loved the new cast. John Boyega is a pretty good actor. I loved Oscar Isaac’s role even though he wasn’t in it much. Oh man, I absolutely LOVE Daisy Ridley as I thought she was cute and gorgeous as hell! She’s one of the best female characters in Star Wars, in my opinion. I thought Domnhall Gleeson as General Hux was badass and so was Gwendoline Christie as Cpt. Phasma. I also loved Max Von Sydow’s role even though his appearance was kind of short. I thought Carrie Fisher did a brilliant job playing Leia again even though she hasn’t played that role in many years. She still kills it! It was great to see Carrie back on the big screen in a huge way!

I was happy with all of “The Force Awakens” except the only thing I wasn’t happy about is that we got very little of Luke. His role was like a few second cameo and he didn’t really say any lines but I’m sure we’ll get a LOT MORE Luke in Episode VIII. I think there’s a good chance that Luke will be the leading role in Episode VIII ’cause Luke’s appearance in “The Force Awakens” was just a re-introduction of the character, that’s all it was. We didn’t see Luke in action at all in this movie but definitely the next film we’ll see him swinging the lightsaber again.

What I was most impressed with the movie was the sound effects. The sound was pretty crazy. Especially when Kylo Ren takes out his lightsaber and the lightsaber sound is pretty loud in this movie. I expect “The Force Awakens” to win an Oscar for Best Sounds for sure.

As far as storylines go, I don’t wanna talk about so I don’t post any spoilers but as far Han Solo goes, that one didn’t surprise me ’cause I was predicting it a long while back. See? I toldjaso!

“The Force Awakens” was amazing. It’s definitely the best Star Wars movie so far but not so fast, folks! This is only the beginning of a new trilogy so there’s two more. Maybe VIII or IX will be better than VII. Who knows?

Score for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”: 5 out of 5 as in “Excellent”

Spoilers… a huge problem for big TV shows & movies? I’d say yes, absolutely!

It seems that in this day and age of internet technology, spoilers of big TV shows & movies getting leaked all over the place have become quite a problem. It’s hard to avoid spoilers no matter what you do. Even if you don’t read reviews and comments sections before you see the movie, it’s still hard to avoid spoilers ’cause of social networking & blogs.

The reason it’s hard to avoid spoilers and people are posting them everywhere is ’cause people are always discussing the story of the TV show or movie without spoiler warnings. Another reason it’s hard to avoid spoilers ’cause there are loser trolls out there that would post spoilers just to piss you off for fun. It’s mostly the trolls is the problem ’cause they are always posting spoilers just to piss people off.

While there is no way we can avoid spoilers since the internet is so big & wide, it is really sad though and we shouldn’t have to deal with this at all. There’s really nothing you can do about it.

Stuff like this usually happens when the big TV shows and huge movies comes out. TV shows like “The Walking Dead” and “Game of Thrones”. When it comes to movies, it usually happens with the big superhero movies like “The Avengers” and things like that. It happens with “Star Wars” too.

Spoilers are very hard to avoid these days. I hear people though ’cause no one likes knowing what happens before they haven’t even seen it.

People who enjoy posting spoilers just to piss people off for fun should feel ashamed of themselves though. People like that are pretty much losers with no lives anyway.

I’ve just seen “The Force Awakens” today and about to post a “non-spoiler” review later.
