Congrats to the band Tool, “Fear Inoculum” is no. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 beating out Taylor Swift…

Even after a long 13 year hiatus from the music business, people still haven’t forgotten about Tool after all these years. Tool’s “Fear Inoculum” finally comes out and it’s already the biggest selling album which isn’t surprising. The album somehow went up to no. 1 on the Billboard 200, beating out Taylor Swift’s new album, “Lover”.

This is impressive and amazing really. Nowadays, it’s still very difficult for any rock band to make it high on the Billboard 200 ’cause pop, country and rap are still a dominating industry. You can still see that rock and metal is still slowly trying to make a mainstream comeback.

It’s not surprising that “Fear Inoculum” would turn out to be a pretty big seller ’cause it’s a pretty great album. I love it. It’s their best one in their career for sure.

Tool is the greatest rock band going today, tell me I’m wrong???

Well this weekend at the gym, I listened to Tool’s two other albums “10,000 Days” and “Lateralus”. I’m blown away by both of them. I listened to “Undertow” and “Aenima” lots of times so I already know those two albums are great too. There is a reason why this band is so huge and popular they are now. There is a reason they have a huge buzz going ’cause they really are the greatest band in rock. I haven’t listened to their new album, “Fear Inoculum” yet but gonna get around to it this weekend.

The band Tool are the greatest songwriters in rock right now. Their riffs are really cool and I love Adam’s guitar tone for sure. Maynard James Keenan sings with a lot of heart and many singers in bands don’t sing with heart like that. When a rock band plays tight that helps get the singer going and Maynard is good like that. One thing I love about Maynard’s vocals is that he is very melodic. Whenever you hear him sing, you can hear him sing in your head and that’s a part of what makes Tool so great. Maynard is definitely one of the greatest singers in rock.

Yeah yeah yeah, the guys in the band Tool are all liberals and they’re Trump haters for sure but who cares. Their music is still freakin’ awesome. I don’t care about a band’s political views, it’s the music, ya know? I really love this band, always did. I used to have the “Undertow” and “Aenima” albums on CD back in high school but someone borrowed them and never gave them back so I re-bought those two albums on CD again. The rest of the Tool albums are digital on my Ipod.

Tool is an amazing band and I find myself listening to their albums a lot now that I got them. I keep going back to them… that’s the powerful thing about music. Tool definitely knows how to grab someone’s ear. I also love how the band don’t change their style of music too. Every album they do, their style is the same and I love that.

I haven’t heard “Fear Inoculum” yet but I just wanted to hear their previous albums first before the new one so I can get familiar with their music. I’m sure the new album is great and I’ll review that too after a few listens.

Steven Tyler explains what it’s like singing for Led Zeppelin for rehearsal… it was originally going to be for the Led Zep reunion tour that never happened…

After Led Zeppelin’s reunion show at O2 arena back in Dec. 10th of 2007, Led Zeppelin were planning a full reunion tour but Robert Plant didn’t want in on it. Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were all for a full reunion tour… and they were getting ready to go on without him so they started looking for singers. They rehearsed with two different singers: Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. After those two rehearsals, the tour never ended up happening ’cause Led Zeppelin kept getting a public backlash for continuing on without Robert and John Bonham.

Steven here goes on the Howard Stern show explaining how he got the Led Zeppelin rehearsal gig and what it’s like practicing with them. It’s a very cool story and Steven seems like a very nice man too.

Imagine what Led Zeppelin would have sounded like with Steven Tyler on lead vocals? Can you hear it? Steven singing all the Led Zep hits??? “Immigrant Song”, “Stairway”, “Heartbreaker”, “Dazed and Confused”, “Ramble On”, “Rock and Roll”, “Black Dog”, “No Quarter’, “Achilles Last Stand”, etc. Tyler would have nailed them all and killed it. When I listen to Aerosmith music, I’ve always thought Steven’s vocals reminded me of Robert a little bit. I hope somebody recorded that rehearsal with Steven and hope it gets released to the public someday. I’m sure everybody’s dying to hear what Steven sounds like singing Led Zep songs. I’m sure Myles Kennedy did a good job with them too.

It’s sad that a reunion tour never happened but if only Jimmy Page ever gets his solo album out then we can all enjoy that for now.

I can’t blame Steven for going for the rehearsal gig ’cause they’re fucking Led Zeppelin. How can you say no to that? You’ll be insane if you did!

Tool finally has change of heart with digital platforms and streaming services… this Friday you’ll finally be able to stream their albums on Spotify/Apple music and buy them from Itunes as well!!!

To all you Tool fans out there who are wondering if you got to try and go drive around to find previous Tool albums on CD, well you no longer have to wonder ’cause the band Tool just announced that they’ll be releasing their entire catalog to all digital services and streaming formats. Yes, that means you’ll be able to listen to Tool music on Spotify/Apple Music and you’ll even be able to buy the albums off of Itunes if you want to own them for yourself.

They’re releasing everything to digital including their new upcoming album “Fear Inoculum”  which won’t come out ’til August 30th but their previous 5 releases will be released to digital and streaming this Friday.

This is good news that Tool finally had a change of heart with digital releases ’cause they’ve been against it and avoided it like the plague for years until now. Glad that Tool finally joined the digital bandwagon which was long overdue.

I’m a huge fan myself. Used to listen to “Undertow” and “Aenima” a lot when I was a kid in high school. I used to bring my digital CD player and would listen to those albums a lot on the school bus years back. I didn’t have those albums on CD anymore so I re-bought them on CD from FYE not too long ago. Now I listen to them on my Ipod and both are pretty amazing albums. I’m gonna get “Lateralus, “10,000 Faces” and their EP “Opiate” soon.

Wonder what made them finally change their mind about digital releases? They probably got the hint that no one is buying CD’s anymore and they’re finally realizing it.

Soundgarden still wants to finish recording 7th studio album…

Soundgarden may never be able to play a live concert ever again but the band still hopes to finish their 7th album that they’ve been working on before Chris Cornell passed away. Before Chris Cornell committed suicide, the band were in the middle of recording their 7th album which would be the follow up to “King Animal” (released in 2012).

Cornell already recorded the vocals and guitar parts for the album; however, the songs don’t have a backup band and rhythm section yet. That’s what the band hopes to complete. They want to finish the album by recording additional guitar parts, bass lines and the drums so they can release the album someday in the future.

Only problem with that is that Kim Thayil doesn’t have the masters to Cornell’s demos. He has copies of the demos so he already knows what the songs sounds like but what he needs are the masters so they can overdub. Thayil says they are not in possession of the original masters and none of the guys in the band knows where they are.

https://loudwire.com/soundgarden-unfinished-album-chris-cornell-demos/

I wonder if they talked with Cornell’s wife, Vicky about the masters? I bet Chris has them stored and locked away somewhere in his home. Maybe Chris has them on a laptop or on a burnt CD? Either Vicky has the masters or maybe the record labels do.

Who’s ever is keeping them is making a mistake ’cause I think Chris would have wanted the final Soundgarden album to get made and released. That’s why he recorded the demos to begin with. Somebody does have the masters, though and is keeping them to himself or herself.

Who knows, though… just wait ’cause now that Thayil spoke out maybe who ever has the masters will give them to the band soon. Like they all say, never say never!

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth is now battling throat cancer, hope he gets speedy recovery…

DaveMustaine.jpg

Dave Mustaine announced on his instagram page that he is now battling throat cancer. This really sucks ’cause Dave is one of my favorite musicians, guitarist and singer of all time. I freakin’ love Megadeth and they’re one of my favorite bands.

Some of you may ask is throat cancer curable? Is throat cancer a death sentence? No… throat cancer is not a death sentence and it can be curable. Doing a little reading on throat cancer; however, it can be curable only if the malignant cells doesn’t spread beyond the neck and the head of the body. If the bad cells spreads at other parts of the body then your life could be over pretty soon.

I’m sure Dave’s throat cancer will have a negative affect on Dave’s singing so I’m sure he won’t be able to sing for a little while which is why they had to cancel most Megadeth shows.

Anyway, the band are at work in the studio for their 16th album and from what I’m seeing, I don’t think Dave recorded vocals for the new album yet but I’m sure he will record the vocals if his doctors give him the permission. I’m sure they’ll finish the new album this year.

Like everyone else, I’m hoping Dave fights this cancer hard and gets a speedy recovery. This should be easily cured, hopefully.

I am looking forward to the new album. I love Megadeth… have loved them for a very long time and I’m trying to collect all of their albums too.

Best wishes go out to Dave. He’s got this!

Tool… the greatest rock band going today? I would say so!!!

Yesterday, I just picked up two Tool albums: “Undertow” and “Aenima” from FYE. They had a small shelf of Tool albums and they were all on sale so I bought two of them… yes, on physical CD as you can see. Since Tool don’t have their music on Itunes, Spotify or anywhere online yet… I figure I would take advantage and get their music on CD. So I took these two albums home, ripped them into my Itunes and synced them onto my Ipod Touch.

I listened to “Undertow” and “Aenima” at the gym earlier today and I forgot how much of a masterpiece these two albums really are. Like the instagram post says, I used to have these albums when I was young, probably during high school so I re-bought them. F.Y.E. had a small shelf of Tool albums and put ’em all on sale ’cause I guess they’re getting ready for the new Tool album which is album no. 5. Tool only has 4 studio albums out so far and album no. 5 will be released at the end of August.

“Undertow” and “Aenima” are both pretty sick albums and I still remember every song on both of those albums ’cause I used to listen to them both so much. I used to be a massive Tool fan during high school and still am, I guess. I haven’t heard “Lateralus” and “10,000 Faces” yet but I’m planning on buying those albums soon before the new album comes out.

I gotta say though that Maynard james Keenan is definitely one of the best rock vocalists alive. That man definitely can sing and Adam Jones is a pretty sick guitarist too. I can’t wait for Album No. 5 in August and I’ll buy it when it comes out. These guys are avoiding online downloads of their music like the plague so you’ll have no choice but to buy their music on CD. The band didn’t release the title of the new album yet but I’m sure they will very soon. Can’t wait for their new record, though. Even though these guys avoid putting their music online, I’m sure their new record will sell well on CD even though no one buys CD’s anymore. I’m sure people will go out and buy the new Tool album on CD. I know I’m gonna get it.

Thanks to “Rambo: Last Blood” trailer, I can’t get the “Old Town Road” song out of my head… it’s actually a pretty killer song!!!

Whose singing voice is that you hear during the “Rambo: Last Blood” trailer? Well that is none other than Billy Ray Cyrus, the country music icon who mostly known for his hit “Achy Breaky Heart”!!!

When I heard the song on the trailer, I thought it was a new song by Billy Ray Cyrus but it ended up being a song by a rapper by the name of Lil Nas. He actually wrote the song but Billy Ray did some vocal parts to it. I’m not into rap and country that much but I do listen to some of that stuff. It is interesting how this song mixes both of these genres together.

I looked up Lil Nas on google to see if he has any albums out but unfortunately he doesn’t yet. It looks like he’s a pretty new artist but I’m sure he’ll have a full length album soon with this song on it. I don’t buy single songs, I’m a full album guy so when Lil Nas puts out an album with this song on it, I’ll buy it.

“Old Town Road” is a great song. Can’t get it out of my head and I just love the melody. The lyrics are very cool too. Because of “Rambo: Last Blood” trailer this song became an immediate hit pretty quickly which was cool to see. That means even more publicity for the film. If this song is going to be released for the “Rambo: Last Blood” movie soundtrack only, I’ll probably get the soundtrack instead when it comes out. It’s a really well-written song, though. I was impressed by it and Billy Ray’s vocals are killer too.

David Lee Roth crashes bachelor party in Las Vegas but the guys in the party had no idea who he was…

This video is some funny shit. David Lee Roth, the legendary frontman has his own podcast show and the people who works for his show walks by a room in a hotel with Van Halen music blasting from another room. The DLR Show staff went to tell David himself who was in his hotel room so he decided to come out and crash these guys party who were having a bachelor party.

As soon as the door opens, there were several drunk men in the hotel room and the guy who answered the door is wearing a black Harambe muscle tank. David introduced himself and said he heard Van Halen music and told the Harambe shirt guy, “We’re your neighbors”.

It’s funny ’cause these guys didn’t even know who David Lee Roth was? David probably thought they were going to be star struck but David didn’t get the response he wanted. Instead, the drunk men apologized for the loud noise. David was probably hoping for this response: “OH MY GOD, IT’S DAVID LEE ROTH FROM FUCKING VAN HALEN. COME ON IN AND PARTY WITH US, DUDE. HAVE A FEW BEERS WITH US!” Unfortunately, David didn’t get invited into the party and didn’t know who he was.

Some of you may ask… why would they play Van Halen music on a stereo and not know who David Lee Roth is? Well, they were probably playing music on an Ipod through a stereo system and they had it on shuffle.

Welcome to 2019, David. An era where music fans forgot that rock n’ roll existed. We’re in an era that is still dominated by pop, rap and country… nobody knows their rock n’ roll anymore. Gene Simmons is right that rock n’ roll is completely dead.

While David was laughing about it, deep down inside I’m sure he was pissed as fuck and offended. He was looking kinda pissed toward the end of the video. He’s probably thinking to himself: “Nobody knows who I am anymore?”

Yep, welcome to 2019 indeed. This is how music is right now.

Kiss makes 50 million for “End of the Road World” tour… now you know why legendary bands do farewell tours, right?

So why do bands and artists like Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, Elton John, Kiss, Garth Brooks, and many others do “farewell” tours to end their careers with??? The answer is quite simple really is ’cause they know that “farewell” tours make big money. This is why legendary bands & artists end their careers with a tour instead of a final album. Bands retire without releasing one more album ’cause nobody cares about albums anymore, right? People nowadays care about live concerts more.

https://t.co/8UgrObxpRF?fbclid=IwAR2yX6vag3EHt8ainhqxbRPqWoWxe72h-CsKcdwmG_U9LO97MNHddbieBgM

If you think these legendary bands and artists care about the fans, they don’t. They only care about the money, that’s it. These bands & artists have no reason to retire at all… they go out ’cause they want to make more money. They figure, “Why not call it quits, make a bunch of money and then enjoy the rest of our lives with it?”. That’s what it’s all about, really.

I remember reading interviews with Billy Joel and he criticized this. Billy Joel is definitely no fan of legendary bands & artists doing “retirement” tours. Billy said he would never do one and that’s good.

I really think “farewell tours” are pretty silly and nothing more but a big cash grab for sure. That’s all they are really.
