I am worried about Bret Michaels like everyone else…

Bret Michaels, being in the hospital again for something serious sent a huge scare through everyone in the world. Why should we worry about a famous person to someone we don’t even know? Not only that he’s a rock n’ roll legend and help changed the music industry in the 80’s, another reason people worry about him is all these rock star deaths we’ve been having as of late. People worry because he could be next.

Again I was never a fan of Poison but I respect them for the success they achieved. In my understanding, the band is still together. Bret still plays with Poison in occassional tours.

I wonder what this means for his appearance on “Celebrity Apprentice”? I’m sure the show still have a few more episodes of his to air, but Bret haven’t been fired from the show yet. So he’s still on. Not sure what NBC and Donald Trump would do with him for the show, but I’m sure we’ll hear something soon. It’s great to see The Donald actually cares for Bret, even though Trump gave Bret a difficult time on the show.

I hope Bret survives too. It’s a sad thing what he’s going through.

Report: Paul Weller slams Myspace and facebook…

Paul Weller, who is the former frontman of the UK punk rock band, The Jam, has slammed social networking sites, Myspace and Facebook.

Click here to read his words:

http://www.nme.com/news/paul-weller/50811

The user comments in that article, the NME readers, has responded. Slamming Paul Weller in return. It’s like music fans can’t take his opinion. The truth maybe harsh, but I’m gonna say, that the man actually brings up some valid points.

When he tells you to “go down to a pub” what he really means, is that he wants people to do more productive things than hang in social networking sites. When he says to the guy at his show, “This is myspace and you’re invading it”. That means that Paul Weller likes to keep his life private instead of making it public on social networking sites.

You’ll have to admit that Paul is so right on what he says. Back in the 50’s-80’s, there was no such thing as the internet. It made it hard to promote music back in the old days. Now it seems that the rich & famous, the mainstream of media fame has taken over social networking sites. Real celebrities and real bands using myspace/facebook (also twitter) to promote their careers. I’ll have to agree with him that myspace/facebook is what makes this world a sad society.

Report: Joni Mitchell thinks Bob Dylan is a fake…

Joni Mitchell, legendary folk singer, had a new interview with the L.A. Times. She spoke her thoughts on Bob Dylan. She claims that Bob Dylan is a fake. She thinks his music ripped off other artists. She also accuses him of plagiarism.

More on it here:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36741933/ns/entertainment-music/

Well that’s kind of weird. Considering that Joni Mitchell have performed with him many times as you see in the picture above. I bet she also covered many of his songs. Since she seems such a huge fan of Bob Dylan, why would she say this now after all these years?

Who knows. Maybe Bob Dylan himself will actually agree with her. Dylan is a pretty weird guy in interviews and has a weird sense of humor. I’m not much of a Bob Dylan fan ’cause his folk music always reminded me of Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams Sr. Maybe those are the artists she’s referring to where Dylan stole his ideas from.

It may be harsh, but I think she’s right on the money. Bob Dylan is overrated.

BREAKING NEWS: Bret Michaels hospitalized again…but this time it’s for Brain Hemorrhage…

Bret Michaels who is the current star of the TV reality series, “Celebrity Apprentice” has been rushed to the hospital again. This time he’s suffered a major brain hemorrhage and he’s having a rough time at the hospital. Things aren’t looking good for him.

I hope he lives and gets well soon. I wasn’t that big of a Poison fan, but I do respect Bret for his legacy.

I hate to predict death, but it looks like he maybe the next in line along with those dead rock stars. This would be a huge loss in the music industry if we lose him next.

Not A Cool Video: Mary J. Blige, Steve Vai, and Orianthi butchers “Stairway to Heaven”…

I like Steve Vai and Orianthi, and all. Both are amazing guitarists, but why would they go on Idol to cover “Stairway” with Mary J. Blige? I know they’re trying to be cool by covering Led Zeppelin, but this cover version is such an embarrassment, it makes me want to vomit all over the place. Did Simon Cowell actually enjoy this? This is such a nightmare performance. I know Mary J. Blige is trying to be rock n’ roll, but she doesn’t fit the genre. Sorry, Mary J., go back to R&B where you belong. She’s getting a pretty big backlash for covering this song too. What were Jimmy Page and Robert Plant thinking when they gave her the permission to cover it? Wow, this is terrible.

Report: Courtney Love drops her Courtney Love staged name…

Courtney Love is dead, according to the Hole rocker. Courtney recently dropped her “Love” nickname, and went back to her real birth name, Courtney Michelle Harrison. The reason she changed it? Well because she is sick of talking about Kurt Cobain and claims she doesn’t need that name for the rest of her life.

More on it here:

http://music-mix.ew.com/2010/04/21/courtney-love-name-change/

Well, people can change their name all they want but it doesn’t stop the fact that they will always be the same person. Just like Courtney will always be the same bitch she always has been. She’s a stupid bitch who suffers delusions of grandeur big time.

Report: Iceland volcanoes forces Metallica to travel by bus just like the good old Cliff Burton days…

A lot of people maybe having travelling difficulties over seas because of the European, Icelandic volcanoe eruption…but even the legendary Metallica is having difficulties. The volcanic ash cloud forces Metallica to travel to concerts by bus instead of by plane. Metallica haven’t travelled by bus on tour in such a long time. The last time they did that was way back in the Cliff Burton days, which the legendary bass player got killed in a bus wreck.

Kirk Hammett admits it feels weird and different, because the buses are so much better today then they were in the past. He also admits, travelling by bus is bringing back memories of Cliff Burton’s death. They go back to remembering that horrific bus crash that day.

Billboard reports:

It’s amazing to me that these guys still love Cliff and how they’re still grieving for him to this day. Sad.

Reunited Soundgarden performs the Soundbox nightclub in Seattle…

The reunited Seattle grunge band, Soundgarden, performed their first gig at the Soundbox nightclub in Seattle since getting back together. Listening to audio clips of the gig through Youtube, I’m absolutely fucking blown away. The band still HAS IT. That same tight energy they always had. Except, Soundgarden is meaner, stronger, and tighter than they ever were before. I think their tight energy comes from Matt Cameron’s impressive drumming skills. Cameron is a monster drummer just listen to him. I think Matt Cameron playing in Pearl Jam just made him a better drummer for Soundgarden, indeed.

When playing in a band, in my opinion, I think the drums is the most important instrument out of all instruments. If you want to be a tight and aggressive band, the drums do that for ya. It doesn’t matter how well you play guitar or bass, it’s the drums that makes all musicians play better.

Soundgarden is scheduled to play one gig so far, which is headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago. This isn’t the first time Soundgarden played Lollapalooza as the band played Perry Ferrell’s festival many times. I remember one year Lollapalooza was in Saratoga Springs at SPAC back in ’92 when RATM and Soundgarden were both the main headliners.

I really hope their Lollapalooza show in Chicago isn’t their only gig and hope Soundgarden sticks around for a full time tour, and hopefully new album. I think their Soundbox gig was just a test to see if they still have that popularity and if they can still play live. Yes, they still have both. How about that Matt Cameron? Their Lollapalooza gig is gonna be great. I’m glad they didn’t play, “Black Hole Sun” and played mostly their classics that fans want to hear! Chris’s vocals in these tracks are incredible. Just proves his solo career was a huge mistake.

Enjoy these amazing bootleg audio clips below.

Report: Eminem announces “Recovery” for June 22nd…

Well, Eminem changed the album title from “Relapse 2” to “Recovery”. Which “Recovery” will be hitting record stores June 22nd. Eminem announced the news on his twitter page.

More on it here:

http://music-mix.ew.com/2010/04/14/eminem-recovery/

I don’t like a lot of rap but there’s a few rap artists that I do enjoy listening to, and Eminem is one rap artist that I’m a huge fan of. I really enjoyed “Relapse”, I thought it was an incredible album and it was different. I’m looking forward to “Recovery” which I will probably get for my Ipod.
