The mighty Metallica kills it with their “Rock in Rio” set in Vegas! Wow!!!

I’ve seen too many Metallica live performances on video and I’ve seen them live in person once… I would have to say that this is their best gig in the last decade or so. It seems that Lars Ulrich improved his drumming skills and he was on fire here. Lars helped make the band sound pretty tight that night. All 4 guys were on fire. The sound quality at “Rock in Rio” did a good job ’cause you can hear all their instruments pretty clearly, you can even hear Rob’s bass pretty good.

I loved how they threw in songs they haven’t played in a long time… songs such as “King Nothing” which they don’t play live much.

I love watching Metallica live ’cause they are the best live band. I don’t care what the haters think.

What I love the most about Metallica is that they love their fans so much and they actually show it at their live gigs. When the show is over with, most bands would leave right after their set but not Metallica. When Metallica finishes their set, they stay and hang out for a while so they can celebrate with their fans by throwing guitar picks, drum sticks, beach balls and all kinds of items out in the crowd.

I don’t understand why Metallica continues to get so much hate when they deserve so much respect. Shame on the metal fans who continue to shit on this band like jealous little pussies. Metallica still rocks, I don’t care what anyone thinks.

I watched this whole video from start to finish and you should too. It’s worth it, believe me!

Um, yeah Scott Weiland doesn’t look like he’s on heroin here (sarcasm)…

A new interview with Scott Weiland just appeared and it’s freakin’ hilarious. Scott here is still blaming the “ear piece” on that performance and he claims he isn’t on anything. Well, watch Scott throughout the interview. He’s definitely messed up and high on something. Scott not being able to stand well and he’s having trouble speaking clearly too. The way he’s speaking, he’s talking as if he’s “high” on something like a Cheech and Chong kind of thing. Also, if you go to 4:45 in the video, you can see that he’s even struggling to pass the mic over to the interviewer. It’s looking like that Scott was trying to hand the mic over but the interviewer ends up taking the mic from him.

This doesn’t seem like Scott Weiland. In the past, Scott’s interviews were always very intelligent and insightful but he’s really bizarre in this video.

People get concerned for his health and his best response was that he’s calling out the “asshole media” and he calls his fans, “haters”??? Yeah, real professional response, dude.

Dear Musicians, Scott Weiland is a good example why you shouldn’t drink or do drugs before a show…

Well, Scott Weiland’s lawyer responded to that bizarre performance. The lawyer claims that Scott was just tired and he had a few drinks before the show. Plus, they also blamed it on the “earpiece” which made Scott sing out of key.

You see, the last people you wanna trust are lawyers. They are being paid lots of money to protect their clients and they lie for them, that’s what they are paid to do so don’t believe anything his lawyers say. They blame alcohol and losing the earpiece but I’m not buying it. Scott seems to be pretty secretive and hiding something.

If he did have a few drinks before the show, it had to be more than a few drinks.

There are way too many bands out there that love to party before a show or after. I think partying before a show is a horrible idea. There are too many bands that love to get themselves wasted before a show and there’s nothing cool about that. It’s fine if they wanna get drunk after their performance but before or during, no.

In my opinion, this is just my opinion, drinking and getting wasted is stupid. In the past, I used to get myself wasted and drunk once in a blue moon but not anymore. I don’t drink alcohol at all anymore but I’m fine if other people drink, though. Just drink responsibly and I’ll be cool with it. Drinking before or during a performance is a no no for me. I’ve seen too many local bands that looked “wasted” as fuck during shows, not naming names. I’ve had enough. It is unprofessional when bands do it. I don’t care how established they are. I should have a future blog post about this soon.

Scott Weiland back on the drugs again, you can totally see it here…

Yep, I really am beginning to think that Stone Temple Pilots did the right thing kicking him out of the band after all. After Scott losing his temper at a VIP Meet and Greet not a long while back, he looks even more messed up here. Is he shooting up heroin again? You can tell, standing there like a zombie and when he moves, he walks really slow. In “Dead and Bloated” in the video below, after Weiland sings through the megaphone, he walks to the drum riser and sets down the megaphone slowly and carefully.

He’s definitely on the heroin again ’cause what heroin does is slow your body down.

Strange ’cause in the past when Scott performs on stage… he looks very energetic and always moving on stage and dancing around but during this performance… he looks like a fuckin’ zombie.

I’m beginning to think that STP did the right thing and many fans who turned their backs on STP for firing Scott are starting to see it too. It’s really sad but doesn’t surprise me.

Uh-oh, Live Nation to take control of Bonnaroo Festival, expect ticket pricing to go way up now…

If there is a big problem in the music industry we’re having today that is Live Nation. I hate Live Nation. They’re trying to take over the concert industry for sure so they can raise the ticket pricing on everything and make more money. That is why I stopped going to SPAC concerts in Saratoga Springs ’cause Live Nation took over and ticket pricing at SPAC went way up. It’s Live Nation making concert tickets so high these days. It’s ridiculous. Live Nation is cancerous to this industry.

I don’t go to national concerts anymore. Too expensive for my taste. I remember in the old days… I used to go to national concerts all the time ’cause why? That’s when they used to be “affordable” but now tickets are getting priced for a couple of hundred dollars or more. Back in the 70’s and 80’s, I remember concert tickets used to cost like $5.00 – $10.00. In the 90’s, concert tickets were around $10.00 – $20.00. In the early 2000 years, concerts costed like around $30 – $50.

Concert tickets today? Now they are costing you like $250 or higher. Fucking bullshit if you ask me.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/alexpham/2015/04/28/live-nation-bonnaroo-acquisition-further-consolidates-festival-business/

I love live music, yes but I’m not gonna go to national concerts as long as the ticket pricing is too high. I think Live Nation is ruining live music and you can blame ticketmaster too. I hate ’em both really.

If you wanna see live music, best thing to do is to go to a bar or a club to see some local band downtown.

Such a damn shame how overpriced national concerts are these days. The music industry don’t care about you at all. It’s money is all they care about.

Billy Corgan joins “Impact Wrestling” but not as wrestler…

The frontman and founder of the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, has taken his wrestling dreams to another level. He has officially joined Impact Wrestling (formerly known as “TNA”). Billy didn’t join as a wrestler though, he’s just gonna serve as a senior producer of creative and talent development. Meaning that he is probably gonna be in charge of the creative writing and be a mentor to some wrestlers of it’s roster.

It’s no secret that Billy Corgan is a professional wrestling fanatic like myself.

http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/billy-corgan-tna-wrestling-smashing-pumpkins-1201480379-1201480379/

I don’t think Corgan is gonna compete in an actual wrestling match ’cause I would think he doesn’t have any wrestling skills. He just gets himself involved in professional wrestling ’cause he’s simply a huge fan and he just wants to be a part of it somehow.

I’m sure Corgan will be involved in storylines and feuds with wrestlers… I’m sure he’s gonna make some TV appearances on “Impact Wrestling”.

I haven’t watched “Impact Wrestling” in a long time. I used to watch TNA a lot in the past, though. Stopped for a while. I’ll have to get back into it again.

Wonder what this means for the Smashing Pumpkins? There was some talks that Billy was thinking about hanging up the band for good ’cause he wants to be done and move on. Why do you think he wants to be called, William Patrick Corgan instead of “Billy”? I love the Smashing Pumpkins though, always did.

Video: 20 Supreme Rock Goddesses…

For you rock music lovers, here’s a pretty nice video. I love women that rock. There’s not much of those in the music industry and we definitely need more women that rock. I’ve only heard of some women in this video and there’s some that I haven’t heard of before.

The ones that I know in this video are: Amy Lee, Taylor Momsen, Joan Jett (who I am a big fan of, btw), Lita Ford, Siouxsie Sioux, Orianthi, Kim Gordon, Melissa Auf Der Maur, and Sharon Den Adel.

I haven’t heard all the other ones, though.

While this is a nice video, they should have included Christina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Fallon Bowman (Kittie) and Donita Sparks (L7).

Enjoy!

Bob Rock claims Jimmy Page and Jack White loved Metallica’s “St. Anger” album…

Bob Rock, who produced the 2003 Metallica album, “St. Anger” went on to Chris Jericho’s podcast show to talk about the album and other things. Bob Rock defended the album by claiming that Jimmy Page and Jack White telling him that they loved it. He then went on to defend the production of the album, the sound quality of Lars’s drums and the album having no guitar solos.

Read more here, Bob has some interesting things to say about “St. Anger”…

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/metallicas-st-anger-is-loved-by-jimmy-page-and-jack-white-says-producer-bob-rock/

I know it’s not everyone’s favorite Metallica album but I loved it ever since the album came out and still do. It’s unique and different. I respect them for that album ’cause after many years of playing thrash metal all the time…the band decided they wanted to get away from that and try something new. That was the goal of this album, I believe. They wanted a break from the thrash metal stuff.

No matter what people thought of the album, the album is still pretty heavy and tight though. Just listen to the songs. I think “Frantic” and “Some Kind of Monster” are the best songs off the album, though. Seriously guys, you should really give this album another chance. Listen to the album. Actually listen to it all the way through with the volume cranked up and you would hear that it’s not that bad at all.

This album is still “metal”… just a different feel of it. I think “St. Anger” has Hetfield’s best singing by the way too.

I don’t understand music fans. They’re always hating on Metallica on “EVERYTHING” and yet, they keep begging for more music from them. How much do you wanna bet that when Metallica’s new album comes out this year… everybody will be shitting on it?

“St. Anger” is a pretty sick album, in my opinion. I don’t hear anything wrong with it.

Guitarist Rusty Cooley says he turned down Megadeth ’cause he didn’t want to play other people’s solos!!

During a podcast interview, virtuoso guitarist, Rusty Cooley says he was approached by Megadeth to join the band to take over Chris Broderick’s place as lead guitarist. Rusty explains he got the call from Dave Mustaine’s management team and then he and Dave chatted through e-mail about joining the band. Rusty thought about it and debated about joining the band but then he started to have second thoughts. Rusty changed his mind and admits that Megadeth isn’t for him. The reason? He just didn’t want to spend like 10 to 20 years playing other people’s guitar solos. If Rusty decided to join the band, he would have to spend hours & hours trying to learn the solos note for note from earlier Megadeth songs and he didn’t want to go through all that. Plus, Rusty wanted to keep his own style and do his own thing.

This is a musician with class and we need more musicians like him. Musicians who are down to earth and has no ego.

Megadeth predictably changes their lineup again for the 20th time, I lost count. Megadeth is a great band and always will be. I respect Dave as a guitar player, singer and songwriter but the constant lineup changes are annoying, though. I’m sure Dave isn’t upset for Rusty turning him down ’cause I’m pretty sure many musicians turned down Megadeth so I would think Dave is pretty used to it.

While Megadeth is a great band, I love their earlier work more, though. Albums like “Killing Is My Business”, “Peace Sells” and “Rust In Peace” are all masterpieces. Love those albums.

I never cared for their latest record, “Super Collider”. I thought it was a pretty bad album. Sometimes that happens with Megadeth. Sometimes they’re good and sometimes they’re not. I don’t understand why Metallica is a huge target of making bad albums when Megadeth had their share of making some bad records too but fans don’t give ’em any flak for it.

Another cool song from “The Sopranos”…

So last night, I started Season 3 of “The Sopranos” and they played another really cool song at the end of one of the episodes of that season.

It’s kind of like a techno and house kind of tune. The kind of stuff you would hear in a night club.

Pretty cool track. I’m not into techno and electronic music too much but I dig this song, though. I could dance to this one at a club for sure.

Enjoy.
