Well, I finally got around to reading Ronda Rousey’s debut book that she just put out. It was a short 300 page book. All the chapters are very short so it’s gonna be a quick read. Only took me a couple of days to read but a really good book! The book is full of photos.
This book is more than just fighting and MMA. There are very good stories about fighting and MMA for sure but the book is about life. I’ve been a fan of Ronda Rousey ever since her fight with Miesha Tate in “Strikeforce”. After seeing that fight, I knew she was gonna be something special and this woman is gonna become an icon. Which she is now. Ronda Rousey has a lot of critics and haters. She’s been accused of knowing just the “arm bar” but it’s not true. As I expected, Ronda spent many years in martial arts. Ronda’s martial arts style was judo mostly. She came a long way to get where she is now. Her success didn’t happen overnight like some accused her of. She got her start in the Beijing 2008 Olympics and she went from there.
In the book, when she wasn’t talking about fighting… she would talk a lot of ups and downs in her life. She talks about being a “fighter” in everyday life… not just in the cage. She wanted to be a “fighter” and succeed in life. In other words, she wants to focus on being the better person than she was yesterday. She just wanted to go out and do things to prove people wrong who doubted her which is inspiration to me. She just wants to move forward and forget the past.
A lot of people accuse Ronda of being violent and scary but when she’s not in the cage fighting other women, she’s just a normal human being like the rest of us. She gets happy most of the time, she gets angry, sad, etc. She’s just like all of us. She’s also made plenty of mistakes in her life too! All the success she’s getting these days… being in the UFC and getting movie roles is well-deserved for her. She didn’t get there overnight like I said. She spent many years working very hard. She started off small and built her way up.
If you want more proof that she knows a lot more moves than the arm bar, you should watch her older fights in youtube. She’s a pretty tough chick. Some of you may wonder if she has what it takes to beat up a man. Well in the book, she says she did beat up ex-boyfriends before, lol! So yeah, if you ever get to date Ronda, you better be good to her. She maybe smoking hot and attractive looking, yes but when you piss her off… she don’t mess around for sure.
This was an inspiring book. This is only the beginning of Ronda Rousey, though. She’s gonna get much bigger and even more famous in the future. Whenever she retires from the UFC, though, I can see her becoming a movie actress full time. I’ve always been a Ronda Rousey fan, though. Not just because she’s smoking hot… I like her a lot ’cause she’s a talented fighter… plus she seems like a down to earth and humble lady.
She makes me wanna get out there and do things with my life. Prove people wrong of those who doubted me. I too feel like I wanna be a better man I was yesterday and I think like that every day. My life isn’t perfect and neither is hers. Nobody is perfect. You just gotta live life the way you want to and fuck what everybody else thinks. That’s the way Ronda lived her life and that’s another reason why I respect the hell out of her. I’d like to meet her someday myself… something to add to my bucket list, meet Ronda in person.
This book is recommended reading if you wanna a better understanding of her.
