Back home from my week vacation at Cape Cod… now back to reality…

Hey y’all, I’m back.

If you’re wondering where I’ve been for a whole week if anyone actually cares that is, I’ve been gone on vacation to Cape Cod. Just a little vacation with the family. I definitely had to go so I can get away from everything for a little while and that includes weightlifting and guitar playing. It’s good to get away from all that for a week. It was a great time with the family and all.

What did I do? Well, I did some sight seeing, went to the beach some, ate some sea food and did some shopping.

For shopping, I came home with some books ’cause there are always used local bookstores around Cape Cod, picked up a couple of music CD’s since there was an actual record store in Hyannis and picked up a couple of movies on BluRay.

What music CD’s and movies did I get on BluRay? For CD’s, I picked up the new Slipknot album “We Are Not Your Kind” and a couple of albums by Hall and Oates: “Change of Season” and “OOoooh Yeah”. I’m gonna start listening to Hall & Oates albums ’cause I’m really digging their stuff. As for movies on BluRay I picked up the new “Pet Sematary” remake and a horror film called “Mandy” with Nicolas Cage in the leading role.

I also went to the movie theaters at the Cape Cod mall and saw the new Tarantino film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” which was fucking awesome. Tarantino did it again and it’s another winner. I’ll have a full detailed review of that film in another post.

It was a good week for me. Now back to reality. Gonna get back to my 4 day a week routine at the gym this week starting with chest day tomorrow.

I love going on vacation and travelling once a year. It is a really good escape from reality and a good way to relax. Now back to posting on the blog ’cause I still have some loyal readers even though my blog isn’t popular anymore like it used to be. That’s okay. I only blog for myself anyways. Maybe I’ll have a rant on that in another post.

Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren team up for TV show that could go to Netflix/Apple, Dolph will star in the show but Sly will not…

Deadline reported that Sly Stallone and Dolph Lundgren will team up for an upcoming action drama show that could go to Netlfix and Apple. Not confirmed yet but Netflix and Apple badly wants the show.

Dolph will star in the leading role but Sly will not star at all. Sly is just going to serve as executive producer and he might even direct the show himself. The show was pitched to FOX, CBS, Netflix and Apple and it looks like they all want it.

Dolph will play a covert operative at the Department of Safety and Security at the UN. He is like a secret agent, a one man S.W.A.T. team and hostage negotiator. The show doesn’t have a title as of this moment.

Dolph Lundgren-Sylvester Stallone Action Drama Series Heats Up TV Marketplace

I’m hoping this show goes to Netflix ’cause it sounds awesome. I’m sure it’s gonna be a pretty violent show too. There will be tons of fist fighting, gun shooting and lots of explosions I’m sure.

It may not seem like it but Dolph has a lot of action movie experience. Dolph did mostly action movies in his career, anyways. Most of his movies were straight to video action films so I know Dolph plays the tough guy role very well.

I find it interesting how Sly wants to experiment with TV now. Sly wants to make the Rocky prequel TV show so that will probably come soon. Maybe this is paving the way for that?

I think Dolph is a good actor so I’m definitely gonna to be looking forward to this one. Man, I hope this show goes to Netflix exclusive and there’s a pretty good chance it will.

Dana White releases Cris Cyborg in the UFC over differences with rematch with Amanda Nunes… I’m siding with Cyborg on this one…

I stopped watching UFC a long time ago. I love UFC and MMA but I can’t watch ’em all the time since their ppv’s are way overpriced.

Anyway, I find this feud kind of interesting so I thought I would respond my thoughts on it. From what I’m reading, Cris Cyborg is dying for a rematch with Amanda Nunes in which she lost to her by knockout last year at UFC 232. She’s been begging for the rematch for a long while but Dana maintains that she doesn’t want the rematch and claims that Cyborg is afraid of losing to Nunes again. From what I’m seeing, Cyborg denies those claims and Cyborg really wants the rematch pretty badly. Like I said, looks like she’s been campaigning for the rematch for a while now.

If she wants the rematch then Dana should give it to her, what’s the problem? Why does Dana have to go out of his way and terminate her contract just because she wants a rematch? That’s all she really wants really.

https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2019/8/2/20752219/dana-white-ufc-wont-re-sign-cris-cyborg-free-to-fight-easy-fights-mma-news

What is Dana afraid of? Is he afraid of her because she’s different? That’s what it’s sounding like to me. I think the real reason Dana ended up terminating her is ’cause he doesn’t want the way he treated her behind the scenes to get out there… he’s afraid of getting in trouble for his harassment and bullying against her. Either that or he’s scared to death of her actually winning the rematch.

Why does Dana keep putting words in her mouth by saying she doesn’t want the fight when she kept saying publicly she does want it? Her lashing out at him and UFC is a smokescreen to duck a rematch? Really? When fighters want a fight, they really want it. They don’t play around.

With that being said, I stand with Cyborg. I love UFC and MMA, don’t get me wrong but I’m not afraid to say that Dana can be a bit of an asshole.

Here’s my latest deadlift video… me going for a 285 lb. heavy single… felt good and easy…

Man, today was a killer deadlift session. Today, I’ve done 2 sets of 255 lbs. for 5 reps each. Then I did 260 for 3 reps and then 265 for three reps. For the next set, I did 280 for a heavy single which felt easy and then ended my deadlift session with a 285 single.

This is my last deadlift session for a long while ’cause I’m going on vacation next week which means that next week, I’ll be taking a full week off of weight lifting. I really need it. I haven’t had a week off of weight lifting in a real long time so next week is a perfect week to take one.

Just two more days of workouts this week and then I’ll be done working out for a while ’cause I need a break from it. Next week, take a full week off from the gym totally.

Some of you may think that’s bad but it’s not. You may ask will I lose muscle and lose strength? No. In fact, I will get a lot more of both ’cause you’re giving your body time to rest and heal which is what I need pretty badly. When I come back from vacation, I’ll probably be a lot stronger.

It’s okay to take a week off from weightlifting once in a blue moon, just don’t over do it, ya know? I take a week off from weightlifting in the gym like once or twice a year. Not a whole lot.

Just gonna do leg day and arm day this week and that’s it for a while.

Today was a killer deadlift session and I’m on fire again. Since I was able to smash a 285 lb. single then my estimated p.r. on deadlift would probably be 300. I’m trying to get to 300 lbs. for more reps but I’ll get there soon. Hopefully I get there this Aug. if lucky enough.

I am feeling stronger and stronger on the big three: squat, bench and deadlift. It feels amazing. Glad I got into powerlifting!

Tool finally has change of heart with digital platforms and streaming services… this Friday you’ll finally be able to stream their albums on Spotify/Apple music and buy them from Itunes as well!!!

To all you Tool fans out there who are wondering if you got to try and go drive around to find previous Tool albums on CD, well you no longer have to wonder ’cause the band Tool just announced that they’ll be releasing their entire catalog to all digital services and streaming formats. Yes, that means you’ll be able to listen to Tool music on Spotify/Apple Music and you’ll even be able to buy the albums off of Itunes if you want to own them for yourself.

They’re releasing everything to digital including their new upcoming album “Fear Inoculum”  which won’t come out ’til August 30th but their previous 5 releases will be released to digital and streaming this Friday.

This is good news that Tool finally had a change of heart with digital releases ’cause they’ve been against it and avoided it like the plague for years until now. Glad that Tool finally joined the digital bandwagon which was long overdue.

I’m a huge fan myself. Used to listen to “Undertow” and “Aenima” a lot when I was a kid in high school. I used to bring my digital CD player and would listen to those albums a lot on the school bus years back. I didn’t have those albums on CD anymore so I re-bought them on CD from FYE not too long ago. Now I listen to them on my Ipod and both are pretty amazing albums. I’m gonna get “Lateralus, “10,000 Faces” and their EP “Opiate” soon.

Wonder what made them finally change their mind about digital releases? They probably got the hint that no one is buying CD’s anymore and they’re finally realizing it.

People who don’t re-rack their weights at public gyms are pieces of shits… oh yes they are!!!

Yep, people refusing to re-rack their weights at public gyms has been a real problem like a decade or over. It’s a big problem at pretty much all gyms across America and even the rest of the world. People refusing to pick up after themselves is real annoying, I know. At the local gym that I go to in my hometown, it’s the same thing. People refusing to re-rack their weights each time I go.

When they leave weight plates on bars and machines, I don’t say anything ’cause that’s NOT my job but I do go around putting the weights back even if I didn’t use them. I pick up after people all the time. Why do I do this? It’s not only that I like to show respect to a public gym which is what it’s all about but also showing respect to the staff that work there. Sometimes the staff  at the gym are not strong enough to go around picking up 45 lb. weight plates.

At the local gym I go to, there is a guy that works there who goes around picking up after people but he seems to have stopped for some reason and he’s hardly ever around when I’m there anyways. There is a manager/director of the gym but this person is hardly ever around to take care of the place which is ridiculous, in my eyes.

I used to love my local gym that I go to but it’s gone downhill fast. I continue to go ’cause it’s the only gym closer to home so I have no choice but to continue to use it.

People who refuse to re-rack weights just suck and I’m not afraid to say it.

Why do people do it? Well for a lot of reasons… they’re just dumb and not smart, they are egotistical/narcissistic, selfish, etc. I think some people just do it to piss gym goers off on purpose, honestly.

This is a real problem all over and it’s gotta stop.

The reason it’s not a polite thing to do is ’cause it’s a lot of work to remove a bunch of 45 lb. weight plates which is a waste of energy for your workout, ya know? Plus, not everyone in the gym is that strong to lift it.

People in gyms suck in general, though. That’s why I keep to myself and try not to socialize with people in the gym. Just throw my headphones on, don’t make eye contact with people while I’m working out and then I’m good.

I go there to get a good workout in and build muscle and that’s it. I don’t have time for bullshit.

Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren party it up in video gone viral… check it out…

Sly posted this cool instagram video that quickly went viral and went up to over 2 million views. Why did it go viral? I think people just admire the fact that they see three grown men having a little fun and enjoying themselves. Obviously, Sly, Arnie and Dolph do look a little wasted and looks like they had too much to drink but it’s still funny.

I think the point that Sly wanted to make in this video is that he wants to tell you that it’s okay to have fun and enjoy yourself no matter how old you are. You maybe aging but it’s okay to be silly, goofy and just laugh for no reason at all.

They are at Arnie’s home where he has his yearly private parties where I’m sure Arnie invites his family and friends only. I’m sure his parties are full of movie stars and other types of celebs.

Anyhow, there is a pretty good reason why Arnie, Sly and Dolph are together here. I think it’s obvious that they are planning an Expendables 4. That’s gonna be Sly’s next movie after “Rambo: Last Blood”, I believe.

When it comes to this video, Sly is right, though. When you want to have fun and act like a kid, it don’t matter. I like to have fun and be goofy myself sometimes and I’m in my 40’s now. Nothing wrong with it. Life is short, live life like you mean it and learn to smile and laugh a lot. I’ve heard that people who age are way more happier than young people, anyway.

Powerlifters who act like that’s the only way to lift in their definition are really getting on my nerves!!!

Whenever I post a video of my lifting, sometimes other powerlifters will always try to point a mistake that I might of done. In other words, they would try to critique my form and that usually happens when I upload a lifting video for all to see. They would tell me to do this and do that, don’t do this and don’t do that… blah blah blah. They would critique every aspect of my lifting and would try to get me to lift their way.

You see, I don’t usually lift the same way other powerlifters do. I just go by what the instructional videos through youtube and the internet tells me, ya know? And another thing, just because powerlifters are very experienced and have won a lot of trophies and broke a lot of records doesn’t necessarily mean they know what they’re doing. I mean, I’ve seen some of the greatest powerlifters and veterans lift with the shittiest form I’ve ever seen. Go watch some powerlifting competitions through youtube for proof on that. For example, when they go start up at the deadlift, they have some of the worst startups I’ve ever seen when they go walk up to the bar.

Many powerlifters even the great ones deadlift with rounded backs, they stand too far from the bar or they lean too far over the bar, etc. I’ve seen it all, it’s crazy. There are also too many deadlifters who lean far back on their lockouts meaning hyper-extending the back which is bad. Many powerlifters tell me to deadlift with your head looking straight forward but no, I think it’s better to deadlift with the head being neutral. Other powerlifters told me a way to deadlift is that the butt needs to be pointing down to the floor with the chest aiming up at the ceiling. I’ve tried that and it’s uncomfortable for me.

The way I like to deadlift is that I like to stand narrow, I reach down to the bar without lowering my hips at all ’cause the hips needs to be higher than the knees and the bar needs to be over mid-foot. You need to straighten your back and making sure everything is tight then you’re ready to make the pull.

Also, speaking of pulling… so many deadlifters make the mistake that it’s just a pull movement only when it’s not. When you deadlift, you think of it as being a leg press as well so when the bar comes off the floor, you use a lot of leg drive to lock it out. Using leg drive by pushing the legs to the floor as hard as you can like a leg press. That’s how I always deadlift.

I’m pretty sick of the egos in the powerlifting world acting like it’s the only way to lift and it’s getting tiresome. As long as you’re following the commands in powerlifting competitions, it doesn’t matter how you lift. You should just lift whatever works for you. You don’t have to lift how others lift. Just gotta listen to your body and lift what’s right. That’s the way my attitude always been. I’ve always done things my way.

I prefer to be a self-taught lifter. I never really enjoyed learning from other lifters. I’ve always felt comfortable doing my own thing. Every lifter is different… gotta respect that. I may not like other lifters form and technique but I just shut my mouth and let them do their own thing.

I think people critique my form ’cause they know I’m new to the powerlifting game and they’re afraid that I might be better than them and they don’t want that. They give me advice on my form and once I correct it for them, it’s always something else that’s wrong. It’s bullshit. So I just say, fuck ’em and do things my way, ya know? That’s the way to be.

Soundgarden still wants to finish recording 7th studio album…

Soundgarden may never be able to play a live concert ever again but the band still hopes to finish their 7th album that they’ve been working on before Chris Cornell passed away. Before Chris Cornell committed suicide, the band were in the middle of recording their 7th album which would be the follow up to “King Animal” (released in 2012).

Cornell already recorded the vocals and guitar parts for the album; however, the songs don’t have a backup band and rhythm section yet. That’s what the band hopes to complete. They want to finish the album by recording additional guitar parts, bass lines and the drums so they can release the album someday in the future.

Only problem with that is that Kim Thayil doesn’t have the masters to Cornell’s demos. He has copies of the demos so he already knows what the songs sounds like but what he needs are the masters so they can overdub. Thayil says they are not in possession of the original masters and none of the guys in the band knows where they are.

https://loudwire.com/soundgarden-unfinished-album-chris-cornell-demos/

I wonder if they talked with Cornell’s wife, Vicky about the masters? I bet Chris has them stored and locked away somewhere in his home. Maybe Chris has them on a laptop or on a burnt CD? Either Vicky has the masters or maybe the record labels do.

Who’s ever is keeping them is making a mistake ’cause I think Chris would have wanted the final Soundgarden album to get made and released. That’s why he recorded the demos to begin with. Somebody does have the masters, though and is keeping them to himself or herself.

Who knows, though… just wait ’cause now that Thayil spoke out maybe who ever has the masters will give them to the band soon. Like they all say, never say never!

How to deal with online trolls and cyber bullying nowadays…

Hope I’m not the only one noticing that I believe that online trolls and cyber bullying online has become quite a problem nowadays and it’s getting a lot worse too. It’s like when you’re in a discussion or debate online like in social media, blogs, message boards, etc… and then suddenly you get personally attacked by someone out of the blue. You join in on the discussion or if you start a discussion and suddenly you get people saying mean things to you for no reason.

I’ve had this problem for a long ass time myself and I still go through it. Yep, you can betcha I still get trolls and cyberbullies attacking me even to this day. Some would think it’s your fault and you brought it upon yourself that you get these haters & cyberbullies but it’s not you at all. It’s just that a lot of people out there are nothing but assholes, ya know? When will people understand that people are just mean to you for no reason at all?

Why are some trolls mean to you for no reason? Why do you get all these nasty attacks? It’s simply because they are just like a bully in high school. They do it hoping to get a rise out of you. They want to try and get you upset just to amuse themselves. They have nothing better to do. They just think it’s funny and entertaining by picking on someone. Period. End of story. I’m also noticing that most of these trolls and cyberbullies are not really in happy in their lives and that’s probably another reason they do it.

It seems to me that you get attacked randomly just because you say things that people disagree with or if you say something wrong. They also do it ’cause they don’t like your views in politics, don’t like your taste in music or have a different opinion than them.

You just want to get into a fun and positive discussion but no matter how positive you are, you get attacked by some troll. Maybe that’s another reason they do it is ’cause they know how positive you are and they can’t stand it. It’s a proven fact that negative people can’t stand positive and happy people. It makes them crazy. When they see happy and positive people, they do all they can to bring them down to their level.

When I deal with trolls, I just ignore them completely nowadays. That’s how I’ve been dealing with them. If they say or do something about me that goes way out of line then I’ll do all I can to report them and try to get them banned but most of the time I just ignore them. If I feel the need to debate with them then I’ll just stick with my views and opinions and never back down. Stick to my guns no matter what they say ’cause they hate that.

Admittedly maybe some of the things I say is why I get haters and cyberbullies but everyone makes mistakes and we’re all human. Most of this are not yours or my fault.

Anyhow, when you’re getting attacked by people… most people do it anonymously anyways so don’t worry about it. People do it anonymously ’cause they don’t want you to find out who they really are just to save their own reputation and stuff. Many of them are cowards ’cause they do it anonymously.

Cyberbullying is a problem and it’s getting worse too. It used to bother me and upset me but not anymore. People just don’t understand that cyberbullies just want to make me look bad as much as possible most of the time. They are desperate. If you hear any nasty things about me said out there, don’t believe ’em ’cause most of it is bullshit.

I’m just a normal guy enjoying life, staying positive and am pretty happy. That’s all I am really. All I want to do is pretty much play my guitar and workout in the gym. I don’t care about the haters anymore. Life is really great.
