Batman: Arkham Asylum and Wolfenstein games out in stores now…

So “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and “Wolfenstein” both came out in video game stores everywhere this week. I want to buy both video games, but will have to buy one at a time. Of course, I will buy “Batman” first this week, then I will buy “Wolfenstein” next paycheck after.

I still haven’t beaten “Residen Evil 5”, “Ghostbusters”, and “Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood” yet. Been doing other things besides video games lately.

Collecting video games is a favorite hobby of mine and I think it’s good to get all the games you want right away, and just beat one at a time.

I never played “Ghostbusters” yet, still trying to beat, “Call of Juarez” the western first person shooter. After I beat “Juarez”, I plan to start “Ghostbusters” next, then try to finish the rest of “Resident Evil 5”.

Videogaming is a cool way to relax. Screw the people that say video gaming isn’t good for you, ’cause I totally disagree with it!

Report: The Cranberries are returning to the music business…

Over the years there has been many former iconic bands reforming and reuniting, now you can add the Cranberries to the list. The Cranberries, an iconic Irish band that were well known from the early 90’s with such hits like “Zombie”, “Linger”, and “Dreams” are returning for a new tour. The band plans to play all their hits on their tour and they will play all the songs from Dolores O’ Riordan’s solo career.

They didn’t say whether or not they will go back into the studio to record new original songs, but since the band said they are moving forward, a new Cranberries album is a possibility.

Film Review: Inglourious Basterds

Directed by: Quentin Tarantino

Starring: Brad Pitt, Mike Myers, Eli Roth, BJ Novak, and many more.

Just saw “Inglourious Basterds” today, the new Quentin Tarantino movie. I wasn’t very excited to see this flick but since I’m a huge fan of Tarantino’s older movies, that’s the reason it made me want to check it out anyways.

Here is my review:

Plot/synopsis: Quentin Tarantino is finally back on the big screen with his vision on WWII and Nazis. A team of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds”, which Brad Pitt plays the leader ,Lt. Raine, which their mission is to kill all the Nazis. Later in the film, “The Basterds” meet a young teenage girl who runs a movie theater which is taken over by Hitler and the Nazis.

As usual Tarantino never dissapoints with his films, I thought this was a very good one. Nothing excellent or amazing. I still love Tarantino’s older flicks better, nothing will top my favorites, “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction”, but “Inglourious Basterds” was very entertaining.

“Basterds” was more of a comedy, it had a lot of whacky humor throughout. The movie had lots of gross out scenes, yes, this film actually has blood and guts and nasty things that would make you want to close your eyes or look away from the screen.

The movie was about 2 hours and 45 minutes long, but it didn’t even feel like it. In Tarantino movies, he makes long films but he is great at the pacing with the films so it makes you feel like they don’t seem that long.

Brad Pitt’s acting was fantastic in this film. Mike Myers cameo was great, but you can’t recognize him at all, I could tell where Mike Myers was just by listening to his speaking voice carefully. The acting of the rest of the cast was okay, but the actor that blew me away the most was Christopher Waltz. The guy that played the Nazi, Hans Landa. I really think Christopher Waltz is going to get Oscar nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” in the next Academy Awards. His acting really was amazing in this movie.

The movie was silly and whacky, but hell, all Tarantino movies are, you just wonder what goes on in that guy’s delusional mind. That Tarantino guy is one crazy man but in a good way though. As usual, there is a foot fetish cameo in “Basterds” like all Tarantino movie has foot fetishes. Everyone knows that Tarantino has a foot fetish in real life so he brings it in all of his films.

Tarantino spent years and years working on “Basterds” and it’s finally here. It’s not over yet, ’cause I think there is a sequel on the way. I remember Tarantino said the script he wrote was so long that he had to split the movie in two. So the ending of “Basterds” left open for another movie, definitely.

I really enjoyed “Inglourious Basterds”, it’s not the best he’s ever done, he’s done better. I hope the sequel will be good too.

Score for “Inglourious Basterds” = *** (3 stars as in “Good”)

“Bioshock” is one of my absolute favorite video games ever made. The game is hands down amazing.

I hope this guy makes the live action movie a great one and hope he doesn’t fuck it up. He better make the movie more like the video game.

To those who never saw or heard of the video game before, a couple of gameplay clips below.

Cool Video: Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” hits the internets, and the movie looks pretty freakin’ sweet!!!

As usual the amazing Christopher Nolan never dissapoints with his movies. His next movie after, “The Dark Knight”, is a film titled, “Inception” that stars Leo Dicaprio in the leading role. It’s a mix of sci fi and action. Looks like this will be a major special effects movie but anways, the film looks awesome.

Count me in the theater in 2010 for this flick. Looks badass!

BREAKING NEWS: Ryan Jenkins found dead in alleged suicide…

What a shocking and sad story. I’ve been paying attention to and following it, I didn’t blog about this story yet ’cause I didn’t know how it was going to end.

The story of super model Jasmine Fiore getting brutally murdered by her husband, Ryan Jenkins, the former star of reality show, “Megan Wants to Be a Millionaire”. He fled to Canada and today he was found dead, hanged in a motel room.

More on the story here:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/08/alleged-killer-of-model-found-dead-in-canada-sources-say.html

And it’s all over TMZ as well.

Murder suicides has risen, big time.

I think this is the most brutal and disturbing celebrity murder since the Chris Benoit case. Now that Ryan is dead, expect THIS TO BE all over TV the rest of the week.

My next set of songs planned for new demo…

I haven’t written a new batch of original songs in a long time. I’ve been planning on it and working on it. Started writing new stuff.

My plans for my next set of songs, I will no longer be writing songs about horror fiction, serial killers and the dark stuff I did. When I first started playing out, the only reason I started off writing dark material, was that I figured it would be a good way to create a little buzz with my music. Write some controversial songs that will grab people’s attention. It kind of worked. The dark songs booked me shows and people actually came out to them, and enjoyed them.

My next set of songs, I have plans to make nothing but “topical” stuff. Songs that are more real. You know, songs that are about real things…”topical songs” about current events and stuff going on in the current news. Also protest songs are considered topical.

Legendary artists like Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen wrote topical songs for most of their careers.

I won’t reveal details of what my new upcoming songs will be about as of this point, but I think they’ll still be rockin’ and tight acoustic material that I’ve always done.

I will probably release all my music to Itunes only whenever I feel like trying to figure this stuff out on how to sell our own songs on Itunes. I certainly do want to get a new demo CD in the works and I hope to do that whenever I’m ready. Music is my passion and I want to keep making music, I’ll never give that up.

Report: Joan Jett sues the Runaways bassist, Jackie Fox, for blocking film of biopic movie…

Joan Jett has filed a lawsuit against former, Runaways bassist, Jackie Fox. Although Jackie was a member of the Runaways for a couple of years in the 70’s, she wasn’t made a character in the upcoming Runaways biopic that Joan Jett is producing.

Jackie claims to own part of the trademark of the “Runaways” band name and Joan also claims she owns the band name all for herself.

More on it here:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,541744,00.html??test=faces

According to the Trademark Database on the trademark website, the band name, the Runaways, is trademarked under, Blackheart Records. That is Joan’s record label that she owns herself.

The Runaways, trademark band name used to be owned by Kim Fowley in the 70’s-80’s, but Joan must of bought band name rights later on.

Only thing though, they put the trademark band name under Joan’s record label, not her own. This means that Joan and Kenny Laguna both own the trademark to, the Runaways band name.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself…

Go here:

http://www.uspto.gov/

Click on “Trademark” and click, “Search TM Database”, it’s a place where you can look up any trademark names that are registered in this world. You can see what trademark names year is registered, the name and if it’s live or dead.

Sorry, Jackie, but you will lose and you will pay, big time. Before assuming that you own some of the trademark, do some research and get your facts straight first.

Cool Video: Teenage Casket Company returns!!!

One of my favorite unsigned bands from the UK, The Teenage Casket Company has finally returned! They are touring the UK and here’s a few videos of their recent live performances. Great to see the band back.

I’ll never forget the night when I shared the stage with this band at the Hudson Duster in Troy a couple of years back, that’s when I first discovered them.

A few videos from their performance at a music festival called Trashstock. The TCC is a band from Nottingham. Their frontman, Rob Wylde also fronts a band called Sins of America in Boston, Mass of the USA.
