Report: Steven Seagal turns down role in, “The Expendables”…

First Kurt Russell turned down a role in Stallone’s film “The Expendables”, then Jean Claude Van Damme turned it down too, who’s next to join the club? That would be the pony tailed karate master, Steven Seagal.

Sly tried asking Steven Seagal to appear in the film, but he turned it down as well. The reason? It has nothing to do with scheduling conflicts or the direction that the script was in, but it has something to do with not getting along with one of, “The Expendables” film crew members. That is Avi Lerner, the founder/owner of Nu Image/Millenium Films.

Avi Lerner and Steven Seagal don’t get along too well. Steven refuses to work on any films that is done by Nu Image/Millenium which is owned by Avi Lerner. Seagal would have loved to be part of the film if Avi Lerner didn’t have anything to do with it.

Although this article confirms that Bruce Willis is Church (no surprise), I will wait for the announcement from Sly himself so I can believe it.

Finally, beat “Bioshock” today…

After working out at the gym for a while this morning, I was playing “Bioshock” this afternoon, trying to beat the game. I just beat it today. Played the game on the difficulty level. Even though the game was played in the difficulty level, the final boss wasn’t that hard to beat. Only took me several tries to beat the last boss. The rest of the game is wicked hard though. This game took me a long time to get through.

I had to buy a new PS3 game controller today, picked it up from Kmart on the way home from the gym. The game controller I was using before was having problems with it and hasn’t been working right, so I had to get a new one.

I’ll probably start “Resident Evil 5” tonight.

Thought: “Clash of the Titans” remake is looking like a remake of “300” so far…

Here is Sam Worthington as Persues in the “Clash of the Titans” remake…

Notice the similarities of the other Greek film, “300”, that starred Gerard Butler.

I know “300” is a popular movie, and a lot of people like it, sorry to say, but I didn’t like it too much. “300” felt like too much of a video game to me, and it looks like “Clash of the Titans” remake is heading to that same root.

I’ve been saying from day 1 that “Clash of the Titans” remake is a bad idea, and I still stand by it. The only reason I would go see it, is to just see Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes playing in the same movie together again, that would be the only good reason to see it.

Report: Ivan Reitman says he is down with doing “Ghostbusters 3” if the final script is worth doing…

MTV News spoke with “Ghostbusters” director, Ivan Reitman about possibly directing the third film. He says he is interested in returning as director for “G3” but only if he feels that the story is worth doing it. He is a very important director for the series since he did the first two, so he says he wouldn’t walk away from the third one at all.

Bill Murray came up with the idea of making females as Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd liked the idea and threw a couple of actresses in that he would like to see in it. Ivan Reitman replied to Bill and Dan’s idea, saying that he doesn’t know if the “Office” writers will go for the female Ghostbuster idea in the final script or not.

MTV Movies Blog reports:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/06/05/ivan-reitman-could-return-to-direct-ghostbusters-3/

I’m sure “The Office” writers will make a final script to make Ivan happy enough to go back on board directing. I hope they do go for the female Ghostbuster idea as well. Being a Ghostbuster doesn’t always have to be a man’s job, right? Women can be quicker and smarter when hunting down the ghosts, so I can see why they want a female Ghostbuster.

Lets hope they make the 3rd one, similar to the first one. If they make it more like “Ghostbusters 2”, then I won’t be interested in it.

Being an athletic person is awesome…

Doing this Fitness and bodybuilding thing, it makes you feel at peace, and makes you much happier. You also get more respect from the people around you. Your family and friends will feel happy for you, that you’ll get off your lazy ass and do something more physical and be more active. You also meet new people this way.

The reason I want to get into this is not really to impress other people. I’m basically doing this for myself. I want to feel stronger, look more fit, and be more confident when I’m wearing nothing but shorts in front of people in public during the summer time.

Plus, I want to get into some kind of sport than I can physically do. I don’t do other sports like: Baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc. I don’t even do hunting games and fishing. I just wanted to find a sport that I’m good at. I figure “fitness” and “bodybuilding” is perfect for me.

I’m learning so much different exercises and researching it so much, it’s crazy. I’ll be into this for the rest of my life, probably. Will I ever one day, show off my physique? When I start to get improvements later this year or perhaps longer, I probably will. For right now, I only have a small built but I hope to improve later this year.

I haven’t been going to the gym the last couple of days, ’cause I learned you don’t want to go all the time. Most people go only 3 times a week, I think that’s a good idea. Your body needs rests and a few days off. I plan to go back to the gym tomorrow morning on Saturday.

I plan to start buying gym equipment of my own and I’ll start that with buying a bench press this summer. I used to have a bench press, but got rid of it a long time ago.

Brock still trying to beat “Bioshock”…

Now that I’m finally starting to play the PS3 a lot more often again, I’m still trying to beat this “Bioshock” game. There are 13 chapters in the game, and I’m currently on Chapter 11, “Appollo Square”. After I beat this Chapter, I have to beat two more and then I complete the game.

This game is great. “Bioshock”, I think is the best first person shooter game ever made in the video game world. Forget “Duke Nukem”, forget “Doom”, forget “Wolfenstein”, forget “F.E.A.R.”. “Bioshock” tops all first person shooters ever.

I think Gore Verbinski is going to make “Bioshock” an incredible movie. Most movies adapted from video games aren’t that great, but I think Verbinski will make “Bioshock” a very promising film. When this game gets made to a movie, I’m willing to bet you that the catchprase, “Would You Kindly” would also become a very popular movie catchphrase.

“Bioshock” has the best graphics, the best sound, the best action, best storyline/writing, etc. I sure can’t wait for, “Bioshock 2”.

I’m trying to finish “Bioshock” so I can move on to “Resident Evil 5” that I never started playing yet. I know a lot of people like to play a variety of different games in one day since they get sick of playing the same game for hours, but not with me.

I’m a one game at a time, kind of guy. Once I start playing a game, I never stop until it’s done. Then I choose a different game to move on to next.

Another game I’m interested in picking up soon, is a game titled, “Infamous”, it’s an original superhero adventure game that I’ve been reading reviews of lately. I’m thinking of picking it up soon.

RIP: David Carradine 1936 – 2009

I just got home from work this afternoon. Just learned the shocking death of “Kung Fu” TV star and Hollywood actor, David Carradine, found dead in Bangkok. It is alledged as a suicide, he was found hanging in the hotel room.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118004516.html?categoryid=25&cs=1

Wow!!!!!!!!!! Shocking! Sad also, as David Carradine is one of the best actors in Hollywood ever. Nobody ever thought David was depressed and suicidal.

More on this soon.

Kev

Edit to add: TmZ confirms his death wasn’t suicide, it was accidental. He was found nude in the closet of his hotel room with a rope tied around his body. His reps confirmed that he would never kill himself.

My question is, what the hell was he doing naked in a closet?

I don’t mean to sound sick or anything but was he doing some kind of sexual bondage by himself? He definitely had to be doing something sexual privately for himself, doing some of kind of sexual masturbation thing or something. Whatever he was doing.

This is exciting news, I can’t wait to play the Raiden character. The character is so badass in the games. I’ll definitely be getting this game when it hits the video game shelves!

Film Review: Drag Me To Hell

Starring: Alison Lohman, Justin Long

Directed by: Sam Raimi

Just got back from seeing the new Sam Raimi movie, “Drag Me To Hell” this afternoon. Sam Raimi returns to his roots, his classic comedy/horror genre into a new film. Here is my review:

Plot/synopsis: Alison Lohman plays a loan officer who evicts an old woman from her home. After learning that this woman is very strange and demonic, she learns that she is actually a monster called the Lamia where she can send Alison’s character to hell. For days, she has been tortured by this Lamia creature which it tries to send her to hell everytime but fails. Justin Long plays her characters boyfriend, while she seeks a promotion as manager at the loan office, she is being haunted by this Lamia demon with strange and evil things happening to her.

My thoughts on the film?

It totally felt like an “Evil Dead” remake, except this is a female version of Ash. A female version of Ash battling a bunch of demons. This movie wasn’t all that scary, although there were many jumps from the seat, I didn’t get jumped being scared one bit. I live my life watching horror films, so I’m used to watching them.

Sam Raimi kept the film low budget, Evil Dead old school style. Similar special effects and similar gore to the Evil Dead series. Similar humor too.

The film was alright, but it wasn’t anything special. I think Sam Raimi did a film like this as a test to see if he can still do horror films after years of doing work for Spiderman. The only thing I give “Drag Me To Hell” respect for, is that this proves that Sam Raimi is capable enough of making, Evil Dead 4.

I can easily see this film being “Evil Dead 4” with Bruce Campbell as Ash in the leading role, instead of Alison Lohman. Alison’s and Justin Long’s acting skills weren’t all that great. Sammy boy still has what it takes to do horror films though, that’s the only thing I give the film respect for.

It was an ok film. Nothing great, nothing amazing. I’ve seen better.

Score for “Drag Me To Hell” = ** (2 stars as in “ok”)
