Film Review: Fast and Furious

Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster

Directed by: Justin Lin

So this afternoon, I decided to go to the mall to do a little fun shopping and go check out a movie. I decided to see the new, “Fast and Furious” just for the hell of it. I wasn’t really that excited about it, I decided to check it out just to make time fly by.

For shopping, I picked up Neil Young’s “Fork in the Road” and the Eagles of Death Metal, “Heart On” music albums. I also picked up the movie, “The Reader” on DVD, the drama film that stars Kate Winslet that I’ve been wanting to see for a long time. Glad I finally bought, “The Reader”, I will review my thoughts on that film too. I also went to Dick’s Sporting Goods to get a little something to add to my workout equipment that I’m starting up.

Now on to the “Fast and Furious” review:

Plot/synopsis: Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are back in the leading role, reuniting with all the cast members from the earlier “Fast and the Furious” movies. Paul’s character, Brian O’ Connor is now an FBI agent which his mission to hunt down a psycho drug lord, named Arturo Braga. While investigating the murder of their friend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez who is in the film very briefly), Dominic’s investigation led to the same information which forced Dominic and Brian to get into these car races against these gang members to fight war against drugs in their city.

Although I am not much of a “Fast and the Furious” fan, I only loved the first one. The first one was great, but the rest of them, in my opinion, were pretty bad. I was totally surprised on “Fast and Furious 4”. This one was actually extremely fun and quite a ride. The car races in this film were pretty insane. The script was good and the acting of Vinny and Paul were actually decent. It’s nice to see them back together again.

I’m glad that Vinny had a change of heart with sequels, because I remember in the past, he used to never want to do sequels of his own movies and it’s good to see him change his mind.

I thought the movie was very well made, I wasn’t bored. I was entertained all the way through. Edge of your seat action, big time. There is a sequel for “Fast and Furious” coming, I heard that Paul and Vinny are down in coming back for the next one too. I’m sure the next one will be just as good. I thought this was a pretty bad ass film. Go check it out!

Score for “Fast and Furious” = *** (3 stars as in good)

RIP: Marilyn Chambers 1952 – 2009

She’s considered one of the first porn stars to bring adult porn entertainment to the mainstream. Yes, Marilyn Chambers is dead at 56. She was found at her home in Los Angeles. Her cause of death is not yet known. She did films like “Behind the Green Door” and “Deep Throat”. She was also known as the Ivory Snow girl.

So sad, 56 is too young. Today’s porn industry gotta be devastated since she is the one that started it all.

Another cool shot of Sly Stallone in action!!!!

WOOT!!!! This movie is looking so badass!!! I think this is going to be Sly’s best action flick ever made!

Check out this new photo of Sly in action on set!

I think that’s the closeup shot of Sly running after the plane on the docks.

When are we going to see photos of Dolph, Jet Li, and Randy Couture? They’ll be coming soon, I hope!

Report: In defense of Billy Bob and the Boxmasters…read this…

I came across this great article. It’s a writer from a website named, swampland.com that defends the controversial QTV Boxmasters interview. This is right on the money, all of it. I agree with everything he wrote in this article, 100%. Excellent job, Jim Markel! He explained things better than I did.

Like I said before, Billy Bob went off topic about “monster magazines” and “toys” instead of music because Jian went off topic, and Billy Bob did it to be a smartass like I said.

I guess, the interview wasn’t scripted and acted. It was real like this article said. The article is right that it is Billy Bob’s and the band’s right to treat the interview how they feel like.

So to all those out there that are angry at Billy Bob for this interview, you might want to read this, read it all, from the top to bottom. Very good read. I applaud this writer.

Even this guy in this article agreed that Billy Bob wasn’t acting like a jerk at all like I’ve been saying.

Read it here:

Music listeners must understand band interviews. I have seen and read plenty of interviews by famous bands and artists, and believe me…there are way crazier ones than the Boxmasters.

The only reason why people are angry at the Boxmasters interview is ’cause of Billy Bob’s fame as a movie star.

With all these music websites reporting this QTV story, a lot of hateful comments from listeners thinking that the band will fail in music ’cause of that interview. Like I keep saying, the band will get more successful, they will be a hit. The band will be around a long time, whether you like it or not.

As long as they are making the news, they are becoming successful right now. I think they are a fun band and enjoyable to listen to. If the Boxmasters played a show in the Capital District, I’d definitely see them for sure. So hope they come around here for their upcoming tour. Not many people are into this country hillbilly thing, and I like that stuff. I admire the Boxmasters for trying to make that genre big again. I don’t have their albums yet, but I’m going to be looking into getting some soon.

Poll: Which celebrity has the best temper tantrum?

This has been going on a lot lately in the media news. Celebrities going off on a tirade and getting a negative public backlash reaction. All these men on this poll fit the topic.

What I mean by best, “temper tantrum” are the men who are really mean and that if you are afraid to talk to them in person, they are the type of people you don’t want to piss off that they do a good job of.

I think Jack Nicholson wins. The other guys in the poll can get pretty angry and aggressive, but they can’t top, Jack. All those films of Jack Nicholson losing his temper on screen, just shows how he is in real life.

I don’t think anyone would want to mess with, Jack.

If I’m missing anybody on the poll, pick the “Other” option and name him here. Have fun!

Great photo of Stone Cold and Eric Roberts during explosion scene in “Expendables”…

From Sheryl Main’s Twitter page:

http://twitter.com/marialascala

It’s revealed the big news that “The Expendables” will not have any CGI effects at all. So look like all the stunts, explosions, and dangerous scenes will all be done for real!!! HELL YeAh!!!!

Check out this cool shot of Eric Roberts and Stone Cold flying in the air during an explosion…I’ll link it since the photo is too big to post in the blog…

Report: Michael Sheen casted in “Twilight Saga: New Moon”…

Actor Michael Sheen has been casted in “Twilight Saga: New Moon”. He will play the role of Aro, the leader of the vampire Italy group, the Volturi. Aro is an older character, not a tween, so they needed an older actor to fit the character. You would see Michael Sheen in such movies as, the “Underworld” trilogy, “Frost/Nixon”, “The Queen”, “Blood Diamond”, “The Four Feathers”, etc. No, he is no relation to Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. Michael Sheen is from a different family, he was born in Wales.

BREAKING NEWS: Somalia pirates drama, an Easter miracle!!!

Oh my! How cool is this! An easter miracle for us all to smile about! A happy ending in Somalia, indeed! I’m so glad and relieved this mess is all over!

More on it here:

Well…it’s over for now ’cause like the pirates said, they vow revenge on the US and France…so they may attack more in the future.

It’s almost like a fuckin’ movie in real life. How much do you want to bet Hollywood will make this into a movie for the big screen? Maybe it will be made into a video game where you have to rescue Captain Phillips and the other hostages from the pirates?

Either way, the entertainment industry is going to be all over this.

I’m happy for Captain Phillips and everyone else that is alive and safe. Awesome!

Report: Rob Zombie finishes filming “H2″…

Well, that was quick. Rob Zombie finishes filming his next Halloween sequel, “H2”. He explains, this is even more brutal and intense. It is not a remake of “Halloween II”, it is completely Rob Zombie’s story, an original. He explains that Michael Myers does not wear the mask throughout most of the movie, I’ll imagine Michael picks up the mask toward the end of the film.

The cast from the first one is back with some new additions such as Margot Kidder and “Weird Al”  Yankovic. “H2” is slated for a release date, August 28th this summer.

Sweet, looking forward to it.
