Report: Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington to star in “The Matarese Circle”!!!

Tom Cruise has finally decided to stop messing around with the media by ending his Scientology promotion and no more couch jumping in talk shows, by doing something more important in his life…reviving his film career. Cruise was successful at, “Tropic Thunder” and “Valkyrie”…now he wants a shot at starring in a movie with Denzel Washington in the Robert Ludlum thriller, “The Matarese Circle” based on the book.

Cruise and Washington will play spies who at first, hate each other and try to kill each other. Later, they team up, to fight against the Matarese, a powerful group at the root of a conspiracy. The film is being developed by MGM studios.

It’s great to see Tom smarten up and getting back to movies, he came this close to killing his own movie career but he brought it all upon himself though. This movie sounds good, bring it on.

Report: Peter Gabriel cancels Oscar performance and here’s why…

Former Genesis singer and 80’s icon, Peter Gabriel, has pulled out of his live performance at the Oscars this year. The reason? Simply because he was told that he would only perform the song, “Down to Earth” from the Wall-E soundtrack, for 60-65 seconds during a medley of the three nominated songs for “Best Song” category. He have decided that is not what he wanted. He wanted to perform the song in it’s entirety. Gabriel hopes the Academy will reconsider the medley mix and go back to artists performing the full song for next year.

Well, there you have it. The Oscars just revealed one of their secret surprises that they had never done before, performing short sections of songs for a medley. I actually agree with Gabriel that it is pretty ridiculous. The artists who wrote the songs for the movie should be able to perform the songs in entirety like they always did in the past. Kudos for Mr. Gabriel for calling the Academy out on this!!!

Thought: About that Joaquin Phoenix and Letterman video, yep, it was scripted and they are acting…

After seeing the Joaquin Phoenix on David Letterman video below, if you watch the ending carefully, you can see Joaquin shaking Dave’s hand for the second time and then he says, “Good job”. I think that shows that Joaquin ruined his prank by getting out of character and acting his real self as the show was about to get off the air. It would have been smart enough for Joaquin to wait to tell Dave, “Good job”, after the show got off the air completely, right? Sorry Joaquin, but you’re not fooling anybody.

This guy is not quitting acting at all, it’s obviously a publicity stunt to plug in “Two Lovers” and his upcoming rap album. He’s just doing his best trying to make it look real.

BREAKING NEWS: Limp Bizkit, reuniting with original members for new album and world tour…

Limp Bizkit, the iconic rap/metal band known for Fred Durst’s aggresive rapping styles and heavy tight music, are coming back with their original members. The last time the original members: Fred Durst, Wes Borland, DJ Lethal, Sam Rivers, and John Otto were together was way back in 2001.

Guitarist Wes Borland, who is known for his crazy eye contacts and staged costume designs has left the band to pursue a career with his own music and other musical projects. Borland has denied re-joining Limp Bizkit for many years, but it looks like the band put their differences aside and they are getting along again.

Well, I’m glad to hear this news. I’ve always liked the band with the original lineup. Wes Borland is a great guitar player too. I hope they won’t dissapoint in their new album. Looking forward to it.

Cool Video: Joaquin Phoenix interview with David Letterman last night!!!

This is Joaquin Phoenix’s first public TV interview in a long time, the former actor turned rapper appeared on the David Letterman show last night to plug in his final and last film, “Two Lovers”. This interview is pretty bizarre, strange, and hilarious at the same time. Seems like Joaquin is nervous and shy at this interview. Not answering any of Dave’s questions, when Joaquin decides to answer his questions, they are usually short sentences like, “I don’t know”, and all that.

Is this an act by Joaquin or is it for real? Whatever it is, this proves how talented Joaquin is, trying to get people to think if he’s for real or not.

Enjoy.

Cool Video: Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” trailer hits the internets finally…and it doesn’t look very good…

A film that took over a decade to make, it finally comes out and the film looks dissapointing. So far, I don’t seem to have any interest in it. What a let down of the trailer.

See the trailer:

I’m sure Stallone’s, “The Expendables” will be better than this.

Report: It’s not Batman 3 but Christopher Nolan signs with Warner Bros. to make, “Inception”…

The “Batman: Begins” and “The Dark Knight” helmer, Christopher Nolan has already signed on to direct his next project with Warner Bros. Nolan will direct a film titled, “Inception”, which is a script that he wrote himself. It is an original film he wrote. “Inception” will be a sci fi/action film. In the article, there is no plot/synopsis but all it says that it’s a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind. Emma Thomas will produce the film, she previously produced, “The Dark Knight” with Nolan.

Warner Bros. has been impressed with Christopher Nolan’s work, that they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Nolan again.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

While I do want Nolan to do one more Batman film, I’m glad he is not doing it this soon. Christopher Nolan has been one of my favorite film directors for years. Even before he became a well known and mainstream director. I look forward to anything Nolan does. I love all of his movies: “Memento”, “Insomnia”, “The Prestige”, etc. Most people know Nolan’s work through the Batman films of course, but I’d suggest everyone check out his earlier films too.

“Memento” that stars Guy Pearce, “Insomnia” that stars Robin Williams and Al Pacino, “The Prestige” a film that stars Hugh Jackman and David Bowie. They’re all amazing films.

People need to stop obsessing with Nolan’s Batman work and appreciate his other films too. I’m sure he won’t dissapoint in, “Inception”. He’s a great storyteller. Looking forward to see who Nolan is going to cast in, “Inception”. I’m sure it will be great.

Thought: Michael Phelps getting caught with a bong is not a big deal…get over it…

So Michael Phelps enjoys partying. He got caught with a bong once and admitted to it. So fuckin’ what! Get over it! This is another thing that sickens me about the media.

I’m 100% positive and I KNOW that most all famous people party hard. That means, smoking weed, drinking hard and getting crazy, etc. ALL OF IT! Why is it such a big deal that Michael does it?

Comedian Bill Maher, was on Jay Leno last night, and Jay asked Bill for his opinion on the Michael Phelps bong thing. Bill said, Michael is a pussy for coming out apologizing for the bong pic which he didn’t need to apologize, he said something about partying is an adult thing and the Olympics are over and done with for a long while, and Bill said Phelps can party all he wants. Ya know, I agree with Bill on this one.

Sure, smoking weed and partying maybe bad for your lungs and your health, that he would not be a good swimmer anymore because of it, but really, I can’t blame the dude for partying. He’s celebrating his historic gold medal winnings. Leave the kid alone!

How much do you want to bet that other Olympic stars are big time party animals as well? But nobody busts on them because they aren’t big and iconic like Michael is.

Mikey, if you’re somewhat reading this blog entry somehow, do what you want to do and be yourself, party hard all you want, man. If people or the media don’t like what you do, fuck ’em. Just ask Snoop Dogg or Willie Nelson or Cheech and Chong. Those guys party all they want, not giving a damn what anybody thinks.

I don’t smoke weed, but I understand that most everyone does out there.
