Report: Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon” to get remade…

Los Angeles-based Harbor Light Entertainment and Tokyo-based Lotus have just greenlighted to get Akira Kurosawa’s film “Rashomon” remade. Harbor Light announced a remake of “Rashomon” way back in 2001 but have been fighting to get the remake greenlighted. Today they finally made the film a “go”.

Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon” is a Japanese movie made in 1950 that stars Toshiro Mifune who starred the leading role in many of Kurosawa movies. The story is a crime drama, about a family man who is murdered and his wife raped. There are 4 witnesses with each witness telling their side of the story.

The remake is aiming for an American version of the film.

I have seen “Rashomon” a few times before and it’s a very good flick.

I see the remake of the American version being more obscene, with more nudity and lots of profanity.

I won’t judge the remake this soon, but hope they make it a good one.

Report: Steven Spielberg and Kate Capeshaw donate $100,000 to fight against Prop 8 on gay marriage ban…

Brad Pitt is not the only one supporting gay marriage being legal in California and trying to fight back at Prop 8, you can now add Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw to the list. Proposition 8 is on the attack to get gay marriage banned again in California. Hollywood celebrities are fighting back at them to stop them. Spielberg and Capshaw donated $100,000, Brad Pitt already donated the same amount of money last week to the campaign. Spielberg says every gay men and women deserve the right for marriage, and calls it discrimination if it wasn’t allowed.

Kudos, glad that Hollywood is fighting back. Every human being deserves to be treated equal whether you agree with their sex life or not.

Report: Janet Jackson drops Island Def Jam record label…

Janet Jackson has quit her record label Island Def Jam records after being part of the label’s roster for 14 months. She released her new album “Discipline” through it. The reason for her departure of the label? She’s blaming the label for the bombing of her new album. Accusing them of not promoting it hard enough.

Oh Janet, you shouldn’t blame the record label because of your failed album. The label marketed the album pretty heavily from what I’ve seen. The only reason the new album bombed in record sales and no one bought it is because Janet Jackson sucks and have no talent. Janet’s musical comeback failed. People don’t care for Janet Jackson anymore. She’s an ego driven pop star who think she’ll be successful at everything just because she’s the real life sister of Michael. She should have never came back to music and just retire. Island Def Jam should just sue her ass for her accusations.

Thought: Why I stopped blogging about the OJ Simpson Vegas Robbery trial…

Because it’s kind of hard posting about every detail of the trial in the blog. I’ve been reading about the trial and following it everyday. I’m just going to wait until the final verdict on whether’s he’s guilty or not. Then I’ll post my final thoughts of the trial. I’m still predicting that Simpson is going to get acquitted.

He’s been giving a large number of charges. I am predicting Simpson will be guilty of a few charges but he will be convicted on smaller charges, like maybe get probation or something, that’s about it. I’d like to see him go to prison for life, but I don’t see it happening. I am predicting he will get convicted on a smaller charge like “harrasment” or something. But not for robbery.

Thought: If Metallica is inducted in the Hall of Fame, who should induct them?

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters is my pick to induct Metallica into the Hall of Fame. It is probably the most likely pick.

I had others in mind like Pat Boone, Ozzy Osbourne, Rick Rubin, Jason Newsted, Dave Mustaine, etc. Yep, I had Mustaine in mind but then I figure Metallica wouldn’t want Dave to induct them. I’m sure Mustaine would go for it if he was asked but since the two have been feuding for over 20 years, I don’t think that’s what Metallica would want.

I’m betting my money that Dave Grohl would probably be the most likely choice.

Anyone else out there have any other choices?

It fucking rocks! Definitely better than “Rock N’ Roll Train”!!! In “War Machine” Brian Johnson sounds almost exactly like Bon Scott when he’s singing! How fuckin’ cool is that! Yeah!

Nicolas Cage is set to reteam with “Gone In 60 Seconds” director Dominic Sena for the supernatural thriller “Season of the Witch” which will be made through Relatively Media.

Story takes place in the 14 century with knights transporting a girl who is suspected of being a witch responsible for spreading the Black Praque. The film will be released by Columbia Pictures. The actress who will play the Witch have not been announced yet.

Shooting is expected to begin in early November in Austria and Hungary.

BREAKING NEWS: Metallica named one of the 9 nominees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!

YES! YES! YES! YES!

IT IS HAPPENING! Metallica finally making their way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for this year’s show!

They are named one of the 9 nominations of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with other nominees such as Run-Dmc, Iggy and the Stooges, Jeff Beck, Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War, and Bobby Womack.

Metallica will make it in and they will be inducted! I’m feeling it! Congrats once again boys! It’s been a long time coming for them.

I can see an all star superjam with Jeff Beck, the Stooges, War and Metallica jamming on stage all at once at this year’s Hall of Fame show if they all get inducted this year. Jeff Beck and Kirk Hammett jamming on stage together would be badass!

Report: Schwarzenegger confirmed he used to smoke weed with Tommy Chong…

The last time you saw Arnold and Sly together was at the “Rambo” premiere when that movie came out in theater. Arnold and Sly reunite together again with TMZ and a gang of paparrazi following them of course. TMZ asked Arnold if he used to smoke with Tommy Chong, and Arnold says, “He was right, we always knew how to have a great time to enjoy ourselves”. Arnold and Sly starts joking about it.

Arnold and Sly have been friends forever but they have never starred in a movie together once? When Arnold’s done being governor, he should star in a movie with Sly. Everybody’s been begging it for years, so who knows maybe it’ll actually happen.
